Poor customer service and theyll rip you off. The bottom portion of my rear window on my soft-top convertible was coming unglued. I could see that it had been attached with an adhesive and figured this was something that could be easily fixed. I went to Tops Unlimited to find out what kind of adhesive was best. We purchased a brand new SUV from an Erie dealer. We had worked it out with the dealer to have after-market leather installed in all 3 rows of our new SUV. The dealer has been using Tops Unlimited to do most of their after-market installs. We had heard from previous Tops customers that the owner likes to put Badges on the cars he works on. Sometimes drilling holes in the doors so that he can put his companys name on your car. We called to ask that he not to this to our vehicle. After some grumbling about it voiding the warranty if the badge wasnt installed (wouldnt the VIN work for the warranty???) he agreed to not put anything additional on our car.When we went to Tops to pick our the color of leather the owner told us that we could choose a different color stitching than the leather to make it more personal. He talked this option up and noted that this could be done at no extra charge (Great!). We opted for a light leather and a darker stitch.We went to pick up or vehicle from the dealer after Tops had it for 4 days and were very disappointed. Our biggest upset initially was that they had used 2 different colors of thread on all of the seats. Some of the stitching was the darker color we had chosen; the other stitches were a light color that matched the leather. The dealer made a call the Tops to find out why this had been done. The owner told the dealer that it came from the supplier that way and thats how it is supposed to be. Needless to say the owner of Tops never mentioned that the seats would have two different colors of thread in them.Upon further inspection of the vehicle we found 10+ places where the hard plastic interior of the car had been scratched and a stress mark on the kick plate of the front passenger seat. Most of the scratches are very noticeable and the stress mark is extremely obvious. There is also a scratch on the metal door jam in the back seat and a tear in the leather on the door by the handle.The dealer was very unhappy with the work that was done on our car but was very quick to make things right with us. I will never, EVER go to Tops Unlimited and will definitely be letting everyone know about the damage he did to our brand new vehicle!

First tops unlimited has thousands of satisfied customers restyling cars & trucks since 1975 .we cannot fix a problem if we do not know their is one ! jen mc closkey never registered Any complaint with us. the dealer was offered a complete replacement leather interior to rectify the stitch issue even though the customer was shown a sample seat that was stitched exactly as hers arrived however the customer opted for a FREE remote start instead of a correction of the stitching issue, the dealer never mentioned any thing about marks on trim items or any scratch issue.there were no marks or scratches or tears when her vehicle left our shop. if we are aware of a problem its easy to repair .. as to the GRAND AM with the sunroof motor issue most of those cars that have that problem can be repaired for about $25 youre loss... the customer with the taurus had a boling ball size dent in the roof and a really bad headliner that he wanted to cover up with a sunroof it didnt quite remove all the damage but it did remove most he was quoted $399 plus tax yes thats over $400. he called about some concerns and demanded to have to have them looked at on a sunday, we do not work on sundays he demanded a full refund or he said he would post a really bad report on the net we refused to refund any of his money as the damage was pre existing,and he refused to bring the car back to have it looked at,.. thousands of customers 38+ years of experience.(est 1975) 3 unhappy people i am truly sorry we cannot please 100%of our customers WE DO TRY i guess we will have to settle for 99.999% of satisfied customers we will always address any concerns any customer MAKES US AWARE OF if i dont know about it i cant fix it..my my crystal ball & my magic wand are still on back order.. thanks Rich Hamm owner tops unlimited Erie Pa.
