Update: 10/4- Some items still have a stench in them, it was that bad. Pretty much ruin some of my stuff. It has been two months of regular washing. You planning on doing laundry here, my first and only time doing laundry here. At least I know for a fact, one of the machines will make your clothes smell like someone actually, literally crapped in the machine. Thanks but no thanks, horrible experience. Wont utilize them again....Good luck to the rest of you. Wish I never spent my money here. Had to rewash everything at home. Had blankets and a couple loads of laundry needed done. So I thought Id do it all in one take, guess not. Not all in one machine at the same time. Wild that I have to explain that.

The best part of this place is the fact that other customers are friendly, seem content and will readily point a newbie in the right direction. That offsets the fact that considering the high cost, JCG embodies a pretty confusing system without any hired assistance on site for new customers coming in to do laundry, especially in terms of creating a card and learning the automated payment set-up. Saw at least one frustrated customer attempting to understand the card reader, and I was a bit puzzled as well. Feels overpriced; $6+ for the larger machines. No options for delicates, wash n wear, or different cycles; only temperature choices to select from for wash; dryers have warm settings as coolest, no air only option- so Im waiting to see if theres any shrinkage. Nice to see stainless steel machines which are very clean without mildew which often accumulates in many front loaders. WiFi works well. Openly spaced, very clean carts and surfaces, and right near other handy establishments, all of which are a plus.

Its a clean place...have to use a laundry card...nearly 3 dollars to wash..and drying goes by intervals...wifi is legit...machines are taken care of...other than being expensive af to do a load of clothes its good.

First World Inconvenience:Our dryer at home broke and the repair person was booked a week out, so headed over to JCG from Cardiff.THE GOOD: 1) Location is in a great little upscale strip mall that has lots of amenities while you’re there. 2) Cleanliness - Machines seemed tended to and counter areas wiped down. 3) Lots of machines 4) Coin-less process tied to loading a laundry card in an parking-lot-like payment machine that debits your bankcard. 5) Big machines that can handled comforters and the like.THE BAD: 1) Apathetic attendant, but truth be told this could be due to English language barrier? This said, would think that management would place an individual capable of interacting with a broad swath of folks. As she was of no assistance to figuring out the card system as a first-timer. Another friendly customer clued me in. 2) Felt that clothes only got OK clean, as the machines themselves only allow for short wash period and water temp is the only allowed variable. 3) Back to apathetic attendant! After being there for 3 hours, I needed to use the restroom, which was locked by a “Coin” meter. Again a “Coin” meter in a “Coin-less” laundry place! I totally get the owner wanting to keep the riffratt out of the restroom, but then make the stupid meter THE SAME as the laundry card concept!!!! I tried to explained to the attendant that I had no coins on me (again in the coin-less laundromat), but that I had spent the better part of 3 hours there and spent $30.00 doing laundry, so could she provide a token or unlock the restroom? No love, she just shrugged her shoulders and said I would have to talk to her boss, who was not on the premises and then walked away. Again, a def first world Inconvenience I get it, and I left feeling blessed that by next week our dryer will be fixed and I can resume my bliss/gratitude of having in-house laundry. So dear esteemed owner if you’re reading this, please convert your stupid coin-operated bathroom meter to the laundry card payment method, and/or empower your attendant(s) with some customer service skills and agency.

This is NOT a coin laundry. Can not pay cash, credit/debit only.Requires purchase of their card and a .50 additional charge.Biggest gripe is that the actual charges per wash or dry, or which machines charge how much are not readily available.Im only here for work, so I cant see purchasing a card, to have remaining funds on it, for somewhere ill never return to.Other than that, looked to be a well maintained, clean establishment.

The place is good although there is room for improvement in the facility restroom and sewer system. The attendants are very nice and very helpful. Thats why there is 4 stars. They make this average business better!

We were on vacation in Encinitas and needed to wash some laundry. We stopped in at Jolly Clean Giant and we were impressed right away with the cleanliness and well-maintained facility. While reading the instructions for loading a debit card style laundry card, we were approached by the manager who not only helped us but made us feel welcome and appreciated.

They tell you that you have to use a card that you pre-load at a machine similar to a change machine if you pre-load the card for $20 and you have $3 left over and I never going to go there again what are you going to do with the $3 you cant get the money back it just stays on a card and its dead. Also the change machine worked so I got change for a $20 bill but none of the machines took quarters so I had $20 in quarters and had to go to the bar next doorto get a 20 back but I couldnt I could only get a 10 back because I had so many quarters they should take the quarter machines out. I believe theres a little foolery in there to make a little money off those cards because like I said before if you use $17 but you loaded $20 on the card what are you going to do with the other $3 and you cant get it back unless of course you send it into the company which takes time and money and nobody does so its a rip-offfor the money that is loaded on the card that you dont use. Other than that its a good laundromat aside from their not being in attendance there to help you if you have questions like I did about the card and getting $20 in quarters when you cant even use them. Wont go back there. Encinitas has other laundromats.

Ive been using this laundry for years, my family has lived here for over 30. They now charge for a laundry card, then you can only pay by laundry card. If you lose the card you lose everything on it and have to buy another. Leading for you to load more than you need. Then when you leave you always have a balance left over. Its a sneaky business tactic and if you can take our cash then you can give us quarters and let us pay exactly what we need to pay. Ill go somewhere else for sure.

Feels safe, plenty coin change machines, plenty washer and dryers, management lady is sweet but i feel her duties are limited to dealing with clothing. Confronting customers doing things wrong isnt something she gets paid for she said. To me I still keep coming back, great place. Also next to a subway and grocery store. Keep in mind some dryers only run hot (even on low heat).

Did a decent job on the clothes. One dress was returned to me with bleach stains everywhere. I just called today and someone denied it. Im here on vacation and when I took the dress off the hanger today I noticed the entire bottom is bleached as if someone accidentally poured bleach on it ...Ill be coming in soon and filing an official complaint.I just want one be paid for my dress . Wasnt that expensive, just $50 but its the principle involved here.
