We did the Cumberland Island tour and our guides Rachel and Jack were so lovely! They had a lot of knowledge to share and were great to chat with. The paddle across the channel was a bit intense with the wakes from other boats so I wouldnt recommend this trip to someone who hasnt kayaked before. The check in process and everyone we encountered was just awesome. We went at high tide and got to paddle through some of the channels on the island and see the horses. We also got to beach the kayaks and walk around for a bit. We even got to see the submarine come through which was SO COOL. The kayaks and equipment were in great condition. This company really care about what they do and it shows. Honestly my only complaint was our life jacket smelled a little sour, like other peoples sweat. But I would highly recommend this company!!

Took a 4th of July Cumberland Island boat tour. A storm was brewing which caused us to move faster than ideal but we were grateful to be able to fit it in, between rain storms. Well definitely plan again for a better weather day. Seeing the Wild Horses along the Island was a vacation highlight and just being on the water, a real treat. Thomas, our guide was full of great information. Cant wait to get our pictures back.

We had a great sunset cruise around Amelia Island. This was the first thing we did when we arrived for our vacation. That was a perfect choice, as our guide was so great about filling us in on the island and what to do and see and giving us the general perspective of the location. The pictures were fabulous and such an amazing added value! Would definitely recommend Amelia Adventures!

Excellent kayak adventure that was scenic, fun and just the right amount of challenging. We loved our guide, Rachel, who did an awesome job navigating us around the area while sharing some of the history along the way. We took a 2 hour private boat tour to Cumberland Island and loved it!! Chandler was a fantastic captain and very knowledgeable of the area. He was very kind and made the entire trip enjoyable. Will definitely do it again!

Enjoyed the Cumberland Island kayak trip with my family of 5 (3 kids: 17, 19, 21). Our guides Jeff & Will were great! They were informative about the island & the habitat. We saw dolphins, jellyfish, numerous birds, & several wild horses during high tide. We even saw a submarine being brought through the river/waterway with the Coast Guard. Highly recommend!

We participated in a kayak tour from Amelia Island to Cumberland Island. Our guide Stacey did an excellent job preparing us for the trip and educating us on absolutely everything we saw as well as history of both islands. We cant wait to do this again!

Absolutely amazing experience with Jeff as our captain this weekend. He was so helpful and engaging, sweet to the kids. We saw so many dolphins and wild horses. The tour was a great experience and so much fun for our family. It was nice having just our family on the boat. It made for a great memory with grandparents.

I purchased provate boat tour for my parents anniversary! They had a great time and raved about how nice / knowledgeable the captain (Thomas) was and how nice the boat was. I talked to Cathering on the phone who was very nice and helped set everything up! Worth every penny!

Rachel and Will were very friendly and made us feel comfortable even though we didnt know what we were doing (it was my first time out). The wind and tide were against us as we went out and I was having difficulty steering and keeping up. Will was kind enough to attach a tow rope and keep me on track and together with the group so I didnt miss out on the fun. Both Rachel and Will were knowledgeable about the wildlife and the history, and two-and-a-half hours passed very quickly. We had a great time!

Fun experience with a knowledgeable guide. They stayed with us but let us set our own varied paces throughout the trip so we never felt rushed or held back. I highly recommend anyone wanting to try kayaking out to give Amelia adventures a go.

The folks that work there are very friendly and flexible. They will answer any questions you may have and attempt to accommodate your specific needs. We took the kayaks on Lofton Creek and we loved it. It is easy going with no waves and the water is amazing.

Our group of five older adults scheduled a kayak tour from Fernandina Beach to Cumberland Island. We were all fairly novice kayakers, however we had been on trips with this group in the past. The young lady in the shop took time to explain what was going to occur, making sure we were all comfortable with the trip, and gave us easy directions to the boat launch.Our guide for this trip was Rachel, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was very knowledgeable, had wonderful people skills, and made us all feel very comfortable as we began our trip. Rachel gave us a nice background of the area as we were paddling, and her love of the sport was very evident. This was our first ocean kayak trip, and I learned very helpful basics as we were moving out. When we arrived at beautiful C I we had a chance to explore a bit. Rachel shared island history and we even saw several of the wild horses in the distance.Our return trip was beautiful, the wind had shifted greatly, so we really had to work hard….but it was absolutely amazing and Rachel was extremely supportive as we paddled our way past historic Fort Clinch and arrived at our home dock.This was an incredible experience for all of us, right from the moment we began. We are planning to do this tour again, slowly working up to the longer C I tour.We need to profusely thank Amelia Adventures and their staff for being kind and patient, and for providing us with a trip that will remain in our memories for a lifetime!!

The sunset cruise with Amelia Adventures was one of our favorite parts of our recent visit to Amelia Island. Having our own private tour made the evening even more special. We loved our kayaking trip! Our initial journey had to get cancelled due to weather but they were super quick at rescheduling an alternative trip for us! We ended up kayaking past 4 gators and a few turtles! I would recommend going on a kayaking trip with them and plan on going on another one next time we visit!

What a truly wonderful experience on the Sunset Cruise with Jeff. Before leaving the dock, we felt as if we were departing with a true friend. Our family of four took the guided boat trip along the coast of Cumberland. It was a wonderful outing. We saw three different groups of wild horses - about 12 in total - along the coast of Cumberland and also saw several dolphins not far from the boat. Our guide was great, and the high-quality photos he took were a nice bonus. I definitely recommend this trip.

My husband and I sought to experience paddle boarding on the marsh off of Amelia Island through Amelia Adventures. Unfortunately, the day we were scheduled for was very windy and we were told that we would have to paddle board Lofton creek. Being locals, we had already been down Lofton creek and were looking for new adventures. The owner said we could have our deposit refunded or just schedule for another day. We attempted to schedule another day while we were there but were told that they were booked out for a “ways”. We tried to contact them to reschedule again but were met with very few options (offered lessons but we already know how to paddle board…) so simply requested a refund of our deposit.This request was met with a bad attitude but we did receive a refund. My family and I have had much better, more last minute, and kinder experiences with the other numerous rental options on the island.Additionally, it began to rain very shortly after we left so the weather was not suitable for the activity anyways.

My dad and I kayaked with Madison as our guide on Lofton Creek. Madison is a very knowledgeable guide entertaining us with history of the area and his jokes! He greeted us upon arrival, provided clear guidance and instructions. The equipment was clean and in good condition. Lofton Creek is a beautiful calm creek. This journey is good for all ages and all experience levels.Had I had more time in the area I would have booked a trip along another waterway with Amelia island kayaking excursions! Try it...youll love it!

Matt was an awesome tour guide. We booked the Cumberland Island tour for our anniversary. We saw wild horses, dolphins and other interesting sites. Very relaxing. I should note we had perfect weather. Everything was done on time and as advertised.

We had a fantastic tour today! Will was a really awesome guide. Very helpful and friendly and also super knowledgeable about local plant life and wildlife. We saw two alligators, a hawk, a red-bellied woodpecker, hummingbirds, lots of turtles, and lots of beautiful native plants. We also had a first-time kayaker with us who is 69 and cant swim, and she had a wonderful time and felt very safe on Lofton Creek in a tandem kayak with my husband. Highly recommend the tour. It was a gorgeous morning and fun for both beginner and experienced kayakers. This is our second tour with this company, and we have had an amazing time both times. They also provide high-quality photography of you and the things you see on your tour for free! Definitely looking forward to our next trip and wouldnt consider any other tour group!They were also super flexible about weather. We really wanted to kayak with them but rain was forecast. They got back in touch with me quickly after I messaged and let me know that I should just book and that theyd refund my deposit if rain meant that we couldnt go on the trip. Thankfully, the weather worked out, but it was great to be able to book with confidence.

I hired the boat and Captain Thomas Oliver for the Cumberland Island tour, including the harbor, Tiger Island and Fort Clinch. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Amelia Island. It was a beautiful day, but a bit windy. Thomas captained the boat to perfection, always positioning the boat to give us the best views of birds, wild horses, beautiful plants, and the Dungeness ruins. Thomas also has a wealth of knowledge of the area including identifying wildlife and where to find it, history of the area, the local economy, as well as great places to see and eat. My wife and I, our son and his wife and our one year old grandson went along for a great day. Worth every penny I spent and highly recommend the trip to everyone. Thanks for a great day Thomas!

Called on Saturday morning to see if they could fit us in and they were very responsive and worked to fit us into the 1:15 that day. we also left some sunscreen in one of the life jackets and they were sweet enough to leave it by the front door for us to pick up at our convenience. This was our first time kayaking and I was full of questions. Catherine did an excellent job right from the beginning answering all of our concerns and guiding us to the best experience for my family of 5 (3 kids - ages 11, 10, & 8). She prepared us for the trip (what to wear & bring) and let us know who our guide would be for the 2-hour excursion. Our guide, Stacy, was absolutely amazing! He made us feel at ease in the water and he was great with helping my 11 & 10 year old in their tandem kayak. On top of that, he was just great with kids. They were entertained and excited the whole trip. It was peaceful, scenic, and just a great way to spend an afternoon. I will definitely kayak again with Amelia Adventures & Kayak! We finally had a day off at the inn and paddled Egans Creek in the early morning going with the tide down and back. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable since he also works as ranger at Fort Clinch. This is one of the best views of the Amelia Island lighthouse. We always refer our guests to Amelia Adventures and they rave about their experience when they return. This was our first time kayaking....ever and it was AWESOME!! Our guide Stacy was super friendly, helpful, and very knowledgable of the area and wildlife in Egans Creek. He was a great teacher and made sure we all felt at ease on the water. Our group ranged in ages 11-74 and Stacy made sure we all enjoyed ourselves, he even towed my dad along when his shoulder injury started hurting. It was the perfect day with tons of bird watching and even a visit from a dolphin! I would highly recommend Amelia Adventures and our guide Stacy. We will definitely be booking another trip come spring break!

We went on a 2hr eco tour and loved it. Capt. Carol was very friendly and informative. She knew exactly where to take us during the tour. We were able to see multiple horses on Cumberland island as well as dozens of Dolphins, right next to the boat even. I would highly recommend it for anyone that likes nature and being on the water.

We had a great time on a site seeing tour. We saw wild horses on Cumberland, Dophins swimming besides the boat and also learned a ton about the area. Would do again and thanks for a fun time!!

The guides were friendly and welcoming and had all necessary gear in place. My wife and I did a self-guided tour, so they just explained where we needed to go and when we needed to be back at the boat ramp. On our way back, we passed by the guides and a guided tour, and they simply said that we could just drop the boats off at the boat ramp or continue upstream if we wanted. My wife and I were very pleased with our experience with Amelia Adventures. The river, by the way, is beautiful. Plenty of awesome flora and fauna to look at and take pictures of. There were no mosquitos, which was awesome. I would not recommend swimming in the river, though. The tannic acid (which is what prevents the mosquitos from breeding) makes the water appear black and there are dead trees in the middle of the river. If youre not careful, you could get snagged by a branch and get pulled under. The current is not strong, but submerged trees can still be dangerous. Additionally, while we did not see any gators in the river, warmer weather will likely make them more active. We did see several large splashes, however, which leads me to believe we may have either scared what gators were out on the water or they were just fish swimming to the surface.

My husband and I went on a private boat tour of Cumberland Island with Carole. She was fantastic!! She is a fountain of knowledge about the area and the animals that inhabit it. We were very impressed. We got to see a bald eagle, an oyster catcher, white pelicans and dolphins. She took pictures for us and explained the behaviors of the animals we saw. It was thrilling. A perfect escape from the hardships of Covid.

Had a wonderful morning paddle with Stacy and Margarita!! Stacy explained why he navigated the course we took to Cumberland and it was so cool learning about winds and tides on the way there. Great pristine beach with impressive shells and crabs on the jetty and even saw a pair of dolphins and a turtle in the water! Margarita’s knowledge of plant and sea life was an added bonus and helped make the trip even more fun and interesting. Great trip for novice paddlers as we all were and would definitely recommend for a great way to spend a few hours with friends or family!

We really enjoyed our trip. Matt did a great job taking as much time needed to see the things that interest us. We plan to come back and plan a trip while tide is up. We saw horses and ruins on Cumberland Island but would have loved to see horses closer. We couldnt get close due to tide. But we enjoyed our tour, our guide was knowledgeable, we saw dolphins in the wild, horses, bald eagle, lots of interesting birds, shrimp, etc. Great day exploring with family.

My daughter had a wonderful time at the kids 3-day summer camp. She was able to paddle board and kayak. I felt that the children were safe and well taken care of, which is so important in a camp. This company is AWESOME!!!! We did a lot on our trip but this was a highlight for our whole family. Catherine was a great guide (and co-owner of the company). My younger kids got to ride in two-person kayaks so that was perfect for them. My teens rode in their own so they enjoyed that. The pictures Catherine takes for your family were very much appreciated (and look like professional pics!!!). We cant to do this again!

I did the Cumberland Island tour today! Great time! Our guide Jeff was mellow and knowledgable. You start from a boat ramp, paddle to Cumberland, and get to explore the island for about an hour. So beautiful and peaceful. Definitely recommend this tour.

Amelia Adventures is great! I’ve kayaked with them many times and my daughter attends their summer adventure camp. The equipment is always clean and in great condition. The guides are friendly and very knowledgeable of the areas being toured. The camps focus on safe, fun, outdoor adventures. We tried a previous outdoor camp that my daughter did not like. She loves being out with Amelia Adventures.
