He was so responsive and easy to work with throughout the entire process, and was so kind and understanding when we had to postpone due to the pandemic. The lights, photobooth, music...everything was spot on and all our guests were dancing the entire night having the best time. We hired Second Song to DJ our wedding ceremony and reception and my wife and I could not have been happier with how it all turned out. After an initially horrible experience with our first DJ company for our wedding, my wife and I were looking for a replacement DJ 6 weeks out. We had DJ Mike for our wedding and everything from the start to finish was very seamless. We got to talk to the DJ and work on selecting the type of music we wanted at our event. Having a vendor that can provide multiple services and have one point of contact is AMAZING! I only have four words of advice for couples who are searching for a wedding DJ: Hire Second Song Immediately! As we planned the majority of our wedding during the pandemic, it was incredibly important to hire vendors that we could communicate with effectively. Rob is the picture of professionalism. He listened to everything we wanted and delivered on our vision and helped us build upon it. He suggested a silent disco for the end of the night and that was by far one of the most memorable parts of the evening! I dont think anyone left the dancefloor the entire night! I personally am not a fan of photo booths because of the lame props and not so great quality. This photo booth surpassed all of my expectations and the guests absolutely loved this at our venue! We hired Second Song for our wedding and couldnt be happier! Our DJ, Mike, was the best. He had the perfect mix of songs we had pre-selected and songs that everyone wanted to dance to, and he knew exactly what to play at the right time. Because of the pandemic we had to keep our wedding small, but Mike was able to set up a Zoom livestream so that people could join in from home. We used Second Song for our wedding Zoom Live Stream and for our DJing service. Rob was great in helping us book a package that worked for us and after doing a lot of research, it was the best deal we found as well. With COVID limiting our wedding number, it was important for us to have a live stream we could rely on for our family members and friends who could not attend.Jason was great in helping with that! Everyone who attended the live stream said that it went smoothly. They got 2 different views and the audio was great. We also got a recording of our ceremony after and even got to see the gallery view and see the comments with us. It meant so much to me that this went smoothly and with so many things that couldve potentially gone wrong, it went perfect (even for our older folks not familiar with technology)!!!Kara was the BEST DJ!! She made the dance floor so fun for our parents friends and for us. She knew what music to play and was great about being on top of what music to play at what time. She was great at communicating with us prior to the event, and we couldnt have asked for a more perfect DJ to get our grandparents and parents moving as well as our friends dancing and singing the night away.HIGHLY RECOMMEND SECOND SONGS SERVICES and if you can definitely book Kara and Jason. We used Second Song for our wedding in May 21’ and were so pleased with the music, MC’ing, photo booth and uplights. Our DJ was Ralph and he was amazing to work with! Logistically from start to finish, Rob (owner) and Ralph (DJ) were professional, responsive and accommodating especially during Covid. We had to postpone our wedding by 6 months and thankfully they had availability and willingly worked with us on the changes.We had a few virtual meetings with Ralph for introductions and getting a feel for one another and to finalize details as the day approached. We could tell he is a master at his craft and a bonus, a great MC.Ralph was very receptive to our requests for songs and wedding day asks. He was super thorough with questions prior to the wedding and everything was on point in terms of timing and song selections. We weren’t too picky with music and also wanted him to have space to show off his taste and experience in music and he didn’t disappoint. Definitely recommend. Money well spent and everyone had a blast dancing!

When it came time to hiring a DJ/MC for our wedding, we were a bit hesitant because many of our friends recommendations were either all booked or not working anymore due to COVID. So it came down to looking for one on our own. We had this vision of a DJ/MC who is in a rock-band t-shirt, lugging around a turn table, having giant headphones around his/her neck. When we were introduced by Agnes at A fabulous Soiree and The Grassroom DTLA to Robert at Second Song, we were AMAZED at how professional and easy to work with these guys were. Quick and painless process, heres why you should think Second Song when looking for a DJ/MC:1. Professionalism. Robert was quick at answering our questions over email and offered us services with no fluff. Prices were reasonable. Not only did we just want DJ/MC services, they also offered packages which included virtual services since some of our international friends and family could not attend. Ralph was able to provide us quickly with a link to both Zoom and YouTube to allow our friends and family early access to make sure they can all view our ceremony without technical difficulty. NONE of my friends and family had in issue with connectivity during our wedding day.2. The DJ/MC. Kai was an out of this world DJ/MC. Like I mentioned before, we imagined our DJ to be wearing giant headphones, long shaggy hair, lugging around a turn table. Our first DJ/MC hiring experience was completely different in that Kai was in a suit, looking sharp, professional, and easy to work with. We had a moment to chat a little prior to the ceremony and since Second Song has had experience at our venue, the DJ/MC had no issues connecting to the audio equipment and had no hiccups during our night.3. Great preparation and presence. Prior to the event, our DJ/MC Kai called us to go over song choices, how the ceremony/reception would flow, offered suggestions on how to make the event go well, addressed our concerns, and coordinated with our other vendors such as our Officiant and our Wedding coordinator. During our ceremony and reception, the voice of Kai offered confidence and direction to make sure the night flowed smoothly, ending with top notch music!COVID NOTES: All precautions and safety measures followed. With Second Song, we did not have to worry!

In the midst of a pandemic, we continued to plan our wedding because given all that had happened, we wanted to still have something to celebrate, something to bring people together, as safely as we possibly could. And on top of that, as an LGBT couple, we were nervous about working with anyone and really, we could not have found more professional and respectful individuals with Second Song. I am so thrilled we were able to work with Second Song, Rob, and our deejay/emcee Andy for our big day. Rob was always available, and so accommodating to our needs and really was looking out for what was best for the wedding. Second Song was absolutely amazing!! My fiancee and I decided to move forward with our wedding plans but to do so in a way that was safe, fun, and memorable. We downsized our guest list to mainly immediate family members and then brought in our remaining 100+ guests virtually via Zoom. Second Song professionally coordinated our virtual guests in a way that beyond exceeded our expectations! With multiple camera angles and amazing audio (all of our friends and family were able to hear our vows perfectly), our virtual guests truly felt like they were with us in person on our big day. Second Songs team was amazing to work with. Having changed our original wedding plans to a micro wedding - we wanted our out of town guests be involved as much as possible.Our DJ Mike knew exactly the vibe we wanted to set with music and provided an AMAZING playlist. As well as facilitated including our zoom guests.Our out of town family was able to do a reading over zoom during our ceremony and speeches during our reception.Just the best experience all around.

Second Song was wonderful, we received an excellent package deal for our tiny COVID-safe ceremony in late March (11 people including us, the couple) which covered the Zoom livestream, videographer, and DJ. We had quite a big day, with two religious ceremonies and two separate locations - one in Santa Clarita, the other in Woodland Hills. They made it work so well and were on time. Ralph, our DJ, was excellent! He played the music we requested and made the day flow very smoothly and was able to navigate last minute changes without needing our direction, he read the room very well. Timo, our videographer, captured all the important moments of our ceremonies. The first video he made was shorter than we anticipated in the contract, so we followed up and he made a lovely final product that blew us away. I’m really grateful for the attentive customer service. Their staff wore masks and kept their distance as much as possible, which I very much appreciated. We were also given the opportunity to save our Zoom footage as well. They were also easy to get in touch with via phone and email, which is a must for any stressed out couple trying to make their special day flow nicely. We did not use a wedding planner, which made this all the more important and they were there to answer our questions and helped us plan accordingly.

Communication is key.. whenever I send an e mailnkr have a question, they respond in minutes.. these guys did an AMAZING job recording my ceremony and playing some background music. Everything went so smoothly.. I couldnt of asked for a better crew come make my wedding day more special

Rob is THE MAN! We loved working with Rob as our DJ at our wedding; he knows exactly what hes doing and completely got the vibe we were going for. Rob was amazing. He made sure we understood what was required to pull off our big non-profit school fundraiser gala, had everything we needed for the event, and worked to keep us within budget. Craig was top notch working with on site - highly recommend a walk through prior to your event as he caught a few things we had missed. I got married this past summer and, while I let my wife do most of the planning, I was adamant that I CHOOSE the DJ. I am extremely picky about music and even pickier about DJs. An MC/DJ can really make or break your wedding reception. Its the difference between a total rager that no one will ever forget and a blah blah cookie cutter playlist that everyone always hears and no one dances to. To me, you really need a DJ who can play to the room. Someone who has a good sense of who is at the party and what will get them moving and enjoying themselves. Too many times Ive seen DJs playing to the youngest (with raunchy rap or EDM) or oldest people in the room with tired, cliche wedding anthems to the total neglect of everyone else. Rare is someone who *gets* how to play to everyones tastes at just the right moments. Well, I can proudly and enthusiastically say I knew EXACTLY who Id be hiring for the job. I met one of the DJs at my cousins wedding and he freaking ROCKED the house. Not only with music but with awesome MCing. I knew immediately (even though I wasnt engaged yet) that this is who Id be having at my wedding. Fast forward 3 years, I called Rob, founder of Second Song. And just like Id hoped, he absolutely killed it. He was totally on top of every detail, coordinated with the band, made it so easy and stress-free for me.
