They are cash only folks, no insurance. I read the little blurb on their site about the negative side of insurance and it is nothing but circular arguments and half truths. ( e.g. the part about an in network deductible, which is true and normal, but it applies way more so out of network. Hardly a negative point against in network.).They may be great, who knows. But I can’t afford $600+ a month, per person, to find out.

My experience with Dr. Kay Trotter was very cathartic and positive. I was a client for several years on a fairly regular basis. Through my work with her, I was able to develop an excellent tool kit for healing and progress. I also participated in a parenting seminar which fostered a strong foundation for teaching my child to navigate lifes ups and downs. I would (and have!) highly recommend Kaleidoscope/Dr. Trotter to anyone searching for a healing counseling experience.

I heard of Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health through Dr. Kay Trotter. I met Dr. Trotter at a retreat in New York, NY. Im a therapist myself and I am also looking to refer to strong, warm, caring organization such as Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health. Dr. Trotter and her team of experienced and caring therapist raises the bar to mental health care. They offer an incredibly diverse approach to mental health and wellness. They have individual and family counseling, animal assisted therapy, play therapy, group therapy, etc. As a clinician looking to refer my clients to for other types of support, Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health is the place to send them. I would also recommend visiting their website and check out the equine assisted support. I already love horses and to have horses as co-therapists just takes emotional and psychological support to a whole new level. Thank you for all you do for the community Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health!!!!

We took my 5 year old to Dr. Trotter because we were having behavioral issues and we didnt know how to respond. The first day my daughter had play therapy, she returned to my car and said, Mommy, Dr. Kay knows all of my feelings. Her statement was cute and funny and so true. My daughter LOVED her time in play therapy and we were able to get some tools to help us at home. We have used much of what we learned over the past 2 years and are so thankful for the help and resources we received at Kaleidoscope.

I have referred and will continue to refer clients to Kay Trotter and Jason McCoy. These individuals not only care about their clients and have sought out extra training in working in their specialties--- but are devoted to other active practioners in the community in promoting and facilitating training in how to work with children. It has been an honor to serve with them on the North Texas Chapter of the Texas Association of Play Therapy (Kay as President and Jason as the President-elect)!

I really can’t say enough good things about Dr. Jason McCoy. He is AMAZING!!!! Our son saw him for close to a year for issues he was having with anxiety. Jason not only taught our son tools to help him when he’s feeling anxious, he also helped my husband and me have a better understanding of how we can help our son when he’s feeling that way. It’s been several months since our son last saw Dr. Jason, and he still talks about how much Dr. Jason helped him! Throughout the entire process, Dr. Jason was nothing but kind, courteous and professional. We were so confident in his ability to help our son that we were willing to drive over 45 minutes one way each week! We are truly thankful that we found Dr. Jason. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of counseling services!!!

Dr. Trotter is a trusted colleague. Over the past 10 years I have referred families to her practice for evaluations, traditional therapy and equine assisted therapy. All have shared with me their 100% satisfaction with her services which is why I continue to refer clients to her practice.

We have been here for our child several times before and stopped coming due to me working out of state. My wife wanted to continue treatment so she called to set up an appointment to find out we would have to do another consultation without our child to get started again. With our schedule only permitting us to see the therapist biweekly so this would put my child out 1 month, not to mention i have already done the parent meeting and it would be useless. That is not where my problem is, my problem is that my wife requested Dr.Jason to please call so we could get my little guy started sooner and she could come in and do the consult sooner. Well he decided to disrespect my wife by emailing, not even calling to tell her that he was canceling our appointment because its not the right time in our lives to use him for my sons needs. I would NEVER recommend anyone to use this practice and would hope the practice owner sits down with Jason and informs him on how he should treat paying customers.

Called to schedule an appointment, all doctors at this practice do not take insurance and are not willing to work with you. Recommend finding doctors in your network that take your insurance. No wonder why so many people have mental health issues, it is not affordable.
