John is an example of an excellent craftsman; he can tune, repair, or refurbish any piano of any quality and is upfront about pricing and services. I was given a 60 year old Baldwin acrosonic spinet by a friend (a notoriously difficult piano to service) and he turned it from an aging relic into a thing of beauty. It wasn’t cheap, but it wasn’t outrageously expensive and I got what I paid for. His professional attitude and aptitude is only outdone by his friendly and courteous demeanor. Highly recommended.

We purchased a used piano that hadnt been tuned or maintained in 15+ years. John did an excellent job assessing what the piano needed, communicating through the process, and putting it all back together for us. He was generous with his time and very kind and thoughtful. John OConnor went above and beyond.First he showed up with a backpack that seemingly contained a hardware stores worth of tools, gels, sprays, devices, etc. The guy doesnt have a normal tuning device which makes the piano merely sound decent -- he had a $600 device which makes it sound *perfectly* in tune.Then over the course of about two and a half hours, he took a piano that seemed almost unsalvageable, reworking and regulating it to perfection. The whole time, he explained exactly what he was doing and how, using plain English rather than overly reliant on niche musical terms.Plus the guy can legitimately play! At the end, to test the piano out, he played a truly gorgeous melody without misisng a note. I would have paid just to hear that.If you want piano tuning in or around the Nutmeg State, I highly recommend John OConnor. Dont just take my word for it -- take Justin Timberlakes, because John once tuned his piano too.

So we had used another piano tuner for a few years not knowing what we were missing.
