Have never had a problem and front desk guy always cool to me

The one who works there was good. But what he said about fuel pointer was a lie. It wasnt even full tank but he said its full. I literally gave $25 to Budge as an extra cost.

They dont answer their calls, forcing callers to talk to the corporate office. Corporates voicemail says you can request a change to your reservation, which isnt true. Local office has very short office hours on the weekend and no drop box. This forces a return trip the next day. Corporate employees are very nasty. Rent somewhere else. Cheaper prices are not worth the hassle!

I would give it 0 zero stars if I could. We returned a moving truck to this location almost 2 months ago and still havent received our deposit back.

When I picked up the truck, the Budget office told me that dropping it off after hours would be no problem. Then I find out from 800 number, after hours, that there isnt an after hours drop at the Escondida location, but I can drop it at the Santee location. I didnt have a choice as the Escondida location didnt open until I was already supposed to board my flight home. Since I had the truck less than 12 hours on a 3 day rental, the agent at the 800 number didnt think I would be charged a transfer fee. Wrong!!! I had the truck less than 12 hours, dropped it off 2 days early, and got hit with $100 transfer fee. I will never ever rent from Budget again...car or truck. This is the last time these scammers get my business and my money. I hope the $100 was worth it.

The guy behind.the counter was a total jerk and completely unprofessional. When my girlfriend asked him what his name was, he thought about it for a few seconds and gave us a fake name. Then refused to rent us a car from an online reservation we made.

Truck interior was extremely dirty

They canceled my reservation the day of, and suggested I put myself in a waitlist that could be up to three days. They said there were no trucks in all of San Diego. The guy in the phone was non challant and said that he was mad too because he wasnt getting his commission.

I wouldnt recommend this place for Truck rentals. Its hard to tell if it is just this site and the drop-off site, or Budget in general. The information is inaccurate at minimum, and maybe intentionally incorrect. Only needed a 10truck, but 12 is their smallest. Made reservation with this site because they had the 12, only they didnt. They upsold what a benefit the extra room and ramp was and tried to convince us that they gas mileage would be the same ... NOT. First 130 miles was subjected to an unwanted heating do to a poor mounting of the internal Engine cover. Stopped to get gas and fixed it myself. Checked oil while getting gas and it was BELOW the acceptable range. - in 130 miles ! Filled it to 1/3 of the way in the proper range. It never moved over the next 800 miles. How do you send a Truck out that hasnt been serviced ? The clerk asked about insurance and I said no, my insurance carrier cover s it. He asked which one and said they dont cover moving truck rentals. My mistake was to believe him and add the insurance. Guess what - WRONG ! Insurance covers up to 10,000 lbs. GVW. The upsold (forced) 16 truck is 11,500 lbs GVW, the 12 truck 8,600# GVW - would not need the $130 insurance. Hmmm. Based on rating from the Budget web site, the 16 cost me %60 more in gas as well. That $190 would have covered the difference between the seeming low cost of Budget, and a more appropriate Truck with a LOT LESS HASSLE. The return was also handled in a way to exclude me from contesting the charges, but that is saved for a review at the SLC, Utah site. I gave it 2 stars as the Truck did what it was supposed to DESPITE the poor state we received it in. CANNOT RECOMMEND BUDGET !

Great location. The management is top notch !
