Today we went to Perkins Bail Bonds. We talked with Frank Gonzalez who was pleasant. The bond we needed was for $75,000 with $7,500 down and we had to put up property as the collateral for the $75,000. We also needed to arrange for a monitoring ankle bracelet. We were all set to pay the deposit, but first called another bond company, Shamrock Bonds, and talked to Shirley. , We were VERY surprised to find out that we still had to put $7,500 down but since the inmate in question was going to wear a monitor ankle bracelet, no collateral was needed. Needless to say be went with Shamrock Bonds. I think it was unethical that Frank did not tell us we did not have to put up any collateral. Also, the monthly fee for the bracelet, was $50.00 less then what was quoted at Perkins. Looks like a good idea to shop around if you have the time. Before this happened, I thought one company was just as good as the next company.

Only reason that I am not giving it a 1 star is Franky G.My first point of contact with Perkins Bail Bonds with with someone named Franky. He was polite, understood that I was reaching out to possibly assist somone with a bond. Took the information and was professional.Second, Third and Fourth contact was with John, he was rude, nasty, aggressive and threatening. If he hadnt been so creepy on the phone, i probably would have given him my credit card info over the phone but he just sounded sketchy and extremely unprofessional. Apparently, he even threatened the person that I was posting for, that she needed to come in and sit in the office until it was paid She said she was on her way to school, he said he didnt care and she needed to wait in his office. Wow. Then when I told him I would be in at noon, he calls at 11:35 wanting to know where I am. Seriously? Says, its close enough to noon in my book. In every conversation, John is complaining that he has been at work since 8pm and wants to go home, tells me he can just violate her, tells me this will cost his job if he doesnt collect NOW, as if that is my concern, its apparently his job and when he is scheduled. Im sorry he needs nap-time but again not my concern. Absolutely no reason to be a complete jerk to anyone. Then when I arrive he doesnt seem to know what form to use and I ask him for something saying that her bond is paid in full and he grabs a Post-It. Again, SERIOUSLY!!!! Then I said that wasnt acceptable, he storms off, waving his hands and goes outside.Thank heavens that Franky was there. He rewrote the reciept, gave me the info that I needed and again was very professional.Changed my mind, lowering it back to a 1 star. God forbid someone have to deal with this John person.If anyone does use Perkins, make sure you get Franky, hes probably the only reason anyone comes back.
