My 12 year old daughter has been speaking to Michelle Glaser. She really enjoys talking to her and looks forward to their sessions. My daughter has been going through some emotional tough times and Michelle has been able to get through her and keep her stable.Michelle really cares about her patients, and most of all when they are really young. She also encourages family sessions and this really helps to understand more. I do see an improvement in my daughter today and im very pleased with Michelle. I highly recommend her to anyone. I started working with Michele Glaser in January 2021 and did not want to go to therapy, feeling my mom was forcing me. Michele was patient with me and went at my pace. We shared similar likes and thats when I started to trust her. She always said that she would be available 24/7 but I never used it because I did not want to bother her but then she would reach out to me and I got more comfortable reaching out to her and now she is definitely been so helpful to me and I truly appreciate all she has done to help me and not make me hate therapy.

I began having sessions twice a week with Janet in June of this year and I can confidently say that my anxiety and depression levels have gone down significantly since seeing her! Her method is super unique and effective for me. Weve worked on everything from boundary setting to helpful tools for coping with anxiety and depression. Janet is thoughtful and you can tell that she really cares about her patients. Not only do I love Janet, but Sunrise Counseling also makes it extremely easy to sign up as a new patient and complete weekly payments. 100% worth the investment!!

Going into therapy, I was very scared that I wouldn’t find someone that fit exactly right for me, because it took a long time for me and my family to find someone, but my therapist Laura Arlin is more amazing than I could’ve ever even una gained! I leave every session with her learning something new about myself. She’s caring & kind but brutally honest and gave me tools to help with my anxiety and comforted me. She’s the best! ❤️

Definitely a very professional place. The people there are all kind and very attentive toward your needs. I love my therapist there. I have nothing but good things to say about sunrise counseling center. First I want to start off with the receptionist; they are ALWAYS willing to help. Super friendly and do go our of their way. Second, Angelo is a counselor there and always goes the extra mile to help. He puts things into great perspective, and really helps you get to the root cause and then gives great direction in how to grow from them! Highly recommend!!!!!

Finding a therapist that actually cares about his patients is so hard to find. I’ve been seeing Angelo for about 5 months so far and I’ve never been happier. After every visit I can just feel the weight lifted of my shoulders and I have more personal growth weekly. He’s a great therapist and he truly cares about his patients. Are very nice until something goes wrong. Then they will refer you to Suffolk County Mental Health! If your experiencing mental health problems stay away from this place!

I have been treated by Gene Brooks since 2014. He is one of the kindest therapists I have ever had the honor of knowing!(not that ive had many...lol). Gene has been there for me through some VERY ROUGH personal experiences over the years. Hes ALWAYS there for me. When he didnt have an immediate solution for therapy direction he always figured something new to try, or has a different suggestion for us to tackle the problem. Yet, Gene is always consistent with keeping me on an active course of problem solving. Gene is an empathetic, sympathetic, compassionate and wise gentleman. I am grateful to have him as a therapist, and thankful for his staunch approach of never allowing me to wallow in despair or ever letting down his guard when it comes to reassuring me that I matter to him! I started sunrise counseling after a series of unfortunate events, left me with severe anxiety and OCD about my relationship with my boyfriend. I was recommended Janet and we clicked right away. She is a great listener and is really encouraging, I have only been there a couple of months but have noticed a huge change in my personality! Janet is super easy to get along with and genuinely wants to see her patients improve and retake control of their lives. Shes the best!

I’ve been going to Sunrise Counseling and seeing Stephanie, A for 2 and a half years. When I first started I wasn’t really sure what to expect or if therapy was for me but talking to Stephanie has had a tremendously positive impact on my life. From the small day to day problems that I was struggling with to the major ones, Stephanie has always helped me tackle them head on along the way and she has continued to improve my life in a major way day in and day out. Whether it be just improving my relationships with people, doing better at work, dealing with anxiety, being more assertive or doing things I never believed was possible plus many many more. Also, my mental health and quality of life is much better then it was two and a half years ago and I’m very thankful that I’m able to work with Stephanie and the rest of the staff at Sunrise Counseling.

The office manager is very personable and understands the needs of the clientele. Very helpful and works hard to ensure clients’ needs are met. The mental health care workers are great at what they do and I would recommend this center to anyone struggling with mental health issues.

Sunrise Counseling has been great. Ive gone through many different mental health centers and couldnt find one that worked until a friend recommended me to check out Sunrise Counseling Center. Ive been seeing their therapists for a while now and slowly Ive begun to see the positive impact it has been having. I highly recommend seeing Sally R. Mcdonald, she is a kind, great therapist who cares about her clients and is extremely knowledgeable.

I waited 3 months for an appointment to be seen to get medications after my last doctor ignored my concerns. Get a call the day of that I have an hour to fix the issue on my paperwork or theyre cancelling my appointment.... by the time I saw the VM the appointment was cancelled. Very unprofessional and now I will be without my necessary meds

New to their services, which have truly exceeded my expectations. My experience has been excellent so far. I highly recommend Michele Glaser as a therapist. This counseling center is amazing!! I have been going here for years and I see Stephanie F. She is incredible at giving healthy coping mechanisms and has helped my mental health improve dramatically, as well as being an attentive and genuine listener. I have been going to sunrise counseling center for more than 4 years now. I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder with panic attacks and depression many years ago and I have been to many therapists throughout the years. But when I found Bill Meritet it was the first time that I have found a therapist I truly connected with. Bill has given me so many tools that help me deal with my anxiety on a daily basis, I appreciate his empathy, his listening skills and the love he puts into helping me to better my life.

If I could give a minus zero, I would. I started seeing Dr. Naviqui and had to switch (it’s been years ago so I forget why). I started seeing Dr. Peter Luke and for several years he was wonderful. Come this March an issue arose with my meds and he was unwilling to help me. As a result I went thru withdrawal. It happened again last month when he didn’t prescribe me enough to last the month. It’s happening again today. I’m in the process of looking for another psych dr but it takes time. I also started to see a therapist at this site but I had to quit after two visits because all she did was talk about herself. Trying to get the office staff to stop billing me and start using my insurance is an ongoing issue.

I’ve been using Sunrise Counseling for about 5 years now. My therapist Rich Maiorella is fantastic! I could go into my appointment feeling anxious or upset, and leave feeling calm and relaxed. He takes the time to listen when I’m venting, and helps me get through my struggles. When I’m depressed he makes me feel better about my life. Rich see’s good when I see bad and makes me realize things aren’t as bad as they may seem. I would recommend Sunrise Counseling and Rich Maiorella to anyone who may be struggling.

I have been a client for nearly 3 years. I have had a great experience with my therapist Bill Meritet, Dr. Mroz for medication, and all of the office staff.

Please do not go here. They can care less for the patients. They rescheduled my husband 3 times, when he was in desperate need of an appointment.They didn’t schedule my appointment and then said that it was my fault. My medication was ending and they don’t care of what is going to happen, and don’t assume responsibility for their mistakes.The girls that answer the phone are terrible, once I had one girl ask me to call back because it was already 6:05 and she leaves at 6pm. Mind you that you call them and they never answer the phone, you always have to leave a message.Very disappointing specially when dealing with people with mental health issues.UnprofessionalStay away from sunrise counseling

My daughter sees Stephanie A. for talk therapy and what a big help shes been! Stephanie is kind and patient and knows how to work well with teenagers. The staff at the office is equally as wonderful. They are friendly and always willing to help. I would definitely recommend Sunrise Counseling Center to anyone in need of someone to talk to.

The nurse practitioner (Rose Luke) who prescribes my medications is empathetic and a good listener. I believe that she has accurately assessed my mental health issues and addressed them well. She is open & non judgmental & genuinely caring. I have been able to schedule appointments with her with no problem, and she has responded to me during off hours in the rare instances when I needed her help.Shes really worked hard on my behalf to get past barriers with my insurance company so that I can get my medication in the time frame needed. I feel confident that she is taking good care of me. Additionally I find the office staff to be competent & professional & efficient. They are patient & understanding & helpful. I am very happy that I found this center and would recommend it 150% to family/friends seeking mental health care. It is truly A+.

This place is by far the worst. if i can give 0 stars i would. the reception people never answer the phones. i’m switching my place. this place gives me more stress than i already have. they are so irresponsible. i wait up to over an hour even tho i had an appointment. ridiculous.

The women in the office never forward messages to my doctor, especially during emergencies involving my medication and emergency hospital visits. Definitely looking for a new office ASAP. I cant believe a place like this stays in business somehow. Definitely taking advantage of the sick.

I want to give credit where credit is due. I have been going to sunrise counseling center for years. The staff and Drs have been nothing short of amazing. They have been Very flexible and accommodating any time I had to schedule or reschedule my appointments. Any time I had a question or problem with a pharmacy or prior authorization they were so on top of it and were great with keeping me in the loop. I value this in a medical practice of any kind. I’ve delt with offices where issues arise and when you call the office you get treated like you did something wrong and the staff just seemed annoyed and get very nasty. This isn’t the case at SunriseCounseling center. If you are someone who reads reviews like me, don’t pay attention to the bad reviews most likely a hostile individual who just wants medication and thinks Doctors should give them what they want when they want and as much of it as they want.My stepdaughter also gets seen and I have to say I liked that they didnt jump straight to medication and really worked closely with her to find what worked for her. I highly recommend this practice .

I’ve had many therapists over the years and none have come close to comparing to Deborah at Sunrise Counseling. I’ve learned that no therapist has ever pushed me further than talk therapy when I’ve needed trauma-focused therapy. This revelation has truly been life changing.Additionally, the front office staff is always very pleasant. The reason I’ve deducted one star is due to the cleanliness of the waiting room; it’s quite off-putting. Most of the seats have suspicious stains and there’s a hard to identify mildly unpleasant smell.

The first day I went in to meet Cindy I was nervous and didn’t know what to do or say, I had never went to a therapist before but as soon as she asked me the reason for my visit. I opened up to her like if I knew Cindy for years she listened to me and we both talk on how I would move on and be calm.She is so nice and caring.I definitely would recommend Cindy and Rosemary as a Physiologist very sweet lady also listens to you.They are all nice in the office.Thank you so much for your support Rosemary and Cindy.

The person I see Allison Clark, NP has saved my life. She found what worked for me. We check in and I let her know of any changes. I am an adult who just never seemed to get my stuff together. I was unable to do the things I wanted and I couldn’t be successful. It was so disheartening because I was trying so hard. Allison helped me figure out a regimen where I don’t feel unlike myself. I’ve tried numerous medications all of which made me feel very out of it. For the first time in my whole life I feel like I can work, do school, I’m more organized. I was switching between bags (I have 100,000) and was without my medication for a week. It was such a difference. I’m a little sad my issues weren’t addressed as a child but I feel like I can have a life I wanted now. Thank you Allison! I don’t mean to be mushy but sometimes I’ll be in the middle of a work day and look at everything I was able to accomplish and not feel anxious or out of it. I didn’t know that was even possible. You have to try a few things to really find what works for you. I was so close to giving up I’m so happy I didn’t!!! There’s a stigma for sure along with certain diagnosis’s but I just have to think back to a year ago versus now. The difference is insane. I recommend this place to everyone. I never felt like anything was pushed on me. Allison listens to me. After the rough week I had I knew my appointment with Allison would calm me down. I’m so grateful to have a provider like her! I am a 50 year old woman who has had severe trauma throughout my childhood. Having been to many different therapists throughout the years I will tell you this - when it comes to your mental health and seeing a therapist - GOOD IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Mediocre is not good enough. You NEED and DESERVE the very best care. You need a therapist that is skilled to the level of connecting the dots for you sooner than later. It was not until I met Richard Scheinberg that I started to heal. Even after just my first session with him where he gave me almost two hours of his time, I felt hope for the first time. Richard placed me in a group and I also see him one on one. After just a few months I cant even put into words how much I have healed. Without this group and without meeting Richard, the Owner and Director of Sunrise Counseling Center, I do not know what direction my life would have gone in, but I can say that it would not have been a good one. I am so fortunate.

I find myself constantly having to beg for an appointment to get maintenance medication. They don’t answer telephone messages, receptionist messages or emails. Lack of concern for patients care or medication continuity. Very disappointed in their care and services.

I made an appointment for the first time, after having a bad experience with another center, they just were too young for my needs. This place said over the phone that they specialized in filling medications. I was thrilled. I suffer from depression and anxiety. I needed to see someone ASAP as I was running very low on my depression medication and just about everyone else does not take my insurance. This place assured me that Id love Dr. Naqvi.I get into see him and right off the bat he starts questioning me as to why I am depressed. After I explained, and was interrupted repeatedly, he asked where I was getting my medications and why I stopped going to the other center. When I explained to him that they were not a good match, he snapped at me and told me that he REFUSED to fill my medication, and I needed to go back to them and get my medication there or go to my primary doctor and ask if he will fill them. My primary doctor does not fill these types of medications anymore, once I started therapy at the other center.Dr. Naqvi made me feel as though I was there for just drugs, when I clearly told him I have depression and suffer from severe panic attacks since 1994! I was diagnosed with panic and anxiety disorder back then.He then proceeded to just say, You need to leave, I will not bill you, you need to leave, I will not help you. I told him that the girls at the front desk told me on the phone that this office specializes in dispensing medication and told them my history of the other center I went to, and all that happened as to why I left there, and he only kept saying that I need to leave and he would not help me, and not bill me, to just leave. He became irate and almost angry.I told him, that I could not believe he was treating a patient like this, and that I drove 20 miles to be treated like this??As soon as I got in my car I called my primary doctor and have an appointment for tomorrow to see if he will help me. This is serious as a patient cannot just STOP taking medication for depression cold turkey.HE SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS LINE OF WORK, THIS IS THE WORST DR I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY LIFE!! THIS PLACE IS ALSO VERY DIRTY AND LOOKS LIKE A CLINIC THAT IS FALLING APART! IT HAS AN ODOR OF STALE AND DIRTY MUSTY AIR IN THE RECEPTION AREA AS WELL.BUT, WORST OF ALL, THIS DR SHOULD NOT EVEN BE DEALING WITH PATIENTS THAT COME TO HIM FOR HELP AND RELIEF FOR THEIR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. I FEEL AS IF I SHOULD CALL AND REPORT HIM FOR UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR TOWARDS PATIENTS AND FALSE PROMISES OF HELP!DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU NEED HELP AND MEDICATION! THEY ARE LIARS!!! I AM NOT A DRUG ADDICT LOOKING FOR FREE MEDICATIONS, I AM A 58 YEAR OLD EDUCATED WOMAN, THAT IS JUST SEEKING HELP WITH MY DEPRESSION AND PANIC ATTACKS. AND DO NOT DESERVE TO BE TREATED THIS WAY!!!

Sunrise Counseling Center is truly a disgusting business. From staff and billing, all the way to “upper management”, the entire office is a seeping cesspool. I’ve never seen such conniving practices carried out in a medical office before. Administration is a joke and run by unqualified, uneducated airheads that were given some authority for once in their life. If you’re thinking about becoming a patient here...run. If you’re thinking about applying for a job here...run. This sorry excuse for a medical facility disgraces psychology as a legitimate medical science as well as the medical field at large.

I’ve been bring my son there to see Richard P for counseling and I find that he’s personable, relatable and very careful with dealing with my son. However, although careful with my son, he challenges his thinking and doesn’t allow him an easy way out of conversation. I’m satisfied with our progress this far.

I can never get through to anyone on the phone and no one has ever returned my messages. They make it impossible to get through to make an appointment with your doctor. I had to call my primary care doctor and have them reach out before I ever heard from these people. I dont understand how a doctors office can handle peoples mental health and their medications and not care enough to even pick up a phone.

If i could give 10 stars i would. Dr. Naqvi and the office workers are always pleasant and understanding, they always confirm my appointments and return my calls promptly. Dr. Naqvi ALWAYS leaves me with a piece of knowledge or encouragement to help me better navigate myself. Three years ago when i first started seeing him, i wouldnt even recognize that girl today! Im so grateful and reccomend him to anyone.

Extremely long wait and doctors overbook frequently/are often running late. Prior authorization ignores your calls and Ive been given empty promises that theyll get back to me within a day or two many times. On a lighter note, the rest of the administrative staff is great. Theyre very kind and really try to be helpful. Go somewhere else where the doctors and upper management value your time and wont have you waiting over an hour to be seen for a 10 minute visit.

I can get the same medicine from my general doctor now and thank god. This has to be the worse billing dept I have ever dealt with. I leave my last appointment with 0 balance and return to my next appointment with a 105 balance 3 months later. Then wont let see the doctor till i pay the balance i didnt know about. I offered to pay $90, everything in my wallet and still turned away. I see him for less then 3 minutes to renew my script. Im writing this as the billing manager is talking AT me. She been rambling on for 3 minute non-stop. I was tired of her cutting me off telling how its all my fault

The secretary for Dr. Quireshi needs to be replaced. Not only is she rude to patients, she refuses to deliver important messages to the doctor and lies and says she does, which has caused myself and my family even greater distress in emergency situations on multiple occasions. I see Dr. Quireshi with my girlfriend and we have had back to back appointments for years. The last time I had an appointment she tried to schedule it and the woman at the desk told her on the phone that the doctor said there’s no time and she can’t come in knowing full well she was out of her medication. When I saw the doctor he asked me why she wasn’t with me and was not happy about this inconvenience for all of us. This was especially horrible because we are not able to drive right now. There have also been several occurrences where she would pretend to have never received important faxes like release forms and information from hospitals. This person is a nightmare and it really sucks because I like Dr. Quireshi a lot and it’s really ridiculous to have to change doctors because of a secretary.

Richard Scheinberg saved my marriage.He also empowered us to communicate with each other better.5 years later, we are still together, more in love than ever and speak to each other respectfully.I am happy to say my husband and I are celebrating 30 years in a few months and I have Sunrise counseling to thank for that.

Set up medication and therapy appointments at this facility because I am experiencing significant emotional distress. Therapist frequently cancelled but they want to continue placing me on additional medications without evaluating whether or not theyre doing anything for my treatment - or what it is they are even treating. Not to mention they are selling books about metaphysical nonsense like past life regression and communicating with angels and spirits, which hardly seems appropriate in a mental health facility - it comes across as bad practice. Dr. Naqvi was the only one who actually took time to speak to me, and that isnt even his job.

Very disappointed. I saw so many good reviews but it was just not professional and sad.

I cant even type out everything I could say about this place. Coming here is the worst thing you could ever do

VERY disappointed was told by Ms Luke that she would fill out my paper work to get bus because I do not drive. All I get when I call she is very busy so so sad I use to work in nursing that’s neglect on her part i counted on her n she let me down I am sadden they do not treat all patients as a priority.finally my paper work is finished after over a month

Meeting allie has brought back not only my trust in people but especially in doctors.Ive never trusted a doctor in my entire adult life,between judging,medication and especially outlook in life. Shes taught me that if i allow others anxiety to get to me it only makes mine more intense. Shes the best DOCTOR IVE EVER SEEN.Other testimonials stating that the wait is so long is in real and unreasonable!!! That staff listens n ALLIE treats her time very fairly with every single patient.and god forbid there is a medication issue at the pharmacy she will make sure it is rectified.REALLY HAS BROUGHT ME A LONG WAY...EVEN MY FAMILY THANKS HER FOR GIVING THEM THEIR DAUGHTER,SISTER AND BROTHER AND MORE THAN ANYONEBACK THEIR BEST FRIEND BACK AFTER MOMMYS DEATH! MANY THANK YOUS DOC(YES NP HOWEVER BETTER THAN ANY DOCTOR I SEEN OR MET!)

Christine obrien is a horrible councilor she is neglectful and judgmental she has me wait 40 minutes after my appointment time for her. The place overall is disgusting the secretarys are horrible I do not recommend this place at all! I called to make a emergency appointment and the person on the phone said to come in at the time given , did that and was told i couldn’t be seen because christine basically fired me from being her client but when I called they said i could still get an appointment and my medicine. But when got there was told no. Please find somewhere else to get your medicine or counseling this is not it!

Receptionist team incompetent. Did not want to tell receptionist team what my issues are as they should not know that information I felt forced and then they pushed me away couldn’t get an appointment that was immediately needed. Will never use this facility because of this. If I could put no stars I would. The Dr’s there should be ashamed how their receptionists treat people.

The reception staff is completely incompetent. Whenever I make an appointment I have to wait at least an hour to see who I came to see. Today I made an appointment, showed up on time, and found out after an hour and a half that they didnt even tell my psychiatrist that I had made an appointment. Not only that, they didnt communicate with the other people in the office, so when they went home, I was basically sitting here waiting for an appointment that no one knew about. And every time I come here, no one seems to know whats going on. If you can use another office or just another facility in general, I strongly recommend it. - update. For todays appointment, the staff told me I would have to reschedule if I was late. They were very rude, short, and kurt to me over the phone. When I told them how long I waited, Megan the supervisor, wanted to play semantics instead of apologizing. We later apologized, but with the sincerity of a kid on the playground who just pushed you. Completely unhelpful in locating a different agency after numerous complaints. They gave me a number to a hotline to find a new agency, and they were not in. Non-informative, not helpful, disgusting experiences time after time with this staff.

Excellent office. Staff is friendly, and im also seen at my appointment time. I have been going here for 5 years and wouldnt think of another practice. They also have other services available.

UPDATED REVIEW:I’m watching someone suffer at the hands of these people. Now, aside from calling the counseling center and BEGGING FOR HELP receiving several medications, one of their supervisors ASHLEY has told this person that the issues recieving medications caused by ROSEMARY LUKE were “her fault”, that she was “ridiculous” and that if she was going to be upset “she needed to call back later” AFTER THESE PEOPLE SCREEN OUR CALLS! Will literally not answer calls from our phone numbers but answer from blocked/different numbers. So while listening to a mental health patient SOB AND BEG for things to be resolved, this woman sat and blamed her and almost refused to let the patient get a word in. The pharmacies (multiple because medications for some reason are sent to multiple places) have even said they’ve had an excess of issues filling prescriptions written by that psychiatrist/coming from that office. These people have NO business working in the mental health field.ORIGNAL REVIEW:EVERY MONTH without fail I have to either call or physically go into the building to get ROSEMARY LUKE and more than one of the women behind that counter to call in the correct medications for my s/o. Rosemary sends multiple of the same medications in different MG and doesn’t almost never sends in the correct controlled substances so they almost NEVER get approved on time (no matter how long she’s been on them and how familiar the psychiatrist should be by now), and to top it off when we FINALLY figure it all out, she will send half of the prescriptions to one pharmacy and half to another. This woman has had “personal issues”, which are normal and not what angers me, but she has done nothing but let them effect her work. Just TODAY when I called to find out why my fiancé was sent two prescriptions she didn’t take and why one she’s been on for months needs to be changed and reapproved every month, I was hung up on. And when I tried to call back got NO answer. Their supervisor, Ashley, came to us reassuring us that this shouldn’t be the case and would no longer happen the day that we PHYSICALLY went into the office and said we weren’t leaving until things were handled..that was about two months ago. Been dealing with it since, obviously. These people don’t know how to do their job or how to professionally fix their mistakes and it’s just sad with how important a job like theirs should be. I’m hoping nobody else makes the mistake of choosing this counseling office, unless they want leveling out on their medications to be an uphill battle.

I had such a great experience, the blonde girl at the front desk was so helpful and sweet! I would definitely recommend Sunrise to anyone needing counseling services!!
