When I got to the dealership everything was that much easier because I already had in mind what I wanted to get, I was out of the lot and driving home within 60 minutes of arriving. An absolute waste of time. We had an appointment to come out and see the car and were extremely disappointed to hear that the car was sold.We understand that we didn’t reserve the car, but a call or a courtesy email to let us know the car is sold before driving over an hour from Chicago would have been appreciated. Instead of getting a confirmation email an hour before the appointment.No respect for peoples time and they didn’t even apologize for the mess up.

We arrived around a quarter past seven and were greeted by Marcos as soon as we entered. He was our salesperson for the evening. After introducing himself, he asked what we came in for. I explained we came to see a used 2017 VW Jetta. After clarification on which one in particular, he took us to his desk and we sat down so he could photocopy my drivers license. Shortly after that he came back and had the car prepared for a test drive. We went on the drive and everything went smoothly. He encouraged me to open up the car a bit more once we were on a road more suitable to that kind of driving. All standard car-showing stuff. Afterward we sat down to discuss the price and any additional fees. Most of the standard fee stuff was there. We negotiated on one of the fees and on the price itself. Marcos discussed it with his manager, came back and it was close to what I was looking for. After some hemming and hawing I went ahead with the agreed upon price and we had the financing to get done. The initial rate was too high for my blood but they were able to knock it down a few points to something more reasonable. The finance manager Rayan was very straight-forward and did his best to get me a good rate and to explain everything. It was very step-by-step. After signing all the required documents I received the keys and a copy of all the paperwork. We left a bit after closing but they were patient and closed out the sale. Marcos and Rayan did very well for us and I am satisfied with their efforts. Thanks Elgin VW!

I just bought my third car at Elgin Volkswagen. I didnt expect to buy another car, let alone a new car, but the ads I kept receiving from Elgin VW were enticing. So we stopped to look. My existing VW was getting some age on it, although it still ran great and I loved it. We work with Shawn Quindel, who we also bought our previous two cars from. Shawn brought out a demo for me to drive. It was a new Jetta, which I was looking for. The car was perfect - color, size, features, extras - and I bought it on the spot! Shawn and others at Elgin VW helped me finance the car at a monthly payment slightly less than my previous payment. Whats not to like! Shawn helped me set up the features before we left. The salesman, Jeff, was easy to converse and the manager was open to negotiate but they didnt inform us of the forms of payment effectively. We had to jump hoops in order to pay the down. It was too late to extend our resources. We had to have a bank representative intervene.

I wanted to make Elgin vw my service dealer, but with the multiple issues I encountered, this was not possible and I’ll have to choose a different dealer. First, after scheduling an appointment weeks in advance, I receive a message just two days before that they have to cancel my Saturday appointment due to not having enough technicians. I would have appreciated an earlier warning. I chose Saturday because... Second, they are incapable of giving me a loaner for a weekday drop off. They said they only have 3! What kind of dealer only has 3 loaners? I have to be put on a “loaner list” apparently. What a joke.

Everything was good. Fairly smooth. Thought we were treated good and fair. We drove a long way to get there, they seemed to be pretty understanding of that. And put up with my twin 5 year olds well.We ran into a small issue right after accepting the Jeep. But they made it right. So I would highly recommend these guys.

We purchased a 2021 VW Atlas SE R-Line. I had a bad experience with another dealership and came here with exactly what I wanted and with a timeframe I needed the vehicle by. They were able to find me the exact vehicle, right down to color and features. We will be coming back here in the future regardless of the fact we live almost 2 hours away. We dealt with Craig, sales associate Miles/Myles, and the finance department and they were all professional, polite, and went above and beyond.

Allison Petty and her upper management team were wonderful people. Everyone was willing to get a deal done and help me find financing at a decent rate for a used car. Sat down with me and explained everything from back to front when it came the paperwork time. Good honest hardworking people, they do business the right way. Their goal at the end of the day is to sell cars, but they do it in a very honest and transparent way.Only bad part was I was missing a brake fluid cap which allowed spillage and moisture to build.

Drove 20 hours round trip from Upstate NY to make a deal involving a trade for a vehicle at Elgin VW, and it was seriously worth every minute. After searching much of the North East US for a particularly optioned 2018 Tiguan SE, and having poor experiences with other, local dealerships, I expanded my search and found exactly what I was looking for. Vito and Allison were a pretty pleasure to work with in coordinating the deal over the phone and gave a very fair trade offer. Jeff, AJ, and Craig were all fantastic when we arrived to take delivery. All smooth and no-nonsense. We initially drove off, and noticed that a window switch was broken, and the tires were making a lot of noise. We brought it right back and they made everything right by fixing the switch and installing brand new tires! Very trustworthy and honest dealer. 10/10 would do business with again!

7/16 Update! The GM Craig and Alex (in service) were extremely helpful once my case was put in front of them. You could tell they were both genuinely upset about to situation and they did everything in their power to rectify the situation. Because of that I’m going to give them another shot when I need an oil change.I’ve driven VW for some time now and been to multiple dealerships. Elgin VW is hands down is the worst service experience I’ve ever had.If I had a re-do I wouldn’t purchase my Tiguan from them. Even from day one I didn’t like how I was greeted when I walked in. Poor communication and pure confusion on the part of their service team and sales guys. When I spoke with a manager about my specific situation his tone showed he didn’t care. I’d rather drive to a dealership that’s further away then spend any money here.I’m genuinely disappointed with this dealership. Most of their reviews are generally positive. Maybe it’s my fault for expecting basic levels of communication between their teams as it pertains to a customer experience, sadly I was wrong.

Made appointment for oil change in my car. The night before appointment called service department to add a transmission flush service, and also explained my wife would be dropping off car. The guy who spoke to quoted me on the phone and “added” request. Later on the day went to pick up car and found they had only done oil change. Now I had to either leave car more time, come back and pick it up again. None try to make the situation better. All I got was “ you can leave it here now or bring it back another time to get it done”. Not happy with my customer service experience today.
