An emergency vet is never something any pet owner wants to have to visit, but if you do find yourself in an emergency, this is a great place. Very compassionate care and they keep you updated. I unfortunately had to let my dog cross the rainbow bridge and it was truly heartbreaking. The staff all took the time to write a sympathy card and send it to me. They understand how much your animals mean to you and give amazing care in often stressful situations.

Last week, our bichon-poodle hyperextended his right paw. We did not know that at the time. All we knew was that he had never whined in pain like that before. We could tell he was in a lot of pain. We attempted to take him to a sister-location closer to our home (Mansfield), but we received the worst service/bedside manner wed ever experienced. We were informed there would be a 4-6 hour wait in a completely empty waiting room, and they wouldnt do anything for pain or otherwise unless he was literally dying. We frantically started calling other locations in an attempt to get our dog seen sooner. We called this Fort Worth location and they informed us they would be able to get to him fairly quickly if we headed there right away and filled out the paperwork digitally, which was delivered via email. The phone call was an immediate tone shift. The young lady that answered the phone was sweet, kind, patient, and understanding. When we arrived, we were seen almost immediately. Our dog was taken into the facility, examined, and released within what felt like 30 minutes. They informed us of the hyper-extension, provided us with a few medications for pain and inflammation, and refrained from trying to gouge us for a more expensive treatment option. We were relieved! Yes, we may have been overreacting a bit, but when your little one is hurt and cant tell you whats wrong, this is a place I would recommend you take them!Thank you!

Dr. Ferrell called me 20 minutes after the check up and gave me the good news that my cat was going to be fine. He was very detailed and knowledgeable. All the nurses were amazing and polite. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital. I called them to ask if my dog would ever be seen because my dog was in critical condition and I was told that they would grab her when they could as they see pets based on condition. I was the only person there and my dog was in VERY bad condition. lethargic. I will never bring any of my animals here again as they clearly have no sense of urgency for pets. we will be taking our animals to I-20 animal hospital from now on.

I have never written a review before but my experience was just THAT pitiful. My grandfathers elderly dog was showing signs of fast deterioration and was becoming lethargic. We showed up and attempted to check her in but was met with nothing but sighs and snarky remarks. After waiting and having to emphasize the emergency, they unenthusiastically came out and demanded a $1000 payment. When asked what it was for and for clarification on treatment since we were not allowed in facility, I was met with a eye roll “well did you not listen?”.. if you care for your pet at all, I recommend PARC vet ER. Not only did they treat her right away (with no mention of payment), they also cared and listened to all of our concerns.

Please always get a second opinion!!! My parents took my cat who was not eating or drinking. This place did many tests and bloodwork. The results were my cat was either stressed, possible cancer, and maybe diabetes. We thought we were going to have to put her down because that’s what it seemed like, that there was nothing else we could do. WELL...thank goodness for her vet. We walked in the day after ready to hear bad news and that she would have be euthanized. The vet looked at the results from this place and touched my cat and right away said she has a UTI....we spent over $400 at the emergency vet, while thinking the worst, for my vet to say my cat has nothing but a UTI....ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!!!!!!!!!

Beware of this place and always get a second opinion if you can. Call Veterinary Emergency Group in North Fort Worth. They were great!Regarding Fort Worth Animal Emergency Hospital -Within 12 hours of our 1 year old lab first showing symptoms of an intestinal blockage (not eating, drinking, uncomfortable), we took him to this place for evaluation because we suspected he got ahold of a sock, since there had been a history of this. What occurred after that involved an x-ray, then a treatment plan that included iv-fluid (to perhaps help move the blockage) and if not better in about 4.5 hours, their advice was to move forward with a very expensive (2.5k - 5k+) surgery to remove the blockage.I don’t want to pretend to know their motives as this might have been their genuine assessment of what needed to be done. But what I can say is how we felt during our experience - We felt that the vet was very high level with her explanations, was put out with our questions, made us feel guilty about our dog ingesting a sock, and the request to consent to surgery was high pressure. Keep in mind the VERY high price point of the surgery, the fact that our dog was not critical at this time, our dog is young and healthy, and at the time of anticipated surgery it would’ve been less than 24 hours after symptoms first appeared. It just didn’t feel right. I went with my gut and started searching for second opinions.I started calling around to other ER vets and found Veterinary Emergency Group in North Fort Worth. A lot can be said for customer service that includes compassion, reasonable conversations, and thorough explanations!! I felt 100% different and trusted them to care for my pet. We asked for our x-ray and took our dog to this other vet. When we got there, the x-rays were locked and we couldn’t read them. I really hope this wasn’t on purpose! However the new vet did x-rays for free to help us out. With their assessment of his overall vitals, health, and timing of the symptoms, they thought it was best to give him fluids and do x-rays the next morning. What do you know? The x-rays the next morning showed no blockage! Our dog passed the sock the next day and we are extremely grateful we got a second opinion!! Veterinary Emergency Group saved us a ton of money and all the potential life-long complications that my dog could’ve had with a major surgery. If your dog is not critical, get a second opinion from another ER vet if it involves a major expensive surgery!! Don’t feel pressured into anything without at least talking to another vet.[In response to their reply - another benefit of not choosing this ER is that the vet we ended up choosing (Veterinary Emergency Group) had better Covid restrictions which allow you to be with your animal! Their recommendation of a surgery in the middle of the night around 2am, less than 24 hours after symptoms was not the right treatment for us and our dog! You cannot change the “tone” of the conversation which was short, put out, and full of pressure. ]

My German Shepherd has a broken pelvis, in 4 places. Went there for help. Only got drained. When I let them know we only had $400 , they billed me for $389 with tax. Then tried to get $2000 for an overnight stay till the surgeon was available the next day. We couldnt afford the $2000 so we took her home. We brought her back the next day for surgery help, only to be told that my pooch wasnt put in for an appointment because were not rich enough for the overnight stay. When I called in the morning , they never called me back. Then I was seriously treated rudely when we got there. The lady said I never called her. Called me a liar. Then found out there are 4 clinics in this office. Thats probly why they fight eachother and act so catty. I have never been treated with such disrespect. This place does not have its stuff together and treat the pet owner rudely. Be careful of the payment plans because each of the 4 clinics excepts different payment methods. Scratch pay for the ER room. Care pay for the surgeon, and just straight cash. They all operate separately and definitely treat eachother like competitors. Be weary and make sure they are trying to double drain you. Each of the clinics want a piece of your money. Very uncompasionate and very rude. Will never go back.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with this hospital was just so negative. My dog was attacked by another dog who gave him a compound fracture. You could see all his bones and his paw was dangling. We brought him to the emergency pet hospital asap. When I got there, they saw the injury but they didn’t seem anywhere near urgent about it. I was still holding my bleeding dog with a compound fracture outside their door (couldn’t go in because of the pandemic) while they were asking for paper work. Secondly, a women came out and was rudely explaining to me that we have to pay the deposit because that’s how they keep their place open. We didn’t show any signs that we weren’t going to pay, but she was being very passive aggressive and said we could leave and take my dog to a different place if we don’t like how they do things. After they gave care to my dog, we picked him up the next day. Expecting the nurse to carry my dog so he doesn’t have to walk on his very broken paw, we turned to see him limping out on a leash with the nurse walking behind him. The fact that it was raining also made it worse due to the fact that the bandages needed to stay dry. Our dog is a small dog, around 15 pounds, so I was appalled by seeing this. I was so surprised, I ran to the front to carry him to our car (keep in mind we couldn’t go in the hospital to do so because of the pandemic which is very understandable)

I came here for an ultrasound and further assessment after my regular vet suspected a mass and bleeding. I forget the doctors name, unfortunately, but she did a great job explaining the assessment and diagnosis and what my dogs odds were with different treatments. I ended up having to put Bella down, sadly, but even with covid I was able to meet the staff and my Bella at the back door while they performed the procedure. The doctor was kind and considerate and gave me a few minutes with her while telling me she would have made the same choice. This happened on a Friday and they were able to hold Bella at the facility until Tuesday when the burial service could pick her up.Most of the reviews on here complain about the hospital requiring payment for services or complaining about how they had to wait. People shouldnt try and penalize this company because THEY dont have the money to pay for their pets procedure. As for the wait, I imagine its just like a human ER and more sever cases get treated first. The only thing I didnt like about this visit was the need to do the paperwork online. In an emergent situation just give me a clipboard with the paperwork so I can fill it out quickly. Of course covid is an issue but wash your hands and everything will be fine. That was super annoying.

We were visiting Fort Worth when our dog accident happened. We rushed to the closest emergency vet hospital and feel lucky it was this one. They not only saved my dog from near death, they were caring, compassionate and communicated well with us. When we left our dog, I was told I could call anytime. The tech said, “if you are awake in the middle of the night worrying, feel free to call us. We will be here to help.“ I called a lot in the next 48 hours and every time they were supportive and willing to check our dog’s status. They didn’t just read a report, they’d go look at her and tell me what she was doing. I appreciated that. Upon my dog’s discharge, they gave clear instructions and spent time with us to make sure we understood everything. I would recommend this vet hospital to others.

I would like to start this negative review by highlighting the one positive about this place and that is the staff were extremely kind. Aside from that, I am greatly disappointed in the quality of care or lack thereof that my dog received. I brought my dog in on a Saturday morning due to him aspirating and vomiting excessively with labored breathing. Due to Covid, you are unable to accompany your pet which I completely understand, however, there is no way to ensure what is actually being done or not being done to your animal under these circumstances. I was told the suggested treatment of an anti-nausea injection and multiple view radiographs. Subsequently was told the work-up was normal and he was discharged a couple of hours later with no other after care aside from OTC Omeprazole for the next week. $779 was the cost for this visit. A day later, my dog woke up doing the exact same thing and I decided to take him to another emergency hospital that we have used in the past for our other dog. My dog is currently hospitalized in the ICU with a severe case of pneumonia that was obviously missed at the previous location. Our current expenses over the past 3 days has surpassed $2500 for a problem that should have and could have been caught by the first location. In essence, pneumonia in dogs, especially in breeds such as American Bullies can be deadly if not treated rather quickly. I would not recommend anyone take their pet here. The motivation seems to be more about money rather than providing quality care. My vet recommends this place on their website and I have informed them of my experience as well. I cannot fully articulate my disappointment in this place and I would caution anyone considering taking their animal here.

Seldom do I respond with a negative review of a business, but I feel I would be less than honest if I didnt on this occasion. I own franchises food restaurants and we receive reviews regularly of our restaurants. We appreciate the good reviews and as well those that express areas that need our improvement. My reason for writing this review is to maybe help in your customer service practices when coming to the hospital. On Sunday morning, August 30, 2020 around 8:00 a.m. we noticed one of our older female French Bull dogs was very sick and was experiencing shallow breathing as well as her heart rate was accelerated and gums did not appear normal. So quickly we loaded her in the car and headed for your office because we have used the surgical centers at Southlake/Grapevine, Dallas and the Fort Worth office for surgeries on our French Bull Dogs over the years. In fact we just had one of our males in to see the doctor to have him examined month or so ago. We have made many recommendations of your clinics to our friends. We have spent in the neighborhood $10,000.00 in these facilities. We raise French Bulldogs and know they have a number of problematic issues and have always been more than happy with the professionalism and result we have experienced with these offices and our experiences there. But our recent situation took place at the Fort Worth Animal Emergency Hospital. Upon arriving I called the office number to announce we were on the parking lot. I was asked if I had called ahead and filled out the proper documentation for the visit. Because of the situation with the dog we didn’t make time to fill out the paper work in advance. It was sent by phone to be completed and returned on the parking lot, of which I understand completely! I had emphasized the dog was critical and needed to be seen quickly. This did not appear to be a particularly busy day, there were only 3 cars on the lot. But to my shock, the dog was not seen until my credit card information was completed. I finally re-emphasized the critical nature of the dogs condition and was able to get a gentleman to meet me at the door to take her in.Finally there was a phone consultation with the doctor and the decision was made to euthanize her. We requested to be with her at the time it was administered. We were told it was not possible for both my wife and I to go in together due to the virus guidelines. I completely understand protocol! My wife was in no frame of mind to go in by herself!!!! What was interesting is, while were waiting for the examination of our dog, a sweet middle age couple parked beside us, came out of the building together. We visited with them and found their Chihuahua/mix had been there for a number of days trying to recover and they were allowed to go into together. I was very glad they were permitted to visit together. But I was disturbed greatly, when my wife and I were unable to say goodbye to our dog in a examine room. Protocol again, was brought up by your staff on the phone, with little or no concern for our feelings and our situation!!!!The only solution was, that we would come behind the building and the dog would be brought outside to administer the medication to put her down. So my wife and I stood as it was raining outside, behind the building, and said goodbye to our dog. We over the years have had to say goodbye to a number of dogs….but never, never, never have I been forced to say goodbye in such a manner. What is amazing is…we were forced to say goodbye to a family member recently at the Harris Hospital, yet we were allowed to be with them at their home going and yet protect the integrity of protocols necessary for virus protect.Whatever your response to this review, I will never, never forget when I pass by your office the lack of respect and compassion you showed my dog, my wife and me.I write this review for other pet owners hoping you will review your procedures during this virus pandemic so no other pet owner would be subject to a similar situation.Below is a picture of Bella

Ive been here twice: once for a kitten with bloody diarrhea, and once for an elderly dog who was bitten and required surgery. Both times they were welcoming, prompt, and gave excellent care. My only negative is that its very expensive, but it is an emergency vet so thats par for the course. With the kitten, I was given free/sample supplies for his treatment which helped offset some of the cost. With the dog, the bill came in under the estimate so I was refunded money. I definitely feel that my animals are in good hands when I bring them here.

She was kind and concerned and gentle and smart--all of the things you want in your veterinarian. For those who write low reviews because the price is so high, remember that this is emergency medicine. If you have the proper expectations of cost before you go, you can focus on the quality of the care and not think about the bill. It will be high because you are getting high quality care in a state-of-the-art facility.

Our Vet has this hospital down as an after hours alternate especially for emergencies. I brought our Great Dane boy over since he was having difficulties urinating due to prostate issues that go worse over the course of the past week and a half. He also didnt want to eat. He was having a very difficult time but was a trooper. Dr. Tims did a thorough exam and a lot of tests including sonograms. Our worst fear after hearing the prognosis was that he was going into kidney failure and a domino effect would eventually happen. I wont get into all the specifics but you get the idea. I called my husband and he met us at the hospital. We had to come to terms of how painful it would be for him with all he was going through. We couldn’t let him suffer any longer. Our gentle giant Zeus passed peacefully with M and me at his side. He started to make his way to The Rainbow Bridge at around 3:45am on 7/28/2020. The only way we could both be with him was to do it outside thanks to COVID-19 restrictions. He also had his favorite fuzzy squeaky bunny toy with him. It worked out better doing it in the open so he could take his last breaths of fresh, outdoor air and looking up at the stars. Zeus must have known it was his time. He was 10 years 7 months young. He was our Little Man. I haven’t stopped crying since Dr. Tims told me what was going on and even now, almost 2 weeks later, still crying. Zeus had a beautiful soul and a big heart. We had him since we rescued him at 15 weeks old. The staff and Dr. Tims were very knowledgable, compassionate, understanding and professional. They were up front with fees and when I asked to tell it to me straight and not sugar coat anything, they did. We opted for a private cremation for him. Yes, it was a little costly, but he was worth it. Now he can come back home to us and watch over the Pack as an angel. 🐾❤️

We brought our Little Grace Kelly here on a Thursday night. We knew she was very sick, but didn’t know why. We knew this is an emergency hospital and after hour critical care, so of course they charge more. They are there for all animals after vets go home for the day. Dr Jarrett and Dr Lawrence were very good with her. She has pulmonary hypertension and will be on meds for life. If it wasn’t for them, we would have lost her Thursday night, instead of bringing her home on a Saturday afternoon.Front desk was very professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. The techs are fantastic, taking us back to see her in her oxygen cage, answering all our questions.I don’t know what I would have done, if it wasn’t for them.

I’m so hurt for my friend who was referred to the emergency clinic tonight by her vet. Upon entry, they immediately requested she put $600 dollars down for an “estimate” of what they thought the dog might need for evaluation. They said they would give the money back if the dog did not require these tests. This was all prior to assessing her dog! My friend was alone and they took the dog. When the Vet came into the room she showed her an X-ray with a massive abdominal tumor. She suggested euthanasia . She was blunt with no empathy or regard for the magnitude of what she was saying. (This seems to be a habit at this office with so many other complaints that I’ve read tonight)My friend was shocked and had no idea her dog was so ill. She tells the Vet she sees no reason with this prognosis to perform the lab or any other tests and the Vet agreed. The Vet Tech came into the room and said they had already done the lab because that’s what she had agreed too!!!!! The lab was $300. My friend and I are both health professionals and are disgusted by this shoddy treatment and after reading this same exact story in the numerous complaints above I’m surprised anyone would trust their pet or their checkbook to this scam. This clinic should feel ashamed and embarrassed. I could go on about the coldness of the staff but I feel people who care about their animals understand the message.

The 1st time I called the lady was very nice & helpful & suggested I first call animal poison hotline (my dog ate a pan of chocolate brownies) & if they suggested me bring her in to call back & they would be happy to see her. After consulting with the poison hotline they suggested I take her in. So as instructed I called back all to speak with a very rude staff member. She briefly interrupted me stating “I’m going to stop you right there, we are in the middle of a CPR so you can’t come here.” You need to go somewhere else & proceeded to hang up. While I understand CPR is an emergency, she could have put me on hold or why even answer the phone for that matter! Don’t bother going in! I will highly NOT recommend this “emergency” clinic.

Forever thankful to Dr.Megan R. Lawrence and her staff! After a traumatic bike accident with our 5 yr old April (Yorkie) we were referred to FT Worth Animal Hospital due the severity of her injuries. Upon arriving we were literally met at the door by the tech who noticed April bleeding from her mouth. She immediately asked what happened as she rushed April towards the back. After taking a seat and waiting for word she returned and advised us the Dr. would be out shortly to discuss the situation with us. We were then introduced to Dr. Lawrence who seemed so concerned and attentive. Dr. Lawrence explained thoroughly what the outlook for April was. The news that April was more severe than we thought was heart breaking and concerning. After an hour or so we opted to take the 50/50 chance and allow for the needed surgery to take place. We later went home comforted by the fact April was in good hands. Fortunately April did survive the surgery but her outlook overall was not good for a healthy recovery. After careful consideration we had to make the worst decision ever. I must say that this has been a horrible experience when it comes to our baby April but a blessing when it came to being introduced to Ft Worth Animal Hosp. Armando and I are forever grateful to Dr Lawrence and her staff. My experience was truly positive in dealing with the compassionate professionals FT Worth Animal Hosp.Daniel & Armando

I dont normally write reviews, but my experience created some concerns. I brought my dog in who was limp, lethargic, and not taking in any fluids and/or food for over 24 hours. They took my information and had me wait. Then I was put in a waiting room to wait some more. About 1.5 hours in, another person brings in their dog who is wailing in extreme pain. About 20 minutes into that situation, I hear the panicked owner of the dog say what do you mean you dont have a physician here?! He had to gather his dog back up and scramble to find an ER with an actual doctor. I was never told that they did not have a doctor at the time I checked in-- what kind of ER does not have a doctor available?! I was there almost 5 hours-- 2.5 before anyone saw my dog (and because they did not even have a doctor in the facility). I paid almost $500 for service that my vet did not agree with and questioned. I would not recommend this place to anyone for emergency purposes-- go somewhere else-- and I feel for the poor panicked dog owner who relied upon the false information provided by this place that it was a 24-hour ER.

He couldnt walk and we just couldnt bear the cost to have both ACLs repaired. The recovery would have been extensive too. We took him in knowing we had no other choice than to say good-bye. After 8 1/2 years this was the hardest thing Ive ever had to do. The staff was so nice and understanding. They explained everything and gave so much compassion. I personally have not visited this establishment but can assure you I will never take my cat here. I know someone personally who took their pet here and from what they experienced and how they were treated I was in shock. They advised the staff from the beginning how much they could spend on that day and they said no problem we can work with you. The doctors ran all sorts of unnecessary test that had nothing to do with the symptoms their pet was suffering, so much more that it exceeded the amount they told the staff they could pay that day...they literally only care about money at this place and racked up a huge bill and didnt really accomplish anything. The staff even detained them by locking the door and refused to let them leave after several hours, even to take their pet out for the restroom. They finally let them know a diagnosis of what they said their pet was suffering from but refused give them the medicine needed to treat their pet from something that according to the staff could eventually kill the animal if untreated.... payment arrangements were attempted but the staff refused. this place calls themselves a vet clinic? Amazing! Theyd rather let a animal go untreated and possibly die. Stay away from this place

This place is an unethical money-suck.Our 1.5 year-old lab stopped eating for two days and became lethargic, so we took him to our regular vet. They said due to a number of abnormal lab results, he needed constant 24-hr monitoring and IV fluids, and sent us to this emergency vet.Upon arrival, they made us pay $660 up front for a consult from the veterinarian (Dr. Anna)—even though our original vet had already faxed over lab results. Dr. Anna spent a mere few minutes with him and then showed us her recommended treatment plan: Several days of IV fluids and antibiotics for a high-end estimate of $3800. They demanded we pay this up front, and if they didnt use it all theyd reimburse us at the end. There was no time for discussion of finances or treatment or future prognosis or anything, just them saying our dog was in kidney failure and needed the treatment now. After discussing the financials at home, we called the next morning for a status update on his health and to mention that we were concerned about being able to afford the treatment. We asked that they not perform any additional tests until his renal screen results came back that afternoon; they responded But you already paid and agreed to all of this. Three hours and $600 later, they told us they wanted to keep him for another night. Dr. Anna was very short with us and made us feel guilty, saying that if we brought him home that night we would have to sign an AMA and that he would probably regress quickly and die without another night on IV fluids. So we agreed to leave him overnight; she was confident that by the next afternoon he would be in a better condition to come home.We called the next afternoon to check on him, and OF COURSE Dr. Anna insisted he needs another day on IV fluids. We told her we were coming to pick him up regardless, and she hung up on us.Overall, this place was constantly pressuring us—grieving, scared pet owners—rather than honestly discussing our concerns, both for our pets health and our financial health. Its hard to trust any of their medical recommendations when its so obvious they are out to nickel and dime their customers. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

Avoid this emergency room if you have a large breed dogGood Morning,Last Week my two saint bernards were spayed at Trinity Vet in Aurora Texas. If I would have known that the vet(Dr.Stevens) was leaving that evening to Alaska, believe me, I wouldnt have agreed to the surgery due to the risk of injuries they endure. My first payment was $1850 for their spaying. I returned immediately back up to the Vet due to Oreo bleeding through her incisions. Thats when I found out they were communicating to the vet through the cellphone because she was at the airport. Trinity was wonderful in trying but I feel the original vet should have stayed in the area due to their high risk. They bandage her up and when I was driving I notice she was still bleeding through her bandage. I called Fort Worth Emergency let them know the whole situation and they knew there was a huge amount of blood loss. I arrived and they took her back there I was quoted $323 for all the test that just ran an hour ago at the other vet. I was told about 2 hours of her bleeding back there that you did not have enough blood supply and she would need a blood transfusion. I asked if someone could bring the blood from Mansfield and was told no one shares their supply and if the facility(Vet Tim) said, to be honest, he wouldnt give up his own blood supply either. I appreciate honesty but I am disgusted that someone wouldnt want to help another animal that desperately needing the red blood cell pack. I drove another 45 minutes to Mansfield because they had enough blood for a possible transfusion. I spent another $1179 for her to monitored and $275 for the blood to be cleaned out of the truck. I believe none of these bills would of occurred if the previous vet would of stuck around. I am not here to bash this vet place it was very clean and the front desk people were nice and understood my frustration. At this point in time this review just reflects my personal experience. I know not everyone can have a happy experience sometimes.----------------------------------------------------------------------Update from the user. 03/23/2017I was able to reach out to doctor Stevens about Oreos surgery mishap. I found it to be in good character that she would even want to fix the situation and listen to my side of the story. We both came to a discussion that this was a learning experience for us all and even apologies to me about all the stress I had to endure. I feel she was really kind hearted and very sweet about it all. This is the first vet that has ever wanted to reach out to me and I am very pleased with the outcome of the situation. I feel we both have a greater understanding about each other and very respectful towards each other now. I am taking my rating from 1 star to 4 star because the issue has been resolved and we both wanted a good outcome. Thank you for reaching out to me and explaining your side of the story.

I dont usually like to make reviews for anything, but this just really dissappointed me. I had just gotten home from work around 11 pm and I found a small stray cat that had got hit by a car in front of my house. I didnt want to leave him out there alone because I knew he was in pain. I wanted to help him. He had a broken leg, it was so bad to the point where you could see his bone. At this time at night no animal shelter is open so I tried looking up a 24 hr animal hospital near me and this was the nearest one so I called to see if there was anything I could do from home. Now, I know how expensive it can get to get the proper medical attention. But the part that really disappointed me was that when the receptionist answered I asked her if I could possibly get any tips on what to do to at least for the night until I was able to call an animal shelter the next morning and she said shed be right back, so then she put me on hold. I waited for a good 30 mins, my phone in my ear the whole time until I finally realized she probably wasnt going to get back to me. I understand that they can get busy, but it didnt hurt to check to see if I was still on the line and let me know it was going to take a while. I was calling with hopes of getting someone to help me help the poor cat.

My terrier mix was hacking up white foam, and I called to see if they were open and how much it would cost. They told me $120 for the initial exam. I arrive to find out they want approx. $495 more for blood work and xrays. A total of approx. $615.00 for a 15lbs animal. I can go to the doctor [with no insurance] and have a full physical, EKG, and blood work for exactly $200. So what the nurse really meant is they wanted $120 to put my name and phone number in their computer and check her weight & pulse. The Doctor kept pressing me to pay so she can come to a diagnosis. I declined, paid $120 (to show up and park) and left. On my way home the Doctor from the hospital called and said,I need to check the back of Angels (my dog) throat. I wont charge you anything. This causes concern on 2 points: (1) Why didnt the Doctor do this during the initial exam, and (2) How is Dr. Gallivan a professional Veterinarian??? Should that not be standard operating procedure to check the back of my dogs throat if she is the only patient in your hospital void of any type of distraction? It actually terrified me to wonder what they did to my animal while she was out of my site. Luckily, Angel stopped hacking when we arrived back at the house and $120 less for nothing. If you bring your loved family member here, be ready to pay $$$$ for treatment you can find on Google, or cheaper fees elsewhere for the same or better quality (qualified) staff.

Im not the type to leave reviews, but this place is the biggest ripoff/scam I have ever seen. I took my dog in this past Sunday due to some heavy coughing. He was acting very skittish and just generally not like himself, as it was Easter Sunday this was one of the only pet clinics open and I went without checking reviews. Initially walking into the facility it looks very nice and the 2 employees who greeted us at the door were super polite, the nurse who cared for Samson (our dog) was nice and I could tell she really cared for animals in general, this is where the good ends. They did a chem 10 blood test as well as a pancreatitis test, both came back negative, they said it was more than likely just a respiratory infection and gave him cough suppressants, antibiotics and an anti inflammatory, we asked a ton of questions about how we can prevent this and if they were sure that was the issue. Its important to note that my dog is a chihuahua and weighs about 17 pounds, not only did they charge us an arm and leg for these prescriptions THEY GAVE HIM PILLS FOR A LARGE DOG!! Hence why he was feeling so much worse after the visit, they charged me $470 for no answers, bad prescriptions and had the nerve to tell us to come back if its an incorrect diagnosis which would mean charging us another $110 exam fee, he had fluid in his lungs which we could hear whenever he inhaled, they thought nothing of this. All this place cares about is money and trying to get you to come back to pay more, an Xray costs 300 dollars. To contrast this, at the Decatur clinic they did an Xray, blood work and gave us a steroid to clear up the fluid in his lungs all for $92. They also discovered he has a loose tooth and will be doing a deep clean and tooth pull this June. Please avoid these money making scammers, they DO NOT care about your animal.

I brought my 11 week old rotweiller puppy in due to her fever, vomiting and having found unusal substances in her stomach. My Vet completed a parvo test which was negative, completed Xrays, and had her on IV all day. My vet came to the conclusion she needed a barium test to be able to see what was going on in her stomach. My vet called Fort Worth Animal Hospital to discuss the treatment plan to them and when my vet came back in the room, she said they think she has parvo even though her tests were negative. My vet was told by this hospital that they have seen many dogs have a negative parvo test but really have parvo and based on what they are seeing, they believe she has it. So I am extremely scared about my dog possibly having parvo and I take her right over to the hospital. I arrive and there is a girl at the front desk. I tell the girl I am here and my vet had called over to alert them I was coming. I had my puppy wrapped in a blanket and cradling her. I walked to the counter. The girl then says oh she has parvo and asked me to step back. First of all her test is negative and if they are concerned about keeping it contained then they should have been ready to put me in a room to isolate but they didn’t. So I get put in a room and they immediately begin telling me how much I will have to pay. I was told I would have to pay their estimate of care and if they didn’t use it then they would immediately fund it back. The doctor was initially rude and abrupt on answering questions. I was given a 3600 dollar estimate and then close to 4200 dollar estimate that would have to be paid tonight. Now at this point I’m just worried about my dog and not the bill. The estimate was for paying for parvo treatment even though she was negative. After thinking about it, I told them I was taking her to a different hospital because I felt uncomfortable with their care and I could not afford to just give them close to 4000 dollars tonight on expenses that hasn’t occurred. The doctor then immediately changed his attitude and then was so nice but kept talking and talking while I was waiting to get my puppy back. It got to the point I felt like they were stalling on giving me my dog. After a discussion about my concerns the doctor was very nice, but still I felt this hospitals priority was getting money and not the dogs care. I explained I understand giving a deposit but asking for me to pay a bill for charges not occured is absurd. When I finally got my dog back I was told she had pooped diarrhea and she had to wash her off. When she handed me my dog, she smelled so foul it was clear no one was supervising her and she was allowed to roll all over it if that is what really happened. I had to carry her to the car and roll the windows down while I drove her to my friends animal hospital. I was appalled because there is no way she could have been covered with feces to the extent she was unless she was left the whole time unsupervised. My total bill for an X-ray (311.00), labs typical CBC (211.00), and a test for a parasite (46.50) came to a total of 670.00.I went to my friends Vetinary Hospital which is not open 24/7. The vets stayed up at the office to wait for me to arrive. They immediately saw her. They were petting my puppy while examine her. They had no concerns with parvo at this point and they reviewed everything that was already done. They were going to watch her overnight, possibly do a barium to see if it’s a foreign object because that was their concern to find out what was in her belly. They kept her a total of two nights, it was a 500 dollar deposit and the bill was a total of 600.00. They were less than Fort Worth Animal Hospitsl. This is a top notch Vetinary Clinic. They treated my dog with kindness and my dog loved them. I would highly recommend Alavarado Vetinary Clinic. No one discussed money with me and they even forgot to charge the deposit. They first concern was my dog and not the bill. She is doing great and did not have parvo.

We had to bring our 2 year old Belgian Malinois in on a Sunday afternoon when he became very ill.The staff was amazing. They never shied away from our Maligator - who can be a challenge even when he is feeling great. They were friendly and professional and talked us through every step of the process. They gave us options and we never felt pressured. Our final cost was high - but that is to be expected with any emergency surgery. Our Mal is now 100% back to normal and we have the FW Animal Emergency Hospital to thank for that!

We had to bring our cat in on an emergency basis in the middle of the night. The staff was courteous and very caring. The doctor was up front with us about our cats condition which enabled us to make the necessary decisions. Thank you!

My regular vet was out of town so I was told to take my 10year-old dog to FW Animal Emergency Hospital. Stay away from this place!! Its a total rip-off. Within 10 minutes, FW Animal Emergency Hospital charged me $370 to test blood THAT I BROUGHT from my vets office just to tell me what my vet tech told me before I took my pet to the FW Animal Emergency Hospital: her blood count was low. Then the doctor tried to talk me into leaving my pet at their hospital for at least a week for observation and hydration for $800/night!!! Needless to say, I took my dog to another vet. The FW Animal Emergency Hospital organization is unethical, dishonest, and will prey on those who they sense are in distress over the health of their pet.

I just want to thank everyone at this clinic for properly diagnosing our dog and explained to us our multiple treatment options in detail.. also being so understanding of everything we’re going thru and helping us when we needed to refill our baby boys presecroption.. even when he passed Dr. Stroud called us personally and gave us his condolences because he got to know Jak on a personal level when he had to get hip replacements and got diagnosed with cancer. We went to a different place originally for his diagnosis on cancer and they couldn’t tell us what it was.. but Fort Worth Veterinary Specialty And Emergency clinic has the best most sweetest understand staff that helped us every step of the way! You can tell how dedicated and how much each and every animal that comes thru that door means to them! Thank each and every one of you we couldn’t be more thankful!
