El segundo dentistry has been amazing. Great customer service. I had an accident at work that required some dental work and was refer to this dentistry. The receptionist was even kind enough to offer my son a snack while he waited on the lobby. Since then I transferred my care there. I live in a different county but is well worth the drive about 122 miles round trip to be exact. Who likes to go to the dentist? Well I didn’t because of pain. But I don’t know how they do it that I have no pain during a procedure. This is why I recommend this dentist. You should definitely give them a try.

Every time Ive had an appointment here theres been a LONGER than normal wait. Why? Because the waiting area is filled with people 🙄Ive seen them bring in other patients, ahead of me, and leave me waiting.The head orthodontist here, Hamid, is all about the money. I was shown little to zero concern, as a patient when he was treating me.I stopped coming here BEFORE Covid-19. But they kept calling me to do a follow-up appointment. I finally made the follow-up and again, Im sitting here waiting to be seen.After an hour of waiting a female orthodontist had me sit. She asked if my retainers were loose and I told her no. She insisted on adjusting my retainers (top and bottom) because otherwise, why are you here? Was her question. She also said they should be touching my teeth, which they were.I even told her you can choose to listen to me or continue to argue with me. As she argued, she continued twisting the metal on my top molars retainer.I explained to her I came because an appointment was generated for me, as I hadnt been there in over a year.But I reiterated I DIDNT NEED AN ADJUSTMENT.**I went there so that whomever was examining my bite, would be able to see whether my teeth were still fine or off alignment.**I made a complaint to Vanessa (office manager) and she was useless. She told me that if I wanted to replace the retainer I would have to agree to use the SAME ORTHODONTIST that ruined my metal retainer AND the replacement retainer would be plastic (like Invisalign) not like what the woman ruined.To replace the retainer I have are hundreds of dollars.I would not recommend this place.I am sure there are other orthodontists in the area that put people first, not money and are far more professional.They are liable and I take this very seriously.

I had been putting off going to the dentist for a while because I would always get really bad gag reflexes when it came time to doing my X-rays. But this time was completely different, the staff here was very careful and understanding of my problem and managed to take my X-rays quickly and without any issues! These were the most seamless X-rays I have gotten taken at any dentist office! Dr. Spetcu was super nice, and he made me feel like he genuinely cared about my well-being, and staff member Cat finished my deep cleaning soon after. I’ll be coming back soon for my teeth whitening!

Came here because of a chipped tooth. They were kind of to see me same day. They did an amazing job explaining exactly what was wrong and walking me through the process of getting a ceramic filling. I didnt have insurance and they still took care of me. Very professional!

I had a few things done here and the overall experience has been excellent! Two root canals both with NO pain, one from a pretty women dentist with big beautiful hair and the other from Dr.Mach who was super polite, did a GREAT job at numbing and worked super fast. The dental assistant is always down to hold my hand when I’m getting numbed (don’t act like you’re not scared of the dentist) and Melissa is new but she’s sooooo personable!! I liked the other lady but she seemed a bit pushy (although nice) where Melissa is just a sweetheart who’s owner mind giving you time to think, figure it out and get it done. The other women Adriana is very nice, well spoken and both are very pretty. I wasn’t going to come after I heard my original dentist left (I have trust issues lol!) but this office is great, does great work and I don’t feel scammed. 5 stars, will def be back. :)

I arrived at El Segundo Modern Dentistry for my 4pm consultation for braces today. I was a bit uncomfortable sitting outside in close proximity to others waiting to be seen. I had just Ubered from Downtown LA and I nearly froze to death because my driver maybe thought freezing covid-19 and everyone in the car kills it. So the chilliness prompted me to go for a walk to Starbucks for a hot cup o Joe until the office was ready to see me. The office called to tell me that the Dr. was ready for me. He had a pleasant demeanor and was quick and knowledgeable. He escorted me to a lounge area to meet Vanessa to talk financing. Its a lot of money, but Im worth every penny. I want a healthier smile and because of El Segundo Modern Dentistry, I just might be able to afford it.

I want to thank Edna the office manager she was very helpful with my treatment and she explained and answered all my questions and took care of what I needed, and not to mention Marina the hygienist is amazing like I mentioned I am scared of needles but she made me feel at ease and had the best cleaning she explained the whole process, my wife comes here too and recommended this office and I feel very satisfied , Alex the assistant ran to help Marina so I could get out on a timely manner after a long day of work, with the five star treatment I got!!! Awesome team! Every time I have been to El Segundo Modern Dentistry it has been a great experience. I’ve seen the doctors and hygienists for cleanings, fillings, and a nightguard fitting and it’s always friendly care by knowledgeable professionals.

A smile is the best thing you can wear, and these guys are experts. Overall front office was easy to work with, accommodating to my schedule. Dental team was welcoming, in particular Danny. Where do I start my husband went there in June I myself called and verified the insurance and gave them the info.He went in for his appointment they charged him and didnt even go thru the insurance.Nobody knows nothing and I have been going back and forth with them forever trying to get the money that they owe me but of course nobody calls me back and when they did they said Id have my money in 10 days that was weeks ago.His appt was in June its October now. Avoid this place!!!!! This is so ridiculous. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND GO ELSEWHERE.Funny how they reply to the great reviews on here but the negative reviews they dont respond to.Also I see in not the only one who they have done the same exact thing to. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and calling my insurance to report this people should not have to go through this fraud place of business.

Everyone here is very nice, they treat you good. I like how they give you good advice for the braces. They’re gentle while putting, fixing and tightening you’re braces which I also like because I wouldn’t want someone being rough. It’s also a very nice place I like the stations that they have here, they’re always prepared and keep everything organized.

Honestly, I dont even know where to start on this review! I absolutely LOVE this office. From the front desk, to the assistants, to Dr. Hamid, everyone is extremely nice and friendly. They treat you like family here. Ive been seeing Dr. Hamid for my visits for over a year now. He is always smiling and makes his patients feel comfortable. You can tell he really cares about his patients.The assistants I work with, Nancy and Chelsea are not only extremely knowledgeable but very friendly. They always interact with me during my visits and make sure I am comfortable. Anytime I have a question or concern it gets addressed immediately.On my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of meeting the regional manager Sandy and she was AWESOME. Most places wouldnt have their regional manager asking you how your treatment is going but here, they all care about their patients. Their customer care and employees simply set themselves apart from other offices. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone!

Had the best experience at this dentist office over all ! As soon as I stepped into the office I had a warm welcoming from the receptionist Angelica G. She made sure I was checked in properly and had everything verified before my appointment. She never let her smile die from her face. Dr. Ryan is a very professional dentist that wants the best for his patients and he really cares, he is a five star dentist. Walking in I was immediately welcomed by Valerie - very welcoming and lovely, helped my mother with the coffee machine and any other needs to make her comfortable for my appointment.I was escorted by Cheyenne who then took my x-rays and made sure I was comfortable and at ease.After the X-rays I was seen by their Doctor, Hamid Barkhordar and it went very well. Im a new patient at El segundo Modern Dentistry. Ive had 3 appointments and my recent appointment is what bring me here to write this review. Today I went in to have my spacers ( those things are no joke!) removed and my bottom braces applied. Carina was awesome. She was very calm, patient and so understanding she seems to really enjoy her work. I was havent a bit discomfort with my placing of the ortho bands. Carina went beyond getting that band placed in my mouth and I truly appreciate that. As long as Im wearing my braces I will try my best to get Carina. 👍🏽

I was excited to check out this office thinking it would be my new and forever dental home. Unfortunately that will not be the case. The front office staff, hygienist and dentist seemed nice enough, but my real issue came to the billing/finances part of the day. The lady in charge of billing told me I needed to get a “laser” deep clean because I had gum disease. She stated that the dentist recommended this, however the dentist only stated I should get some fillings re-done. This was a clear shot at getting more money. I get that this is a business, but it’s also a business that services people. And as such, I wish they would be more honest and transparent. When I said I wanted to take time to research the laser treatment, and would go ahead with a regular cleaning. She said that the dentist would refuse to do a regular cleaning because he already recommended deep cleaning for my gum disease. Which, I repeat, the dentist never said himself. AND I know for a fact I do not have. I am extremely disappointedly with my experience at this office and urge anyone that goes here to get a second opinion before committing to anything. I left without a cleaning, and will be informing my friends, colleagues and insurance about the this incident.

I never been so compelled to write a negative review about a place like I do about this place. I went a few months ago as a first time customer. I was taken to the back for X-Rays, after that I had to wait 30 mins in the room only to be seen by a dentist (I assume). Did not even take his mask of to start telling me how my fillings were broken, I had 2 cavities and was also in need of a deep cleaning. That was surprising for me because I go every 6 moths for cleaning and check and never been told that. He called in the billing person and she asked for $650 for all the work that was needed. I felt that they were only in to get money from me. I asked for my X- rays, pay for the visit, Never had to pay before and left. Had to call them quite a fer times to finally get the X-rays by email.Finally got to go to the dentist ( a real one ) yesterday. They did my check, NO cavities, no need to change my fillings and no need for deep cleaning. WOW was I right. Good people of El Segundo, do not just believe these people when they say that you need things that you are positive you dont, even more if you visit the dentist on regular basis. Just get a second opinion. I never write reviews like this but it makes me angry to see people conducting business like this.

I am so happy with the treatment I am receiving here! First my case was little complicated. After visiting a number of Invisalign orthodontists and getting a variety of very expensive options, my treatment plan was a creative solution given to me at price I wanted to pay.The staff here are both knowledgeable and friendly. They always have answers to my questions, are gentle and informative about what to expect and what could happen.In very short time I have seen a dramatic change in my teeth. Every time look in the mirror to brush and floss, I see the difference; I can also feel the movement of teeth when I floss. I am very pleased with the results so far, and look forward to the final result.This is a great place for orthodontic treatment. Dr Hamid is the best, he takes his time and you feel like you are his only patient. He is open to trying a variety of solutions, which in my case was a very good thing. My case was complicated!If you dont have insurance coverage for your treatment, no worries. They offer financing through Wells Fargo or Greensky. Quick approval, and they start treatment same day.If you want the best treatment this is place to go!

I can’t say enough about how incredibly kind and awesome the team is here. I had to switch dentists due to a new job, new insurance and to be able to find the correct coverage with my PPO and this is all something I never like to do. I’m consistent so it was already a pain trying to find a new dentist so I went with the first one on the list. Called and spoke to a very friendly woman named Susan, who already started running my insurance and invited me to come in right away. The fact that I was able to get a walk-in appointment was so cool but better yet it was right down the road. Paperwork was a breeze and I didn’t have to wait long at all. A nice waiting room and Netflix with complimentary water and coffee was so pleasing. I had a very thorough consultation which became much more than just a cleaning, in fact I was able to address a concern for an out-dated silver filling that needed to be replaced. The doctor, Ryan, set clear expectations of what were the best solutions, allowing me to go with a less invasive procedure based on the condition of my tooth: he recommended an overlay vs. a full on crown. But still made it clear it may become necessary for a full crown. I trusted what he said and both he and Susan kept me laughing through the process which was very cool, especially for a dentist’s office on your day off of work. I should mention too they used the latest technology to offer complimentary x-rays as a new patient & when it came to the actual procedure, they used a computer-generating software instead of making a traditional mold. I didn’t want to know too many of the technical aspects but felt complete trust in going through with this. Susan invited me to come back in a few hours after having some lunch and I thanked her for the heads up because after the procedure I would’ve had to abstain from eating for a few hours. I came back and everyone was just as friendly as before and Dr. Ryan was such a pro at removing the old filling he had a great assistant with whom he had great communication and made sure I felt literally no pain at all for the entire procedure. They took their time to make exact measurements, checked, re-checked and checked it again to assure the proportion was correct and the bite was completely aligned. I’ll come back for the overlay crown in three weeks but they made sure even the temporary was almost unrecognizable from the rest of my teeth. I had the cleaning with the hygienist after which was a breeze, everyone was totally on their game and available for any questions I had at anytime. I can’t wait to see the finished product; it feels so good that something I’ve waited for years to address was so simply and carefully taken care of so quickly and efficiently.It’s great to find a hidden gem of dentistry!

I broke a crown today and they were able to get me on their schedule and take care of fitting me for a temporary crown until the final one arrives. The doctor and staff were all very pleasant. First time here but I plan on having all my dental work and cleanings done by them going forward.

It is the worst clinic that I have been to in my life, they made an appointment 4 times and when I arrived they did not attend me, they also took me measures for a chorana and for a night guard and they did not serve my measure. Terrible clinic and attention. I will never return or recommend.

Before I went to this dentist the first time I asked if my they took my insurance. They said yes and asked that I have them be assigned as my primary dentist. I did and went for my first visit. Four fillings each costing me $200 out of pocket later their insurance specialist tells me the reason Ive been paying $200 per filling is because they dont accept my insurance theyre just giving me a discount. I walked out in anger. Then I asked the admin assistant if she can send me a copy of my receipts that includes what was done so that I could get a reimbursement from my HSA. She was supposed to get back to me after a week. Its been 3 months now. I will never go there again and I will warn others too.

Everyones professional and friendly; got me in and out of the office really quickly!

I like this denitist bc they help me with my braces for super cheap and they do rafels they do the barces up and bottom for cheap. Come to the best dentist ever 5 star rating!! Friendly environment! Staff was very patient and polite. They make you feel comfortable and laugh alot during your visit. Very professional. Consultationist works with you when pricing and provide patients with the best options.

Update: 02/15/2018I just received a call from Derek Lee an attorney at Employee Legal Justice Group stating that El Segundo Modern Dentistry was going to sue me for defamation for my previous Yelp review (below).Original Review:This is the worst dental office I have ever had the experience of visiting. The staff is incredibly unprofessional and a little sketchy. They do not appear to have a specialist who handles billing/insurance matters.When I went in for a consultation I had to wait in the dental chair for 30 min. before the doctor arrived. That was the first red flag.The consultation went well and when I asked for a quote the staff member verbally quoted me a price and then kept trying to make me sign an agreement, pay and start the services on the spot without ever providing an invoice and written treatment plan. This made me very uncomfortable. I felt like I was dealing with a tacky cars sales man not a health care provider. This was the second red flag.I told the staff member that I wanted to pay with my HSA/FSA funds however, I thought that the service should still be run through my insurance. I did find this dental office on my insurers website after all. Two different staff members at Modern Dentistry told me that they didnt accept my insurance. That was the third red flag.I decided to call my insurance company for good measure, as Modern Dentistry staff continued to insist that they did not accept my insurance Finally, I had to have a three way call between a representative from my insurance company and someone from Modern Dentistry in-order to convince them that they were in my insurance network (very concerning and why should a patient/customer have to do this???). Finally, a staff member acknowledges my insurance will work for the services that I am seeking and submits a treatment plan through my insurance. As soon as the treatment plan is ready, another staff member calls to inform me that the that the services are not covered covered by my insurance. Fourth and final red flag.Another red flag worth noting is that I have dealt with a number of representatives from Modern Dental but they always say they work for other offices (Dental office, Carson dental, Modern Dentistry).Dealing with the staff was so awful that I finally decided to just find another orthodontist. I would pay more/drive further to receive a standard of service and professionalism. My experience dealing with this office is almost comical as every interaction has been egregiously unprofessional.Advice to the doctor: Hire better people or start training and managing your staff!

Walked in had a appointment for my son they are very friendly and can I say the doctor was awesome they made my son feel comfortable and not scared and now next week he will be going in for his treatment 🙌🏽

Saw an ad on YouTube and I know that guy you used is an actor( Hollywood Heights was a show i saw him in). Please if you sell yourself use actual clients.
