Everyone on stratos is still on it because we cant get anything better. If you can get anything that isnt stratos, do that instead. Theyre slow on a good day and every time the weather is the least bit bad, service goes out.

We have been using Stratos over a year now and we are very pleased with the service. They have been very helpful if a problem does occur. Overall great people and fast internet.

If possible, I highly recommend staying away from this provider. We receive less than 10% of the speeds they promise. Its very rare we see anything above 1mbps, with speeds averaging 500-700kbps (we are paying for 10mbps). This isnt even enough to stream the lowest quality without constant video buffering. It can take up to 30 minutes to load webpages. Paying our bills using the network is all but impossible some days, and have to resort to using our mobile service. All attempts to reach out result in excuses and false promises. Terrible service. Terrible quality.

I have had stratos internet for about 8 months. It is not reliable. They don’t have a support staff after 5pm. My wife is a physician and because of the itmes we are living in, needs to do video patient visits. My internet went out at 6:30 last night and after 14 hours later still no internet. I live 2 miles from one of their towers. I have lost internet at least a dozen times since i have had the service. I’m thinking I have to go back to satellite internet because, it’s reliable.

This is the most unreliable internet I have ever had the displeasure of using. I sometimes wonder what I did in a past life to deserve such a horrible connection speed.

Id like to give a better review but I simply can not. My reason for 2 stars is the customer service attempts to be helpful when they are available. Very friendly and try to help. The reason for the low rating is the service itself. Its garbage. I moved from the suburbs where I had charter 100mbps. I opted for stratos because thats all I could get out in the country with unlimited data so my wife can stream Netflix. Pffffft. Thats a joke. Ive had stratos now for almost 6 months and Ive had issues with the service at least2-3 times a month. We will loose service for days at a time. We will be watching Netflix and it will just drop out and when I do a speed test when its running I get around 1mbps download and almost nothing upload speed. On a great day I get 5-6mbps download and 1-2 upload and I pay $55/month for supposed 10mbps. Ive never seen 10mbps speed. Its frustrating coming from 100mbps to almost nothing and paying the same amount. They really need to give bill credits when you go for days without service. They even replaced my receiver with no benefit. I hope cable internet makes its way to my area soon. Im about ready to pay for another service thats not unlimited just so I can actually get service. I write this review on a Sunday night as I sit and have my Netflix tell me I have no internet. So Im again using up my mobile data just to write a review about how my home internet is the worst thing ever. I have a friend thats actually going to try your services against my recommendation Hopefully he has better luck. *Edit, 4-30 I have been told that Sprint has put up new towers that interfere with the signal so now I have no service at all. I will have to cancel and find something else.

Im only providing one star because thats the only way I can actually leave a review. The internet isnt great at all but thats because we were spoiled by Acentek. We moved out in the country so we were limited on choices. After my experience with an unauthorized charge on my account and the nonchalant manner of the customer service representative. I am taking my business somewhere else. Blaming a fired employee but not willing to help the customer who was overcharged isnt good Customer Service at all. Be careful folks just because they offer a service doesnt mean its a good one.

Going on a week without a reliable connection. Sad.

Ive been using Stratos for over a year and this is what I have to say:I use Stratos 10mb/s speed internet. If a wired internet service is not available, buy from a satellite ISP instead. The only reason you would want this kind of internet is if latency is important to you and wired ISPs are not an option.I play online games on Stratos networks internet every day. (At least I attempt to play) 10mb/s is just not enough. The latency for online games is low enough with no other people using the network. (about 80ms - 90ms to eastern US located servers though even then it fluctuates more than Id like) However, if one other person is streaming or downloading data its pretty much impossible to play online games. With one other user, the latency is 140ms - 300ms instead of 90ms, and thats just on an average day. Some days the ping will go into the thousands. If you do not plan on ever playing online games, ping probably wont affect you. Regardless Id still suggest getting satellite service instead for higher speeds.Summary:1. Download speed is very low for todays standards. Not good for 2+ people.2. Latency is barely good enough for gaming under perfect circumstances. Fluctuations of ~20ms ping still cause frustration daily. Any extra network traffic will cause lag.3. Connection reliability is decent most days though still poor compared to a wired ISP.
