They try hard to serve the community with food, clothing, case management, etc. I believe their heart is right. They just need to get better control of that food line and start enforcing their own guidelines when standing in that food line.

Have been on the streets for almost two months now all they help me with is a bus pass and a bag of food on occasion mostly rancid food until I put in a complaint. They have rescheduled my meeting with a case manager 1 week out Everytime for 3 weeks now and provided absolutely no support for getting off the streets. They claim they ran out of hotel vouchers because the homeless problem is actively getting worse due to lay offs from the COVID-19 Pandemic. When they get you into a low income house you end up being on a waiting list for multiple months. Still have zero access to the things the CRC said originally try to provide services . Meanwhile still living on the streets. 😤

Use to have fresh vegetables and boxes packed with care. Now it’s heard em in heard em out. I have family of 4 they only gave 1 small can of tuna. Bread was moldy. Vegetables were brused and had cuts. Vegetables lasted only 1 day. The pkg of green beans had white mold and were squished, What happened CRC?

Dont know what I would have done without this place. My caseworker Chad is the best in the business. I dont even know what to say he has changed my life and for the better I would be living on the streets if it werent for him. I can honestly say that I love the guy. And everyone else that either works there or volunteers there are fantastic and caring people that spend their days helping change the lives of others in need. God bless you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart !!!!!! Michael Cartwright

This organization makes things happen unlike the many other organizations that are referral services. This group cares about your life and provides hands on services to change your life for the better. The Staff always has a smile and provides acceptance. I always leave with a new direction and the best gift of all hope.

Volunteers here provide a large number of resources for community members in need and do excellent work. Once we have a universal basic income and universal healthcare this work should be less necessary but no less important.

CRC accepts donations and provides case workers that can get you back on track- they issue supplemental food vouchers - help you get into housing if you are living on the streets, and help you find work. They are staffed by volunteers but have professional staff well versed in navigating the local network of support services- they provide monthly no questions asked food and more often if you are on SSI- If you are trying to figure out the best place to donate money of food, this is an excellent choice as they have done the work for you, and they support thousands of people in North County, and know where to turn even with the most difficult cases. Also they provide tax preparation assistance and help getting public transportation assistance

I stayed at the emergency shelter and was put out with no place to go with a 13 and 2 year old girls on my exact exit date. It doesnt matter that i did my chores and other people chores, attended classes, case management, looked for housing, or that my 13 year old was depressed and even told others she was suicidal. When our exit date came we were refused an extension. Then i was later told by someone that didnt fully participate in what they say was required there that he was given a 7 day extension. The director who runs this place is very selective on who she gives an extension to and i dont think its anything i couldve done extra she just didnt like me. If she made her decisions on what people do in the program and not her personal feelings about them i dont think i wouldve been put out like that. They didnt care about how staying at a train station with a 13 year old would affect her. They just flat out didnt care. My case manager never mentioned anything about why i didnt get an extension to me. She ultimately didnt care.she was all about and had a i dont make the rules attitude. My case manager say they make trauma informed decisions there but i highly doubt if that was considered when my extension was denied. Those people are heartless and not completely truthful when it all is said and done.7/23/19we only had a 2 week wait because of background checks to find out if we got into the transitional housing program.my case manager said i would have to already have a yes to get an extension.the same person i discussed above that got a 7 day extension i talked to again.he told me he was allowed to stay at crc shelter until his name came up to the top of the list at a transitional housing program.he was given more than a month extension.he had 1 child age 3 i had a teen with mental health issues that the staff was aware of.we had to sleep at the train station on concrete benches that night because we had no where to go.the staff knew that.shelters are not exempt from federal fair housing laws.i didnt receive equal housing opprtunity from crc shelter staff.

No help from these people, I am in a horrible DV mess and all of the local dv shelters tell me it is a location concern and after talking to many community members seems like location is not an issue just their willingness to help.
