E cut & neatly bundled bamboo so that it is less than 4 feet in length. I was able to carry up a hill about 100 yards. The only thing missing is a Tiffany Box. Yet Republic Services is not capable to tossing these bundles which weigh less than 20 pounds each into their truck. I have called multiple times over 4 weeks. Each time promised a truck. And yet here they still sit as a roadside testament to the quality of their service.

I have been a customer for a few months now. They have missed the yard waste pickup more than 50% of the time. Reporting the issues does nothing. Reporting online gets no response. So I have called and escalated to manners sometimes. They really do less than nothing to resolve the issue. They will not call you back either. I am just told they will come in another date where they do not show up for the special pickup either. Management goes not call you back to discuss, and the bags start to fall apart once they have laid out in the rain for two weeks. When they pick them up, they fall apart and the crew leaves the mess. So the customer can reheat the mess at the curb, then the cycle starts again. Whoever oversees this contract at Republic Services is doing their customers a disservice. Post accurate pickup schedules and stick to it.If you are only providing half the service then let us know and charge us less. I plan to get the country government included now. I have a feeling they do not know Republic Services is not providing these services full-time. Seems like we are all getting hustled.

I received my recycle/trash bin very promptly. However, the company never picked up my trash or recycle ever. I would call each day it was missed and wait on hold for an hour each time to reach a person live on the phone. The next day they still did not come so I would call again and be reassured I would receive service. I had to hire another company since they never picked up my waste/recycle bins even when I called about it being missed each day for several days. The company is still trying to charge me for a service I never received. What company steals peoples money and expects to be paid for a service they never receive. One person tells me all charges would be dropped, and then it never happened. I called back to ask why it wasnt cleared and they said you owe us for bring the bins even though they would never pick up my waste like the contract states. Who would pay one penny for a service never rendered? I have lost countless hours of my life.....NEVER hire this company!

My trash has not been picked up in a week, and every time I called, and they say that are going to escalate this. It has been exculpated 10 times and still my trash is sitting outside of my house. This is not the first problem with this company in the neighborhood. Trust me they can forget about the business in our neighborhood, better yet the collection of my companies!!!! The worst!!

Im having the same experience as so many others leaving reviews. I have been a customer for 3 weeks. In that time, Ive had my recycling picked up once, but never trash. Ive called three times and submitted one online ticket. My cans are obviously full, and I cannot put out more bags because Im sure the raccoons and foxes will tear them apart. To make matters worse, I was billed up front (and I paid) for service September - December. A few more days and I will have to cancel. Hopefully I can get my money back.

Services was fine for many years. Recently they have missed pickups in our neighborhood multiple weeks in a row. These workers were considered essential workers and were employed through the pandemic. I have called every day, sometimes waiting up to an hour for someone to answer, each time, a representative says they will send someone out that day to pick up the last three weeks of missed pickups, yet they never do. What is going on republic?

Date 06/16 This is the worst company that I have to deal with for yard waste and trash removal. They always miss service Pickup. Reporting missed service is useless with the company. I called three time this week for missed yard waste pickup. The call center rep lie saying that someone will come but no one show up. Don’t give your hard earned money to these people. Date 06/30 Missed pickup again. No one picks call. Was on hold for 1 hour. Do not waste your money with these guys.

Republic Service trash removal caused damage to my driveway and landscaping. They lied and said it wasn’t caused by them but for that entire week I didn’t have any other large trucks on my driveway. The truck broke and cracked ashphalt and got stuck after hitting and dragging a 200lb landscape rock. No other normal vehicle is capable of that. It was all right in the path of where they turn around.Do not trust this company. Constant issue with missed pickups. Lack of communication over holidays and changing pick up dates.

Republic Services have missed several pick up days in our business complex throughout each year which leaves trash backed up in our offices and then they dont respond when you call or email. Once you finally do get through to complain to the supervisors for a refund do to miss pickups, theyll add additional fees saying the trash was overflowing in order to get the money back that they had to refund you. Just a horrible all around customer service experience. If you can go with the other companies, please do!

After calling multiple times over the past 2 months and being on hold for over an hour to talk to someone, I finally spoke to someone today (today I waited 25 min). I was trying to schedule bulk pick up for a couch. When I put the address in on-line it says bulk waste is available, please call to schedule a pick up. Calling is not so easy when it takes forever for someone to answer at AAA republic. After all of this, they informed me they dont have bulk pickup in Fairfax and the website may not be correct! Its advertised as part of their package. I am not happy with this company. I just moved here. I may have to look for another company.

Missed a pickup, serviced everyone else in the neighborhood. 1st call 9am, was told they would be back. 2nd call 1pm, was told they would be back that day if not then the next day(Friday). No shows. Now its the weekend. I have several items to pick up, not a single bin

Our yard waste is still there today (7/14/2021). I have followed your guidelines to provide the information to your company, I feel that if you can not do the service at least you need to be honest. A very bad business practices I hope that our community will find other company to do the work.----------------------------Today 7/7 Wednesday is a yard waste pickup day, however our tree branches are still there. I discovered that my neighbors yard waste had been collected.

Update 6/23 - Going on 4 days of no response to email. Cans are about to walk themselves out of here after festering in the heat for 2 months.Absolutely the worst. This business is a joke. Never on time. Pickups just stopped out of nowhere. We’ve had trash sitting and rotting in front of our house for 6 weeks!No response from anyone. For the past 8 years they have increased my quarterly premiums. Finally dropped them at the beginning of a new billing cycle. Said it would be a $25 charge to pick up the bins. DID NOT tell me there were other charges and ended up getting a measly $30 of my $95 premium refunded. If you live in the lakeridge area go with shiffletts. Only $60 a quarter and so far happy with the service.

Started an account with Republic Services two weeks ago. They have still not picked up my trash. I have called and scheduled them to pick up the trash 5 times since they first missed the collection. Every time I call they tell me they will pick it up the next day. This has been going on for weeks. PLEASE COME GET MY TRASH.

**Edit: Our trash pickup was missed every day in a row for an entire week and I called multiple times a day and was promised a pickup. I started calling Wednesday and our trash had not been picked up until Tuesday the next week which is our NORMAL pickup day.**Edit #2: One week later our recycling has a missed pickup again.I always treat every individual with courtesy and respect but the quality of service is ridiculously bad and possibly the worst that I have ever dealt with.We had a missed pickup one day and it was followed by 5 consecutive missed pickups [in a row]. What eventually happened was that the customer service representative elected to elevate our case to a manager and I believe a local supervisor had to manually come to our home to pick up our waste.The same thing is happening again just a few weeks later. Empty promises two days in a row so far (as of writing this review) to pick up our trash and were still waiting.This is reprehensible and I should not have to proactively call multiple times, waste hours of both my time and Republic Services, and write a bad review in order to receive a basic service that I paid for.

Terrible service. Have left 5 missed pickup messages and they still haven’t come to pick up the garbage or recycling. Extremely disappointed, DO NOT USE THEM. Like everyone else says, when you call they will tell you they will pick up the next day and then never show up. Terrible….just terrible.

Yard waste has been bundled for multiple weeks by the road. Not picked up on 2 regularly scheduled days and failed to pick up 4 times on the reschedules. Nothing but broken promises. Even their phone reps were embarrassed of the poor service. I asked for a refund because they arent doing the service I pay them for and was denied. Will be looking for new trash company on Monday.

My tenant complained of multiple missed pickups of both trash and recycle. Multiple calls to both corporate customer service and the escalation department ended with empty promises of a local manager contacting me regarding this issue. I have never heard from the local manager. After missing the pickup again at the beginning of the month/new billing cycle, I called to cancel. They would not cancel until the end of May. I dont want to pay for May. I want to end this relationship.*EDIT- Thank you Republic for the follow up to this review, cancelation, and refund.

Update, 2nd billing cycle: My billing for our 2nd quarter with Republic was $149.38, so approximately 35% over the amount American charged us. The quoted rate is still $105, the difference being the additional administrative fee of $5.95 and the Fuel Fee of $38.43. Today they announced that they will no longer pick up yard waste at our location in Herndon, so it eliminates the only advantage in service from my perspective. My neighbors on both sides pay $77 for the same service from Republic, so it seems they charge double to new customers to offset the old contracts they still honor. I switched back to American this afternoon. The rate for us with A has increased to $134.85, but they assured me that there are still no undisclosed additional charges, and Im back to 2x weekly trash pickups.Original review based on 1st billing cycle: I wanted to leave information for others who like me have to navigate several options for disposal service in Fairfax County. Ive used Republic and American. American is the better value if you dont use yard waste pick up (we were charged $111 per quarter, no additional undisclosed add on fees). However despite claiming to pick up yard waste as part of the service, they did not do so for us. American does pick up trash twice weekly instead of once per week for Republic, and weekly recycling as well. So if you want trash pick up primarily American may be the better choice. My low rating for Republic is mainly due to their deceptive disclosure of pricing and fees. Our first bill is over $233 for the quarter, well beyond the roughly similar to American initial quote. Some of this is an initial fee to deliver bins, which you are not allowed to pick up yourself anyway so it is in no way a convenience fee, and the amount of this fee is not disclosed as they claim they cant know in advance what the cost will be. However a good portion is made up of a $60 fuel fee, which one might assume would be included in the quoted service fee but they dont disclose or estimate it in advance either and apparently it will be an ongoing charge in addition to service. This is more than half the $105 service fee for the 3 month period, so it isnt insignificant for a customer comparing options. Going forward our quarterly bill will be at least 25 to 35 percent higher with Republic than American (or more) due to the initially undisclosed fees, with only half the trash pick ups versus American. But hopefully they will pick up yard waste (which we do unfortunately use). If I find a better service I may update about that, but I felt the need to share the previous information due to the fact that I cant be the only one who is surprised by these fees, and I feel they should be able to give an accurate service quote when one is requested rather than drastically underestimating their charges in order to appear competitive.Note: It appears that they do watch their reviews at least based on their response to my review already today, and those of others. However, before posting this review I had already called to speak with customer service by phone. They were clear that they didnt care about whether they retained customers, unapologetic about the undisclosed fees, and let me know that we could drop off our bins and end service if we had any concerns (they happily accept bins dropped off by customers ending service, but pick up of bins for new customers is not allowed of course and costs $70). This review was posted after the phone call, if you read the reviews by others youll see similar notes, this reply by Republic is only for appearances.

So heres one for you. I called and got a quote Jan 17th for service. They emailed it to me. I agreed and gave the deposit Jan 22. They were suppose to deliver the cans Jan 30. Jan 31, I call. No cans. They tell me an account was never started. Found my deposit. Apologized. Can will be delivered Feb 7, Feb 8 no cans. I call. They cant find an account. They find my deposit. Cans will be there next week. Feb 14. Feb 15, no cans. I call, they cant find an account. Find my deposit and say cans wont be delivered till Feb 25th. I say forget it. Give me my deposit back. Im done.Beginning of March I get a $220.00 bill from them. I call, have to explain myself 4 times. Finally, they get it and supposedly delete my account. Last week I got another bill for $9.50. I have tried to call, but keep remembering after hours...today they called my phone twice and left messages about a late payment!! I HAVE NEVER EVEN RECEIVED CANS OR HAD A PICK FROM THESE CLOWNS!Cant wait to call them tomorrow.🤯

CUSTOMER BEWARE OF REPUBLIC SERVICES!!! They miss pickups routinely. Their customer service is only for show. They make promises but they dont follow through. After a recent spate of missed pickups and several calls, I finally got someone to admit their sub-contract expired and they have nobody running their routes!Its impossible to get in touch with anyone local. Youll be routed to a call center in North Carolina, Arizona, wherever. Theyll promise resolution without knowing whether resolution is even possible. Look at the companys replies to all the negative reviews here -- its all for show. You can email their customer service all day but that wont make the trash or yard waste in front of your house disappear.This company is a joke, a bottom feeder. Take a look at the other reviews on here, theyre all the same. I finally had enough and cancelled my service with them.

I have Repliblic for trash and recycling. Ive had mispickups, missed pickups for other missed pickups. Trash all over my yard. Called about my bill and they tell me they will have talk with the driver.. I have pictures of trash all over my yard, I picked up in the rain because the driver knocked over the can and kept driving.

I have used Republic for the last 7 years. I never had a problem with trash or recycling pick up. A year or two ago they stopped picking up trash 2 days a week and went to a one day a week plan. I need 2 trash pickups a week and decided to go with a different trash company. I have been calling republic for the past week trying to cancel my service. I am hold for really long periods of time (45 minutes, 30 minutes, 20 minute, 50 minutes). Today after being on hold for 50 minutes I got a message that there system was down and was disconnected. The only way to cancel your service is to call someone, but you can never get through. Very frustrating!

Easily the worst company I have dealt with as a homeowner. We pay for two trash cans to be picked up every week. They consistently skip our house or empty only one trash can. Today I chased them down the street to ask why they did not empty my second trash can. I got two answers: 1. I dont know or 2. We should have taken it. In the past, we have called customer service to have them come back out and empty the cans, but they only followed through on occasion. If you are considering this company for your trash removal I would run as fast as you can.I guess its my fault for sticking with them so long. Shame on me... We made the change today.Hopefully, our luck will be better with another company.

Yesterday was the 1st day of service for us and I watched the yard waste truck back up by our house and then take off up the street. We had 8 yard waste bags and 2 plastic cans of leaves that went ignored. I jumped in my car hoping they were still in my neighborhood and found the truck pulled over on the side of the road. I got out of my car and explained my situation (new to the nhood, owner of the house with the yard waste bags, etc.) and asked why they didnt collect the bags. The driver of the truck, who barely looked at me as he was too busy looking at his phone, said they would get the waste on the way out of the nhood. Never saw them again. Im in my 60s and making the several trips, hauling these items back to my shed out of the rain, is not particularly easy. So Republic Services is paying this driver to be on his phone, I guess.

About every other month they miss my trash pick up. This time they missed our whole street. Its now been 5 days waiting on them to pick up. I have reported this 4 times and keep getting promised they will be by that day or the following. Customer service reps are polite and apologetic but that doesnt make up for the local division not following through with pick ups.

A year ago, they cut service from twice a week to once a week pickup. They did not adjust the price and continued charging the same amount. Now, a year later, they are sending a price increase on top of that. This company is so poorly managed, you cant even email customer service, you have to CALL THEM.

Unfortunate. We had been using Republic Services for about 7 years when we lived closer to the Beltway. But, recently we moved out to Clifton and they have failed to maintain service and have lost a customer.We are coming up on a month of service and they have yet to pickup on the regularly scheduled Thursday to pick up trash. One time we were able to get them to come out on a missed pickup run, but they missed again the following week and then missed the missed pickup pickup.This can has been sitting by the road full for quite some time and we have run out of space in the can. We are even holding some Christmas wrapping paper and trash from from move in the garage, simply because Republic wont pick up.Youd think a full trash can with their logo on it would be the exact billboard they would want to avoid.

As 99% of the other reviews in here have noted, this company is AWFUL. Customer for four years. This last 12-14 months have been progressively worse. They continue to cut service, regularly miss pickups and are basically non responsive if it doesnt involve them getting paid. Pro tip for Republic - its a contract, I PAY for service, you PROVIDE the paid for service. Four weeks and no one has picked up yard waste. Its piling up in front of my house and others. Moving in, had enough. Tired of paying for what Im not actually getting.

This is horrible company. I have been with them since 2012 with two accounts; pay my bill on time. they even over priced comparing with other companies. one of the site a recycling been missed pick up for 3 weeks and I have been reported it in the app and called for 5 times. overtime I call they said we will have someone call you and no one did. and then they said it will be picked up before 4 next did but as usually lies. Proffessional lies they played me for 5. eventually I called and I told them if its not picked up today I need my money back and close the account. I would do business with any other company.

If i could give a ZERO, I would!!!! I have recently canceled my services with Republic as their service has dropped drastically. Every quarter for last 2 years I’ve had to call in missed pick up but since Dec/Jan 2020 it’s been faithfully EVERY week, twice a week; once for reach and again for recycling. I’ve been more than understanding as routes change, I’ve been OVER THE TOP understanding due to COVID and have even offered to speak with the operations supervisor to see if I’m on outskirts of route and if would be best to go with another company if inconvenience to this company. I was constantly assured this would be fixed and my complaints would be sent to local operations department and I would get a call regarding my acct. ( WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BY THE WAY!!!). customer service apologizes for my issue and reschedules a pick up, just doing their job but underlining problem is never fixed. I’ve have canceled my service effective tomorrow BUT my trash from Friday (5 days ago) has yet to be picked up after calling in 2 missed pick ups, nor have the cans been picked up that were supposed to be, nor have I gotten a call regarding my acct about credit owed! This is the worst company as I have been more than patient. Their customer service is great and Sandy from sales was great until I canceled my service and now all of a sudden, no one can help me any longer. After a client for 6 years, when the economy is crashing, maybe you would appreciate your customers a little better? I shouldn’t have to call and ask for my trash to be picked up if paying for a service. Just be honest with your customers!!!!!

The truck driver only managed to get half the bags out of my trash can yesterday. I called to report it, waiting for about 20 minutes on hold, and was asked to put my can out again today. Today no one picked up the trash. What a surprise!Update from August 19, 2020: service has been fine since my original post in late July 2020. The truck comes and picks up the trash according to schedule. So I am upgrading my score to reflect the actual work of the folks sweating in the heat. But dont bother complaining if there is a one time issue with pick up. They wont send a truck out just for you. Customer service call center is theater. Just know that if you contract with them.

They constantly forgot my trash and when I call they say they will send the truck next day and that never happen even if I call everyday, I have to wait until next week pick up since they just do it once a week, today I called because they didn’t take my trash again and the lady couldn’t help me just because the driver reported that my lead was open and is crazy because it was slightly open, she just said these are the polices.. these people is so unprofessional and don’t do their work never resolve problems but they would definitely charge for the service..

UPDATE: After months of relatively reliable service, I am giving them a second star and putting my past comments in that tense. They have improved with notifications of when they will not be providing service. When a pickup was missed, they followed through the next day after notification. Still, based on others reviews, I believe my neighborhood is not getting this service because we complained enough to get priority. It shouldnt be that way.I had never seen any company so negligent. Missing pick ups is one thing. Saying that a pick up will be done and not following through OR communicating if it isnt possible is another! I had observed one pickup and the driver was alone. Very inefficient IMO.In mid-2020, my trash had not been picked up as scheduled for seven weeks, despite numerous calls to and commitments by local and corporate offices to rectify the situation. For a long time, they simply didnt appear to care about residential customers.Avoid Republic Services. Paying the same for one day of service per week when its competitors provide two is absurd.

Avoid this company at all cost. We recently moved and have been using them for almost 2 months now. Repeatedly they have only picked up half of our trash, if that. Several times they have not even come at all on scheduled days. Once our trash blew a little into the street in a storm and they drove AROUND the bags and left them there. I wish I had done my research before signing up for a full year. They are awful. I have never had so many problems with a trash company.

I have 2resident locations with a trash and recycling pick up on Tuesday! at one of my locations they pick up my trash bin or my recycling at my other location will pick up my recycling and not tracks keep in mind these residents houses are two houses apart from each other I have called since Tuesday July 27 I have called Wednesday Thursday Friday and all they tell me is that they’re going to send someone out here and figure out what’s going on.... today is Monday August 3 and I’ve called and all they want to keep telling me is that they’re going to get a supervisor on it and check out whether not picking up my love trash in my recycling that both my location I’ll be on hold for a good 45 minutes before for then to tell me they gonna get to it

Frequently missed trash pickups, sometimes for consecutive weeks... They have a missed pickup notification option on their website, but apparently its there for customers to vent their frustration and nothing more. Sometimes the trash will stay out in front of our house for a week or more. The only thing theyre consistent about is their billing... I have been a customer for many years and have noticed a considerable decline in the quality of their services over the past year. Perhaps its time to find another company to do business with...

After reading these reviews Im glad to see I wasnt the only customer being neglected. I cant comprehend how this company is still afloat. I have not had my trash picked up in 3 months. I put in missed pick up requests weekly. Customer service representatives tell me I will be contacted by management and not ONCE has that happened. It is astonishing they continue to charge my account when my trash has not been collected in months. Its a shame because Ive had this trash company for years and never had any problems. Just in the past few months they have completely failed me as their customer. Im not sure who is responsible for this but something needs to change! For anyone looking for a trash service... My yard waste was nor picked up yesterday. I placed the yard waste in the trash and recycling bins that I have done for the last dozen years and the last 3 years with Republic Services. Not only was my yard waste not picked up but many Republic customers on a cross street in my neighborhood, I called Republic Services this morning and did not expect a prompt response based on the Google reviews. The first person I talked to was not helpful but the next person up the complaint chain, Brenda, contacted the local Republic Service location and 2 hours later my trash was picked up. So I am very happy with their prompt response. Brenda called me back after the trash was picked up and asked me if I was satisfied. Republic Services should congratulate Brenda with saving a customer for going to the main Trash pickup competitor in Fairfax County

My neighborhoods normal recycle pickup is on Tuesdays and for some reason our bin was missed, even though it had been out at the curb since the night before. So I called Republic Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and today as our bin still sat by the curb waiting to be picked-up. Of course, I was told each time I called, by the very nice customer service group in NC (only reason they got 1 star), that it would be picked up by 6:00pm that day. I even initiated a call from our HOA to our local representative and was told it would be picked up as well. Thursday, I was a little frustrated so I called to speak to a supervisor and asked for the local phone number. I was told they can not give out the local number and they would send a message and have one call me back. I sit here today, Friday evening, and I got nothing, no callback, no pickup! This has to be the worst company I have ever experienced. The local management team should seriously look into a different company to work for...one they can take pride in. It is clear, based on the other reviews and my own experience, they do not take pride in this one.

Service has gradually degraded to now being unreliable. Household trash and especially yard waste pickups are frequently not accomplished on scheduled days or missed for an entire week. Temporary rate hikes somehow have become permanent with no explanation. Service reduced, rates not. Website frequently down for construction so cant contact them, and no voice mail so impossible to lodge a complaint or even ask a question. Agree with other reviewer, time to change companies. Probably should have done so before now but seeing my yard waste out front again today, days after scheduled pick-up again, has me online right now searching for a new trash company.

Republic missed pick up...I called so they scheduled a re-pick up but did not do so on any of the three days they promised....and eventually confirmed my pick up would occur on the normally scheduled day !! I was put through to a supervisor who turned out not to be one, and a second one who was unsympathetic and firm that she could not and would not offer an explanation of why I was strung along for four days. She agreed to have the local office call me. I am not holding my breath. In all, Republic personnel handling the Fairfax County area exhibited a total lack of customer service, told several untruths (that I was scheduled for a re-pick up when I was not, that I was being transferred to a supervisor but he was not one), and was unwilling to even try to help me understand why re-pick ups were not done. Very disappointing. A call to address my concerns here would be appropriate and appreciated.

Signed up for service in May, nothing but problems from day 1. Wouldnt pick up yard waste, multiple calls to customer service, still took forever to get resolved. Multiple missed pickups, more calls to customer service. Polite, but not helpful. Finally gave up and switched, no problems with new provider. Left Republic containers on the curb for pickup as directed after I cancelled service, took 3 days before they were collected. Now the good part; got an invoice for $170 for carts not returned. Called customer service; they insisted the carts were never left for pickup and the proof is the driver took a picture. Asked for a supervisor to call me; still waiting. Worst service I have ever received. New service provider doing great; no problems. I paid the $170 b/c its not worth the risk of being referred to a collection agency. Giving a 1 star rating only because 0 stars not an option.

After 4 weeks of trying my best to get a quote for my 7 homes HOA, I was told by a gentleman name James Evans that I must submit my request on an official letterhead from the association, which we obviously don’t have. Then requested our Tax Id after talking to his supervisor “Carsen Robinson”. After several email I was told “Sorry but we cannot quote the work”. I found this to be a ridicules denial of service and we will be more than happy to switch to a different provider and provide all communication in Email.

This company has awful awful service. I tried to schedule a bulk pick-up, only to have them never pick-up as scheduled over a week. I called four times and was assured it was scheduled. I finally canceled the pick-up, and was refunded the $172 they quoted, and now theyve charged me an exorbitant amount of $1200, including a $200 fuel fee. Avoid this company. I am now having to invest time trying to cancel the false payment. Their customer service pretends to care but they dont do their job and will try and overcharge you for work they dont perform.

Stay away from this company at all costs! You’re better off paying more money to another company for actual service! Every previous bad review here is absolutely accurate! They only pick up whenever and whatever they want, leave the rest. Don’t waste your time calling to complain, they will try to give you the “corporate number,” which is a dead end. If you see an “apology response” posted here, it’s a cut and paste from a bot overseas. You’re better off taking your trash to the landfill on your own! Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE business!

We have been customers of Republic Service for years. Since COVID they have decreased the number of days they pick up your trash and still continue to charge the same amount. In addition, we have requested 2 large load pick ups. 1 was picked up as requested, the second load was supposed to be picked up on Monday 6/22. We loaded all items in front of the drive, and guess what no pickup. We have called them numerous times and still no pickup. We were told Monday, then Thursday, possibility Friday. We were assured it would be picked up today 6/29, and still the items remain in front of our house waiting for pick up. This is extremely unprofessional and terrible customer service. We are definitely not happy with the service as of late.

We have not had our trash picked up for now 3 weeks not including 2 “missed pick ups” that never showed up.Every week I watch the trash truck drive right by our house on our RING camera. For being the most expensive trash company in our area, they are also the worst I’m guessing. Our neighbors trash also hasn’t been picked up in 2 weeks.If I could give them no stars, I would. If you’re in the Northern VA area you should use American instead of republic. They are 1/3 the price and offer the same service.I’ve call to cancel my republic account 3x, in that process the account was not canceled, and my trash was not picked up for at least 90 days.They also would not refund me for the months they missed and they are charging me a $25 pick up fee for their trash can which I’m sure they won’t show up to pick up anyway.

0 stars. Horrible company.They have literally only been to my house once and that was to drop off bins. They never picked up my trash for 2 months even though I contacted them about every missed pickup. I cancelled my account 3 weeks ago and they STILL havent picked up my bins. I get a reminder every Tuesday that theyll be here on Wednesday and I contact them every Thursday to say that the bins are still here. Customer service reps are nice but apparently the internal communication throughout the company sucks because I cant get these huge bins out of my yard and get my deposit back.

They consistently messed up my account, double or triple charged me, gave inaccurate information regarding a dumpster rental, and after spending hours on the phone trying to correct all this I had one customer service rep who was so rude I was shocked.Another rep had told me that i could request a recycle bin pick up and clean out for $150. When I called back to ask for this the new rep I got (Darryl) sarcastically ask me oh, you think you know more about my job than I do? and claimed there was no such service. Missed pick up? Dont bother calling to complain, youre wasting your time. The call center will say theyre putting in an expedited request and will lie to your face about the problem being resolved that day or the next morning. Doesnt happen. They missed a pickup on Tuesday, Ive called every single day since (today is Saturday) to complain because our trashcan is completely full, we cant put anything else in it. Each time I called I was told that it would be taken care of that day or the next morning. Clearly if Im writing this, thats not happened. Lying to your PAYING customers is NEVER a good customer service move.How do I know theyve been lying to me? I actually had someone on the phone at the call center this afternoon who had the honesty to tell me that the call center has NO control over the local operations center. They put in a ticket but ultimately if the local operations center doesnt feel like fixing the problem, they dont have to and the call center has no way to make them. So while the customer representative will say the pickup will be made the next day, they have absolutely no means of making sure it will be. If Id been told that from the beginning Id still be annoyed at the lack of service, but much less irate then I am now after being lied to for four straight days.

Very possibly the worst company Ive ever dealt with in any industry. Missed pickups 5 weeks in a row, I called to schedule missed pickups, they say Im so sorry, theyre coming out today for sure. Guess what, they missed all of those as well!!! 4 times Ive spoken with supervisors that promised to confirm with the local team and call me back in a couple hours. I received 0 calls back. I feel bad for the next company thats going to have to pick up a month and a half of recycling after I fire Republic. 1 star is too generous.

Ive lived in my house for 27 years. Most of these years were served by AAA. Republic took over. Never had a problem until the last 5 months. Missed pickups are the norm now. The promises made by customer service obviously get you off the phone, but are mostly not kept. Its obvious that Republic does not care and feels they have a captive clientele. Great time for a new company to come into town!

We placed our yard waste at the curb last Wednesday morning. When it wasnt picked up I called Republic and was told it would be picked up with the regular trash pickup on Friday. I wasnt picked up on Friday and when I called I was told that it would be scheduled as a missed pickup on Monday. It wasnt picked up on Monday, and when I called this morning I received no indication as to when it might be picked up. Your service, or lack thereof, is unacceptable.

The service was cut from 2 times a week to once a week ,with a eight dollar decrease in the bill.The service has been inconsistent numerous times they have failed to pick up my yard wast even-though it has been on the curb as required. Although they have suspended yard waste pickup some of my neighbors yard waste in bags has been picked up however mine which was in a container and baged was not. Just horrible. Miss trash pickups 25% of the time. Trash piles up and then often they miss the next time they were supposed to pick up the trash they missed. Not sure if it matters to write a review on this company as the current reviews of them are so true and cant get any worse than what they are getting! Went from twice a week service to once a week service. They said we will give you an extra bin for only $4 a month so that should help accommodate the lost day. You would expect going from twice a week to once a week we would see some savings on our bill but nope. So here we are first week of once a week service and nothing. No pick up and no call. We call in to make sure they will pick up and am told we are behind and no ETA when well get there. Two bins overflowing on the street of trash and these guys cant even give you an ETA when they will pick up if they pick up. Horrible!!! Stay away!

“When it comes to handling your waste needs, we know how important dependable pickup and disposal are to you.” is a big lie. They reduced our service to once a week and reduced the bill by $6.00 a month. What we got was pickup once every two week. When terminating Republic, they want $20.00 for the container pickup, which they did not do on their scheduled date. Lorton dump took the containers for $13.00. American Trash removal is $11.00 cheaper a month (even with the $6.00 from Republic) with twice a week reliable service. Id give Republic zero stars, but I had to give one star to post this.

They are absolutely terrible, first of all the workers destroy the trash cans throwing them from very far away and when you talk to them they dont pay attention or care, also they decided to cut 1 day of service and the pick up of recycling and cuttings are all in different days so in other words every day of the week there is something in front of your front door.... it destroys the site of the entire neighborhood...on top of that customer service is not train to be in that position...also they are charging me an extra $25 to pick up their own trash can.. They recently missed picking up the trash on our entire street. My wife called and we were promised that we would be rescheduled on three different times. Nothing was picked up. At least two of our neighbors called as well and nothing happened. Apparently the customer service department can only send an email to the delivery department but then does nothing to follow up. If I had another choice in trash pickup services I would change but Fairfax County has limited us to who we can use.

Constantly leaving trash in my can. When they come they hand pick through the bags in the can they want to take and put them in a wheelie-can, instead of dumping the can itself. They wont collect your trash unless its bagged up neatly inside of the can. When they rifle through the can they drop trash around and dont pick it up, leaving dangerous items in the lawn where kids play. Strongly recommend avoiding them.

Since merging with AAA trash services - this company routinely does not empty the trash bins leaving garbage to ferment in the heat of summer. Calling their customer service doesnt have any effect - they still leave trash on a regular basis requiring me to empty and disinfect the bin nearly every week.
