My appointments kept getting rescheduled a day or two beforehand without notice which made it impossible to time my mowing. The technicians always seemed to be in some kind of hurry while racing through the yard. There are less expensive options available through other companies which provide better service and value.

If I can give them zero star I would. My 3rd treatment was the worst, Im not sure if they use an I experienced technician. During my 3rd lawn treatment for weeds and crab grass, their technician did not sprayed part of the other side of the yard. So I called and told them about it and they sent the same technician after 5 days and re sprayed it and he sprayedvery heavy on the area whereplentycrabgrass. That chemicals that he pour on our grass was so strong!!!! It stinks for days. Then I notice the yard color was turning brown and some spots are really brown and my grass died. I have those photos as a documentation. I will not recommend this company.e weeds. .....three days later my grass died where he was spraying heavily on those crabgrass.

I have a very small lot at my house, but it really needed help! I liked the Plan that TruGreen offered and subscribed halfway thru last years season, which left me with treatments for this season. I saw a difference in my lawn almost immediately! It looks so much better. This year, Reggie Harvey did the last 2 treatments, and I spoke with him both times. He was very courteous and kind to ask if I had questions. Reggie answered my questions and respectfully explained the answers in detail, knowing I wanted to learn and understand. I appreciate that they walk the lawn rather than ride on their machines. This gives them a better view of what is going on as apposed to the other guys that focus on how fast they can get to the next house. Based on the servicemans feedback, I have a better plan for how I can help maintain my yard.

All I wanted was a quote online. The harassment level of the phone calls was terrible. If I want to call to ask I will. One phone call and a voicemail would be fine. I’ll call back at my convenience. Getting 11 missed calls while I’m at work and 4 more in the morning was unreal.

TruGreen acquired my previous lawn service that I was about to terminate but TruGreen took over and kept my rate the same and fixed my lawn. Before I had weeds and it was looking unhealthy and now it is thick and green. It looks great! I also appreciate their automation of payment, the app and excellent communication online.

I have weeds and crabgrass. I tried calling the Service Line 2 days in a row and waited over an hour with no response. I called their sales line with an immediate answer. The man took my name and number and said he would forward my...he didnt. A week later no call. I tried using the chat option via their site. I was continually disconnected. I am not happy. It seems they want new customers but do not care about existing customers.😠

Joseph, the technician was great. He took the time to explain everything he was doing, why he was doing it and what the result would be. Courteous, polite and with a smile. Great service. Id like him to be my technician each month.

While I did like the individuals who serviced my property, they seemed knowledgeable and the product was mildly effective, I still strongly recommend that you avoid this company. TrueGreen is a predatory company. Once you sign up for any service, the calls are constant and regardless of what you say, they will keep calling. They call with reminders of appointments. They call trying to sell additional services all of the time, about once a week. If you cancel service, they will continue servicing your lawn anyway and charging you. I cancelled at least three times. I still just got another bill, at least seven months after my first cancellation. They think you will forget that you cancelled and that they serviced you after your cancellation and they keep billing you until you pay. I dont know how many times I have called at this point. When they call me now, I immediately tell the caller I have absolutely no interest in their service. Do not give this company your phone number. Do not show interest in this company. You will regret it. Trust me.

Have used them this season after having used other service. Yard looks better. Communication with technicians is very good ... they let me know what they observe and what they and I can do to make my yard look better. They recommended I raise blade on mower by 1/2 inch and it helped the grass during the dry season. Weeds have been in good control ... better than previous service. They communicate via text to let me know the date they are coming and update it with a precise time window.

They torn my lawn up when they erated as my lawn was very wet. I gave them a year to fix what they did and they didnt get it done. Changed to another company and in one year my lawn has never looked better. Much greener and think and all the bare patches from trugreen has been taken care of. I did have their full service.

Vastly improved the appearance of my yard. The app makes the servicing convenient and predictable when you learn to use it. The mosquito treatment worked about 90% and I thought it was worth the money. Some communication issues with the app caused some difficulties because our backyard is gated and we had to know exactly when they were coming so I could prepare. Some of this was my misunderstanding of how to find the info I needed. Anyway, it’s the best lawn service I’ve had and plan on sticking with TruGreen.

I signed up for the TruComplete Lawn Plan and paid in full. First treatment was scheduled for first week of August and they cancelled 30 minutes after they were suppose to arrive. No big deal, they came out a week later to complete. Fast forward to today 9/8 when my aeration and overseeding was scheduled to be completed. I receive a text at 11:18 am to tell me they will be here soon. Fantastic! I click on the link and they are working on someones yard in my neighborhood and my time is between 1 and 4. At 1:27 I receive another text saying they were unable to perform my service today. I call the customer care line and the specialist claimed they didnt have time.So 2 services schedule and 2 postponements. Looking like I will need to take my business elsewhere.

This is my first time to choose TruGreen, but I feel disappointed. TruGreen didn’t make my lawn green. The flag that TruGreen put in my front yard, shows everyone the bad reputation of the ugly lawn.

DON’T DO CONTRACT!I’ve been holding back writing this review, but I did a prepaid agreement with these people and they refuse to comply with the agreement.I prepaid 7 applications and an aeration for a 12-month period. They applied 10 applications in 11 months and billed me the additional 3. I tried to work with the field office to wave the overages and renew our contract with ONLY the 7 applications I want. They refused, so I’m moving on.I will not pay for the additional work done outside the scope of our agreement and will be using my local lawn care company instead.

I am finally done with Trugreen. For as much money as we pay our yard has never looked great. Ive tried to get someone out to talk to us about our yard for a year. Even though it lists a Fairfield, OH address and phone number your call will be answered by someone in New Hampshire. Im over it. The last application put brown line streaks all through the yard.

Ted is outstanding. I am sure he will be coming soon and following exactly the instructions I gave him last week when I talked to him on his cell.

We were long time customers, going back to when they were Scotts. Unfortunately the mystery of why our grass hadnt been looking good was solved when we installed Ring cameras in the front and back yards and saw the service we were getting. When we showed the videos to management they only offered to refund that visit and to not send that technician again. We declined that offer and cancelled the service.

Robocalls wont stop!! I am on the DNC list. I have asked this company repeatedly to remove me. I will never do business with a company that cant respect my rights or the law.

I just recently signed up for the service and so far we are off to a rough start. This has me contemplating canceling the service and terminating my relationship with TruGreen. I was told when I signed up that I would be notified when a treatment was scheduled. This has not happened after two treatments so far. By the way, why would I receive the exact same treatment (Pre-emergent and fertilization) within 2 weeks of each other. After the initial treatment, I immediately noticed that my lawn begin to yellow and continued to get worse for several days. I called the main number and was assured someone would reach out to me. That never happened. What did happen was that several days (at least a week later) someone called me who turned out to be a tech who was at my house when I wasnt. He just showed up and was not the one who did the initial treatment. He confirmed what I knew which was that my lawn did not look good. He said he would speak to his supervisor and someone would get back to me in 5 or 10 minutes. That never happened. Just a couple of days ago what did happen was that someone showed up unannounced at my house and did another treatment. I didnt know until after the fact when i saw the little flags in the yard and the notice left in my door. It was the exact same treatment as the first one. The time span was about 2 weeks. I am waiting for my lawn to completely die this time. I called the local office and someone tried to connect me to the GM. He or she was not available. I am guessing they are hiding from customers since they know their services are subpar. I am now waiting for someone to return my call. By the way, I do get regular calls about my payment which I refused. They seem pretty on time with requesting their money. Unbelievable! I am disappointed in myself for not reading the reviews on here (especially from Cincinnati customers). Had I done that, I would not have signed up. Unless there is some really great explanation or unless TruGreen practices some fantastic customer recovery, I will be moving on in short order. My advice for anyone considering TruGreen is to do your homework first.

After I committed to a service plan, Trugreen overcharged my credit card. I immediately brought it to their attention, but they didnt timely process my credit. In addition, I subsequently received a sales call from California attempting to sell me the same services. Four days after committing to a service plan, I cancelled all services from TruGreen. However, they are delaying processing the remaining credit to my credit card to bring my balance to $0. Their policy requires that a General Manager call me to discuss my cancellation before my credit card credit will be approved. Unbelievable!

The two young men who gave us our first lawn treatment were extremely polite & professional. the few questions we had they answered honestly & encouraged us to call them if we needed any help. thus far this has been a great experience & the treatment really helped our yard which was really in rough condition...thank you.

I have hired several lawn care / fertilizing companies and truly believe TruGreen has been by far the best thus far. They have a great follow through, are very professional, and get excellent results.

I have been very satisfied with TruGreen for the past 5-6 years. When I began, my lawn was a disaster. Now it is completely filled in with green, thick, soft, gorgeous grass! I get a lot of compliments.

TruGreen is so easy, efficient, and good value. They always email me when they are on their way and tell me what treatment they performed. And they always stop in to say hi. They really have their act together!

I’m pleased with the service, although I was hopeful the nutsedge could be iraticated . I was informed that it keeps coming back with the warmth of the ground.The service gentlemen have been wonderful!We did have an instance where too much fertilizer was dropped in two places and killed the grass altogether. Stephen said he put in a ticket so that seed would be planted in those areas.All in all we are very satisfied with our service and the condition of our lawn.

Got a spraying of weed and feed which seemed to do well but just started using TruGreen so cant confirm any long term results.My wife saw one of their specialists spraying the neighbor’s lawn next door while our dog was checking him out by the fence. The tech made no effort to make sure no overspray would land our dog.For the third time in a row that I was scheduled to have fungicide sprayed on my lawn and they no-showed or cancelled.Will be shopping for another service if these people can’t get their act together.

The Service Guy always stops by to talk about the lawn condition every time he does a application. He seems very knowledgeable about what he is doing.

Richard did an excellent job of explaining why and how the lawn treatment was to be applied to insure my lawn continued to look great.

18AUG21 TruGreen’s Technician Adam came out and provided my season’s fertilization/grub control. I love the motorized stand on fertilizer spreader. That was different. I am glad to see that the technicians are provided with such sophisticated tools/equipment to keep my and other customer’s lawn nourished, bug free and looking good.

So far so good, we are only on are first treatment !!! However the tech that came to our home was very professional and friendly.

Whoever Vinny is up in the sales office this guy is a joke. He must have taken the training classes and forgotten everything about that and common sense sales. He cant remember you told him a month ago you moved, and continually tries to sell me products I already have, and the things he sells that I have he tells me the prices and can never beat any other sales persons prices I got a month ago. Borderline harassing on his phone calls, he wont let you get off the phone, and doesn’t listen whatsoever. Dude you need a new job or at least don’t call me while you’re at this one ever again.

I was a customer with Scotts (I say was, because I just canceled all services) for years. I was very happy with their products and services until they joined with TruGreen. They would call and tell me they were coming out...they never showed. After 4 or 5 times of this happening I tried to talk to my account manager. For 3 days I was told they would call me back at certain times. This did not happen. I tried again today to talk to someone about my account. Again, no manager was available (nor the district manager). I gave them several hours to contact me. Of course, no call back. I canceled all services and found someone else to take care of my lawn.

The on sight service reps are all very professional and willing to answer any questions or tend to any issue that I may have concerning my lawn and bushes. I could not be happier with the actual service due to the reps that tend to my yard.

My lawn is now in much better shape than it has been for sometime because of TruGreen.

Very disappointed in the customer service today. Ordered the extra mosquito treatment last week.. I was told someone would be out Tuesday this week to treat my property.. I called today, Friday and asked what the status was since Ive heard nothing... They connected me to the local Fairfield branch and I was told we are so busy it will be next week. I was assured it would be done this week when I ordered it as we are having family over this weekend for an outdoor barbecue... I asked them when they planned on calling me to let me know they were not going to be able to meet their own appointment time ? Was just told sorry in a very I dont care tone of voice.. I said thats not the way I do business and asked to cancel my service.. was just told ok.. Folks...Give your business to a company that cares more about its customers.. I think I was more disappointed in the feeling they gave me that they just dont care that they missed their appointment and also did not care that it bothered me further because it was a no call no show ... plenty more customers after me I suppose. They offered nothing to help...at all. All they had to do was care, just a little and I would not have canceled all services.

I received no notification that my account from Scotts was being switched to TruGreen. Since being switched the appearance of my lawn has drastically decreased. And they provided applications above the basic services without getting my consent, only a missed call or two. When asking customer service they lied and said I was notified and that because I had ordered those services before that I agreed to future applications. Scotts always made sure to get verbal confirmation before proceeding.

I love the way Tru Green lets you know the day and approximate time they will be there. The specialist tells you what your yard needs and what they are going to do.

Do you hate your neighbors? Are you tired of the sounds of family and friends playing in your yard? TruGreens yer man. Ive used them for 15+ years and when my yard was taken over by nutsedge, they disappeared. So did their technicians and all those annoying friends and family. The rabbits seem to like it, however, as does the lawnmower repair place. If you hate the outdoors but love hours on the phone with customer service (or maybe youre just a huge Watership Down fan) definitely go TruGreen. Or, yknow, just stay in the house.

Rob Schneider does a great job for tru green. He is very thorough and knowledgeable about TruGreens products/services. We are still seeing some weeds here and there but overall happy with the Lawns appearance.

THIS APPLICATION .. WAS NOT GOOD AS IT WAS NOT DONE !..They sent an email saying they were on their way [ w/ ETA of 2-230,..]but at 230 sent an email saying they werent coming, but gave no reason/explanation is to WHY !..This is 2nd time this happened....SO what was the problem?..& Will this happen again??I also do want to know WHY this happened AGAIN,.. as the same thing happened last time.. so this is not good !They never did tell me..so why was my specialist unable to complete your service today. ?just delay or schedg problem?As for the last appl.,I have new weeds that I didn’t have before,And fertlzr hasn’t helped any..As one can see by looking at it, this is NOT a picturesque, chemlawn poster-lawn..!………[ And I do water it daily, And have mower set on its highest setting.]Dave Schultz

Service was on time, called ahead of time to set up service time, and was performed without any problems. Service technician spoke to me that day, and discussed his appraisal of the lawn.

Had to ask for a refund. I prepaid for the season. They must have poor communication with the lawn techs. I would get a notice that they were coming the next day. Then I would get a notice the next morning that they were on the way. I would wait for them because I need to put my dogs up when they get there. Many no shows. No one would take the blame. My yard had more crabgrass than it ever had. I finally had enough. One lesson I learned. Do not prepay for the season. Youre put on the back burner.

I really cant elaborate much on this,however Trugreen does a quality job for the price and the scheduling could not be easier. Thanks for making my grass the greenest on the block.

Trugreen is the absolute worst. From the lack of customer service to the terrible managers in Cincinnati. They do not care about you if you have issues. Trugreen literally killed my lawn and would not do anything to fix it. USE A SMALLER COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY CARES!!!

I decided to give Trugreen a try late last year. On the last treatment of the year, apparently the technicians spreader was faulty (what I was told) and killed my grass everywhere he walked. I called service and they said they would come out next spring and overseed and aerate my yard to resolve. After 4-5 calls to them in the spring, they finally showed up to overseed. I spoke to the technician while onsite. He said he put down 50lbs of seed but it probably wont take off due to the type of damage done. He said they should have had him bring a slice seeder for this job. I asked if he aerated the yard, he said that wasnt on his order...I asked him to let Jeremy know what the condition of my yard was in and to have him call me for next steps. After not being contacted I left several messages for Jeremy to call me and discuss next steps. Of course Jeremy never bothered to call me back. After the 3rd call with no return call, I cancelled their service. I am now trying to repair my damaged yard at my expense. Terrible service company. I would never recommend Trugreen.

These guys are horrible. I called and spoke with 2 Managers to have them come out to my home because weeds were popping up and I was getting brown spots. They never showed up. In fact a few days later, I received notice that they were at my home and completed the service. The fact of the matter is they were treating my neighbors yard and charging me! I witnessed this myself. I fired them last Friday and today I receive a notice that they are at my property treating it! I never write these kind of negative reviews - I like to lift folks up not pull them down but, True Green needs to evaluate themselves internally. Im done!

We purchased an 8 treatment package in March 2015 from the local TruGreen office.Suffice to say, we have been less than impressed with their professionalism, attentiveness to lawn needs, and quite candidly - their honesty. My fiance or I have been at the home during 4 of the 7 visits so far. 2 of the 7 visits were calls we placed for a retreat request as the technician did not do his job. Lies on the work order pages left on the door indicating treatment of our entire yard area, when we witness with our own eyes that treatment is sporadic at best. We started the year with patches of broadleaf, clover, nutsedge, dandelions, and annual grasses; now, after 7 treatments 4 of the 5 weed types remain prevelent in our yard. Once our contract is up with TruGreen, we will not ever return as a customer.As a sponsor of hte PGA - it is obvious that their products should work, and it comes down to the work ethic, attention to detail, commitment to excel, and honesty of their technicians. Apparently all the good ones are working golf courses across the country and do not work for residential accounts.

If I can show you what a crummy job they do I would. first of all I have no lawn, their job was to come out and kill all the weeds so they can plant new grass. they never came out and TREATED A THING!!! VERY VERY POOR SERVICE. STAY AWAY FROM THEM

The service wasnt bad but i gave them my credit card to pay my bill and they didnt pay it. I confirmed they had my correct card but EVERY service i was harassed with threatening phone calls. EVERYDAY several times a day. When you ask to speak to a supervisor one is never available. And they call at 830 on sat morning then they are rude. Make you feel like they are going to send a hit man after you and it is THEIR mistake. They forgot to link my two accounts. But then it happens again on next treatment. Not worth it cancelled my service

Great communication & service

The TruGreen sales person did an excellent job or selling the service. Unfortunately, the companies policy of applying treatments that had not been authorized/agreed to and then billing you for those unauthorized treatments is ridiculous. We authorized TruGreen to apply weed and feed to our lawn every other month but their service guys decided to show up in the off month and without authorization to apply a grubs treatment, which was not necessary. When I contacted the billing department they told me that it was not their problem and that I would have to pay for the treatment because it had already been applied. Because the billing department was so rude I decided to cancel my agreement with them and I paid them for the services that I had agreed to have applied but I refused to pay for the grubs treatment, which I did not authorize. The continued to call me and harass me about the outstanding balance for several months and then this month they decided to turn over the account to a collections agency!!!BE WARNED THAT THESE GUYS WILL RIP YOU OFF AND WILL APPLY TREATMENTS THAT YOU DID NOT AUTHORIZE AND WILL SEND YOU TO COLLECTIONS IF YOU DONT PAY FOR SERVICES THAT YOU DID NOT AUTHORIZE!!SERIOUSLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Started out not so bad... Been with them since 2011... Last year the service started to fall off, weeds, crab grass... Would schedule reapplication ( as stated for no charge ) would always get delayed.This year, weeds, crab grass again... Its only the start of the season :(Cancelled and went with another company. Small time, local owned and owner operated. Almost instant results.Sorry TruGreen, just not a happy customer.

My husband and I signed up for TruGreen especially because in the fall they will come irrigate your yard. By doing all of this it saved us a little money and time of not having to rent equipment and do it ourselves.However, they told us the cost covered the entire yard, that the front, back and sides were all included (we by no means have a large yard). They also told us the first application was $29.99 and there after. Come to find out the day they showed up (we werent home) they treated the yard and I checked the bank statement I was not only charged $29.99 for the treatment, but we were charged $42.99 for grub treatment - nothing was said to us about it. I called and the customer service agent spoke to me as if I was 5 years old and got loud, yelling at me because I asked him to stop repeating himself.I hung up and spoke to someone else and she refunded me and gave us half price for the next month. Next month rolled around and my husband was home and they only treated the front yard - when he questioned it they said no, only their treatments cover the front yard.Therefore we have cancelled our service and will NEVER work with TruGreen again.
