Found this gem yesterday. I am teaching myself to quilt and most stores I have been to are out of fabric. We went in and they have a great array of high quality beautiful fabrics. Richard, who owns the business with his wife, was sooo helpful and fun to chat with. Once the shelter in place ends, I can’t wait to go to a few quilting and embroidery classes there. Will 100% be back.

Elk Grove Sewing and Vac is a great place to go for classes, fabric and machine maintenance. Their prices are extremely reasonable for great quality. They carry a very good selection of fabric including batiks, and lots of extra wide backing choices. Friendly staff, caring service and great follow up. Classes are smaller than the bigger stores giving a much more personal experience. They offer great classes on quilting, sewing and embroidery. Check them out you’ll be pleased.

I bought a used long arm with computer from Richard and Roxanne a few years ago and they were very accommodating. They delivered it and set it up even though I live 100 miles away and Richard comes once a year to service it. They offer great classes at a reasonable price. Their fabric is priced well also.

I had signed up and paid to take a class and unfortunately could not attend. They gave me a credit to use at another time and I thought that was really nice for them to do. This is a great store to do business with. Thank you!

The prices are always fair as well as very competitive. But, what makes this shop the very best is the level of their customer service! Not only do the owners (Richard & Roxanne) go out of their way to answer questions and respond to needs, the entire staff makes you feel like “family” and are always helpful and cheerful! It’s a wonderful place to visit, buy and learn!

This shops main mission is Customer Service satisfaction. I purchased a Handi-Quilter long arm machine and have received excellent training and service from the owners, Richard and Roxanne Montrouil. They are also an affiliate to our Elk Grove Quilt Guild and are very gracious about allowing us to use their classroom. This is a mandatory shop stop for all quilters!

My Dyson hand vacuum have stop working so I brought it to the shop. They took a look and suggest that clean it inside. I left it and they fixed it in couple of days. I got charged just for tuneup. That was much less than I expected. Im very happy about the experience because I thought I may be have to replace whole vacuum. I will definitely come back when I need to.

Purchased a Miele canister vac. Owner spent at least 45 minutes with us going over all the amazing features. Very happy with the product. Maneuvers like a race car. Vacuumed three times in the first week. No more cat hair tumbleweeds. Happy to recommend this family-owned establishment.

I brought in my sad $75 vacuum to be serviced because it was making a loud hissing noise. I wasn’t planning on getting a new vacuum but I knew mine was not good at all and was open to the idea. While I was there they did not do a hard sell, they just showed me the various options available and took time to explain all the different options. They were VERY informed. I was excited to find a vacuum with a bag. After having a bagless vacuum I will GLADLY pay for bags. The fine dust that comes out when you empty the canister and the need to clean the filters every 30 days were something I wanted to get away from. I first brought home a Simplicity vacuum trying to get something that would do the job well but not be excessively costly. However, I got it home and I found myself dreaming of the Miele Dynamic upright I had tried. It had a body that swivels easily to get around corners, a VERY long cord (I don’t have to plug and unplug during my vacuuming session), it’s quiet, it has an actual handle on the hose for cleaning drapes and furniture, etc. It is a little on the heavier side but the benefits are worth it. I actually WANT to vacuum! I swear my carpet is even fluffier after I’m done. Anyways, very, very happy with the vacuum I purchased. Not sure that it was the lowest price but the guys were very informative and easy to work with and I like the idea of supporting a small, well run business.

It was our first time coming here a few weeks ago. Our Dyson Animal died out on us one day and after calling the customer service line, Elk Grove Sewing and Vacuum came up as a certified repair center. We dropped off our unit, and we were told there would probably be an extra cost if they needed to do other things to diagnose it.Turns out our unit just overheated and worked fine thereafter. They were unable to replicate the problem so there was no extra cost as we are still under warranty as well.The one section of the store has a sewing teaching area which is neat.We now have a place to take our vacuum.

This is a family owned business and they are incredibly nice and extremely helpful. I traded in my 8 year old Dyson Animal for a Miele Dynamic U1. The owner showed me several different vacuums that I had been researching and gave me the information I needed to select the best one for my needs. I have two dogs that shed constantly (a German Spitz and an Australian Shepherd) and the Miele is amazing. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone looking to buy a new vacuum or get one repaired. I was actually referred to this shop by a friend who had also had a great experience here. They are very knowledgeable and gave me a great deal on a new vacuum.

I heard from a few people that Elk Grove Sewing & Vacuum Center had great service and was a great place to take your sewing machine if you needed repairs. I inherited a Serger from my grandmother that hadnt been used in a couple of years so brought it here to get checked out and found it had some problems. Also turns out the machine is old and parts arent made for it anymore. They spend several weeks hunting down the parts to fix it (keeping me updated) and then once they had the parts, they found it would need more work. They gave me another update letting me know current status, how much it would cost to fix it currently plus whatever else they found (I had so far only paid a $25 deposit (non-refundable to look at the machine)), OR they had just gotten a trade-in used Serger that was in good working condition that they would sell me for a little more than the current repairs if I traded in mine. I took the deal and it was even better than they had described! Not only is the Serger better than I had but they added a 1 year warranty in case anything breaks on it and if I want I can call and set up an appointment for them to show me how to use this new machine if I need/want to. I am now a customer for life! Great service that goes the extra mile!
