Mail sitting at this location for a week and was sent certified mail to the customer on 8/31. Terrible service, cant get anyone on the phone, emails bounce back. They need to get it together over there. Terrible. I am writing to the post master also as this was a time sensitive item and is sitting there for days! Unacceptable.. Waiting on hold for 40 minutes on the 800 number for someone to answer...disgraceful.

My business has not received mail in 7 days...nor has outgoing mail been picked up. Unfortunately the mail plays an essential role in our company. I have called continuously, Faxed the post office and tried every email I can find. Does anyone know the process in which to pick up your mail? I cannot get any answers what so ever. After reading the reviews I dont believe I will ever get any.

Informed Delivery shows items that I wont likely receive. Still waiting on Christmas cards from December. Mail carrier hits only 2-3 houses on the block and only about 2x a week and then leaves. Medication, MVA items, bills, etc. never appear. On days when I do get mail its junk mail most of this year.

I had a package claimed to have been delivered. When I called they claimed it was handed to me when they delivered. However, the cameras on my porch never recorded this because it was a lie. They then said they found the package behind conveyor belt and to meet them at back door of post office after close and they would give to me. Very unusual. When they handed my package over it was opened.Now I have another expensive package missing. Supposed to be here 3 days ago and there is no update.

Repeatedly our business has scheduled pick ups and repeatedly they dont show up. REPEATEDLY we have called and offered solutions such as getting them to send the person who collects the Blue Boxes (since we dont have a permanent carrier). There is a blue box RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET! This is costing our business money and now lately they cant even pick up the phone. Excuses, excuses. I have to close shop all the time at 4:45 to take my own packages to the Post Office by 5 - and when I do - I take them to Middle River Office because ESSEX Post Office is A WRECK and HORRIBLE Customer Service and Management. I wish we could get on Middle Rivers route - unfortunately I was told we cant because of our zip code. SO, we lose at least an hour of business per week because this Post Office cant figure out how get someone to pick up our SCHEDULED pick ups between 9-5. This has been going on for a year now.

Their delivery staff seriously needs to be reevaluated. I needed a gift for valentine’s day, and I was expecting it by Feb. 13. I am then notified on the night of the 13th that there was a delivery attempt made, at a time that I was home might I add, and there was nothing of the sort. I live in an apartment building that requires people to be buzzed in in order to access the front door of those who live inside; however, not a single person buzzed my apartment building to get in during the so called “attempt.” I can’t believe there are employees not being honest & and half-heartedly doing their jobs, especially during a busy time such as this one. Disappointing.

Love our mail carrier his name is Jeff he’s always pleasant and even has treats for everyone’s dogs he is the best. He goes out of his way and makes sure we receive our packages 📦 too. As far as the post office I won’t rate because I don’t go there often but I will say it usually takes a while.

The female mail carrier that has our route is constantly delivering the mail to the wrong house. Appears to have skipped delivery on a few Fridays. Seen putting mail in just a couple of boxes and then driving off. Has not taken outgoing mail from the box. Pure laziness in my opinion. This is happening in the New Haven Drive area of Essex.

This post office needs to be investigated about who is in charge! Management here is lacking and when that is lacking the entire facility will be lacking; without proper leadership. Today (6/2/2020) at 12:20pm. I went to the post because my mail ballot from Monday was shredded so I was unable to do my mail in voting. Upon my trip to the post office the clerk there was so friendly so nice, I asked to speak to the manager. It took the manager about 15 minutes to come out and she did not say hello to me or how can I help you or even sorry for the wait, instead she acting like I was being an inconvenience to her. The managers first words were why are you bringing that here today. I replied with “this is the first day I was able to get to the post office due to my schedule and Im here to bring this to attention. The manager then proceeded to lecture me on what I could have done, she said why did you not to in person to vote or order a new one. I told her due to my schedule I couldn’t and the mail in ballot was my only option. The manager at this Essex branch is incredibly impersonal. This voting ballot was not a huge deal because the candidates were already selected. My issue was that the ballot came in the mail like this and the manager there who is anything but customer service friendly pretty much disregarded what I was saying and told me she would tell the mail carrier but what I should have done; that wasn’t the issue the issue was I received shredded mail and it was a voting ballot. I was only bringing attention to this issue because I was unable to vote; I did not need a lecture on why didn’t I do this or that. My schedule is paper thin on spare time. I sincerely hope if anyone else has an issue with this place to speak up. Also the place is filthy, yeah I know its a post office but it is nasty and so unorganized in there. The only good thing about this place was the front clerk; she was very kind, but management and customer service is non existent. I also want to add that every time I see the mail carrier they are on their phones or Bluetooth devices; its really unprofessional.

The Essex Post Office actually deserves a zero or negative rating. I have not received mail in 2 days. I know the post office has my medication because I get an Informed Delivery email every day. This is not the first time I have not received my mail. I have filed many complaints but they go to the Essex Post Office Manager who does nothing. This time the complaint is going over her head to the next level. Its time to clean out the dead wood and hire people who are interested in doing their job.

When an address is the name, number and apartment number is correct the mail carriers drlivers mail to that address without the apartment number. Instead the address on these mail just says E. Baltimore Maryland or E. Essex Maryland. Consequently the mail has another name. Thus must be returned to post office for the correct address for that person. Our temporary mailmen are not taking all incorrect mailings back to the post office, but lets it build up unless a person individually takes to their office.Can this be corrected? Thank you for your assistance and support.

Usually, I dont have any complaints about this place. Its just another Post Office. I dont expect jaw-dropping customer service. I pay almost nothing to get my mail and I get the same level of quality in return.That said, guys: Can you PLEASE not bend packages when youre putting them in peoples mail boxes? I had important documents delivered and now theyre mangled and bent from being shoved in the box.To anyone getting their mail through here, pay the little bit extra to get your mail insured. Otherwise youre gambling on how your mail will be delivered. I didnt get my stuff insured and today I lost. Dont let it happen to you!

WOW after reading some of these reviews I’m seeing that I’m not the only one who thinks this office IS indeed one of the worst there is out there. This office should be investigated inside and outside top to bottom through the Office of Inspectors. Noticeably customer experience is out the door and the employees could care less about anyone who walks through the door. The office itself cannot hold onto employees with a huge turn over rate that reflects extremely poorly of the office post master. That is her office and her team which is a BIG BIG reflection of her. After running into issues after my dog BLINKED at a mail carrier I’ve had the worst customer experience there is ever to give to ones consumers. This ENTIRE office needs replacing OR JUST SHUT IT DOWN!!!!These employees are NOT worth the pay check. Seriously!! What a disgrace and what a poor representation of the USPS!! Time to clean HOUSE!!

At least once a week, packages or pieces of mail that we need are delivered to the wrong address. Sometimes to a different street in our neighborhood, sometimes our next door neighbor, sometimes we just never know/find it. There is no reason for this to happen as oftrn as it does. About 75% of the time they mail to the correct address. The other 25% it gets sent to a different address. The household it is sent to is nice enough to send us our packages and when I look at the address it is written correctly just not read correctly. Great customer service up front, just not so great deliveries.

After waiting in line for 15 minutes, due to the presence if only one clerk, I proceeded to have to wait another 25 (so far, still in line) minutes for a supervisor. Havent been able to get into my mailbox in months and no one cares enough to resolve. However, I do need to commend the clerk on duty. Sandra was so patient and friendly, and though you could tell she was frustrated, she wasnt letting the pressure get to her in the least.

This Post Office needs to be investigated. I havent received mail and have called twice about it. When I did get mail it was delivered to the shop below my apt with a note missing key. Im not getting my bills on a timely bases in order to may payments. The most recent was a package I was waiting for and got a tracking record claiming attempted delivery and left a receipt. I was home and got no receipt left in my mailbox or on my door. Something needs to be fixed

Went to purchase 4 passports. Took over 30 minutes, the clerk attached the incorrect money order fee to the wrong application, did not sign the application and it was returned. I had to go back to the branch, redo an application, pay additional fees and take another picture. I have taken additional action against this place. Very unprofessional and please ride pass here and visit a location that will provide accurate good service. No apologies or anything will be done. Youll have to escalate all problems to another agency. Very bad service AND MANAGEMENT!!!

There is a new mail delivery man that is absolutely incompetent in any respect. He will drive the same street at least twice and still would not deliver the mail. Yesterday around noon, I left an envelope in the mail and its still there after 24 hours. Most of the time our mail is being delivered after 8 pm or not at all. Postal carriers never shut our gate when clearly theres dog signs posted, the customer service is nice when I get money orders but always have to wait in line for a minimum of 30 minutes because certain women employees spend too much time talking and not moving the line when its clearly full.

Absolutely HORRIBLE. All but 1 employee are lazy, incompetent, and have no respect for their patrons. Friday I paid 25 bucks to have a letter overnighted from MD to FL and the package wasnt delivered until Monday at 230pm. So I went to get my refund because their signs, receipts, etc, say money back guarantee. After waiting in line for 45 minutes I hand the lady my receipt and tell her my overnight package from 3 days ago didnt arrive on time so if like my refund. The lady goes in the back for another 25 minutes just to come out and tell me the supervisor said no refund because the delay was due to bad weather. Now that friday I paid for the overnight service it was 60 degrees and sunny all day and was the same for every state between here and Florida. So that was just a complete lie to get out of having to do your damn job and refund a customer for a service he paid $25 for but was not met. So I asked to speak to the supervisor that denied my money back gaurentee refund and the employee goes in the back and returns a few seconds later and says she said no, she wont talk to you so you can go online and file a complaint if you want, but she said she wont talk to. What kind of manager or supervisor refused to speak to a customer with questions? Cynthia Taylor, thats who. Supervisor of the Maryland ave Essex branch post office, I will be taking legal actions against the post office if she is not fired and my refund isnt issued. False advertisement of a money back guarantee on a service that took almost 87 hours when it is a n3xt day service. So in reality the post office stole 25 dollars and refuse to return it when caught. The line is always atleast 15 ppl deep and the average time to take care of each customer in that office is about 30 to 45 min. Only 1 lady there is competent and does her job great and always has a smile and very friendly. Its a shame she is always the one stuck doing all the work while the others stand around or move boxes to look busy while 20 ppl are waiting. I could make this so much longer but Ive said my story and think Ive made my point. Do not use this post office if you actually want the services you paid for, because this is not the 1st time this has happened, but for me it was the last.

UPDATE: Dont sign up for their “Informed Delivery” cus its a damn waste of time. Youll get pictures of your mail thats supposed to come that day but then it wont arrive til 2-3 days later. Before I moved back here, I received a certain piece of mail on the SAME DAY EVERY WEEK because it was sent out the SAME DAY EVERY WEEK. For example: It was mailed from my company on Friday, Id receive it on Tuesday. Since moving back here (Side note: Its still the same county so its not like I moved super far away) I MIGHT get it on Tuesday IF Im lucky, but more often than not itll be Thursday or Friday or Saturday or Monday (Who cares right? Be prepared to wait a minimum of 25 mins or more before a customer service representatives get to you. Usually when a store says it opens at 9 am, it opens a few mins before 9 so they can get the computers boot up and open up the register. Well not USPS, they usually open the door 10-15 mins after 9 and then boot up their computers and open the registers so be prepared to wait about 25 mins.

I put in a address transfer to begin feb 1. It is jan 16 and I have not been getting my mail for two weeks. I have called more than 3 times asking where my mail is and my package that was to be delivered thursday of last week. Mail delivery is getting so bad most of the time it is after 7 pm. before its delivered then a lot of the times its your neighbor mail mixed in . Also packages are said to be delivered but not there then a week later you get a final notice when you never got a first notice of attempted delivery. Very disappointed in the postal worker who delivered the mail on 11/15/2016, on Dunwich Way. The flag was up on our mail box indicating that there was mail to be picked up, the mail carrier placed mail in the box but didnt take the 2 envelopes that were in there for pickup.
