Fun, high intensity, and well taught. Crazy 88 MMA does a great job of encompassing all aspects of fighting from ground game, to leg knee and elbow strikes, to boxing fundamentals. Coach South Side provides some of the most intense boxing workouts bar none. They also provide partnered sparring at higher levels with an emphasis on getting better not just hitting someone. Last but not least it’s all inclusive family atmosphere where everyone is working hard and wanting you to get better. I love the grind and I love it here💪🏾👊🏾

I very much enjoy the classes, more specifically boxing. I have been here only one month, yet I feel like it’s been one year. Everyone is friendly and the coaches are amazing. Erika is very unprofessional, she is very condescending. They charged my account for the cancellation which was $600 and then fraudulently took the following month of $161 out. She thinks because she is manager that she can speak to whoever she wants. She’s the type that will disrespect people inside the building (because she is “protected”) but won’t do anything if she was in the grocery store alone. She clearly lets her being the “manager” get to her head. She needs to remember she is a manger at crazy 88... get a career girl.

I’ve been attending Crazy 88 for a while now and no complaints! This gym feels like family! The staff and coaches are very helpful and maintain the cleanliness of the gym! Erica at the front, is super cheerful and always answers any questions I have about my membership or classes! I’m always in a better mood when I leave!

I signed my 5 year old son up for classes last week, today is his 3rd class and he absolutely loves it here. He looks forward to coming to class, learning new things and making friends. I highly recommend for people to come and check this place out, either for yourself or your children.

My son actually wanted to quit after his first lesson because of how difficult it was. The coaches helped him understand that that was ok and, with practice, it would get better. Over a year later, he loves it and tries to go as often as possible.The coaches are great and their knowledge is abundant which shows when theyre instructing the younger students.

Erica from the elkridge location is unprofessional and was incapable of providing me with the membership information requested at hand. She was rude and does not know how to speak with customers. Coming from myself who work in a gym for 5 years as a manager and worked with memberships. I am disappointed in this company and whom them have chosen to keep as the face of the company, considering she answered the phone as I asked to speak with someone above her or a manager, she said she was. I continued to asked for a operations director and she also claimed to be that. I’m not sure how many titles one individual has at this facility, however her attitude was uncalled for she kept cutting me off. Lack of empathy and understanding. Disgusting customer service. Hope you find someone better to answer the phones with more patience.In response to your poor response, I simply asked to be run through your protocol and what steps I could take to handle the matter and Erica comtinued to deny my right to an answer about company policies. I was trying to work with her and she kept raising her voice. Please don’t try to make it seem like I was threatening you, surely not the case.

Ive been training here for three months in the Muay Thai classes as a complete beginner and I love it here! The instructors are legit and welcoming and definitely know what they are talking about.The gym culture is pretty relaxed and not intimidating at all. There are a wide range of skill levels and not a lot of egos here.The classes are sort of set up so that some people do both Muay Thai/Boxing and BJJ on the same day as they complement each other well.

Best gym in the dmv area by far. The coaches are very helpful and give individual advice. Its is a very special community that shows care and compassion to all of the members. I have only been a member for a month now and they welcomed me as part of their family. I would recommend joining to anyone that happens to read this. It is definitely worth it.

This gym already has a really special place in my heart, even though I have been a member for less than a year. Great for beginners, families and experienced athletes. I fully trust all of the instructors expertise and training; they know when/how to guide you as a beginner and push you as you become more skilled. My 16 year old daughter has been coming here for 4 years. We both love it at Crazy 88. The teachers are all world class competitors. So she gets excellent training. Joining Crazy 88 has been the best thing for my 2 sons and I since retiring from the Military. The Staff are great, knowledgeable, and ALWAYS available to answer questions.The Instructors.....Are down right phenomenal. Although I have not been taught by every available instructor, I have personally witnessed their dedication and commitment to each student on a consistent basis.The availability of classes allows flexibility for literally every work schedule; early in the morning or later in the evening.Lastly, and definitely not all that Crazy 88 has to offer, but by far my personal favorite....It is 100% a family focused environment. Everybody (minus a few) is extremely friendly and welcoming and supportive. Currently training here at the Crazy88 Elkridge location. Been here for a couple months. I do Muay Thai, BJJ, boxing, will start doing No-Gi BJJ this week, and hopefully wrestling soon too. Previously attended a different gym out in California but have learned faaaarr more in my time here than I did elsewhere.They have a variety of classes and are super beginner friendly. The coaches are all extremely knowledgeable and great teachers. The whole team is very nice and a pleasure to train with. And the gym gear is real nice too! Very good quality and look.This gym is the real deal. The team wins many competitions and the coaches work their students and motivate them to be their best whether its at competitions or just hitting pads. All around great gym!

I have been taking Maui Thai since last month and I really like the coaches and how they teach you. They answer every question you ask and correct I punches and rotations and other moves so that I can make progress. Although I just take a couple of classes but I really feel I build my strength. Really love this place and really regret I didn’t find out this school earlier!!!

My son has been going here for more than 3 years and absolutely loves it. The staff has been amazing and more than accommodating his special needs. I was so jealous of all the fun he was having while attending classes. So, I took the leap and decided that I should have the same opportunity. I signed up for the boot camp evening classes and love it. The workouts are super challenging but the energy of coach and music makes you unstoppable. I only wish that there was more time in the day to do more here.

My children have been going to this gym for about a month and they love it. I enjoy bringing my children here because the environment is awesome and the instructors are even better. I have experienced other gyms and it was not great there was always something like the price or other kids bullying other kids. There is none of that at crazy 88 and if a child does something the instructors correct it immediately. I would recommend you try it.

Crazy 88 is a phenomenal academy. I send my 2 kids there now going on 2 years and the confidence, competitiveness, and work ethic gleaned from an all pro caliber set of instructors is priceless. I also train there and I will say the classes are very enjoyable, humbling, and full of lessons learned “on the fly”. I wholeheartedly endorse Crazy 88 for anyone with zero to professional experience. For all military and LE, this class is a perfect adjunct to put in your “toolkit” for those close quarters situations.

The coaches and staff are all very knowledgeable, and are great at not only explaining how to do something but also when and why. The instruction is appropriate for everyone from beginners to people with years of experience, and for those looking to lose some weight or get in the ring. The location and hours are very convenient, even with my odd work schedule.The only reason I stopped going to Crazy 88 is because Im leaving the area. Our both daughters joined this gym more than two years ago. Both of them love to go there and output is visible. Their coaches are really putting a lot of effort into training and we are happy with their progress. All staff members and coaches are very friendly and professional. Our girls are very happy to come here and feel safe and comfortable with them.

I joined Crazy 88s three months ago and what keeps me committed is the friendliness of its staff, the knowledge and professionalism of its coaches, and the competitive/encouraging attitude of its members. I attend bootcamp and boxing classes 2-3 times a week and Im in the best physical shape Ive been in for a while! I like that my membership allows me to attend any of the classes offered. One thing Id like to see the gym add to its heavy bag area is a couple double ended striking bags. Come in and check em out, great gym.

I walked in at 265lbs, my asthma controlled my life and I was depressed after getting laid off and now Ive lost 70 pounds, my asthma barely even registers with me and Ive found such a great friends and support group. I had a lot of doubts about myself when I signed up. Honestly I thought Id quit after showing up for a few classes because I have never learned any martial arts before and I was not confident about being in the mat with other experienced students. But Instructors are very nice. The students also try to help each other. They are patient with you and they take their time when you dont get something. My daughter started with Crazy 88 in 2010. From the time that she started we have always felt welcome and excited to show up for practice. Life took over for while and we had to step away from 88. We were able to come back last year after 5 years; it was like we had never left. All the coaches and staff are amazing and we could not imagine training anywhere else.

Went to start my free trial, and they took me in, gave me a one on one orientation to learn the basic strikes for Muay Thai. Then they threw me right into a class. It was great. The instructors who taught me were very nice, very professional, and they would take time to correct anything they saw wrong. Other students who were more experienced would let me know if my technique was off, but they did it in a constructive and polite manner.I only give it 4 stars because it is expensive. At the end of your first class, someone will sit you down and talk you through their plans. They offered to waive the $300 registration fee, but the classes are still pretty expensive. During my meeting they were honest, said they were the most expensive in the area, and didnt pressure me at all. They understood my situation and told me that I could continue my trial while I tried to work out my finances.If you can afford it, Crazy 88 is a great place for someone who is just getting into Mixed Martial Arts. They were courteous and professional, and if I had the money to throw down, Id have left there as a member with no second guessing.

Ive been a student at Crazy 88 for over 7 years. When I started, we were in a small practice space that doubled as a furnace. I have watched this school grow and prosper into what it is now- the premier martial arts academy in the Baltimore area. Coming up over the years, Ive seen teenagers turn into World Champion athletes, normal everyday people get into the best shape of their lives, and I watched a guy nicknamed The Devastator follow all of his dreams to find success everywhere he goes.Crazy 88 has not just been a place for me to practice martial arts. It has become my haven. The self reflection I have on the mats about jiujitsu, Ive applied to my personal and professional life.I am very thankful be apart of Crazy 88! What cant I say about Crazy 88? For a long term martial artist such as myself, I have a few criteria that I use to judge a school . The first is always the instruction. Julius has an amazing gift for breaking down techniques into concepts that not only make sense, but stick with you. His explanations range can be funny, light, and insightful and through his teaching you can really see how much he really loves jiujistu. You cant help but be effected by that excitement, and it really helps keep your motivation up when youve had an off day at work or something isnt clicking. Julius and the instructors also give a lot of individual attention and help to make the environment friendly and open. That environment is the second criteria I use to judge my training. Crazy 88 has a crew of people from all walks of life from students, professionals, parents, and even professional athletes. People are friendly and always train with control. This can be a problem in martial arts environments, but at Crazy 88 everyone understands that we all want to push ourselves and increase our physical skills, but also be able to go to work the next day. If you want to train at the highest levels that is certainly available to you and the schools decorated BJJ practitioners can definitely push you to new heights, but this is by no means a requirement. The school has a great community and I always get a welcoming energy when I arrive to train. My final criteria is always the school itself. Crazy 88 Elkridge is an amazing facility with plenty of mat space, and a schedule that allows me to fit in classes throughout the day. Changing areas have some great features for a working guy like me such as showers in case I need to go straight from the school back to work.Crazy 88 is a school where you can get top quality instruction, meet great people, and work out in a great facility. Total package!

I love the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class and training with Master Julius and all the coaches here!! The program here is by far the best in the area. I love that I get to train with people who are on all different journeys too- from people who train for fun and also world class competitors. The atmosphere is filled with good vibes. This gym is like my second home and the people in it are like my family!

Having previous martial arts experience and having been to quite a few gyms, this is by far the best martial arts gym Ive been to. Its a very friendly and positive atmosphere, and the coaches genuinely care and help you no matter what your experience is. I have been training at Crazy 88 since 2009 and this has been the best martial school that I have had to pleasure to train at. It is a huge facility, lots of friendly people from all different ages and backgrounds and the best instructors in the DMV area. It is engineered for people who want to get a great workout, learn a martial art, or compete at the highest level so it is definitely for everybody. Great place to train

I love training at Crazy 88. The classes I do are great. I train Muay Thai and BJJ. The classes are at different times to help fit into people’s schedules. The people are great and want everyone to succeed.
