Do not enroll in the “Fit As A Fighter” class if you have no prior martial arts experience. After only the second class, I sustained a concussion. I am still experiencing complications from it, over 3 months later. I’ve never gotten a concussion before in my life, after years of soccer and gymnastics. It has been awful, especially because there was zero concern or follow-up from the gym. The gym owner’s only reaction has been to ask students to post more 5 star reviews to drown mine out. To the owner - please consider helmets for beginners, do not pair them with people twice their size, or at the very least, discuss the increased risk for head injury prior to enrollment. I absolutely love what Guro David does to help us learn the art of Muay Thai kickboxing in every class. He wants to make sure students, even women, get to learn to defend themselves if needed but also take pride in being fit and healthy. My only disappointment is that I didn’t find the place sooner as I find this to be a huge hobby of mine and I’ve only been a student for one month but can tell I will be doing this for a while. I love to learn and grow in this art form and hope other women see that they can be just as strong. No intimidation felt and my fellow classmates help me learn as well. Great institution!!! It is becoming a family!!!

Training and learning under Guro Dave has been a truly fantastic experience. He is very considerate of individual skill level and will make sure anyone, even absolute beginners, feel welcome. I’ve been training here for about eight months and have learned a ton about self defense, situational awareness and even my own personal development. Overall a great place to train!

I was a complete beginner to this process and had never practiced martial arts prior to working with Guru Dave and his instructors. Being in my mid-thirties, I was apprehensive about my physical ability with such a demanding program. That being said, I have looked forward to coming to every class. I have learned a tremendous amount and enjoy the continued opportunity to learn more! I highly recommend this place!

Awesome martial arts school! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. Guru David has so much knowledge and experience in multiple arts. I think a true blend of arts is the best thing you can find and this is possible at this school because of the vast knowledge that Guru David has, even though you study each art individually. I really look at the group as a family. I learn so much and have so much FUN! I would recommend to anyone out there no matter their experience.

Love this place! I have been coming here for about a month now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The class sizes are relatively small with a variety of skill levels from beginners to advanced. Everyone is friendly and eager to help you learn. Guro Dave is amazing, He takes the time to introduce you to everyone and help beginners get acclimated with the basics. I was nervous at first, but after being in that environment for one class I have no problem going back.

Just started training here last month..... love it!!! I’m taking both Muy Thai and Wing Chun. I would recommend this place to anyone at any level of experience. Guru David is great! The thing that impresses me most is the willingness of every member of the class to help and support one another as well.

Ive been a student of the school for 8 years now, and I can say without a doubt that Guro David is an instructor who is truly passionate about the arts. Its difficult to find someone who appreciates the importance of authenticity and being able to trace your knowledge back to the masters. Guro David is the type of instructor who can seamlessly blend multiple marital arts, while remaining true to the essence of each individual art. I recommend the academy without any reservations.

I absolutely enjoy the challenge, the workout, and the skills I learn and develop. Guro David Greco is very personable and makes the classes fun while also providing excellent instruction. Everything is learn at your own pace. There is no pressure to compete or outperform others; but, if you do want to become a serious fighter, there are a couple artform classes taught on most evenings of the week and other fitness options offered on Saturdays.

I’ve been attending Muay Thai classes with Guro David for over a year now. Initially, I didn’t know what to expect. I would recommend it to anyone with a passion for martial arts. Until one experiences and fully understands what is offered here, it is difficult to do much justice in a summary paragraph. I’ve learned a lot; some things I hadn’t even considered. The business model of the school is impressive. The quality of the teachings, the overall dynamics of the environment, and the tremendous amounts of exhibited patience and opportunities to learn are just a few of the things that keep me coming back. Also, regular weekly classes are supplemented with seminars throughout the year; seminars that show you a small glimpse into other types of martial arts.In addition, I have been attending the weekly Revolution Group Fitness classes, which are awesome and ever-changing. They are fun and challenging and I wish there were more opportunities in the week to have several class offerings of this!

Zack really enjoys his class he is just beginning but he has learned many moves. Guro David Greco is very patient with the students. During class he balances giving each student one on one instruction, doing group exercises and having more experienced participants help teach other students. Besides getting in shape the kids are learning respect, teamwork and leadership. When I watch Zack practice at home I can tell that he is being taught how to align his body and work his core. This means he is less likely to get a stress injury. And even though I know nothing about martial arts, this tells me the moves must be correct because you cannot do anything athletic safely without having a good center of gravity and a good base. I am very happy with the academy.

I was looking for a well rounded school in the south suburbs, and came across Guro David. Ive been a student for the past five months in BJJ/Grappling arts and Kempo. Im having a great time and classes are a cut above the rest. I strongly recommend this school to any one. Guro David teaches all levels of martial arts regardless of your background. Had a great time at Revolution Group Fitness class today!

I have been attending classes at this school for roughly 2 and a half months and I absolutely love it. I have had a love affair with martial arts since I first saw The Karate Kid (the original one with Ralph Macchio). I was 8 years old when that movie first came out and I can remember asking my mom to let me take some lessons at the local YMCA. While she didn’t have the money to sign me up I knew that as soon as I had the money I would take some lessons. Fast forward to my early 20’s and I stumble across a flyer for Hung Gar Kung Fu being taught ironically at the local YMCA. I quickly signed up and studied it for about a year until the Y replaced the Kung Fu class for a Tae Kwon Do class. I tried TKD for a couple of months but didn’t enjoy the rigidness of the instructor. In Hung Gar we were more laid back and in TKD it was like military training. So I sought out a new school and came upon a school that taught Shaolin Long Fist Kung Fu. I studied there for roughly a year until I had to stop for personal reasons. I went on an extended hiatus and now in my 40’s I decided it was time to start training again. I began searching the Frankfort area for schools and the styles taught hoping to find something that would appeal to me.When I came across MAUMA’s website I saw they taught Jun Fan Gung Fu (JKD) along with some other systems but I wanted to try JKD, especially since I’ve watched almost every Bruce Lee movie. After taking some trial lessons I quickly signed up for three of the systems that Sensei Greco teaches (Kempo, FMA, and JKD). The reasons why I first chose the school was the location and the style; however I quickly realized that it’s Sensei Greco that makes it enjoyable. Not only does he have excellent knowledge of each style that he teaches, he will often blend one system into another to show how the ideals of one style are the same or can be incorporated into another. For example, there have been occasions where he is teaching Kempo and explains how something can be modified to incorporate JKD or FMA. He realizes that a student shouldn’t have a narrow focus and should instead understand that there are typically numerous options available during the practice of a technique. While he stresses that knowing the proper technique is important for the knowledge of the student, he explains that it may not work in a real world situation so be ready to adapt. This is something many instructors won’t say; however Sensei Greco will point it out along with a modification on how to make it work. Lastly his knowledge of the history of the Kempo system is very deep, which is expected of someone with his experience, but his depth of knowledge extends well beyond his base system. It is easily recognizable that Sensei Greco has a passion for what he teaches that is evident in his classes and his students. I highly recommend this school.
