I use to go to another place to get my haircut. I had a guy named Christian cutting my hair. Probably the best haircuts Ive ever had! Unfortunately he left the place I went to. Yesterday I was told where he went to, Scissors and Sinners. I had been needing a haircut and was happy to know where Christian was working. I made an appointment on line which literally took 5 min. I have been going to Scissors and Sinners for that past three years. Melissa does a great job with my hair and doesnt get after me because I push the time between my appointments too long. If you are looking for a straightforward haircut without all the salon pretentiousness, you have found your place. I recommend booking your appointment online, but you can always do a walk-in if youre willing to potentially wait a bit.

I love this place. I get my hair cut by Victoria every time and I cannot recommend her enough. She not only listens to what I want, but makes suggestions that I always find look awesome. The straight razor neck shave at the end is THE BEST. Its a little pricier, but 100% worth it.

Melissa did a great job with my cut. She added some chunky layers in with my trim, and I love it. It gave my cut so much more texture that went amazingly with my undercut. Who knew everything I needed in a barber was right around the corner from my work! As soon as I walked in, I was included in the conversation that everyone in the shop was a part of and it made me feel right at home.

I searched and tried multiple places across town until I finally found this place. Ironic because it’s the first place my wife said I should try. Loved my old barber but when we moved to this state, I had to find somewhere new. This place will definitely be my go-to barbershop. Not a huge fan of the decor and vibe but the barbers are awesome people and know how to cut some hairs. Chris is a great guy and does an awesome haircut. This place fills up so you’ll want to make a reservation a few weeks out.

Ive gone to S&S twice so far, and have been very satisfied both times. In the past, getting my haircut was a crap shoot. For some reason, a lot of stylists at Great Clips and Super Cuts just dont know how to cut mens hair very well. I was very pleased with my haircuts from S&S and the friendly service. Cool atmosphere and pricing is very reasonable. Also, she cleans up your neckline with some warm shaving foam and a straight razor, which is pretty awesome.

Great haircuts and everyone is nice but if you value your time this is not the barber shop for you.Today was the 3rd or 4th time this year (yes I’m a loyal customer and tried to stick it out) that I waited 15 min or more after my scheduled appointment before I got called. Today not one word was said to me and I had to walk out 15 min after my appointment was supposed to start.Apparently they don’t care about the customers time either...

Awesome place!! Before going here, I tried going to Lucky 27s on Elizabeth and Floyds 99 on South College. I understand that being a NYC native I am a bit spoiled with the quality of haircuts I could get there at any given time... but most of the people at those places were straight up hair butchers (to be fair, the owner of Lucky 27s gave me a cut once and he was super legit... but the other people in both places were really not up to par). With Scissors and Sinners, I would normally call to make an appointment, to which end they were always willing to work with your schedule. The barber of my choice is Desiree, she ALWAYS did a great job. Without fail she would leave me looking and feeling super fresh and would leave me looking exactly the way I wanted, every time. In a town that is not very big with its barber shop scene, I highly recommend her and, to be honest, any of the other barbers at this location. They all seem to be on top of their game, which is HIGHLY appreciated.

The only shop I’ve gone to for 9 years, this place has declined. The neck massagers are long gone, neck shaves appear only with request, and the last 3 visits have all made me wait at least 15-20 minutes past my appointment time; one of which was actually 45 minutes late. The guy, who is no longer there, said the haircut would be free and then still charged me half price. They have a lot of turnover so it’s rare to have the same barber which is also a change from the past. Finally, my most recent visit ended in a very uneven neckline which I feel is the one part of a cut that is hard to justify doing wrong. I can no longer recommend this establishment to others.

Cool decor, not returning.Called in the same day to check if they had any availability for that day. Person on the phone said they were able to book me for 2:30, took my information and confirmed my appointment. 2:30, came around and I walked in 5 minutes early. One of the staff said someone could help me in a just a moment. I ended up waiting for another 25 mins. During this time they took in other people that came in after me, and nearly finished their haircut before anyone talked to me. It was rather annoying because atleast during 15 mins of waiting, the staff were walking around talking and joking with one another while I patiently waited. Eventually, after playing around on their phone. Someone eventually asked what time my appointment was, which I said it was for 2:30. I was told they didn’t have any appointments made (I checked the number I called, I did), and that the earliest I could be seen was 4 days later...which was a bit of a slap to the face after waiting the amount of time the hair cut would have taken, and 3 out of the 4 staff members were not with a customer. Just shows lack of care for any new customers, wasn’t offered anything for the trouble. Just meet with wait a week.

I use to LOVE this place. One of the old workers knew what I wanted in a trim haircut. The last girl cut my hair like a 40 year old women then charged $25 for it. Seriously, it was the worst haircut ever.I wish I knew where the old barber went cause she ran this place. She did a great job and that is why this has such good reviews. Its not even close now.

Ive been here a few times and have come home to disappointment to find that my neckline is crooked or my fade has lines in it or most recently that I had the majority of my hair cut off the top when all I said was take a little. Ive had very mixed emotions about this place and I honestly want to like it but they are making it very hard and whats with the inconsistent pricing.....one time Im charged 15 the next Im charged 24 what gives? Also sometimes offered the massage and others not at all I guess its based on whether the person likes you or not :/

The girl tried to be friendly but did a terrible job on my haircut. Ill NEVER get back to them and will NEVER recommend them to anybody. They say they have a shampoo wash and neck massage included but they never did that (even didnt ask me if I wanted). BTW, their shop is not as clean and pretty as it looks in the pics. Just avoid them if you dont want to waste your money!

Ive been about half a dozen times and every time theyve given me a perfectly clean cut with a great fade. They listen to what you what and take the time to get to know you.

Normally this is my go to place. I even convinced my Mom enough that she bought a haircut and shave for three of our family members.I called in advanced 4 days, showed up 10min early, theyre closed. What day is it? Monday. What time is the appointment for? 4pm

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I hired one of the stylist, Taylor, to do the hair and make- up for my wedding and SHE DIDNT SHOW UP! She was bringing all of the hair tools/supplies and the make-up for myself and my bridesmaids, so when she didnt show we had nothing with us to do our own. We had to search and borrow from the venue, family members and guests for make-up and hair styling products. We were two hours late to the alter, which left us with less than half the time we had to take photos between the ceremony and the reception and had to rush through them and cut out a lot of poses we wanted to get, and an even more rushed reception which was supposed to be 4 hours but now was a 2 hour reception. Her actions cost us over a thousand dollars: we had paid the photographer extra to have two photographers, a male and female, so we could have getting ready photos taken as well as paid for extra time for additional group photos- all of which could not happen since we were now running around trying to get ready on our own which put us behind. Wasted money on some of the activities we had planned for the reception that had to be cut. There was only 20 min for guests to dance, so the DJ was paid to just talk instead of entertain. The cocktail hour was cut out, but we were still had to pay for the food since it was prepared. Not to mention the hair extensions and false eyelashes I bought, per her suggestion, that I had no idea how to put on so they sat there, unused and wasted for the wedding. I had paid her for a trial run prior to the wedding which was now a waste of my money and time. I received no call before, during, or after the wedding from the stylist with an explanation or apology. I had continuously checked in with her the month prior to the wedding all the way up to TWO DAYS prior to the wedding and she said she was all set to go; so there are no excuses for not showing up for the job she was hired for. Even if an emergency came up, YOU SEND A REPLACEMENT! The amount of emotional damage caused to me is far worse than the money lost.Your wedding day is the one day you want to look as beautiful as you can. I was far from that due to crying my eyes out when she didnt show, having to run around for an hour searching for products instead of relaxing and being pampered, and then quickly applying my own make-up because my guests were already waiting two hours for the ceremony to start. And my hair, well, the only thing I didnt think to have a back up plan was my hair style. So the one I was suppose to have I now couldnt have and had to wing it on my own at a very sad attempt to make it look done up. It was a cluster and so rushed through; she robbed me of the joy in my wedding. NO MATTER WHAT THE EXCUSE, THIS WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I WOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE SUPPORTING A BUSINESS WHOS EMPLOYEES HAVE NO WORK ETHICS OR STANDARDS.
