Our daughter had a great experience--raised her scores well-beyond what was anticipated. Their method is quite effective. They spent the time to definitively figure out which test was best for her (ACT, rather than SAT), then she got to pick her tutors from detailed resumes of their large stable of accomplished tutors. The lines of communication with each tutor were clear and transparent to us, as parents--we were copied on all texts about scheduling and got progress reports about areas where she needed to focus and when she was missing homework. Jump Start was perfect for my daughter. We were matched with appropriate, flexible and available (in line with our schedule) tutors for ELA and for math to prep for her high school entrance exam (ISEE). We made weekly appointments via group texts, she had structured homework to do on her own and she made tremendous progress, particularly in math. My daughter did very well on her exams, and she got into her first choice private high school in NYC and was offered a fantastic scholarship. Matt, the owner, checked in with me personally and frequently to assess my daughters progress and to ensure we were happy and on track. Once you go there everything is organized tidy and high-tech. There is a wide variety of technology and material available for students to better their scores. I especially love the snacks :)

Their process allows you very quickly to identify the best test, SAT vs. ACT and then a focused plan is developed. My son went up a SUBSTANTIAL number, not on his own, but with the dedicated help of Abhik and Ted his tutors. They met weekly, gave him homework, and made sure he understood the work. Their schedules are ideal for a HS student who has an unpredictable schedule, late nights and weeks are always available for tutoring. They dont over promise but they definitely over delivered! Jumpstart tutoring was a great help in tutoring my daughter in English and Math to prepare for the ACT exam. Jump Start Tutoring helped my son all thru High School and preparing for the SAT/ACT exams. They were recommeded by staff from the school district so I knew that I was going to the right place. We had a meeting at the start of the process to understand the concerns, any struggles, provided a game plan that was all agreed upon. The tutoring staff was matched up to ensure they worked well with my son in order to provide a good experience and ensure that expectations were met. A summary was provided to me on a regular basis. Their SAT/ACT preparation has developed extensively over the years and I have recommended them to many including family. I would highly recommend them.

Matt has a very large number of tutors available so my son was able to match up perfectly with the right ones. Jump Start Tutoring has been a positive learning experience for my son. He met with excellent tutors, Marc and Arthur, twice a week for SAT review. I highly recommend Jump Start Tutoring above any other group out there who promises to prepare your child for their SATs or ACTs. This is an incredibly professional organization of individuals who are not only deep experts in functional areas, techniques on how to prepare for these tests but more importantly they genuinely care about the students and the parents. I had unprompted extensive reviews on a regular basis from our tutors in terms of what my daughter was doing well and where she needed to still improve; any time she attended a practice test, I had a call from Matt Warshay (the owner) who would provide us with results and we would discuss the next steps. However, what I deeply appreciated is that when as a parent I was reminded to lay-off sometimes and not get so anxious. My daughter started out with a 24 when she came into Jump Start Tutoring and she ended up with a 30 and just received an acceptance to Tulane (her first choice school). We could not have done this without our friends at Jump Start Tutoring.In addition, if I can mention, their overall tutoring program in any subject matter is also outstanding. Great snacks ... luv that the pretzels are fresh!and... Mike (Ringwald) has been able to get thru to JoeJoe in a way that his current teacher does not. When we walk out of JST he’s so animated about how happy he is that he really CAN understand the work. We had a wonderful experience at Jumpstart Tutoring. Matt helped my daughter Christina determine which test was right for her and outlined a plan to help her succeed. She felt so comfortable and welcome at Jumpstart. Her tutors Anne Marie and Zana were very knowledgeable, provided frequent updates regarding her progress, and encouraged her to do her best. The practice tests offered on the weekend were a great way for her to improve her confidence and skills and see which areas she needed to focus on.
