I like the trainers here. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. Swimming pool has maximum depth of 5 ft with 5 lanes. I highly recommend Gary Newman for personal training sessions!!
My son learns swimming here. Excellent & clean.
Amazing facility! The people who work there are so friendly and accommodating! The facility is clean and they have everything you would need !! Motivating gym, never too crowded. I tell everyone I know to join!
I am member. This facility doesn’t full fill its basic cleanliness requirements and I am surprised it is health center. Very disappointing. I have seen many other messages like mine. What testimony and message does it conveys to the people joining JCC. Please pay attention to the facility. It only requires your commitment and will to serve.
Great place to do your exercise and build strength. Also, its a place for kids to have fun and learn community activities. You can also play different games like basketball, badminton, table tennis and other games.
The staff is too harsh and they always talk nonsense. They have morning slots available and they say that you can book more than 3 days consecutively and they asked me to leave. They didn’t inform me at the time of registration. They lady at the front desk Rosalia vina is so rude . She don’t even know how to talk to the members better YMCA have to give some training to such people. If you can’t maintain in a proper way better close everything and sit at home. What kind of staff you are maintaining at least realize now and take action on her. I cancelled my membership. there are no locker rooms and no shower open but still they charge more and even after paying more amount staff don’t even give respect.I suggest to avoid YMCA and better move to any other gym or pools.
Love going here. The weight room and cardio areas are well maintained, and are being cleaned regularly during Covid. Restrooms are clean with plenty of locker space. Used to send my kids for swim classes here as well, and liked it back then but havent used the pool for 3-4 years now. Staff is helpful and friendly. Used to go to the in-person Yoga classes with Sandy on Sundays regularly as well (but not recently since they have moved the classes to a virtual setting).
My kid has been taking her swimming lessons at YMCA Edison and loves every session. Shreya and the coaches are amazing and has now motivated me to start my swimming experience too. Covid safety measures have been fully followed and I find it safe to attend the swimming lessons. Thanks to YMCA for letting us use the facility with safety.
The best Yoga, Pilates, and Zumba classes are held just a few blocks from my house. Yes I am talking about YMCA Edison. BIG thanks to All the teachers, a place that truly promotes healthy fitness. Instructors are FAB for all levels. I appreciate the variety of online classes & the convenient times. I am so happy! I have been attending all classes here and really enjoy this environment. Staff and other practitioners are all friendly. Here they teach genuine yoga. I have seen yoga change a lot with the increased popularity of it and certain retailers coming on the scene. YMCA Yoga is not a competitive environment, it’s soft and welcoming the way yoga is supposed to be! Thank you for being true to yoga!! I have really loved all the classes which I am attending here! All the teachers have been wonderful! And YMCA offer so many classes and at so many times! Makes it easy for me to get there with a crazy schedule!!! Thank you!!!!”
Staff are friendly and always willing to help around in the fitness room/cardio room. The staff clean before and after using machines plus have optimal ventilation in each workout room!!
Wonderful facility! I was nervous about returning since the pandemic but the Edison Y is doing an amazing job at keeping everyone safe!
Excellent Service, Leon went above and beyond for my wife and kids!!
By far the best managed fitness center during these turbulent times of Covid. You can be certain they care for you and care for others and themselves.
Good place with adequate equipment. But gets very crowded over the weekdays with at least 10 min wait time for some equipment. Some front desk staff are very rude - zero smile - they just want you to get out of their face. Not sure what makes them feel superior
Nice swimming pool and gym. The swimming lessons are good. 3-4 table tennis tables. Though they are slightly crowded. Staff is nice and helpful.
They call this a YMCA, but it is also a JCC which shares the space.it is very clean with lots of facilities which include fitness equipment room with and adequate amount of equipment for everyone. In addition there is a large gym which has the normal gym equipment. Parking can be hard. I would recommend it
Very clean and well-run facility. Enjoyable place to work out. Lots of kids every day makes it a fun atmosphere.
Its a good establishment, however not great. Everything is fine, except for the pool. Every time I go, the pool is full of chlorine and is dirty. I once saw a ball of hair and snot floating around. They need to focus on cleaning the pool regularly, because it is never clean. At least in my experience. Swimming in the pool sometimes gets so gross and disgusting that I have to leave immediately. This is coming from a teenager who loves to swim and enjoys the water. I would come and swim regularly if the pool was more clean.
Good place to try to get big. sometimes p crowded ,so its hard to find machines to work with. Otherwise, actually pretty good.
Its ok , not so good and not so bad...in a swimming they should maintain better temperature considering winter. Also in Table tennis the balls are not in quantity so sometimes they take it back and we have to wait for some time . In basketball court lot of times some specific classes are going on so my child complains that there is no basket ball court available today. Overall dance Zomba class are great , my wife is really enjoying it . I am talking about Edison Branch . I am not rating considering other branches which might be more better ..
Good gym. Basketball court is nice. Just wish that they could combine weight training and gym. Thats a little weird.
YMCA here is spectacular! Has a gym inside it as well as a pool. They also have daily activities for children, teens and adults ranging from sports and exercise. Prices to join are extremely reasonable.
I enrolled my 4 years twins for summer camp at YMCA for just one week as their previous summer camp was closed for that week. My experience was extremely bad, there was no one to inform when you are dropping kids and no one is checking when you are picking kids. They were least bothered if kids has taken their meal on time or not. Out of 5 days, 3 days my kids came home without eating anything in lunch box. They are just playing whole time and not performing any activities as mentioned in brochures. Will definitely not recommend to anyone.
This is the best place to go for everything except the pool. They put a lot of chlorine and I mean a lot. But the rest of the place is fine.
Started exercising after a very very long time and enjoying it
Good community institution with fundraiser activities - some great group classes incl teachers to motivate and help for various levels and needs. Having cardio and other machines are helpful - though could use more cleaning overall.
Need to update showers but in all great place to be even if you wish to work away from office once in a while..
My experience of the summer camp is terrible. Some kid punched my kid on the mouth so hard that my kids tooth broke. The YMCA did not bother to call me or inform me and pretended not to know that I was not informed. Worse, my kid told me that the office staff saw that the tooth was broken - but they lied to me that they did not know that the tooth was broken! The most irresponsible and callous staff who have no business working with children.
Its a good gym but not worth the monthly fee
The programs available at this YMCA are innovative and fun! The staff is very helpful and courteous and the facility provides ample resources for working out for all skill levels, swimming, and child care; among many others.
Our organization uses their meeting roomsNicely setup and private
User of the ymca school aftercare program. The program is okay and affordable.
OUTSTANDING! Have nothing but great things to say about Edison YMCA Early Learning Center. Excellent tutors, play based and child directed curriculum, and friendly staff made our experience of transitioning my 3 year old son into school tremendously easy and incredibly effective. We were worried how my 3 year old would react to his first-day in school as it can be a challenging one, but to our pleasant surprise, it was quite a breeze I should say. My son went to Ms.Nazias class but really all staff are super cool (Ms.Fouzia, Ms.Durriya, Ms.Uzma, Mike, Melissa to name a few) and Jennifer Guthlein, the Director were really easy to work with. I was able to see positive changes in his behaviour and would highly recommend YMCA pre-school to anyone without a shallow of doubt.
Awesome community center with great facility. From gym to swimming pool to Pre-school.
Worse YMCA i seen in my life ever. Swim teacher not trained proper and making 5 yrs old kids scared please go any YMCA except edison oak tree rd this is the best advice for all parents whoever sending there kids for swim lessons.
The attendant at the front desk was very rude. She didnt want to help me, and I would understand if I was being rude to her but I always treat people with courtesy and respect. I was asking about a program and she gave me as little details as possible, so I left.
It is shared with jcc. Good for exercise , other family fitness activities but not for swimming. Lots of times, it is closed throughout the year.
Very good childcare facility, gym and community center
The gym and workout rooms are very nice. The classes in the multipurpose rooms are useful and the pool is alright.
I do not like the child cares services. Typically the people working in the child care area are always glued to their phones. Also, there is no bathroom inside of the care area so I do not understand how the one and only care giver could take your child to the bathroom while leaving behind the other children. My husband and I take turns working out and sitting in the play room. Also, this place is PACKED on weekday evenings! recommend Rahway YMCA because it is very quiet in the cardio room and few people in the weight room. Yes Edison weight room has more, but it’s a trade off. Also, there are no restrictions on use of equipment at Rahway when a trainer is training.
Busy place. Shared with JCC. Large gym. Pool is small as well but the weight room, cardio sections are well equipped.
Best place to work out, play sports, swim. Murray go to of youre living nearby
The really good place for exercising Fun swimming and playing basketball and ping pong
Love going here ... everyday. Equipments are good and staff very courteous.
Awful establishment. Administrators do not know what they are doing and that reflects onto the management as well. Very unorganized.
The gym is big and has lockers. The day care is well equipped, with pretty good teachers and a good curriculum. The pool is okay
Couldnt play table tennis because all tables were full and there were only three tables
I enjoyed the vibe and was greeted by a multicultural staff.
Very good for families, and you feel a sense of community.
I can give 5 *s for everything at Edison YMCA except the depth of swimming pools being less than 5.5 ft. With this max depth, it will be very difficult to learn treading water. I go to Metuchen YMCA to learn this technique.
Excellent place for total family workouts.
Would like to see them expand the weight room. Staff is great!
Nice place, has everything
Gym is really good and family membership is quite affordable.
Has all the equipment you need. Clean an spacious.
Best gym and better than nysc, colonia and having better offers than other gym.
It’s gas a decent enough gym but I wouldn’t recommend going in the pool as it is filthy
Up to date equipment....friendly staff cozy comfortable setting....
Dressing rooms are awful, the pools floors are nasty. everything besides the pool is decent
Good gym. Great place to work out. Has many classes like chakra yoga, scientific yoga, power yoga, Bhangra, Bollywood, Zumba too. Offers steam, sauna n swimming pool too
Great community, variety of activities to do.
Cheers classes are very good here.
Well equipped but not clean.
I go to this ymca very often. The younger staff are nice but the older staff are very rude and dont have any manners or patience. These are qualities you need considering you see people all the time in the y. Problems in the cardio room is that people dont clean after themselves. It is not appealing to see sweat all over the treadmills and handles on the ellipticals. In the pool the locker rooms are filthy. I cant even walk on the floors because it disgusts me that much. In the pool people (Asians and Indians usually) think that the lane is for themselves only.
Love their zumba instructors!
Great place other than the fact that the parking is extremely cramped up. Not enough room for an average SUV.
Nice, but front desk woman should be friendly. She doesnt even smile, looks like she is miserable coming to work and not helpful.
Good Facility and excellent price
Great place full of activities
Im a YMCA member and this location is the worst place. The pool is over crowded. changing room are filthy. On the changing room floor there are water that dont flow with lots of dirt. Disgusting !!!Please understand that i dont have anything against different ethnics but it really bothers me when most of same ethnic people dont concern about others. People who use this pool (specially Asins) have no respect for other patrons. I have seen few people showing their frustration. Usually they use a whole lane to them self thinking they are the only ones who paid membership. Usually there are 2 lanes opened for lap swimmers (rest of 4 lanes are for kids and non-lap swimmers) and sometimes adults bring their kids who cannot swim to lap lanes and start giving lessons having no concern for other swimmers. There are Indins also using this place but they have better courtesy. Also this place have some weird hours. Saturday morning almost is closed for lessons and then they close the place at 5 on weekends.Sometimes I use Woodbridge center pool (can use once a week with your Edison/Woodbridge YMCA membership). The majority is White and Indins and the place is clean and well kept. The people using the place is more courteous. So if you prefer to get a YMCA membership, ignore this place and get from somewhere else.
Family, community oriented non profit.
Trainers for group classes are very gud. Too crowded.
Good place, but very crowded..
Excellent, people are very friendly and helpful
Poorly run. The staff is excellent, the management poor.
I love the equipment and machines
Good place with lots of fitness options
Very nice place
I love being in this ymca.
Place serves purpose, staff are helpful
Gym equipment, after school care, dance and art classes, pool, basketball court
Best and nice.....
Great place for swimming and exercising
Mingle meet make friends 👫 while pushing your muscles
My son has swimming lessons here. He is an infant but it seems as though the coaches are not sure what to do with them
Best swimming lessons and pool, also with a gym for exercise. It is also at a very low rate for a family.
The camps are horrible there, and the lead counselor Merium all ways harasses the kids there
Good recreational area
Nice but very crowded.
Worst run Y smelly crowded lack of coat hanging place, dark stay away
Long waiting time.. congested...
Good classes
Good community center
Good place to sweat
Great Swim lessons
Always crowded but its family workout place .. check the schedules for badminton and ping pong.
Have been a member for 10 years. We are cancelling our membership as this place has become extremely busy in the last 12 months. It is now poorly managed.
