Southers Construction is as professional as it gets. Michael gave us a great presentation and explained how the process would work from start to finish. Once the work started, we were assigned Tyler as the project manager, and he was great to work with. He answered the phone every time; no phone tag or miscommunication at all. The quote was accurate; they replaced only what needed to be replaced for the barn board, which ended up being free in that 2 panels are already included in the price. The roof and gutters came out awesome, and I trust their 50 year/2 owner warranty based on how they run their business. I would absolutely recommend Southers to anyone in the Dover/Seacoast area looking to replace their roof for good! (The picture doesnt do the work done justice; Colonial Slate is a great color)

Horrible experience using Southerns. After having issues with other companies we choose Southerns because they promised us communication, upfront honesty and great value. We received none of this, even though we paid much more than what others quoted us.We were told 6 weeks max to start the job. We didnt hear anything from them for 6. We finally started calling and calling and calling. Finally got a response from their location in Maine. Then they went silent again.We finally got the project done. A job that took about 6 hours, but was spread over the course of two weeks.They are not worth the extra money you have to pay.

We met with Southers and received an estimate that included the type of material, the process and the time it would take for the replacement of our roof, we have lived here for 26 years and the roof we had installed when we bought our home was not installed properly. It was important to us to know that the new roof would be done correctly with the best material and that the work would be guaranteed. Southers construction was the easy choice. BEWARE: We gave Southers a deposit in July. Three no shows. Broken promises. Poor communication. Never did the repair. Office said no staff to do repairs. Requested a refund. Twelve weeks later, finally we are done with this company.

So, when speaking with the sales rep, my wife and I both told him that we didn’t want a plain metal roof. Either he didn’t hear what we were saying, or didn’t understand, that we wanted to keep our roof looking pretty much the same as the rest of the neighborhood.They installed a plain metal roof.There are some great people working for this company, but I would caution any prospective customers to get photos of what the end product will look like, so as to remove any confusion of what the final project will look like.

The Portland Branch did an amazing job handling my project and the communication was impressive from start to finish. They replaced my roof and siding in a timely manner. I have now had two new roofs put on by Southern Construction and I highly recommend them. They are very professional, do the work on time and clean up very well. Their pricing is very fair and for the second new roof I did not even bother to get a second estimate. I had wind damage on one section of the roof and they came that day to waterproof the damaged area. I was very impressed that they had three ladies on their work crew.

Extensive repairs to the trim on the exterior of our home and installation of shakes on our dormers was completed quickly and efficiently and professionally. Communication and excellent workmanship was the key to a job well done !

I used Southers for siding and windows installed.I had to have some rework done it happens with most jobs on houses.So they sent out a worker named Justin he was good and I mean good he took care for all my needs and he would do what it takes to do the job right.Justin stay late to finish the job.I talk to Ricky and ask to have Justin to do the rest of the job I wish I had him from the start.So with that said I had a great job and we love the house it looks great.So thank youJustin And Ricky.

Awesome, entire team was amazing from start to finish. They are organized, punctual, professional. From the time Rodrigo the salesman came to give us an estimate to the time the entire project was completed was less then 10 days. They arrived when they said they would, did an amazing job and made sure everything was cleaned up after. Chris our project manager kept us up to date on everything. Very happy would definitely recommend.

Absolutely the most unprofessional company I’ve ever experienced. We were told it was going to be a one week job to install new vinyl siding on our house and it took them almost a month to complete it. On top of that, it hasn’t even been 3 months and a piece has already fallen off! My wife and I have been trying to get an answer from them to get it fixed for over 3 days and we haven’t gotten a single call back, and while the job was being worked on, we found never predict when people would actually show up to work. It’s stunning how poorly the communication has been and their quality of work they claim isn’t up to par. Totally dissatisfied and completely frustrated with them.

This is the worst company. Do not hire from them! They were supposed to replace a roof and do construction of a new deck. The roof install took four months to complete, with a severe lack of communication, and unprofessionalism. Never knew when they were going to come and work on the roof, I also have two dogs and a teenager, and all of a sudden as I’m at work they were at my house tearing up the roof. They broke my front porch light and my back porch gutters. And after they completed, they had to come back and redo it because my roof was leaking!I paid for the roof and deck installs over a year ago, and still they haven’t even started on my deck. The communication has been horrible, they only call when I’m not available, and when I’ve told them I am available and I try to call, there’s no answer. It’s taken them over a year just to give me a receipt. They dropped off a lot of lumber and tools in my driveway when I was away for a few days, and told them I’d be away. It’s blocking parts of my driveway so now I can’t fully pull into it. They dumped the lumber on my front lawn, and it’s been over a month that it’s been there. The grass is dying.I get told by them today that if I want the deck finished I’ll have to pay close to $7000! Even though I have already paid. Do Not Hire This Company! It will take them months to a year with lots of excuses and no communication and will waste your time and money!!

Southers Construction was amazing to deal with on getting a new roof. Initially called them because we had some shingles blow off our roof in a wind storm, but upon inspection, it was determined that a new roof was really what was needed. The Southers team was incredibly responsive, and helpful the whole way, and got the job done quickly and efficiently. 1 week from the first call, we had our new roof installed! Everyone I dealt with was amazing (but special shout out to Raf who communicated every step of the way!). The company also does so much for the community, so its nice to do business with a company that has great values, and is not in it just to make money and walk away. I will definitely use them again for any future projects.

Hired them last summer to re-shingle the roof, and repair the deck. After months of deliberating, lack of communication, and delay after delay, they barely managed to get the roof done before winter. That alone would not bother me, if it werent for the fact that a year and some change later, the deck still isnt done. A whole year of attempting to communicate and receiving nothing from them for months at a time and empty promises my deck still remains an unusable mess. Eventually got them to come by (after dozens of emails and phone calls) to do the job they were contracted and paid for over a year ago (that they originally said would be done in two weeks). They dropped off their stuff all over my lawn and drive way almost a month ago and I havent seen them since.Two stars since they did a decent job of the roof once they actually got around to it.Not worth the hassle though, definitely better roofers/construction businesses in the area that actually care about their customers and will do their job in a timely manner and not try to scam their customers out of more money part way through the job.

I had Southers pt on a new roof about two and couldn’t be happier.. we live by the ocean and have had some driving rain recently which caused rain to come in through the roof vent.I contacted Southers for help and they dispatched Justin and Keegan. They were so helpful and knew what they were doing. For such young guys they had a very professional air about them.They resolved my problem snd did it all with a smile. I have been a construction contractor for nearly fifty years. I’m retired now and can’t go hopping around on roofs so I called Southers for an inspection. And estimate to repair and re shingle approximately 4000 square feet of really bad roof as well as take three unused chimneys down below the roof line. Their crew came, eight of them and just never stopped moving. They completely stripped the old shingles, installed new plywood over lot of rotted boards and then completely covered that with ice and water shield insuring that water would never leak through again. They too 2 and a half days to complete the project and when they were done my yard was spotless. I cannot say enough about the experience and will gladly recommend them if you need work done

Southers Construction replaced the cedar siding on one side of my home, the south side (gets all the sun). The original 32 year side was way beyond repair. Jade gave me recommendations and a quote. Ron and his crew did a bang up job of replacing it. All joints are straight and true. It took two weeks. Last Monday it was stripped and Typar added, then it rained the rest of the week. This Monday through Wednesday completed. If I have any complaints it is not with Southers but with Mother Nature. Excellent work Southers!

You can tell this company really cares about their customers, from the workers to the customer service, the sales rep and project managers. We had Nick as our Project manager, he was always checking in whether he came by or through the phone which was much appreciated. We absolutely love how the vinyl came out, they even hid the seams the best they could so it looks smooth. There was an unforseen hiccup that was no ones fault but even still, they took care of it no problem no questions. I highly recommend Southers and Nick! Thank You all so much!

Hi, my name is Ravi.I called southers Construction to do a small siding repair. I think we had one of those bad wind storms and the previous roofer had trouble attaching the siding back properly. It was a small section. Maybe 4ft x 4ft.The work was meticulous, and Tyler, the installer worked with me to find a solution. He asked if i had siding that matched, if i didnt get could get some. It was sooooo windy thay day and he still was trying to get my siding fixed. Unfortunately because the place the siding came off was on the top of an eve..and there was virtually no space to walk safely he offered to go all the way back, get a hook ladder and meticulously repaired my siding to it wouldnt blow off again.Wow. What a great company. Tyler is alot of fun, he is open to trying anything you might suggest.Yes the price estimate was a tad higher than i expected...but the owner Ricky watches things carefully and if he thinks it needs a tweak, hes nice enough to accommodate.But overall, it was worth the price. Yes i could have spent less ,but i probably would have had a headache with another company. Its just not worth taking chances with your house. Pay once...forget. And you can even use the price of the repair for a new siding project.Great job Tyler! At southers construction

Very satisfied customer! Eric and Niko did a beautiful job replacing our front porch and adding a roof. They worked long days in 90+ degree weather all week. It was heartwarming to watch and listen to them training their apprentice, with patience and respect. We would definitely recommend Southers and would hire them again!

Ricky and the rest of the crew from Southers Construction replaced a portion of my roof and helped me on many occasions with snow removal. They do very good work and are particular about cleaning up when the job is done, but I was even more impressed by their honesty and integrity in their dealings. Multiple times, Ricky talked me out of doing a job for a less expensive option because it made more sense. Only great things to say about this company!

Trust is very important to me. You call some folks and they dont bother to call back or say they will come and then never show up. I have to say I looked up Southers Construction on Home Advisor. I was expecting more of the same. Phil called me the next day after I asked for a quote. We setup a time to go over the work, and he was patient and knowledgeable. There materials he suggested are top notch.The young men that came and did the work were polite and courteous. They took pride in doing a good job. I was just ecstatic after they completed my roof. We had the roof done in the fall Im little late on the review but it has held up to the winter although mild I have no fears that we will have a problem in the future. Southers Construction replaced out our windows, replaced the siding on our house, and replaced the roof on the addition to our house as well as the roof on the barn. It was a big project, and it came out very well. I would say their crew is very professional and courteous. Phil, Ricky, and Steve are all focused on making sure things are done right. I saw Steve take apart someone elses work from a previous day and re-do it himself because he wasnt satisfied with the quality of it, that impressed me. After the project was finished, we had some serious rain come through and there was one small leak remaining in the addition (the roof had leaked previously in several spots). Ricky came back, found the problem (it was well outside the scope of the work they had done) and fixed it at no cost. I would definitely recommend them.

The date of work was a little later than originally estimated, but the project came in under budget, it was done with high quality, and Mr. Southers was a pleasure to work with.

Needed a small repair done on my roof. Ricky came out and did the job the same day. He was professional and prompt.

They were prompt in sending out a rep. to evaluate my problem and in getting the issue resolved. I just wasnt happy with the way the roof shingles were left in a messy condition. I was told that it would wash off but this is now 7/31 and the job was done on 6/23. We have had multiple heavy rain storms and to no avail, the roof still looks like a large bag of dust was dropped on black shingles. Not very attractive.
