Technician showed up prepared, mask/booties/drop cloth for both outside and inside4. Inspection found that a cleaning was an optional service at this time, saving us money in the process5. Our tech provided us with recommendations, considerations, assisted with small assistance with how to use fireplace cement and things to keep an eye out forOverall, very pleased, happy, and have a wealth in peace of mind knowing that our fireplace is sufficiently maintained and that we have a newly found maintenance partner in the process, whom we will exclusively support for our fireplace needs in the future.

This is our 2nd chimney inspection and cleaning with Rooftop Chimney Sweeps since we moved in Herndon. The service is top notch, albeit kind of pricey, but for professionalism and thorough service, its worth the peace of mind. Will is honest, very knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain the condition of our chimney and fireplace as well as what his recommendations are if there are any issues he sees during the inspection. He will not push you to make a decision right then and there if you are not comfortable and gives you the opportunity to do your research and make your decision later. We checked other companies and even their competitors had nothing but good feedback on them! Incredible! Flawless service on chimney inspections for two different properties. Kenny is The Man when you want a thorough chimney inspection with a video. He is very punctual, friendly and has many years of experience. His report is excellent value and extremely thorough. He explains every aspect in great detail and in such a way that you can easily understand what is needed and why. The office is run like clockwork and their website is highly functional and easy to navigate. I love being able to schedule an inspection or service on line. Failing chimneys are a huge safety issue and every home buyer MUST get a video inspection done as a part of their home inspection process. One errant spark in a mortar crack can result in the a major house fire. Its just not worth taking the risk. Chimneys and fireplaces can be very costly to repair and make safe and I would never buy a house without having this inspection done. Kenny is knowledgeable, kind and honest and I feel very lucky to have found him. 5 stars all around!

Our technicians name was Sam and he had an assistant whose name I wish I could remember. The team worked well together and accomplished everything promptly. The cleaning was done very well and there was no mess whatsoever. We knew some repair would be necessary, and Sam explained everything thoroughly and answered all questions completely. We are going to follow up with what we believe the best option will be for us. Service was outstanding and lots of good information to use was provided. Rooftop inspected our chimney in 2019, and replaced the liner in 2020. They were very thorough in their explanations and very clean (which is very much appreciated). Havent used the chimney yet, but had a great experience with every employee I spoke to!

Griffin was superb - professional, friendly, informative. They were scheduled for 10:30 but called that morning & were available to come earlier if that worked for us. So many service businesses give you a 2 hr window, Rooftop gave us a time and then even came early which worked out great. They cleaned our fireplace, showed us a small crack but said not to worry about it now but would need to be watched. Offered to set us up for spring of 2021 to inspect again. Overall both guys were great.

Rooftop Chimney Sweeps is professional and virtuous, two things that are not always common in the home service industry. They are quick to respond to inquiries, take great care while in your home (wear booties, cover floor, etc.), are promotion appointment time, and clear with their recommendations. One of the parts I liked best was I received a text message letting me know what technician was on the way to my home with a photo of him and a little bio. Since I was home alone I appreciated having that extra info and knowing exactly who I was letting into my house.Jason and Jake were friendly and polite. They took the time to explain what they were doing step by step. They performed inside fireplace and chimney inspection and then the exterior. They also cleaned/swept our chimney.At the end Jason reviewed our options both internally and externally. We paid for the service and then he left us with the info and estimates to consider. No pressure, which was lovely. I would (and do) recommend them to anyone who needs and inspection, service, or simple sweep.

Was impressed with Rooftop Chimney Sweeps. The guys arrived promptly, were genuinely friendly, wore shoe covers to keep the hardwood floors clean, and explained what they were doing each step of the way. This was very important to me since we have a historically protected house and I’m always concerned about damage etc. Very clear early on that they took the necessary care and respected the age of the house.Being able to discuss the problem and possible solutions with Grant was very helpful and provided transparency and clarity to me. Phillip provided a high quality inspection of our firebox and chimney flue. He engaged with his customers throughout the entire inspection to explain what he was doing, and allowed us to see the condition of the flue using their video camera. He sealed some minor cracks in the fire box. He and his crew took measures to keep our house clean. They were professional and courteous.

Kenny was great and knowledgeable. Service was efficient and on time. Price was reasonable. Even took time to let me know the limitations of my prefabricated fireplace and some suggestions on how to use to stay out of trouble. I will definitely be using this company again and strongly recommend.

Rooftop Chimney Sweeps did a thorough and excellent job and the two technicians were both very polite and professional. They were also very clean and covered the furniture when cleaning the chimney. They followed the cleaning and inspection with an email report complete with photographs, notes and any recommendations. I want to be clear that this isnt a knock on Grant, our tech, as he was punctual, friendly and communicated well. This review is more of a referendum on the process of Rooftop Chimney Sweeps. They spent three hours at my house - 30 minutes of which was spent in the actual sweeping of the chimney.The rest of the time was spent preparing an inspection report which is really just an estimate and a sales pitch. Total bill if I want to do the full chimney rehab - $10,000. Cool. I can get a mason to patch it up for $300. If you want a song and dance, dog and pony show, whatever... these guys are solid and will give you all that and then some. If you want a sweep and to move on with your life, keep looking.

I appreciated the pre-visit email with the photo of the technician. Communication pre-visit was good, Will called to let me know he was on his way. Will was very good to explain what he was doing with my flue inspection. I showed me photos/video of what he was seeing. He made recommendations, but did not pressure me into having anything done. Instead of expecting a faceless, none-caring person I felt that the person coming was a personable person who really wanted to provide honest roof inspection. ”Samuel” and ”Jake” were WONDERFUL! Jacob and his assistants conducted themselves in a courteous and professional manner. Our chimney was 70 years old and was in need of repair. Work provided included initial inspection and report, removal of old firebox damper and broken terra cotta liner, installation of new chamber coating at firebox, installation of two new chimney linings, reconnection of furnace/water heater vents to new chimney flue liner, repointing of brickwork at top of chimney, and installation of new chimney damper and caps. They were very good about wearing shoe covers, face masks, laying tarps down on the floors, vacuuming repeatedly during the repair process to minimize amount of chimney dust in the house, and cleaning up at the end of each day. The company was good about communicating days that the crew would be at the house and Jacob and his crew responded well to questions with good explanations. He was very polite, personable, conscientious, and took pride in his work. I was pleased with the work and would recommend them to anyone having work done on their chimney.

Carlos was excellent. They arrived early, inspected the chimney inside and out. Carlos determined the chimney didnt need cleaning, but upon his inspection he recommended a couple of things that will need attention. Overall he and his partner were great. Rooftop Chimney Sweeps did a great job. The two associates were very professional and knowledgeable. They arrived early and called first to see if that was OK. They inspected both chimneys, cleaned bird debris out of one and put on a wire cap. They made sure the house did not get dirty and replaced the furniture that needed to be moved. I thought the price was fair for the work. They gave me an estimate for longer-term repairs needed for both chimneys, which will help us budget going forward, although I will get comparison estimates before committing.I recommend these guys.

Our experience with Rooftop Chimney Sweeps was excellent! Their inspector is very professional and will take the time to explain the issues with photographs to support his facts. He scheduled the contractors to come out the next day to connect the furnace to the exhaust chimney that was totally clogged with debris. The contractors did a fantastic job and minimal damage to reach behind the walls. We could not have been be better served!

Grant Raycroft and his crew were here twice because we had to wait till the Swifty Birds abandoned one of the chimneys in early fall. Many good photos were taken so we could get an idea how the interior and the exterior looked before any caps were installed and any cleaning of the damper was done. I highly recommend this company and Im really thrilled that we will have no more birds to worry about.
