Rented a Ford Escape to drive to the Arctic Circle for the day. Smooth check in, car was clean, gassed up and ready to go. No issues, drove over 400 miles and felt confident the vehicle would get us back safely. CB radio came in handy, glad it was provided. Guide book for driving the Dalton Highway was a great addition, it gave very detailed info mile by mile of the entire highway. Overall a great experience, highly recommended!!

Great yours and easy to work with on rentals. Return policy was fast and easy, and cheap Uber ride back to main terminal.

Everything was great until I went to find out where the nearest gas station was to top off tank before turning it in and an old lady named Rita made the snide remark open your eyes. They would do well to get rid of her.

Vehicle performed well on the Dalton Highway. Expensive but was worth being able to go to the Arctic Circle and the Atigun Pass.

When we initially called to make reservations for a vehicle to drive up Dalton Highway, the lady lectured us over the phone that we were leaving late blah blah blah she wanted our information right away but when we arrived to their facility, they had not begun to process any paperwork...anyway the car rental process was great, we were given a ford escape, we made it to the artic circle and made tons of memories in one day... oh the truckstop in Fox has amazing pie, try some.

Granted they are the only show in town for Dalton Highway car rentals, and we had a nice trip, but three things I didn’t like: 1). They give 250 miles per day, which is insufficient for round trip to Coldfoot, and they start your journey by pre charging you for 30 miles. 2) They will tell you it’s 10 hours to Coldfoot to get two days of rental from you, but we did it easily in 6.5 averaging about 40 MPH, with most of the stops. For our day we left at 8:30 and were back from Coldfoot at 11 PM. 3). The radio volume is locked out with Ford Mykey to a level of about 30% of maximum, which is nearly inaudible when traveling on the unpaved sections of highway (paired with iPhone). Would have been a better road trip with tunes, so bring your speaker. For a five star review they should be more flexible with the contract, offer more miles per day, and fix the volume issue (or at least be upfront about it). In conclusion pay the money or bring your own car.

The most interesting car reservation experience.By still unknown reason, the company has a strict policy that only people aged > 30 are allow to rent here.Suggested to wait another year to rent from them, quite an interesting way to do business.

Had a car reserved and found out at 6 pm the night before that our car was broken down. I guess this company rents them all and holds none in reserve for such an occasion. The company offeredus a 2 for 1 seat on the bus tour for the day so we still were able to get to the arctic circle

We picked up a rental car for our drive on the Dalton Hwy. Car was fully equipped with CB radio, full spare on rim, tool kit, and first aid kit. They were informative upon pick up and very responsive. I sent an email to them on Sunday while we were in Coldfoot (they’re closed on Sun) and received a response back quickly. Dropped the car off at around 10p and it was a quick in/out. If you’re thinking that maybe a special rental isn’t necessary for your trip up the Dalton Hwy, I strongly encourage you to reconsider. There was a van that didn’t have the proper equipment and the family was stranded on the road for 8+ hours waiting for a tow. Commercial rental companies won’t allow their cars on the road and it can make for an uncovered expensive tow (sometimes $5/mi) and repair - not to mention you don’t have a way to communicate via radio with nearby cars/truckers via the radio (which we relied on) and zero cell service until Coldfoot. It’s expensive but there’s no other way to do it. Great service, would recommend.!

Good rental cars. But when I call them, they said there are no more cars to rent.

Nice company with very quick responds over emails. The office was at the other side of the airport. The wind screen of the car was broke but the staff said it was safe to drive on Dalton, we still felt a bit worried. Apart from this, everything was excellent.

Immoral company! Do not use! We rented a car to do the Dalton Hwy drive and this company overcharged me for an extra day in the about of $212.00 and refused to take it off. The workers were very rude! When I disputed the charge through my credit card company, they doctored the return date to make it look like I returned the car the day that they charged me through. Credit card company said since I had ready signed the credit card slip that there was nothing they can do about companies that commit fraud like this. So, they basically stole $212.00 from me. I will be reporting them to the better business Bureau and will be telling everyone I know to use their competitor.

Great company with a solid customer focus run by nice people. We rented for Dalton highway from these guys after comparing the quote from Alaska auto rentals and Go north, and arctic outfitters was cheapest. Their rental is by calendar day and not by hours of the day (as one of the reviewer made that mistake I think) and it was ok with us because we were going to return the car by the midnight of the last day anyway. We got a Ford Escape (as expected) with M+S tires and extra full size tire and CB radio (which we didnt really need and there wasnt much traffic on channel 19 anyway).. Regaeding the car, well its surely not a brand new car but I then was not expecting one and it did the job on gravel road just fine.... I felt Dalton highway isnt as bad as internet would tell you and you must do this trip once in a lifetime. The road is so secluded and you feel so close to the nature and your surroundings. Anyway it was a great experience with arctic outfitters. Justin explained the car well during the check in, and Sherri resolved any concerns we had about the rental upon our return with utmost professionalism. We would surely return to Dalton highway again and will rent from here in a hearbeat.
