After a roadside breakdown, I called Stern and Bruns Garage to get a tow. After 4pm on a Friday afternoon, I only had 45 minutes to get my vehicle towed to Ford. The customer service on the phone was phenomenal, and she dispatched a tow truck while I was still on the line. I was able to pay with my card over the phone, and the driver was roadside and had my truck loaded in less than 20 minutes after I called. Fast, professional, excellent customer service and value. I hope I never need a tow truck again, but it’s great to know we have a quality local company to turn to when you need it.

Weve been needing some repairs and oil change for awhile. Id visited one of those national chain shops and was treated so rude. Im so glad I went with Stern& Bruns! They are so friendly, honest and helpful. I really trust them. They are incredibly busy but still treat you like the only customer and with care, full explanations and details of your vehicles issues. And even though they are busy and cars are constantly pulling in for this or that, they still complete work in a timely manner! Were customers for life now and recommend them to everyone!

Never been there before, but they did a great complete front brakes job on our pickup at a reasonable price. Dropped it off at 2:00 & picked it up at 4:00.

Needed a tow they were on it right there

Had my car towed here as it was a AAA certified garage. Front end was shaking pretty badly while driving. Was expecting to hear the worst. Got a call explaining my tires were bad and I needed new ones. Rob gave me three different options for tires. I chose the ones with a road hazard warranty. Tires were a great price and the labor was extremely reasonable. This garage saved my day and did some great work! Thanks for your professionalism and honesty and being so communicative!

Our 21 year old daughter totaled her car and they towed her car to their lot. 2 days later her 85 year old grandfather was hospitalized for COVID and is currently fighting for his life. The family went to Wisconsin to spend time with Grandpa. In the mean time no one from this organization ever told us we had to pay $26 a day for storage. To our surprise we have to pay $450 now to get the car. Very unprofessional and not forthcoming.

Had a blowout a few days ago on 776 Port Charlotte.Just managed to limp into a small computer business lot a few yards ahead.Called AAA and happily the tow came much sooner than AAA said.The tow driver David was very courteous and helpful Going above and beyond the call of duty ,since( battery died) he also helped me push it back into a tow-able spot .All the while the business owner would come out shouting that he was calling the cops,he was losing business, we had one minute or else ,etc.,etc. I felt bad for the driver ...who kept his cool. It took in all ,maybe 10-15 minutes to hook up and pull out of his lot. But his screaming while we were sweating ,in a hot sun, made it seem much longer......

Had a simple but urgent fix for a bus. Three other shops, couldnt do it. They found the root cause and sent us on our way quickly

RIP OFF!!!!Not very good with my car. I took my car there to get diagnosed for a bad noise out of my tire well. I explained it couldnt be the brakes. They were just replaced. The insisted it was without even digging deeper to investigate. The wanted over $500 to fix... I got a second opinion, turns out it was simply my axle that was bent. I got my car fixed for right under $100. It had nothing to do with the brakes. DONT GO HERE!!

Had a bad accident in my car with my son. They were very honest people work here! Had money in car and was still there afterwards! Awesome service and easy going!

We were waiting over 2 hours for them to tow our car after a blow out on a major thoroughfare and they never showed. When AAA finally got hold of them, they were told they didnt see the vehicle so they went to another tow. The car was on the side of the road and three sheriffs were able to stop and check that everything was okay and arrangements were made to remove the vehicle. They never called or texted even though AAA had given them our cell phone number and we had 4 bars. Absolutely no excuse!!!!!!!

Place is easy to access on 776. Quick in and out. Had a acrew in our tire. Didnt have an appointment. Jim fixed it for us and we were on our ways

Our truck died near our house in Englewood. We called Triple A who called Sterns to tow the vehicle. When they did not show up, we called Triple A back who then called Sterns back. The driver said he wasnt going to get the car. He never called us or Triple A. Never told them why, just said he wasnt going to tow it. After Thanksgiving Im going to call them and tell them off and file a formal complaint to Triple A.So I called these people today and wss told they dont have to honor a call THEY ACCEPTED and they dont have to call back the customer or Triple A. Its ok to leave us hanging for hours until we had to call triple a and find out what happened. This company sucks and could have had the decency as a neighborhood company to at least PRETEND to be professional. Gave filed complaint with Triple A and am now heading to BBB.

I put a star there because Im forced to do that. Other than that the star should be taken away. The owners of the store should just close it walk away. You are a bunch of Thieves you rip off the bigger companies and Ive done tires longer than some of your boys been alive and you keep ripping off these companies when theres nothing wrong with their tires. Your tire store is a dump the storefront to dump the bathrooms a dump the whole place that dont rip off the American people you should be put out of business. THE MANAGERS AND MECHANICS CAREFULLY LOOKED OVER OUR VEHICLE, MADE A PROPER DIAGNOSIS AND OUR VEHICLE IS RUNNING THE BEST IT EVER HAS. THE SHOP IS VERY NEAT AND ORDERLY AS WELL. THEIR PRICES ARE FAIR AND ITS QUALITY WORK, AND THEY STAND BEHIND IT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS ANY WORK, TIRES, OR EMERGENCY TOWING.

The guys at Sterns and Bruns are very honest and trust worthy with competitive prices. I had my car towed there because my char was making machine gun noises. I had no idea what was wrong with the car. They could have sold me a story about my engine being bad, but they were truthful and told me it was my radio. They charged me $50 for the time they spent to find the issue. I also take my car here for oil changes, and for full synthetic it runs about $50, I was paying over $100 in Tampa and Orlando.I also recently took my car in because the check engine light came on, and again they could have taken advantage of me being a female with no understanding of cars, but they didnt. I had a minor issue which they fixed and it cost me less than $100.I will recommend them to everyone I know that needs car repair.

Thieves.My family member was in a car accident and the police called Stern & Bruns to remove the vehicle.My family member, the driver, was not even consulted by the tow truck driver, did not enter into a service contract, and Stern & Bruns stole his vehicle and impounded it. We had AAA coverage and could have had the car towed on our own, but no one consulted my young family member.When we called to inquire on the status of the car, they then provided no information about their service contract, a woman simply said that we would have to make an appointment to retrieve personal belongings.Now 3 weeks later they are filing a lien against my family member because apparently these thugs want their money in 10 days. A predatory business intent on stealing from those who have been in a car accident, its obvious that this is their business model.

Seem to be a fair place as far as price. My car was in an accident and they were able to fix it in a very timely fashion. The owner of Rob was very obliging.

Bought 2 new tires in Va.for motorhome.By time I drove it here a vibration had developed.They were balancing the tires and discovered thread separation on new tire.Rob took it upon himself to get tire replaced,after I had tried through Falken Tire co.End result was both tires were replaced under warranty.Without Rob’s assistance I believe the cost would have been mine.

Not cheep but good service professional people

Tow truck driver picked up my truck from the rear tires (tires less than a year old) driver had a hard time getting the rear driver side tire to cooperate when loading. Walked out to go to work the next morning from where he left the truck and the rear driver side tire flat as a pancake. Called and talked to Rob and got no where. There was no way they could have done that he says, I must have ran over a nail. There is no nail in the tire nor is it punctured anywhere, it simply is off its bead from the rim from where the driver hooked it up. After going back and forth with Rob he says to me in annoyance, Fine Ill send someone over there to put on your spare and Im going to take your flat tire back to the shop with me and if I find any nail or previous leaks Im charging you for the service call to come out and the tire I simply told him to forget it. he could say anything after he had my tire and stick me with a bill, no thank you. I wont be using them any longer.

I had a boat trailer axle come off after I hit a curb. my insurance company called sterns. They sent out a very very unappealing man out to my accident. There was absolutely no damage to the boat. He loaded the boat and the trailer on to the wrecker. Keep in mind I had tandem axles. He must have loaded it wrong because he started to unload it and as he did the boat was about to hit the road. The officer with me yelled for him to stop and he did and said Is the boat about to hit the pavement? we replied Yes, it is touching the pavement. At this point he lets it down another foot, damaging the fiber glass on the bottom stern of the boat. This causes me to be very upset. He then reloaded the boat on the wrecker, I then said goodbye to the officer and followed the wrecker to the Gulf Coast Trailers. By the time I returned home, Sterns was closed, so I called the next morning to assure they were aware of the incident; the Stern employee I had spoken with was not aware of the situation so I proceeded to forward pictures of the boats damages to the employee, in addition to the $300 estimate for the repairs. The employee was made aware that myself and a witnessing officer were present when the damage was done. The driver had claimed the boat damages were there prior to his arrival, however, I am currently getting a statement from the present officer testifying that the damages were created by the Sterns employee and he has neglected to accept responsibility. The manager came across very unprofessional as he suggested that a customer is liable for any damages to the customers property, even if at the fault of a Sterns employee, and regardless of the testimony of the witnessing police officer.-Bob Carmean

Took my 97 Toyota Tacoma there for check engine light on they checked it charged me 69$ told me the Oxygen Sensor bad would cost me $338.00 total print out to put one on said part cost around $200.00,I bough one Bosch for $90 put it on not the problem,You decide ,,had it checked at another shop for free stated ECM going bad,

Took me in and no charges for what i needed

I was coming down 776 about 2 blocks from Sterns when my oil pressure dropped to 0 and started the loud clapping! Thankfully I was able to get to the 1st auto shop I saw which was Sterns. I was sure it was the oil pump and i was going to have big problems. I left the truck there and rented a car as I was told it was going to be a day or two because it was Friday afternoon. Thank God 2 hours later I got a call & it was a faulty oil filter, a $24 fix. They could of lied & got me good, which I was sure I was looking at hefty repair. Sterns proves there are still good ppl in this world!

WORSE EXPIRENCE.. Had my car towed here because it had stalled. Told me it was the battery charges 100+ for a battery. Pick up car within a day I am broken down on the side of the road. Then I am charged 400+ for a new alternator they claim I need ( why did they not tell me this before???) Within a week my car is not only broken down but worse than before with constant shaking. Come to find out they did not mount the alternator correctly!! Over 600 dollars down and worse than I was before I went here. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING HERE...

The tow xriver showed up parked across street came across said it is bad atea to get truck into was wortied about driveway breaking and said then fluids would leak oyt of car finally pulled across street got truck ready it eas to far from car starts car then said he had to get lifts oyt because car was to long in front and back then my friend ask what r u doing he said getting lifts friend takes a pic he said he felt threatened from that i wish i had videoed from beg. He ldeciedex to leave refused service had no problem driving down sidewalk . I called triple a back ask for another company horrible attitude never calling again had problems with the tow service before. He also said to mu friend there was another driver but he was old like him so rude

Lied to us about only one truck being available to tow, and its broken down. Drive past their shop near beach liquors to see an entire fleet of trucks just sitting there. They just simply did not want to drive out to Boca Grande where the vehicle needing to be towed is located. I find it incredible these people didnt want to make some good money today, and choose instead to lie to customers. I will make sure to warn all of my fellow Englewood friends and family about the questionable and unhonest practices Sterns & Bruns conducts.

Promptly fixed my a/c leak within 10 minutes free of charge. Extremely friendly and accommodating, no wonder theyve been in business since 1969!!

Worst experience ever - tow truck driver sent by AAA, need to get to our shop less than 14 miles away to fix flat tire, tow truck driver tells my husband he has to make a few stops & it may be a few hours before he can get him there - on a Friday afternoon, we have only 1 car & this is just not acceptable business practice, putting a hardship on customers.
