Theres a reason all of the reviews here are positive. Owner Ben did everything he said he would. A crew arrived two days after he gave me a price. At first I thought it was a bit much for three guys. They did an amazing job and clean up, in half a day. I couldnt be more satisfied. In fact a couple of baby birds fell out of a tree, and one of the guys(ponytail) was there putting them in a new nest on the same tree when I came back later. I will definitely be a return customer. My husband and I recently purchased a home and part of the property includes a birch tree with several dead limbs. We called several tree trimming services to come take a look. One service told us over the phone they don’t know much about birch trees and if it’s infested they’d recommend we just cut it down. Another told us that we had people already looking at the tree so they wouldn’t be coming out. Ben at Highlands Tree Service was so courteous and prompt! He came to the house the day after I spoke with him and said that while it’s likely the tree is infested the tree looks really healthy with the exception of the 2 dead limbs. He said he has dealt with the birch beetle quite a bit lately and was really confident the tree could be salvaged. He can put THE NEXT MORNING to treat the tree and clear out the dead limbs. They were prompt, respectful of the property and did a great job cleaning up after all the cutting. Ben talked with me for quite a while afterward discussing what to look for now that the tree has been treated and the follow up care. Their price was really reasonable as well. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Highland Tree Service.

Highland Tree Service removed a very large Elm tree from my property. I got multiple bids, but found Ben to be very reasonable and personable. He arrived on time with his crew and a crane to remove the tree. They worked fast and efficiently and completed the job in record time. They left the area looking 100%. I could not be happier with my experience working with Ben. I highly recommend him.

Ben and his crew at Highland Tree Service were professional, thorough and were great communicators. They showed up when they said they would, took extra precautions to insure no damage was done to surrounding buildings when taking down my cedar tree and left the area looking cleaner than it had looked upon their arrival to the job site. Due to my living an hour an a half from the job, Ben took the extra time to take pictures of the job as it progressed to show the work that they were doing and what the area looked like at completion. We experience tree damage from the snow storms of February 2019. 2 Douglas Firs fell across our house. We obtained a number of bids but found that Highlands bid was fair, the work was planned out expertly and most importantly we received continuous communication on the planning and status of the work. The job was scheduled when the site was safe. Bens team arrived as planned on time and had the 2 trees removed with no incident. This was quite the job as a crane was used to remove the trees. They left the site cleaned up and all debris removed. Very professional. In addition, we had Highland removed the stumps as well. Job well done fellas!!

I called Highland to remove a small tree from my roof as a result of the recent snow storm in Eugene. The owner and 1 crew arrived on Tuesday and wasn’t able to make it up our hill with his large 4x4. Myself and two neighbors helped cut a track in front of his truck. He decided not to attempt to go any further and didn’t bother to thank me or my neighbors for helping dig out the track. Whatever on that....He walked the remaining 300ft to my house and assessed the tree. He didn’t think it was going to be a big deal to remove, but decided not to remove it that day as the sun was going down. He stated he would return the next day and would email a bid later that night.Later that night he emailed a bid for $2900.00 to remove the portion of the small tree that was on the roof. The bid also indicated a $690.00 charge to remove what amounted to a small amount of tree debris that would fit in the back of my own small truck. That’s nearly $4000.00 to remove a small tree and by small I mean about 7 inches in diameter and 20-25 feet tall. I measured the tree. The bid stated that he would only remove the portion of the tree on the roof which implied he would not remove the entire tree.In addition, he refused to accept credit card despite his website stating credit cards are accepted. I asked why and he refused to answer the question.I denied his bid and called another respectable tree service, James Cummings. Their bid process was much more professional. Highland sent me a cell phone picture of a hand written bid sitting on the table. James Cummings bid the job for $850.00 and sent the bid using an online acceptance process. Very professional. They promptly arrived to my property, removed the tree under snowy conditions, cut the wood to a manageable size and hauled it up the hill to curbside so I could better deal with the wood. Thank you, James Cummings.My recommendation is to stay away from Highland as they engage in price gouging behavior and appear to have less than ethical business practices (credit card issue, etc). If you do get a bid from Highland, then make sure you do your homework and get a second bid.

My wife and I hired Highland Tree Service for pruning and removal of our two large maple trees. Ben was quick to schedule a free estimate for the work and was able to schedule us within two weeks.His crew worked quickly and professionally. We were very pleased with the detailed clean up after the job was finished and would highly recommend them. We plan on using Highland Tree Service for all of our tree service needs in the future!

We had Highland Tree do massive laural bush pruning, in addition to tree limbs pruned on several trees. Really prompt, friendly, and very professional service. I’m so impressed. My laural bush was about 20 feet tall and about eight feet wide. They pruned it to 14 feet tall and 4 feet wide. This is much more maintainable and healthy. It looks beautiful! Excellent clean up job also. I highly recommend them.

My husband and I had a pear tree removed from our back yard and a cherry tree trimmed back. Beautiful trees all sizes all shapes. Great place for a family outing

The good: friendly, experienced staff.The mildly disappointing: the lack of extra care and regard for landscaping working in a tight spot.By dropping and dragging limbs rather than lifting them they broke my wire flower bed fencing in 3 spots so the section where they were working needs to be replaced (not expensive, just unnecessary). Two large rocks were knocked into the koi pond causing a tear in the liner and a leak. The items they did move were not put back in place.With that said, cleanup was thorough and the actual work on the trees was great.Overall, I would recommend them. With tight space and landscaping below, I recommend a discussion on what to expect as potential damage before work is started. However, they do know their trade and aside from some preventable minor mishaps the results were great.

We looked at several businesses to take out a tree in our back yard that was very close to our house and selected Ben. He was very competitive in pricing, completed the work when scheduled and overall did a great job. We highly recommend.
