NO stars!! Worst oil company in RI!!! If you see them?? RUN !!!! They over charge. They are not reliable. They are opportunistic they prey on their customers. They put in oil when they want, no matter if your tank is full. They charged me once for 27 gallons and of the cost of putting in the oil was a lot more than what the oil cost. After I wouldn’t sign another 2 year contract they began to charge me full price for oil then they signed me up for another 2 year agreement and then 6 days later they charged me for an early termination fee of 400 dollars for a contract that I never agreed to!!! Incredible. Please do your self a favor and find a real reputable company.

We just switched to Petro today. All the preliminary set up calls were great. Super friendly, organized and knowledgeable staff. The Tech that came out today to hook up our new tank was 100% awesome! So glad we switched to Petro!

Furnace was down but luckily I had a Petro service contract.The technician (Travis) arrived as scheduled and was able to quickly determine the root cause of the problem.In addition he discovered an incorrect thermostat setting which were causing the furnace to short cycle, and not run at maximum efficiency or comfort.Im very satisfied with the peace of mind and quality my Petro service contract has provided.

Horrible company with horrible service. In the middle of the winter, while I was 6 months pregnant our furnace stopped working. We called to get help and they told us to wait till Monday. Had to have a friend come over and figure it out. Thanks for nothing. Beware they will not help you and will leave you completely in the cold with no heat.

The price of oil is way too high! I paid over $4 a gallon when other companies were charging $2.50 per gallon. Now I realize that service deserves a higher price, but this difference is way too much. Other customers, who are people that I know, are also unsatisfied with such a huge discrepancy. I needed a new thermostat and the price was $175 for the same one that was at home depot for $30. My suggestion is this: if you want a full service company check out the price of oil with all of them on the same day to make a fair comparison and then make an informed decision as to which one you want to use to provide oil service. I am locked into a contract for 7 more months, but I will be comparison shopping after that.

Buyer beware, Do not use Petro, I have been constantly ripped off either by their service contracts where cleanings never happen or the price per gallon rising from $2.71 up to $3.71 in less then 4 months from 11/20 through 02/21 for no reason other then Petro arbitrarily can add a $1 per gallon when they want.

I am extremely dissatisfied with your oil delivery service. I am on your automatic delivery system and twice this winter you have either failed me or almost have failed me. The last delivery you made was when my tank was extremely low, but I let it go because of the very cold weather. This morning I woke up to an empty oil tank and no heat. You guys just cant get your automatic delivery calculations right. Also, I cant get anyone on the phone. It took me 30 minutes to get through the busy signal and I have now been on hold for another 30 minutes and no one has picked up yet. I guess I am not the only one who is dissatisfied.

I would not even give them one star but I had to. The service is terrible. I paid them for a service contract and I have called three times for service and never a return call. I had a small oil leak in my basement and they charged me $ 300.oo for some Speedy Dry that I had to clean up and then they called the DEM and reported an oil spill. Once I signed with them they did a Hard Credit Check even though I was paying them in advance via Credit Card with a $ 30 K limit.. I had a Credit Score of 230 which was lowered due to the Hard Credit Inquiry that they did, for what reason, I have no idea!

My Family has been with Petro Home Service Consistently since 1964! They are Fantastic We even have the same oil burner thats 20 yrs oil and runs like a dream becuase my mother who passed at 100 yrs old paid for Petro Service Program which gives you a yearly cleaning and burner inspection and repair - you may have to pay for parts I dont know But they come out 24/7 and deliver as well any time. The customer service ladies are fabulous! I just cant say enough about this company. I of course have stayed with Petro after inheriting moms house. They also offer plumbing washer dryer repair.. I am NOT A paid reviewer! Hand on the BIBLE! I just happened to see the reviews and i was shocked!? This company is OUTSTANDING. I took care of my mother for the past 10 years so I dealt with Petro myself so i have first hand knowledge. They also give you a Guaranteed RATE on the oil if you sign an agreement to stay with them for 1 Year and this is a great deal because they see what the best oil price is they can get oil that year and then offer you a ceiling price if u commit to 1 year! THIS WILL BE THE BEST PrICE for OIL ANyWHERE. they also have a budget plan if you have good credit is a factor I BELIEVE .. not sure what the qualification is for that because my parents didnt even use credit cards and had NO Credit rating! They paid CASH for everything ..cars, their HOUSE.. but had no credit rating - and PETRO gave them the budget plan.. and then u might have a balance at the end.. I paid extra all year to avoid that.. They are THE BEST.

****update*** THREE calls to me about my review in 5 days...which I still have not recd a credit on my account its pending manager review so assuming they are holding fixing this as a quid pro for changing my review - which is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.****Where do I begin? I have a handwritten agreement from Bob Colardo that clearly states 2 years of service for price of one year I paid for that 2 year service a year ago. Now I find a 308 charge for a service agreement on my account. Hold times are ridiculous. At 30 minutes on just a regular day. During a cold snap I was on hold TWO HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES.Do NOT NOT NOT use this company unless you like being taken advantage of at every turn.

Two weeks before Christmas PETRO OIL of EAST GREENWICH charged our FAMILY that includes 6 children, 145% of the state average for 250 gallons of home heating oil. This is price gouging and should be illegal, home heating oil is a necessity. The woman I spoke to on the phone was kind and professional and they agreed to take $100 dollars off the bill. The end result is that we still have to pay 130% of the state average. Merry Christmas Petro.

I had an appointment for a thermostat install today, I ended up waiting for 5 hour (I hour past the window for arrival).When the tech arrived and asked what I needed done, I showed him the smart thermostat I needed to have installed. He informed he was not comfortable, since he had not installed a lot of these(ecobee3) in the past and asked if the company could reschedule the install for a later date.(NOTE): Im not upset with the tech; he did his job, was an honest broker, did not try to shoot from the cuff on the install and provide sub par service; this should not reflect poorly on him AT ALL.I’m disappointed with the local Petro office leadership for not setting their service tech up for success. This purpose of this appointment was clearly expressed to the office that a thermostat install was needed. In all honesty, I’m considering canceling my service contact and switching to Santoro.Pending your reply.

3/14/18 update. They endeup fixing their mistake. They were very nice and I would recommend the new petro! I am actually quite satisfied now!AJ Madison the company I bought a drying machine sent them to fix their dryer which was under their warranty. They came and never truly fixed it and instead of billing them they billed me for $190 and the machine still broken. And my eyes they came here for a half hour and said yep its broken and they left and they want one $190 dollars for that!Ill rather get a lawyer, I dont even care if it costs me double I will not pay that! They will have to take it over my dead body

Terrible Annual Maintenance VisitNo issues prior to tech’s arrival. Week of Thanksgiving. No heat last night! This was third time over last 10 years that there has been snafu with Petro annual preventative service visit. I think it’s time to move on!

You guys filled 2 tanks on my dads road directly across the street from his house a few days ago. He has a contract with you as well... he ran out of propane because your driver skipped him.Hes disabled and had cancer, you wouldnt even pick up your 24 hour phone line. I called with 3 phones. Was on hold with 1 and then later on there was no hold option and you would let it ring 2-3 times and hang up.This is more than unacceptable and I am more than irate. THANK GOD FOR THE DISPATCHERS at The Charlestown Police Dept. They related to me that BUCKLEY was your Subsidiary. I called them and Ray T was out at my dads house within 40 min. He dripped in 23 gallons and apologized for what your company did and is pulling. You should give him s bonus because he saved you guys from a lot of b.s. from my lawyer.I have been on hold now for 30 min trying to get you to fill your tank that he has a a delivery contract for. Youre charging him $1.00 more per gallon than Santoro quoted us.... they answer the phones by the way and deeply apologized for not being able to help us since you own his tank.Totally unacceptable. I plan on contacting the attorney General office as well as channel 10 news today. Hopefully your company is held responsible for all of the homes that had damage from a freeze out that would have been avoided had you held up to your delivery contract.

Petro does not care about military and government workers. they are rude and i will be looking for another propane company. Not all of them are on the same page with accounts which is very annoying when you call and try and pay a bill. and they say the amount you owe is 3 times the amount that they said a 1 week. petro is not a good company.I have had petro since November and I signed with them at 1.77 per gallon I get my bills and the price just keeps going up. And they have delivery fees built in to the pricing when it was suppose to be free. Even says its free when you call and get the automated service. Beth from Preto also has a rude attitude when you call and talk to her and ask about the billing. She was the one who said delivery fees is included.

I called Pedro for service on my boiler and to get my oil filled in my tank they told me they would be able to come January 3rd to do the service and fill up my oil tank I always running out faster than normal so I called them 3 days in a row telling them I needed oil as soon as possible please come out and help me they said they would come out that day the next day or the day after at the latest so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and I waited and continue to call him every single day the third day they feel to come out and fill my oil tank and my oil tank ran out of oil in my house froze and then I had a burst pipe because they failed to keep there promise not only will I not be using futuro ever again in my life but Ill be telling all my friends and family members not to use them as well

Charges almost 150% more than every other supplier in Rhode Island even with a contract. Automatic delivery was very inconsistent and ran out of oil twice this winter and representative tried to blame me. Never again.

This company charged me for 10 years for servicing my boiler and A/C, never did it once, said I did not call to get it serviced ! ;automatically take your money to Service but do not automatically call you to arrange the service dateAnd they NEVER Answer the phone!!!!

Have 2 accounts went to business pumped 4.10 a gallon drove one mile down the street didnt realize same account same truck pumped at home 3.50 gal absolute theifs also came to fix my boiler charged 350.00 for a valve I googled the part # the valve was 40.00 on every site , place should be shut down most dishonest company I have ever seen
