First time visiting today. Was a little hesitant but I need a new mechanic. As soon as I stepped in the door the manager Shane introduced himself gave me a quick backstory on his experience and how long hes been the manager. Made me feel more comfortable. I only needed an oil change but it turned out I spent 350 bucks and change. Shane said something I wont forget people will spend money on anything except their car which should be priority and hes right. He was very thorough with me that I needed a new air filter with it then showed me my back brakes were in bad shape. Not at any point did I feel pressured. In my years of driving I know a little now and still consult a friend or 2 on what kind of deal I got. I even had to leave the car and Shane had someone there drive me home and bring me back when it was done which he didnt have to do. I thought that was a nice touch. He has a business to run but proved he doesnt wanna bleed people dry either. Id say he has my return business. Very respectable

Went in for a $19.99 oil change. It ended up costing $33.78. If they had stuck to the listed price I may have given him a good tip that would have been similar to this price and a good review. But due to the ever fluctuation of the prices from the listed price he gets a bad review and lost my business. I’m not going there again. (Last time I was there it did actually cost $19.99 so evidence of them being dishonest )

Manager Miguel and technician Anthony were terrific. They brought me inside and showed me all their findings in addition to the requested work, and even gave recommendations for following up on shoddy work that had been done in the past by other facilities. Miguel was very transparent and worked with me on a very fair price for the replacement of my brake pads, rotors, and calipers. Terrific experience overall, and I left feeling like my business was appreciated and they had my best interest at heart.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! Ive been taking my car to Monroe for years but only for oil changes. I brought it in for an oil change yesterday and they noticed the front pads needed replacing which i knew prior to going in. When they quoted me the price i knew it was a fair price so i said go for it. He replaced the pads and noticed another issue, rather than call me back and pad the price by $100 he fixed it at no cost. He said it was his responsibility since he missed it initially. I now have a new mechanic. i highly recommend this place, hes fair and best of all very honest. Im assuming this is new management

This was my first time visiting Monro Auto Service & Tire Centers. Originally from Rhode Island I was traveling through New Jersey and needed an oil change. I had been calling around to multiple places and everywhere seemed to either not have time that day, or gave me an appointment time for a future date. I desperately needed an oil change because I was already over designated mileage and the maintenance required light was on. I did not want to put additional miles on my car traveling back to Rhode Island. This would put wear on my engine and I had just bought this car! I was on a time crunch, and even contacted places like Mavis and Valvoline. Thankfully I came across this shop in East Brunswick. It was conveniently located to the area I was in jersey. I called and the manager Miguel was more than accommodating and allowed me to come in. He thoroughly explained what would be checked for this service. This included checking all my car parts, measuring and assessing my tires and doing a tire rotation if needed in addition to my oil change. As someone who isn’t really the best at knowing cars I felt like I was getting genuine and honest advice and not just being told information to rip me off. The environment of the shop was calm and professional, and I felt comfortable waiting for my car to be serviced. Once my car was being serviced, the actual worker was prompt and careful. I could see him working on my car through the waiting area so I was making sure to keep an eye out. He treated my car with care and I truly appreciated that. For my particular situation I did not need to haven’t tires rotated. They measured each tire to ensure that they were being worn down evenly and they were. Actually doing that service would do more harm than good for my vehicle. Especially when it comes to tires I’ve had experiences in the past with companies like Mavis who aren’t as careful with their clients tires. They will purposefully create issues so that your service is more expensive. That is not fair. Especially when you have clients who may not know cars as well, they are being taken advantage of. Miguel was extremely honest about what needed to be done. In the future when I need to get a service done I would immediately want to come back. Miguel even gave me his business card so that was I do go back to Rhode Island I could have his information. That way if I ever went to another shop or had questions I would have access to an honest and knowledgeable mechanic / store manger. I would be sure with him that I was not getting ripped off or that issues that are being said are there aren’t really there. I feel very thankful for that because this is my first car and I want to be able to take care of it as best as possible. Overall I rate this experience a 5/5. I got prompt service and my issues handled with my car. The manager went above and beyond explaining in detail what would be expected. He didn’t try to do additional services that were unnecessary. Finally, he offered his expertise even when I was not going to be going his Shop. That to me is excellent customer service and I only hope other shops would model this. He is also a psychology major so you know that he understands how people are and how to manage a business. I am truly impressed! He deserves to be moved up or at the very least given additional compensation for the time and dedication he puts in. I am not even someone who writes reviews, but I felt compelled to this time. Miguel just fixed a bunch of problems that my car had no thanks to Midas. He worked with me and helped me out so much. My car is driving sooo much better now. Very honest and very sweet. I hate to do this but after many service visits here, I will never go back. Took my car there for an oil change & tire rotation. The service guy didnt have the right tool to remove the lug nuts to do the rotation and actually started using my lug wrench and was removing them by hand. That was the only the beginning. After a few days I noticed leaking oil on my garage floor. I took my Santa Fe to my dealer and he said the gasket on the oil plug was missing and thats why my oil was leaking. This is truly unacceptable serviceI have taken 3 of my cars there in the past year and have been very satisfied each time. They are honest and fair and their prices are competitive. Easy to schedule an appointment. Highly recommended

Customer service was great on my first visit, but after leaving I discovered oil leaking onto my windshield. They had not replaced the oil cap and left it sitting on my engine block under the hood leaking oil everywhere for nearly four days until I caught it. I had to put my own oil in it to get to the shop, they would not refund me for that or the original oil change. Only gave me a “free” oil change which I wouldn’t have needed if they did it correctly the first time and offered me a free oil change if I came in again. Which is not happening. Also, they never apologized.Not only did they almost destroy my engine, they also messed up the skid plate under my car, making it next to impossible for the next place to change my oil. If I could give negative stars I would.

Avoid this location at all cost. They dont take appointments so you dont know when to go. When you do go they tell you they cant work on your car. I tried to get my car serviced for four days in a row. Incompetent and ungrateful are words I would use to describe this place. Rejecting customers isnt a good business policy, ever.Edit: I got a call from corporate accusing me of lying about this location not taking appointments. Unless I am deaf, I clearly heard them say no appointments and only first come first serve. I heard that on the phone and in person. If you just want cheap service go to any other national chain. If you want good and trustworthy service find a local mechanic.

Efficient, professional and friendly. Make the appointment online and be there on time. In 15 minutes or so, you are done for oil change and a free rotation. I wish I could find this place earlier so that I did not have to go somewhere did the oil change only and ignored the rotation even it was included in the coupon. EB location is grossly understaffed. Their version of appointment is non existent. After $15 coupon for basic oil change you walk out paying $24 due to fees. Also then they notify you that their credit card machine is not working and i need to pay cash. I clearly see that credit card machine is operational....but i guess its their lunch money. Sunday 2/3 website shows that place is open. When i show up no one around. Not coming back.

Came to the shop today for new brakes. Brakes was in terrible condition. Made an appointment and immediatly car was put on a lift and inspected. Throughout the whole process everything was explained step by step. Miguel is like no other. He is the manager and runs the show. His show is not typical of a normal auto show. He is here to help you. As I said my brakes was in terrible condition and my cars brakes are more expensive than regular ones. He showed me the problems and let me visually see and touch and explained the issues. At no time did i feel i was being taken advantage of. In fact when we got to the actual price of service I was nervous. I wasnt expecting that figure. Throughout the whole process he told me I will work with you, and boy did he make good on that promise, and in the end I felt like we came to price that I know no other shop could come close to matching. Very happy and will be back with my other cars. Dont waste your time at other places. If you are in the East Brunswick area this is your place.

Got an oil change in about a half an hour. Didnt try to upsell me on anything. As I was waiting, a woman came in with a tire pressure light on. The man at the desk said he would check it and even suggested if it needed to be repaired ,she should take it to a place for a plug instead of buying a whole new tire. Pretty good service

Surreal level of incompetence. My 2018 brand new car was getting over 34 MPG before I took it in for an oil change, after this place, its down to 30.5 MPG and keeps dropping. It doesnt make sense how you can get worse MPG AFTER an oil change. So I decided to change my own oil so I know its done right, this was barely a month after this place changed my oil and it was so god damn dirty, its as if its never been changed. The level of incompetence of this place is so pathetic and even if you absolutely hate your car that needs an oil change so youre willing to go anywhere to get it done, this is not the place to take it. If there was a rating lower than 1 star, this is what I would rate this place. I dont understand how a car can get worse mileage after an oil change, it just doesnt make sense unless of course they never changed the oil to begin with. And even IF they did change it, clearly they put in some cheap brand oil and not the correct oil that I paid for which was not regular oil.

Shop claimed to open at 9am. Got there at 8:55 and he eventually strolled in at 9:26 and it turned out he said he was the only one working on that particular day. I needed a simple cut and pipe replacement but he claimed they weren’t capable of cutting at that shop. Seriously? A muffler shop that isn’t capable of cutting? I left there shaking my head in disgust. I would gladly give them zero stars out of 5 but I don’t think it’s possible. Absolutely the worst shop ever AVOID AT ALL COSTS...

And i told the mechanic i had the tune up last week but still it has the same problem. The mechanic replaced the spark plugs which were already replaced in tune up. I still have the same problem. $250 in ditch

Went there in 2009 or so to replace a windshield wiper motor for an old minivan. They quoted a price of $800 because we only use new parts and they needed to replace the motors transmission, which is really a part of the motor. They looked at me like they were sorry and couldnt do anything about it expecting me to swallow that line. If you know anything about cars and saw my minivan you would know that you can get a motor from any junkyard that would work just fine. I walked out on the BS and did it myself for much less. It worked until the vehicle died.
