This review is way over due (like 4 years). Four years ago, after we had just settled my moms estate, I decided to use some of the money towards a piano. There was never money or room in our house growing up for one. I began taking lessons in 2007 using a Yamaha digital keyboard and every time I spoke with mom on the phone, she always asked me how my lessons were going. My piano teacher suggested that I look into a hybrid piano since I liked the digital aspects but wanted the feel of a traditional piano.I stopped by Piano Gallery the Sunday following the Memorial Day weekend. There were cars in the parking lot but the door was locked so I called the stores number and Bob answered. He said they were closed that day (there was a private event) but asked me if I would be willing to wait a few minutes and he would be right there. Bob arrived within 5 minutes.I told Bob I was thinking about a hybrid and he showed me the Casio Calviano GP-500. Bob patiently walked me through the construction and features and played it so I could hear the sound. The retail was $6000, Piano Gallery was selling it for $5,000 but Bob agreed to take my Yamaha in for a $500 trade in and luckily, there was a $500 promotion.I emailed my piano teacher for his feedback (he said go for it) and midweek, I came in with my headphone and had a practice run with piano. Finally, I came in on Saturday and purchased the piano. Bob arranged to have it delivered that same day. This piano is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I play I nearly everyday and I think the quality of my playing has improved quite a bit because it has the sound and feel of a traditional piano. I am able to practice with my headphones during the work day (my husband works at home). I am also able to easily record songs using either MIDI or WAV format (USB drive). Thanks Bob!Sue

Went to piano gallery several times during 4-5 years, and finally got the piano. Highly recommended. If you like music, not a professional musician , want a piano with great sound and affordable price, this is definitely the best choice. Never regret that I bought the used yamaha here, and I dont think the quality is less good than the new one. Happy to have music with me now , everyday, whenever I want, I can just go to the piano and play it.

My experience with Piano Gallery was tremendously unpleasant and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.Even after clearly telling them what I was looking for and what I could afford, Dan and Bob insisted on showing me instruments that were way out of my price range. Bob acted like a used car salesman, trying to pressure me into buying a brand that I hadnt been considering. (Amusingly, Bob took a call from his veterinarian while I was there, and then told me about his dogs surgery from ear fluid... Seriously, I hope his dog is OK.)After I went home, I did more research and decided that I wanted to buy the used piano Bob had offered at a discount. I tried calling to talk to Bob three times; Dan gave me the cold shoulder the first two calls, and on the third, Bob said the piano was no longer available. So, I ordered the same piano online, brand new, and nearly $400 cheaper. It arrived (with free shipping) in just a few days. The online store where I bought it even thew in a nice pair of headphones for free.Piano Gallery didnt listen to me when I told them what I wanted, they didnt treat me like a serious buyer, and the prices are better online.

I went in to just look at a piano. I had my kiddos with me (ages 6&7). I was interested in a Baby Grand player piano. Upon entering I met Dan who quickly makes you feel at home. He took me to look at a few Pianos and there was a gentleman enthusiastically playing a piano for some customers he played so beautifully (Bob), I couldnt help myself I had to sing along. Dan showed me a few pianos and left me to soak them in.While looking around Bob stopped by to talk about what I wanted in a piano, he quickly started playing several for me and directed me to the same model he has in his own home. His enthusiasm for the instrument/s and the art of playing, the love and passion for what they do, that kind of commitment and devotion lets you know, that you will only get a quality product. Anyone can SELL you a piano, but there are a choice very few that can inspire you. These guys are a class act (Dan even started teaching my children how to play)! Bob, Dan the great gentlemen in the back lovingly bringing these works of art back to life, even his wonderful Golden Retriever that is the sweetest dog.If you just want someone to sell you a piano (Im sure they will accommodate you). But if you want to be inspired this is the place.Oh and I bought a Player Baby Grand today!!

I recently moved to the Dallas area and was in the market for a digital piano. After visiting some of the major chains, I came across the Piano Gallery where my search promptly ended. Bob and Dan were some of the most polite and attentive gentlemen I have had the pleasure of doing business with. Rather than simply show me whats popular and pricey, they inquired about my ability and my desire as a player. Once they had an idea of what I was looking for in an instrument, they made a few recommendations that fell in my price range. After showing me each instruments capability, they encouraged me to spend as much time with each instrument as I desired. It was at this moment I knew I was in the right place. Instead of pressuring me with some slick sales speech, Bob and Dan let the instruments sing for themselves. I fell in love with the feel and sound of the Casio GP-500; I am proud to now have it sitting in my living room. While the prices were right and the paperwork was seamless, it was the outstanding service of these two gentleman that made the experience a memorable one. If you are interested in finding the right instrument for your home, just pay Bob a visit. I am sure he will have the perfect match in store.

My husband and I loved our experience at the Piano Gallery! Joe Toscano took us on a tour of the gallery as prospective buyers and he went through the history behind each piano, the differences in their quality and where they are manufactured. I learned so much more about the history of various pianos than I ever did studying piano for 10 years. I feel like a more knowledgeable buyer than when I first walked in. Customer service here is phenomenal like most reviews suggest. I definitely recommend checking out this store, their current deals are fantastic!

When I found it, he did everything he could to make sure that I would be able to get that piano from his showroom to our living room. It is my pleasure to write this review for the Piano Gallery as we had the best experience with Bob & Dan.We were led there by our 14 year old who has been dreaming of a Baby Grand Piano for some time now..Upon entering the gallery we were promptly greeted by Dan who made us feel very comfortable and right at home..Soon we were introduced to Bob who took us on a historical journey, performing on pianos of all ages for us to enjoy. Bob was absolutely amazing and talented. He was so very accommodating and helpful to my 14 year old son even allowing him to play the most expensive pianos. Bob has an amazing knowledge of the piano and its history. This was so helpful in making our decision to purchase the right piano for our son. No high pressure sales and Bobs main goal was to make sure we got the right piano and payment for us and our family. I have nothing better to say about Piano Gallery other than the experience was absolutely what i was looking for coming in with zero knowledge about purchasing a piano. If you are looking for a piano with zero experience on the subject, Piano Gallery and Bobs team is the place to go.

Bob gave us a take it today price and said it would be cleaned, regulated and tuned within the week. We visited again just before delivery and the piano was in stunning condition. Where to begin. Wow! For starters. It is very intimidating to consider purchasing a piano. There are so many out there. So many different styles and variations - prices, etc. I am so glad that I walked into the Piano Gallery. I met Dan at the beginning and he was immediately friendly and eager to assist in anyway he could. The inventory is quite impressive. Dan showed me pianos in every price range and explained the differences and what they translated to with respect to cost and overall performance and sound. It literally was a basic course in piano anatomy and design. Dan is a great guy and loves what he does. He was tremendously helpful. Then there was Bob Rosenthal, the owner. What a genuinely kind and caring guy. There is no question that he loves pianos and he wants everyone that walks through the door to have a positive experience. When I say that these guys are not pushy, I truly mean they are not. The piano we ended up purchasing - Baldwin - was not one that they even showed to us. They understood our budget constraints and respected it. It was my wife that noticed the Baldwin and asked about it.You arent just given details about the pianos - there are stories behind them. It shows that these pianos have a life - a presence. I never once felt that we were to simply pick out a piano and go. I think they would have been slightly offended if we did. They really do love pianos and want to share that with their customers. There is no need to shop anywhere else for a piano. Dont waste your time. Just go to Piano Gallery and experience the joy of buying a piano and then a lifetime of joy playing it.Thank you Dan and Bob.Dave Bunger

Highly recommended! I came into the store with fairly high standards for tone quality. None of the baby grands were doing it for me, and the price for a full or concert grand was just too rich for what we were looking for. However, Bob listened to exactly what I was looking for, and helped me find a piano that met all of my exacting expectations. We ended up purchasing a Fridolin 62 Satin Ebony (BEAUTIFUL) that has a very rich European tone. I had never heard of this new brand before, and Bob was able to give me a history of the connection with Schimmel and Young Chang. He definitely knows what he is selling. Best of all, I didnt have to settle on tone quality to get within my price bracket. They also have a great trade-in program for future upgrades. Unbelievable space, unbelievable people, unbelievable service, unbelievable products, unbelievable prices. I cannot believe that a store like this exists in this day and age.Let me start by saying that we were not in the store to buy the most expensive piano. Bob Rosenthal is a good man and from our first conversation on the phone, he did not act like a sales person, but rather an advisor or a consultant. I do consulting myself and I couldnt be happier with the expertise with which he made recommendations and advised me to do research on some of the products before coming to the store. When we came to the store, we were amazed to see the scale of pianos (no pun intended) he has on display and the kind of art-promoting space he has created in 30+ years there. He gave us a beautiful tour of his space and made us feel less overwhelmed. :)He is a true artist and is truly passionate about music and especially pianos (and not just selling them). It goes without saying that having an artist guide you through the process makes you feel special (we are middle class folks who shop at Walmart/Kroger, we see such service only in the movies). My wife was new to playing and after giving an elaborate and expressive demo of the product we were interested in, he was sensitive to my wifes hesitation to play and offered her headphones so she could play freely.Bob knows piano. Bob lives piano. After spending almost two hours with us, we bought us a model (the exquisite Celviano GP-500) that we thought would always be way outside of our range. Bob gave us a price fully understanding our budget constraints and we left he store grinning uncontrollably and excited! It was, as I said above, unbelievable. There are not that many stores left that us middle class folks can visit today that will give you that feeling. I feel lucky to have walked into Piano Gallery yesterday. Thank you Bob and the Piano Gallery!

My husband and I just purchased a Kawai 54 (KG-1E) baby grand piano from Piano Gallery this past weekend. I have to say our experience there was nothing short of wonderful! Both Bob(owner) and Dan(sales manager), were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Once we told them that were were looking for a pre-owned piano, Bob went through all the pianos and explained all the nuances to me. Buying something that costs 6 figures is definitely not an easy decision! With so many brands and brands that bought out other brands, it was a very challenging endeavor. However, Bob and Dan patiently explained so much to me and made the process easy. They were never pushy, just helpful. They were with us for over 3 hours from beginning to finish and we never felt rushed. We never felt like we had to buy anything.Did I mention that we are actually from Austin? I was so impressed by quality as well as customer service of Piano Gallery, we decided to purchase a beautiful Kawai and had it shipped to Austin. We purchase the piano on Sunday and it arrived promptly Tuesday morning. It was as beautiful as I remember it. When I noticed the piano bench that had arrived was not the one that I had specified in the show room, I promptly called Dan. He cheerfully told me that he will ship the right one to me right away.Honestly, buying a piano from a reputable dealer is so important. The working relationship doesnt just end after the piano is delivered. After the 3 year factory warranty is up, Piano Gallery throws in another 7 years. You want a dealer that will back you up years to come. That is so much more important to me just to know that I purchased something of quality from a reputable establishment than just to get the cheapest piano possible. In my case, I got an excellent piano for a great price from a place I trust. I cant rave enough about this place! If you are looking to buy a piano, look no further!
