I have a convertable refrigerator/freezer that is under warranty for a sealed system problem. I too have made dozens of calls, to no avail or satisfaction. Sears has sent a service technician to my house 7 times for repair. Recently the technician has said the unit is not repairable after changing compressor and thermostat. In addition to the original warranty there also is a written warranty of 90 days after repair, which the repairs have not worked at all. The refrigerator has not worked for months. I have made numerous calls for a similar replacement or refund, only to be hung up on, passed to other departments or given phone numbers to call for assistance only to find out the numbers are disconnected. I have used Sears for years and am terribly disappointed in the lack of customer service and warranty enforcement. The warranty people direct me to service and service redirects me to warranty because the unit is non repairable. This is precisely why lemon laws where established to protect customers from faulty products and the run around from company licensed technicians looking to avoid fixing problems to prevent the customer from getting what they paid hard earned money for. The only remedy that Sears has offered was to purchase an additional warranty ( which would also not be adhered to, based on past experiences with existing warranty), at a cost of more than I paid originally for the unit itself. I would hope that in this public forum Sears would find the integrity to resolve this problem in an expidiated manner with a refund as dictated in the lemon law.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM , STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! I would give a minus rate if possible, I request a technician in order to fix my appliance, he charged me for an estimate, which was not even accurate afterwards and had to pay more money on top to have a real technician who provide me with a professional service and actually fix my appliance. Worst service experience ever.

Couldnt recall any Sears service at the address listed, but called the area code 502 phone number listed to set up refrigerator repair. Phone was answered by someone who seemed to speak English as a third language. She and I were barely able to communicate. Finally said thanks, and ended the call.

A service tech came out to check the problem and gave an estimate. I had a coupon from Sears which I received after complaining that my Kenmore, which was under two years old, but out of warranty, was already malfunctioning. When I provided the coupon to the tech, he acted like he couldnt accept the coupon. I was persistent and he went outside to make a call and then he applied the coupon. I reviewed the estimate and digitally signed it. In addition, I signed a couple other forms. This is a relevant fact when you see what happened later. The next week when my part came in, another tech came to finish the job. This time I was at work and my husband happened to be home which was gud since I hadnt gotten a call that the tech was on his way. He installed the part and told my husband we owed more money. My husband called me on speaker so I could talk to the tech. I explained I had already paid, I had a signed estimate and the charge had gone through on my visa. His explanation didnt make sense. He said the tech who was at my house last week was no longer with the company and he couldnt use my coupon. I again said no, I already paid and Im not paying more. He said Id have to talk to Sears, although he was nice about everything. Keep in mind the techs send you the forms and estimates you digitally sign via e-mail. Imagine my surprise when I received a new estimate with a forgery of my signature. As I said above, I had the other forms I signed the previous week. Also, I was not at my house to sign anything and my husband didnt signand if he did, hed sign his name. I called Sears 800 number and had the nightmare of trying to communicate with the non-native speakers. I said look, this man forged my signature, is trying th change me me, etc. She just didnt get it or didnt care. She told me to call back in 24 hours. Im still thinking I should report the incident to the Attorney General since he forged my name. I havent called Sears yet because I dress the runaround Ill get. Sears needs to really do better and Im going to hold them accountable for their technicians actions.
