I just called to make an appointment with Als for the first time because Ive been having some trouble with my car. I have only had a phone call so far, but compared to nearly every other auto shop who answers the phone like youre interrupting their day, Als customer service was leaps and bounds better. Will update review after appointment but im sure it will only get better.Edit: everything went great and Al is a very personable and honest guy. Always get a second opinion on an issue youre having, but once you confirm your diagnosis get your work done here. Fair prices and decent work.

Great service. Was able to walk in on New Years Eve and get my car inspected in 25 minutes! The clerk estimated 1 hour, but as my car is new, it only took 25 minutes. Cost $73.62 for the inspection. Waiting room is decently clean for a car shop. They did get some dirt on the interior of my car. I only bring it up/noticed this because my car is new. Im just glad it was dirt and not grease. It came out with a Lysol wipe. Overall, I would recommend this shop. I was very glad to be able to get my inspection done immediately, especially as it was New Years Eve when other shops were closed.

These guys are great! Theyre pretty down to earth and they actually car for your car like you would. They like things done right, the way they should. And theyre not about to let a car slide by.....so if youre just looking for a sticker dont bother with them. However if you want a car thats undoubtedly safe give em a call! I just called today at 11am for an inspection, and they had me in by noon.

I recently moved to Erie four months ago and didnt know what to do when the snow caused me issues driving my car. I called around to ask for pricing and suggestions and Al offered the same services for more reasonable prices compared to the other service providers in Erie. He was super flexible and after I arrived literally had the job done in about 25 minutes. His workers were amazing! Seriously, great job to Al and all of you guys that worked on my car!! A+++

Here is my honest, in depth review of Als Auto. Ive been going to to Als for years. I drive clear across from the airport to take my car there, and heres why:Al only asks that work which really needs to be done is done to pass inspection, and his prices are some of the best around.About a couple years ago, he told me I needed to replace my break pads to pass inspection. I went somewhere else to get a second opinion. They also noticed the break pads needed to be replaced, and they tried to say my engine mount had to be replaced too, because it was leaking oil. They showed me where it supposedly leaked the oil on their shop floor. I keep my car in my garage, and I havent had a drop on the floor before or after going to that place. So, right back to Als I went.Ive taken my car to him before and passed inspection without any work needing to be done. Thats always a relief. And another thing: Als has never charged me anything to take a look a car. The other place I went to, that was adding bogus work, charged $20 just to look at the car.I usually do my own work, but his quotes are fair. When I say fair, I mean better than what some other places consider fair. After getting a free quote from Als, call around and see for yourself.Now, there was one thing I want to mention, since I want to give an honest review. My moms car was making a noise, so I took it to Als to get it diagnosed since I wasnt sure where it was coming from. Al thought the alternator probably needed to be replaced. He said its nothing that needed to be done right away, because the alternator could still last for a year or more.I went ahead and replaced it myself to get rid of the noise. The noise was still there. Turns out I had to replace the belt tensioner pulley to get rid of the noise, which is cheaper. So, I did and the noise was gone.Usually, places will not give a refund on electrical parts, like an alternator, if they have been installed. Fortunately, the alternator, I got from Community Auto Recycling was bad, because it caused my battery light to come on. Shout outs to Community Auto Recycling too! Not only did they give me a full refund, but theyre the ones who suggested that the belt tensioner could be the problem.Sometimes, it can be hard to diagnose exactly where the noise is coming from under the hood. It was an honest mistake, because an alternator on its way out is a common cause of the noise that was being made. So, sometimes, you may want to take your car to more than one place to diagnose certain problems. Then take it to Als to have the work done. If you cant do the work yourself, and dont have someone you know who will do it for the low, Als is the next best thing.

Was looking for a private shop and this one came up first. I read through the reviews and all of them were positive. Called on a Wednesday, and I got in on Saturday for an inspection. Someone was ahead of me so I made small talk asking him about the service and they informed me that theyve been coming here for about a year and they have been excellent and work with you very well. Took about 45min to an HR for the inspection. 1.5 hrs less than when I took my car to a dealership. I was very impressed with the service and how kind everyone was. Would recommend to friends and family.

My daughter just relocated to Erie and called me when her brakes failed in her car. I was concerned someone would intimidate her into agreeing to a bunch of unnecessary work.After researching on the web and reading the reviews, we had it towed to Als. They were very fair. They replaced the burst brake hose, recommended we replace both sides and also pointed out some work that should be addressed, but did not need to be done right now. They did only the necessary work at a fair price. You cant ask for much more than that. I would not hesitate to return.

I would like to say Als Auto is truly a diamond here in Erie, Pa! Truly a honest, hardworking and fair shop! I had Al shop do my inspection and work on my car last year, they let me know I would need to have my muffler replaced on my next inspection. I had gone to Monro to have a routine oil change done and they did a pre-inspection on my vehicle as a courtesy. Well what a courtesy it was when they came back to tell me I would need $1100 of work done on my car to pass. I was floored, now mind you I was in NO way going to get my car work and inspection done there as I had already planned to bring my car back to Als again to bring the business to them. However I went to Als and they did my inspection as promised all that my car needed was a muffler and everything said and done $336! Now thats what you call a real honest business! Im a hardworking 3 job working individual and unlike Monro who feels that going overboard on hardworking people is ok...?! I am thankful to Als Shop for their honesty and amazing service!!! Thank-you so much!!!
