Honestly, I dont even know where to begin. Jean has been wonderful and she has done so much for me. She went above and beyond to help me in a time of my crisis. Not only did she alter my dresses to perfection, but she also lended a listening ear. I received my dresses from Davids bridal. However, Davids bridal told me it would be $800 for just one dress alteration. I have two different dresses for my wedding, and the cost of the alteration at Davids bridal would have been more than my dresses. Jean provided excellent thorough assistance, but also had a very reasonable price. I have heard so many good things about Jean that I paid her up front. She did not disappoint with her work, and she communicated throughout the entire process and got me my dresses in a timely fashionI am so excited to wear my wedding dresses for my day! I couldn’t recommend this place enough!! Jean did an amazing job on my dress. This is the first time I have ever had a dress altered and to say I was nervous would be an understatement. When I purchased my bridesmaids dress the sales women recommended I go up in a size. After I got the dress, the wedding I was in ended up being postponed because of Covid for a year. Fast forward to now and I was stuck with a dress I was drowning in and had lace sleeves that looked more like wings. After Jean worked her magic, my dress is now completely fitted to my body perfectly (including the all lace sleeves that scared me the most to have taken in due to the material and buttons) and she used her extensive knowledge to make recommendations that made the dress compliment me/the fit of the dress best while accenting my favorite parts of it. I will be using her for all my alterations going forward and hope you do the same!

I needed a satin gown altered for a wedding. The owner did an outstanding job and I thought the cost was very reasonable. She was very quick with response and the actual alteration.

I messaged Jean on 5/27 asking about altering my dresses as she posts on her website her cell phone number and email. I stated in my text message the date I would need the dresses by. Because she never responded to me, I sent her an email inquiry with that same information. Jean never got back to me on when I could bring my dresses in and when I messaged her asking why she never responded, she told me she had no idea what I was talking about. When I sent her screen shots of our conversations, she then gave me the rudest response. Instead of owning up to her rudeness and the fact that she was wrong, she blocked me instead. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

She comes off as a little abrasive over the phone, but in person is very nice and efficient! Will use Eau Claire Alteration again

Jean was great! I had gotten alterations done at sew qick sewing, they messed up the corset on my daughters prom dress and the sides where they took it in were all messed up! Jean, at no charge took a look to help fix the dress and figured out what they did wrong! We will definitely be coming back to her!

Jean did a great job with tailoring my dress pants. I gave her the date for when I needed to pick them up (which was just under a month from dropping them off) and she called me back 3 days later and said they were finished. I was very pleased with the work that she did and in such a timely manner. The price was very reasonable also. I highly recommend Jean for your alteration needs. Jean is such an incredibly talented seamstress! For the 2nd year in a row, I’ve had the honor to participate in the local Trunk or Treat event at Eau Claire Ford Lincoln Quick Lane. Last year, Jean created a gorgeous tulle skirt for my witch costume, and this year she took the cake when she created the most beautiful mermaid tail/skirt for myself and a colleague. Jean had altered at least three formal dresses for my daughter and me, and they have always been well-done. She is very talented and some of the alterations were a bit tricky (in my opinion). She needs a bit of time for most things I had her alter, but her work is extremely good. I would definitely recommend her work.

This tailor is a real gem. Jean was so wonderful and truly helped me in a pinch! I was referred to Eau Claire Alterations by someone who goes to Jean for formal dress alterations. My wedding dress had been badly damaged by a previous seamstress, so Jean met with me to assess the dress and was able to whip up some magic and remedy the major areas over night! She was super knowledgeable and experienced with the types of delicate fabrics of my dress. I couldnt recommend her more!

I contacted Jean on 11/13/2018 via her website, filling out the sections and leaving a message as directed. I received a generic e-mail reply within a minute that included, I will be in touch soon!. Two days later and no e-mail from Jean. I walked into K Alteration Shop without an appointment, and she gladly accepted my business. She stopped what she was doing and performed the fitting since I had the formal dress with me. Take your hard earned money to someone other than Jean.

Jean is very skilled and reasonably priced. I take all my alterations to her. She was great about getting one item done right away as I had an immediate need for it.

I recently moved to the area and needed a tailor for a bridesmaid dress. After I found some positive reviews on her website, I contacted Jean after hours to request my appointment, and to my surprise she answered and was able to work with my schedule. For my experience with the dress, Jean was wonderful to work with. She fitted me and had the dress complete in one week! To my surprise, even though we found the dress still needed more alterations, Jean guarantees her work and was super-fast! She had the dress done in the next day and it fits me like a glove. By far the best experience I have had with a tailor. I highly recommend seeing Jean for your needs!

Emailed Jean first, asking for an easy alter to a dress. I gave all details along with the date I would need it by. She replied and said to give her a call to make an appointment. When I called her, she very rudely told me that she couldn’t do it, just when telling her again when the date I would need it by. If you couldn’t that is fine since it is 3 weeks away. But don’t say one thing in an email and then be suprised when I do in fact call for an appointment

So knowledgeable & done with such quality craftsmanship & we couldn’t believe how fast she got it done!!! She’s amazing!!!

Jean was fantastic! I needed alterations on a bridesmaid dress and was in a bit of a time crunch. She worked around my schedule for my fittings and was extremely flexible which made it easy to find time while I was working crazy holiday retail hours. Additionally, I brought along an old vintage leather jacket thats been handed down a few generations in my boyfriends family. He had broken the zipper and was so disappointed to not be able to wear it anymore. I asked Jean if by small chance shed be able to fix it. She fixed it right then and there for me, complimentary! It was amazing! Highly recommend her to anyone in the area.

Jean waited until 2 WEEKS prior to my wedding to tell me she couldnt hem my dress....she had the dress for 3 MONTHS.I contacted Jean this past spring to have my wedding dress altered. We agreed for me to come in on June 30, 2018. I arrived at the agreed upon 10am with my maid of honor. Jean opened the door and told us she was just about to leave. I mentioned we had an appointment and she allowed us in but was completely rude to us (almost) the entire time. During the appointment she was extremely curt and rude to my MOH and I. My Mom came a little bit later and once Jean realized they are distant neighbors (they both hear the same annoying rooster) she changed her tune and became very nice. During the pinning she kept looking at the hem and trying to figure out how she was going to shorten it (she mentioned it is a complex process that will take a little while). But she seemed confident that she knew what she was doing. Before leaving she wrote down my wedding date on a card and put it into the pocket of the carrying bag the dress came in.Fast forward to August..I sent her a text message and asked her how my dress was coming along. She stated that she was going to be on vacation until (around) September 15 and she would do it then. I thought that was cutting it close but, maybe, I was just being a nervous bride? She is supposed to be the professional, after all. She told me it would be ready the end of September.Fast forward to yesterday..I sent a text asking when we could do the final fitting. She called me and told me she cannot hem it. She said there were two options. One was that she could get some lace and wrap it around. I did not want that as it is very hard to match lace. She agreed because its very hard to match white (this is obviously not an option then). Then she was talking about cutting part of the dress. Or I could get heels that are another 2 inches tall (Im not wearing 4-5 inch heels on my wedding day). I told her I would think about it and call her back.Later on yesterday I sent her a text message telling her I would pick it up that night.I arrived at her house and she showed me THE EXACT SAME THING she was looking at the first time. I told her that is what she was looking at in June and she agreed and just repeated what she already told me. Then all she said, in an insincere voice, was Sorry. I grabbed my dress and left.She had THREE MONTHS to work on my dress. THREE MONTHS!! But she waited until 2 WEEKS prior to my wedding day to tell me she cannot hem it. This was a COMPLETELY unnecessary stress. There was PLENTY of time for her to tell me she couldnt, or would rather not, hem the dress. I would never recommend Jean. This is completely unreliable and, as I said, could have EASILY been avoided.
