My organization supplied material for machining. We received a hard quote in advance and then were requested to pay more as they had misquoted. In addition they requested that we pay in full prior to shipment. The material was packaged insufficiently and critical sealing surfaces were compromised. We cannot take the risk of returning for rework as the monetary loss and damage to our delivery is compromised. They have performed well on less critical parts in the past but this was an expensive lesson.
