We went on the family friendly sunset cruise. We dont have kids and there were some on board but the vibe is so much more relaxed than the adult only byob cruise. We still brought our own adult beverages (you can apparently bring them on any of their cruises per their website) and enjoyed the evening. The family friendly one has narration from the captain, who was dry and hilarious. We got some history about the island and surrounding areas. We saw dolphins and the wild horses. It was lovely and laid back. If youre looking for more of a party atmosphere then the adult only is for you. But this was more our pace, very relaxing and beautiful! Everyone who works for this family run business was great to interact with, would highly recommend.
My grandpa, little sister and I, went on the Eco tour! It was so much fun, my grandpa absolutely LOVED it, my little sister got to help pull in our net, hold some of the fish we caught, and release them back! we saw pods of dolphins, a loggerhead sea turtle, birds, and got alot of information about the islands history! it was absolutely amazing and the tour guides were the best!
Loved it! We did the booze cruise at sunset and the live music was fantastic! The captain and mate were friendly and informative about the local area and even spoke a bit about the wildlife and Cumberland Island. The dolphins following the boat were very entertaining as well! Would recommend completely! Mostly, it was a party on a boat and very relaxing! We will be going again and would like to try their wildlife or history centered tours in the future!
Nate and Mark were the pilots and narrators of our cruise. I enjoyed the vast amount of information that was given, but also the passionate easy that the stories were told. It was great that they slowed down and waited for everybody to get a good glimpse of the dolphins when we were already past time to return. I suggest going and enjoying the tour.
I enjoyed the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, the boats were comfortable and the tour left on time. I will tell you to make sure you sit in the front open area or on the right side though because everything he talks about is on the right side of the boat and you cant see it from the left. It was a good value though and I do recommend.
Everything about this family friendly cruise was simply perfect. The captain spoke so clearly-the first time that I have been on a guided tour & could understand everything that was said. We were fortunate enough to see several dolphins & one sea turtle. We learned so much history about our little area. We live here, but sometimes it’s fun to play tourist in your own city. The crew provides blankets for any passengers that are cold. My family of four sat in the front of the boat, but never needed a blanket. The weather was great! The dolphins were the best part of the cruise, followed by the beautiful sunset. I’m positive we will sail again with this charter.I highly recommend the family cruise!
Very informative. The captain and host were great. I would highly recommend this tour.
We LOVED this cruise! We took the beach Creek tour. Our captain, Kurt, was knowledgable, and funny. He obviously enjoys his job and shared his enthusiasm for the area with us. We saw egrets, white and brown pelicans, blue herons, a juvenile bald eagle, wild horses, and other animals. Kurt shared personal history and stories of the people who lived on the island. We would take this tour again. Covid-19 precautions were followed as well. THANK YOU!
The river cruise was fantastic. Great info on local history and ecology. Highly recommended.
Great way to see a bit of Cumberland IslandI always wanted to see Cumberland island so we took this cruise. We took the Beach Creek Tour. Both the captains were funny yet super informative. It was interesting to learn about the islands history as well as neighboring Cumberland Island. We were also lucky to catch a glimpse of a few dolphins & some of the wild horses on Cumberland Island and some large birds. It was hot but not unbearable since the water spray does come into the boat and the breeze is nice. We booked a weekday assuming there would be fewer guests than a weekend tour.Thankfully the boat is mostly covered but theres an uncovered area toward the bow.TIPS:- Check-in is across the street from the Amelia Island Welcome Center & Salty Pelican.- Bring water and snacks otherwise there is bottled water available in cooler ($1 donation)- Remember cash for tips basket - the captains are very sweet
We have been doing this cruise for 8 years years for our anniversary. This time we felt a little cheated by the crew. They spent soo much time idling when they saw a single dolphin or single horse. They didnt go back in the creeks to see the ruins. When I asked why we werent going that way the captain said the tide wasnt right and he wouldnt be able to go back more than a couple turns due to the tides. It literally was high tide when he told me this. Water was all the way to the marsh grass. My opinion it was easier to idle around in the intercoastal than actually navigate the creek. On a positive note the music from Kevin Ski was awesome. For what we paid we expected the cruise to keep cruising not just stop and idle for soo long.
Highly recommend. Very knowledgeable Captain. Learned a lot about the island and its history.
My husband and I enjoyed every minute of this boat ride. It rained for a little bit but we were fine under the awning. The music was great and the sights and sunset were beautiful! The ordering online and picking up tickets at the booth were both quick and easy.
Fantastic experience. Highly recommended for a everyone. Great date night idea, or bring the kiddos along. Theyll love it too. Great narration by Captain Kevin. Nothing negative to say.
This was a great trip. Chandler was our captain and made sure to point out all of the important sites. We also saw a large pod of dolphins feeding. I only regret not booking more time!
Took the Cumberland Island tour. The Captain have an excellent historical narration. You can bring food and drinks. They only have bottled water on the boat. There is a bathroom on the boat or you can use the comfort station across the street beside the welcome center.
We booked the Cumberland trip and had a fantastic time. We had our 2 young kids and a teen and everyone enjoyed themselves. Lots of history with very knowledgeable captains. Very relaxed ride. We saw horses and dolphins on our trip.
We arrived within about 7 minutes of the board boarding and they gave us a courtesy call which I thought was really nice. The captain and Co captain were very friendly and kept the cruise entertaining. The tour wasnt rushed and it was very informative which I didnt expect, both my husband and I thought it was cool to hear the history behind some of the landmarks. Out daughters first time on a boat tour and they enjoyed seeing the dolphins and horses. We come to Amelia Island yearly and we definitely will do this again.
Amazing tour!!! We were lucky enough to see deer at Fort Clinch, Wild Horses at Cumberland Island and Dolphins! I know the company cant control those things but besides that it was very informative and entertaining and we saw a gorgeous sunset. Will make this a top priority when we visit again!
Took the Family Sunset Cruise as a way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our captain and the first mate did an excellent job of telling us about the history of Amelia Island/Fernandia Beach. Never would have thought Fernandia Beach be the main shipping port for the island of Bermuda. Also enjoyed seeing parts of Cumberland Island and Fort Clinch. These guys did an awesome job of pointing out the wild horses and dolphins. Highly recommend this cruise.
We did the family friendly 1 hour sunset tour and had a great time! The tour guides were super relaxed and just wanted everyone to have a good time/share some information about the area. The boat was comfortable. Beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend.
Wonderful tour! We are so fortunate to have such fun and educational experiences in our community. Our family had a blast. Thank you!
Went on this cruise over Memorial Day and had an amazing time! We did the 1.5 hour tour and it was plenty of time on the boat and took us everywhere we needed to be. I wish we could have gotten a little closer to the ruins of the mansion, but we saw so many other things (including wild horses in the distance). If you call ahead they will allow you to bring dogs so I was able to bring my (well-behaved) dog on the cruise. This made a huge difference since I was traveling with my companion.
First class! Exceptional captain/tour guide made it so much fun as we circled the island and as he pointed out landmarks. Highly recommended!
We had an awesome time. Our guide was friendly, funny and informative! Not obnoxious like some guides can be. Well definitely be back next time were in Amelia!
Very informative and fun tour! You wont regret sughtseeing and learning the rich history of the area.
A well-narrated tour leaving from Amelia island, Fernandina Beach, and continuing up the eastern coast of Cumberland Island. Lots of interesting history of the region. Also saw a good number of wild horses. Very enjoyable.
It was very enjoyable. Based on my personal experience in person, I definitely suggest bringing sunscreen/ an extra long sleeve shirt weather permitting/ fully charged smartphone or better yet a good digital camera and certainly binoculars. The one tough thing to deal with is slowing down to a crawl when its warm and sitting at the bow of the boat. Really warm when theres no wind and not wearing proper attire. Water is definitely recommended! Most passengers bring very little based on their needs and wants. Its better to bring more then you need then nothing at all. Overall I very much enjoyed it.
This is an amazing experience. The captain was very knowledgeable, and full of dad jokes (which I love) and his wife was the sweetest. It is well worth the money.
Wonderful cruise for our anniversary. They shared some historical and current information on Amelia Island, as well as some great information on Cumberland island. Saw horses and dolphins, including a dolphins giving birth!Great tour, the captain of was awesome
This is a must even if you have been to the island before, very informative and such a beautiful place. We took the sunset tour which was amazing. Great history of the town and its past. A++++++ . Will definitely book another. The entire staff are devoted to making it exciting and memorable.
Mark, a delightful raconteur. Kurt, equally spell-binding. Probably the finest tour--terrestrial, aquatic, historic, natural, aesthetic, architectural, or inter-galactic--Ive ever taken. Will return one day to Fernandina Beach mainly to take another ARCC cruise. Cannot rave enough about the experience.
An absolute must thing to do! The Captains are excellent and the service cant be beat! We have toured 4 times now and will be back for the 5th in October. Very knowledgeable staff and very fun for all ages!
Tour guide was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and informative!!! Boat ride was smooth. We did see some horses and dolphins. We also saw a submarine which was pretty cool. The only problem I had was the seats... very hard. I wish they were cushioned. Next time, I will bring my own cushion. I wanted to add this so others know. Other than that, I would have given it 5 stars!
Educational and informative. A lovely 2.5 hrs on the waters around Cumberland Island. If you go, ask for Captains Kurt and Bob... both are very knowledgeable and Bob is a great story-teller about the Islands history.
My husband and I just finished this cruise earlier today. It was so much fun! The captain was knowledgeable and entertaining. We seen dolphins that came right up to the boat and horses on Cumberland Island. This cruise is a must do for anyone touring historic Fernandina Beach.
Have done the many times always fur the Caption always has great stories And very knowledgeable about his Cruse
THIS IS A MUST DO ACTIVITY! Captain Curt and Captain Bob were fantastic. They both have an excellent sense of humor and are clearly experts on the Amelia and Cumberland Island areas. It is apparent that they have an appreciation for the area and its preservation. We took the Cumberland Island tour and learned alot about the history of both islands. We were lucky enough to be able to observe lots of nature including dolphins, birds and the wild horses of Cumberland Island. The boat was comfortable and we were able to choose if we wanted to be in the sun or under the shade of the pontoon boat. They offer other cruise options that all sounded interesting depending on what sort of interests or ages you are trying to appeal to. The cruise departs from downtown Fernandina which made it a great place to dock after the cruise because there are so many great places to eat. I think that this is worth every penny!
As part of a Meetup group, I had reservations for this companys wonderful 3-hour boat tour. Because of weather all of us in the Meetup group had to cancel all at the same time. Angela was immediately available on the phone and took less than 2 minutes to cancel for each of us individually. This cruise is one of the best in the area and clearly the staff and the people that run this business are reputable, kind, expeditious and expert in what they do... in every way!!!
Captain and narrator were great! Entertaining, funny and educational. Learned a lot about the history of the islands, the people and the water. Would definitely go again.
We enjoyed the history from Kurt and Benny. We saw beautiful views and wildlife gator, wild horses and dolphins and a few I dont remember. Great trip I highly recommend it.
We took the sunset and the Cumberland cruises. Kurt was the captain for both. They were both informative and helpful in pointing out the sights. Between the 2 we saw many horses, Turkey, raccoon, many dolphins, coast guard with machine guns, a navy sub going out to sea and much more. Price was fair. You are on vacation, so open your wallet and do things you can’t do at home. Will try another one next time. Thanks!
It was so nice and informative it was the highlight of our mini vacation! Got a few laughs nice boat ride and almost wished we had done this again instead of taking the Cumberland Island ferry to Cumberland the next day!
Capable, conscientious, knowledgeable crew. Prices are very reasonable, and we saw way more wildlife and other sights than we expected. My second time this year, and I hope to return in the future.
Did the sunset cruise, 1 hour before the sun goes down. Perfect as it was hot as blazes outside during the day, but was totally enjoyable in the evening. Saw some feral horses, fort clinch, dolphins and some islands. It’s a boat ride, on water, in a river. I’m sure you get it.
Had an awesome time on the BYOB cruise.
Havent been out yet, scheduling conflicts on my end. But theyre gaining momentum & thats great. Family friendly adventures & caters to everyone.
Live animals kids got to see and dolphin pods!
Had a great time . Everyone was happy and quite buzzed. The music was great and the scenery was awesome.
Loved the ride. Very informative. Better than I expected.
Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing. So interesting and educational. The boat captain was great. I have done this ride many times and love it each time always we learn something new. Highly recommend this boat ride.
So much fun I did two in two days! Both captains entertaining and informative!
The Sunset cruise was amazing! You’re able to see the gorgeous sunset and there’s room for everyone to see the view! It was cool that you cross into Georgia! I can’t wait to come back here.
Great tour around Amelia Island and Cumberland Island. Thank you very much all the way from NY!
It was very nice, got to see alot of sea critters and the crew were very nice and funny.. the kids loved being able to see and touch all the stuff
The best time!! You will truly enjoy this experience..memories in the making!
What a great crew we had today. They were so full of knowledge and their love for this area shows. We stopped a few times to grab garbage floating in the water. We saw dolphin, horses on Cumberland Island and manatees. Would definitely go again!
I had a great time on the cruise for my Birthday. The sunset was breathtaking.
Love the sunset. It was to die for. I really had a great time.
It is the most fun an adult can have on Amelia! Book early though, they book up quick. We were on the wait list and took the space of a cancellation. We even got to see wild horses and Manatees!! They hope to show you them but sometimes you arent lucky. Make sure to bring your own booze but most people are friendly and will share. Dont forget to tip the captian and band!
This was my 3rd Cumberland Island tour & they dont disappoint. Highly recommend this tour.
Nice evening cruise on Amelia. The ships captain and first officer conducted an informed cruise. Thank you .
Lots of fun. We did the Eco tour. Started off in a Florida downpour, I really had doubts. The tour took off and after a few minutes the rain let up. We saw dolphins and caught all kinds of really cool creatures in the net. The kids had a great time.
What a great time! You will not be disappointed!..I promise!
Been on boat tours all ever in different states this is the best one me and the wife has ever been on captain was great at what he does will definitely book again when back in town
We took the 7pm Amelia River Cruise. We sat at the front of the boat, and the water was very choppy. We got completely soaked, along with the other passengers sitting in the front. If this had been called the “Amelia Rapids Adventure”, we would have dressed accordingly, but “Amelia River Cruise” didn’t give us any indication of needing to wear ponchos so as not to get soaked. We’re talking “fell in a pool” soaked. Otherwise it was great!
The cruise was entertaining, educational and full of wildlife. Although the Captain talked a bit fast for me, he and the first mate were top notch. A great value.
The vast personal knowledge of the area shared was fascinating. Very fun trip. I would recommend this tour for everyone.
Great service! Highly recommended…
The cruise was very fun and worth it. Got to see different places and it was very educational
Great ride..interesting information...beautiful scenery 👌
Fabulous afternoon river cruise with excellent guide. Able to view dolphins, wild horses, and birds galore. Funny and knowledgeable guide.
