Its constant poor service from this company. Theyll make every excuse as to why they didnt pick up the trash. First, they tried to say they did pick it up but I watched the truck drive right by it. Then they tried to say it wasnt a Republic Services can. As you can see from the picture, it is. Then they tried to say it was too close to a telephone pole but it was 20 yards away. Finally, they said I didnt have an account with them. I read my account number off to them but the woman on the phone said she had no record of it. Then who is getting the money when I pay the bill?!? Why dont they just say, Sorry, someone will be by to pick it up right away? Because theyre the only game in town and they know it. They bribe the city council to hire them and theres nothing you can do about it.

Until this year I would classify their service as acceptable, however it completely fell apart earlier this year.First they changed the service day without ever notifying me; it took several calls to customer service to realize the missed pickups were due to a changed schedule, which they also had no record of.Secondly at some point they changed my trash pickup from weekly to once every 2 weeks. It took 2 months and multiple complaints before this was resolved.At present the service is acceptable once again, but customer service is on my speed-dial.

We have had Republic Services for the last 2 years and have never had a problem with them. Everytime we have had to call them (big item pickup, billing questions, getting the old owners trash cans removed, etc.) they have been incredibly responsive and honestly pleasant to deal with. Great customer service and weve never had any missed pickups.

The company has been responsive to my needs/inquiries. They notify customers of holidays so your neighbors do not have to look at your trash bin for days! Drivers have been good about leaving the lid of my bin closed after they empty it, which I appreciate.

Republic picks up our weekly trash and bi-weekly recycyling. Jay is our driver/pick up man and he is AWESOME. He is very friendly, reliable, efficient and goes above and beyond to perform a great job.

Ordered a 20yard rolloff 2 weeks ago. It was scheduled to be delivered last Thursday, when it didnt show I called them Friday morning. Was told it would be placed in expedited status and someone would call within the hour to schedule delivery. No one called , Icalled back an hour and half later. I was once again told someone would contact me within an hour. Again this didnt happen and again I called and asked to speak to supervisor because if I wasnt getting a dumpster I needed to call a different company. I was then put on hold for 25 minutes, this being 230pm now, I spoke to the supervisor who assured me she would contact the Edwardsville office directly and would definitely get this taken care of and she would personally call me back within an hour. Again no call back and now being 4pm I call again to be told that the supervisor would return my call next business day, which is Monday. Cannot express how frustrating and inconvenient this has been. We close on this property this Thursday and still no dumpster, luckily was able to get one through different company

They respond when they are called and do a great job. They introduced two private pickups instead of twice a year cleanup days, which I never used. It worked great in the first town I was in and I personally recommended it to Maryville and Republic, and was instituted in the second town. Very responsive!

They pick up the trash, recycle, and yard waste consistently. Notification of holiday changes in pickup. The one dislike is the high volume wait time when you call them; but, given that happens more and more with any business you call nowadays

I have never had a complaint about the service. The drivers are friendly and always wave. I see posts of people complaining about dropped trash and I can guarantee their container was over full making it impossible for trash not to fall out when picked up. Big item pickup is a breeze. If they get too busy and don’t make it, there is always a call to update me on when they can make it. Had to have a container lid repaired and it was completed before the next pick up date. Two basic rules to follow and your service is Golden. Don’t overfill and keep containers 3 feet apart! Your people do a fantastic job.

Republic Services is the trash pick-up service in my area and they have been for years. I have never had any issues with the service. If, for some reason, the truck doesnt show up on its scheduled day, there is always a message that goes out as to the expected pick-up time. On one occasion, my bin was cracked and customer service was polite and responsive. They delivered another bin and took the cracked one with the trash pick-up for that week. Trash pick-up is an essential service and they do a great job!

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Republic Services for trash and yard waste removal. If they arent going to be here on time, I receive a robo call. The trash men are cordial, accommodating, and go the extra mile. They remove bulky trash for a fee. Its all good.

There is always trash in my neighborhood after pickup and the drivers often knock over cans. Additionally, their automated billing has never worked for me for some reason and I frequently have to call and pay late fees. This is poor business practice and extortion since there are no other options to service my area.

I normally dont comment on any of these reviews but thought I would for Republic Services. I forgot to put out my trash one week and the driver of our route got out of his truck pulled my trash can out dumped it and put the can back in my driveway! Now thats great customer service! I did call the office to let them know what their driver did and I bought the young man lunch for his efforts.

I give them 2 stars. In the winter if the weather is bad on the day of your pick up and they cancel service for that day they do not make it up and you are charged. If they can make up Holiday days which they do they can make up for inclement weather days. Household trash cannot sit for two weeks and that is what happens when they choose to skip your day.

Constantly late picking up trash on a weekly basis. Trash pickup day is Monday and its Tuesday or Wednesday before it gets picked up after calling Edwardsville location and reporting missed pickup. Not to mention the cost for pickup is ridiculous and gone up alot for the terrible service

Monday is pick up in Troy and my tote was missing I called republic service in edwardsville and she said that it broke while driver was picking up and she will advise them so they can get me one by next service date 8/2 it is Saturday two days before pick up and no trash tote and unable to leave messageI cannot believe they print that they remove garbage to keep everything clean and sanitary.

I talked with an associate to schedule a bulk pickup. We discussed what items I had and it was determined they were household items. The first available date was in 8 days and they said I should set them out the day before. I did that but they never showed up. When I called they said someone had reviewed the pickup and determined they were construction items and not eligible for pickup. They never called to cancel so now I have bulk items laying by the road. No wonder you have terrible ratings your service sucks!

The driver refused pick up of my recycling because he saw wooden trim boards in the can. Not his fault, to the naked eye 10ft away, they look like wooden trim boards. Upon calling Republic Services Edwardsville to explain that they were in fact not wooden but polystyrene (an acceptable #6 plastic) I was treated to a condesending tone on the call and in multiple emails about my complaint. Per RS All in One Recycling form, #6 plastics in rigid form are acceptable as long as theyre not sticking out of the trash can. They werent, I broke them down enough to close the lid with about a foot gap. So, in my mind, RS is in breach of their own service terms. I dont blame the driver at all, but the person in office with the condesending tone is unacceptable, I understand people have bad days. I worked retail for 6 years so I also understand sometimes you get a bad customer. However, as a company RS cannot have a bad day. I am still waiting for this issue to be resolved, but in lieu of scheduling a missed pickup, Im going to need compensated on my bill for one recycling day because the service was not provided.

Our garbage pick up is missed quite frequently and I spend 20min each time I call to get ahold of someone, two weeks ago I received a message stating our trash would not be picked up that week and with no explanation why and also no credits for having no trash service that week. I called today to cancel my service and was told I would have to pay $30 for them to come get my cart, which was not even part of the service in my area three years ago when we signed up and we had to purchase our own cans. Seems pretty wrong to be charged for services we did not receive on more than one occasion and also to charge $30 for a cart to be picked up. Save your time and do some research and find another company. I have filed a complaint with BBB and hopefully others will to.

I have had this company for my trash/recycling removal for not even 3 months. Within this time, I have had nothing but problems. After only a month, I decided I no longer wanted recycling. I called to have it removed & was told to have my recycling bin outside by 6am on a particular day. 3 weeks later & my bin had still not been picked up. When I called about it, they confirmed my address which was apparently entered into their system wrong. I was told when I first bought my house that they couldn’t just switch owners & I would pay a fee due to now being a new customer. I was also told that I would be billed every 3 months for my services. I paid my bill on 1/28/21 & received a bill in the mail today with an invoice date of 2/15/21 stating my bill was past due for 2/15/21. Upon removing recycling, the lady on the phone stated I would not be charged a fee for removing recycling but yet I owe $44 for the month of February for the recycling fee & past due balance. My question is how is my account past due on the same day as the invoice balance as well as just paying my bill less than 3 weeks ago!?!? This company is the WORST & I DO NOT recommend it to anyone!!!! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Recycling was picked up but not trash. This makes no sense, as recycling is bi-weekly but trash pickup is supposed to happen every week. Why arent your crews picking up trash like theyre supposed to? Being a customer to this company for many years lately they have horrible service never on time to pick up my trash . I have called them everyday for the past 2 weeks for someone to come empty my container and everyday they tell me my pick up is pending.After a few weeks we got our big container replaced with 4 regular container and now I have a bill for 306.36 please people stay away . Terrible customer service. I tried 4 times to get a hold of my local rep who, I assume does not work there anymore, to discuss my bill. Every time I call customer service says Sales supervisor will call me back and now its been 4 days and still no call back. They tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone. The last time I talked to my rep he said he locked me into a rate. Now my bill is $160 more than last time. If I could rate a 0 I would of.

Customer service is always really nice when I call. I asked for one trash can and one recycling to be delivered. I received 1 trash can on Thursday and a 2nd trash can on Friday. I called again and company was able to pick up the extra trash can and deliver recycling can I asked for. It took 4 weeks to straighten out but it was over Christmas/New Years so the delay is somewhat understandable. I also scheduled bulk pick up for the first time. I only had to give two days notice before pick up and everything put on curb was hauled away. I appreciate it!

I have them as my trash company because I live in Alton Illinois and they service the city. I called them on Tuesday February 16 ,2021 and was told my trash was still scheduled for pickup that day and they have not picked up now they say I have to wait another week with a full trash can and no way to get rid of anymore that I have in my house Im not pleased they could do better.

Never had any issues with them while I actually lived in IL, but I’ve been in Phoenix the last two years and despite countless calls to be removed from their contact lists, I still get spammed with automated calls every time a holiday comes around to let me know about delays in trash pickup. I have called multiple multiple times to get my number removed and they don’t do it. Pretty sure this violates anti spam laws.

As I had a customer in my lobby, the driver of the trash truck advises me that a car that was dropped off is too close to the dumpster, as I had to deal with my customer he takes a picture and leaves with no way for me to resolve the issue, my dumpster is full and needs to be emptied, so I call the company and was checking to see if there is a way to get it picked up today, now they want to charge for a special pick-up of $151.00, this company is not professional by any means, I informed them to cancel my service and get their dumpster, I will call another company.

This is possibly the worst company to deal with. If your can lid is slightly open they refuse to take saying it was grossly overloaded. Wait on hold to try and resolve and all they say sorry we cant do anything about it. Unfortunately I dont have a choice of waste companies its a city contract. Must be a great kickback to a politician if a company with a 2 star rating gets the city contract.

Absolutely the worst garbage company you can use. On more than one occasion had our entire neighborhood trash cans left broken and scattered across the street after trash day. some trash cans still filled with trash and now scattered about the street. We called and were told there is nothing they can do since we didnt see them do it. The next week after calling our trash was just dumped out on the ground. Probably due to a politician getting paid off its the only trash service in our city. Yall dont have any pride in your work and should just stop.

Countless times they have not picked up my trash or recycling. Busted wheels off my cans and left them there. Tonight I returned home from work to find one of my trash cans not even dumped but tossed across my driveway. This trash service is the only one available for me at my current address. And they are so bad at what they do that I genuinely consider moving just to have access to a competent trash service. I guess if you’re someone that hates working for a living but loves getting a paycheck this would be the employer for you.

Horrible, just horrible. Over 1 hour wait times to talk to anyone. They charge to bring you a can, they charge to pick up the can if you cancel service. Basically they do as little as possible to help and take as much money as possible. And good luck if you actually have a problem, customer service is rude and not helpful.... the drivers are nice though. That’s why I’m okay with 1 star review even though I can’t leave 0 stars.

I need a big trash pick up scheduled. I have called 5 separate times during the month of January and have sat on hold for 15-20 minutes or longer EACH TIME and no one ever answers. This is crazy! Short from driving up there (which I plan to do next week) there is no other way that I can figure out to contact yall so Im trying a review. Please give me a real person to call.

When I first moved to the area I was told this was the only trash company. I paid all the little fees of owning their trash and recycling cans, administration fees, they even make you pay for the gas while picking up your trash!! My bill went up consistently each time I was billed, and I don’t mean a few bucks. Then I canceled service after a year of rising cost on my one bag of trash a week. I asked them, do I prepay for service?? You sure do.. will there be a final bill or any cost for final pick up? No ma’am... got a notice of late payment including more fees and now a late fee, first I’d ever heard of a bill.. 70 dollars later they came to pick their cans up from my property. This company will just keep taking as much money as they can. You can recycle for free at Home Depot. Pick another trash company.

The CSR I was on the phone with was extremely rude and unprofessional. Made snide and rude remarks when I was giving him information for the account and made it seem like I was the one at fault when it was the company itself. Kept me on hold for 30 plus minutes. Too bad this is the only trash company in my area. Id love to use another company at this point. Nothing but issues with republic services.

One of 3 drivers on Wednesday 9-4-19 hit one of our cars with the forks of the truck. They did NOT stop, leave a note, or attempt to contact us. I called and spoke to CSR Robin who was unapologetic and rude. After speaking to a supervisor she assured she would have the info passed to the field manager. I simply wanted to file a complaint against the driver who failed to do their job.

Driver hadnt made it to my house yet I went in put my cans out and he watched me do so. He drove right past my house looking right at me. 10 minutes later the same guy drove past my house again leaving my cans again full to the top so now Im stuck with all this trash for a week Ive called 3 times and been left on hold this is absolutely ridiculous.

Just spend 35 minutes on hold because they missed my trash and recycling this morning and the lady that finally picked up the phone said I dont even know how you got this number, and hung up on me. I can recycle literally everything except plastic bags. If you call and tell them you have bulk items for pick up, they will give you a date within a couple days and come get it for a minimal charge, (free in some towns). I only take out my families trash on recycling days.

Trash was missed on Mon. Called Tues to reschedule the pickup for Wed and then again on Thurs. Still no pick up, so I called to talk with a supervisor and the rep left a note for Route Supervisor Chris to contact me. Its Friday....No contact and the trash is still on the curb.

After the first time to the city trash dump your trash man will become your best friend . Called to cancel our lawn waste service THREE times. Continued to receive bills, then late fees, then threats to send our account to collections. When I mentioned this to the incredibly incompetent woman who answers the phone at the Edwardsville address I was told, Oh we never send anything to collections and then the following day received a letter threatening just that. They frequently just completely forget to pick up trash at all. They refused trash once because it was too heavy to be picked up by their employees even though it had been carried to the curb by a 54 130 lb. woman (those must be the weakest garbage men in history). I dont know who they are related to or have dirt on in Glen Carbon but their service is the absolute worst and the village should be ASHAMED for contracting with them.

Horrible service: They nit-pick over everything - unless your trash bins are positioned perfectly they will not empty them! After a big storm we had a bunch of tree limbs, so I cut them up and put them out front, they were not too large as I spent quite a bit of time cutting them up. NOPE didnt take them! Yet over in Collinsville my friend had huge tree branches some nearly a foot in diameter and their local service took them, NOPE not Edwardsville, they have to in perfect neat piles and less than an inch.So I had to wait another week for them to pick up the limbs and FINALLY they did this time, however I watched the guy, and as he picked up the piles he dropped some limbs as he was carrying them to the truck, did he pick them up, NOPE, he just left them on the ground.Our taxes in Edwardsville are already the highest in the area and yet we have to deal with this mickey mouse stuff.

Picked up garbage but kept the garbage can. Have to wait 5 days for replacement. Now that it is raining, their employee was too lazy to put the lid back up and when I got home from work, there was 3 inches of water in the garbage can. I am going to transfer to Aspen. Most my neighbors now have Aspen.

They dont pick up my trash every week like they are suppose to. For 6 months they charged me (autopay) more than double my contracted amount and I talked to them 9 separate times to get my money refunded. It took three months of contact to actually get a credit back. I am not sure who is running the Edwardsville location but they are incredibly incompetent.
