I purchased a replacement engine for a Scag Freedom Z mower. The sales person told me that it would be plug-n-play except for the exhaust. So I kept the exhaust from the old engine. However when I received the engine it would turn out that it was not plug-n-play. There was an electrical harness that was missing, a missing bolt and a missing keyway. I called to inquire about these parts. The fella I spoke with was rude and ultimately unhelpful. He told me that those parts were Scag specific and that I would need to contact them. I asked if they might have the parts available since they are also a repair shop and if so could they send them to me? I was willing to pay. He said no they dont do that, contact Scag. When I informed him that I was told that the engine would be plug-n-play except for the exhaust he yawned and said alright. If I had known that I needed to retain additional stuff off of the old engine, I would have done so. However I was told that only the exhaust would be needed. So thats what I did. Then when I call on them for support, Pats small engine was rude, unhelpful and in the end the fella blamed me for not keeping more stuff from the old engine. Frustrating. Go anywhere else, avoid this place at all costs.

This out fit will rip you off! I ordered a kit that I thought by all indication was for the machine I was working on, but unfortunately it wasn’t, so I tried to return it and because it was over thirty days from date of order and it took weeks to get here and not opening the box right away, they could have done something if they wanted but they don’t care about the community at large, a very shameful way to do business, as a small business owner I would have done everything possible to help my customers, they wouldn’t help me so beware everyone. Very unsatisfied customer who will never buy for these people again

After reading all these reviews IMMA SCARED. Trying to return a Kawasaki engine and getting no response. Will let you know how I make out. One star right now . We will see.Update. I am stuck with a 2 thousand dollar engine that I cant use. engines are non refundable Should have read all the reviews. If you do. notice that all the positive reviews are Professional reviewers 100 plus google reviews. the negative reviews are 1 or two reviews. DO YOURSELF A GREAT SERVICE AND STAY AWAY... zero stars

I called Pats small engine and told them I needed a kawasaki engine for my 16 year old toro lawn tractor. They had an engine in stock that bolted right in where my old muffler fit perfect, all at a great price. I had my lawn mower up and running in a day. Thanks Jerry

I ordered a Carburetor to fit my Kawasaki Mule from Pats Small Engine Plus & gave them the model #, etc. of my Mule.A very nice Young Lady took my order. I paid her $143.60 by PayPal. 12 days later I received it and it wouldnt even Come Close to fitting my Mule.I called for a refund, and Troy said I ordered the wrong part so they have to deduct 20% restocking fee. I said I DID NOT order the Wrong Part, I was Sent the Wrong Part.Anyway, I had to agree let the azzholes deduct their 20% before he would give me a Return Authorization Number, AND I had to pay $12.75 tp ship it back to them.I Highly advise Everyone to NEVER Ring their Bell, or you will take a Huge Chance of Being Screwed, like I was.Oh, I bought the Correct carburetor for my Mule from another company for only $26.32.

Shock was ordered per the 1992 Arctic Cat Jag Deluxe listed on Pats chart. Upon opening it was obvious, shock was not intended to fit on a 92 Jag, nor does it have a retaining nut to capture the spring. I paid for shipping to my house, now I must pay for shipping back to Pats, and then I must pay a 20% restock fee. Shipping + restock fee = 35$ for $52 dollars worth of shocks I had to send back. I would not recommend Pats for online orders, return process is not ideal even when items were ordered per Pats charts.

They are very easy to deal with, both on line and in person.I ordered a toro part on line and realized it was the wrong part only after attempting to make a repair about a month after I received it.I found out they were only a short distance away from me so I returned the part in person and the part I needed was out of stock so they ordered the correct part for me.Very nice to deal with.

Save yourself some money and try fixing it yourself with parts from Pats! Pats has the parts youll need - and personalized service to go with it. I had some questions about parts for my ice auger, and Pat HIMSELF responded by email almost immediately. Very helpful! BEWARE!!! Poor customer service. Read their entire website before ordering. 20% restocking fee so BE CAREFUL! BTW, this 20% is in the fine print on a separate page of their website. No notice at all when ordering. Also, on hold over 10 minutes when calling to set up return. Rep was extremely rude. Advised I would leave a review of my experience, he said Go Ahead. Obviously this company does not need our business. Go with a more well known company that will have your back when returning.

Product description and photo totally wrong after waiting for shipment for 2 weeks. Then took 3 days to finally get someone from their Return Dept to give a Return Authorization number. Didnt refund original shipping or pay for return shipping.Definitely wouldnt recommend.

Buyer Beware!! Placed an order with this company for a $1,600.00 motor. After a week of receiving no communication (with the exception of the initial order confirmation email) had to send two emails to customer service before receiving a response. Customer service responded that since I was having the part sent to a residential address instead of a commercial address, there would be a $40.00 fee. Since we needed the motor as quickly as possible to repair a mower needed for our landscaping business, I agreed to pay the extra $40.00, provided my payment information, and requested a shipping/delivery date. I then received a response that the motor we ordered was no longer in stock and, due to delays with their vendor, it would be several weeks before they would be back in stock; would we like to wait? Seems very convenient that after no communication regarding the address or extra fee, and then taking $1,700.00, my money is now going to be held hostage while we wait for a new shipment of motors that seem to have magically gone out of stock only AFTER I inquired and paid extra. I have asked for a 100% refund, no response as of yet. We, as a small business, placed trust in another small business, expecting the same level of customer service and open communication that we strive to provide our customers. I have NEVER left a negative review for any business, however I felt this experience warranted a warning to other potential customers.****Edit: They did provide a refund, however, did not receive an email until after I had emailed twice....never received an email prior to myself reaching out. Additionally, it is not possible that a message was left (assuming they mean my cell phone, as stated in their below response) as I can personally attest that my vm box has been full for months.****

I purchased a master re-ring kit for my Kawasaki 25 hp engine recently. It cost me about $195.00 with shipping. My local parts dealers were more like $560-580 for the same parts. The ordering was easy, I had one question before placing the order and was able to speak to a knowledgable and pleasant person on the phone who answered my question. Having read the negative reviews as well as the responses from Pats I placed the order. Everything came quickly and it was all correct. Glad to say the engine is back up and running. Thanks Pats for being a part of a great Father/Son project, my son is thrilled with the results.

By then I had gotten the correct part and these were no longer needed. They refused to allow a return. Apathetic and unhelpful. Dont do business with them.

We called pats to order engine parts. We gave them the numbers for the equipment and they shipped us the parts according to the numbers. The parts were wrong so we returned the money. They kept our parts and our money. They were very rude to us. The parts and even the packaging was not damaged at all. I will never deal with them online again

Ordered an engine kit, website claims same day shipping. Im in Minnesota so I thought Id buy local. Its been almost a week and still no shipping detail. Emailed them days ago and no response. Ive been selling parts for over 20 years.. If we did business like this wed be out of business. I shouldve ordered from eBay, where sellers actually care about their reviews and seller scores. Very late update- I did receive my parts, but Id still suggest better communication. Parts were correct and price was fair. Finished the job and all is well!

Order complete deck rebuild kit for my mower with all of the information asked for. Ended up receiving the wrong spindles, even though I specified my deck and mower, had to pay myself to send them back and pay for the new spindles on the assurance that I would get credited for my return. That was another lie, spent a total of $151 for kit, $28 to ship back, and got $27 credit after having to spent $171 more dollars for correct spindles. Have receipts and paperwork to prove it. DO NOT EVER do business with these people!! You have been warned.

Purchased a rebuild kit for $290 ended up being the wrong kit that I needed, I sent an email everyday for a week, no response. Finally called the next week and was immediately put on hold because they had a customer at the counter I was on hold for over 10 minutes. With no response I ordered the correct kit and waited for a return number, after waiting days I finally received the return information, today I received a refund for $230 of my $290 even after I purchased another kit from them they still charged an extreme fee for no reason. I will never ever do business with this company ever again. 0/5 if I could! Worst customer service I have ever seen.

Pats Small Engine Repair is a store that you can go to and you will not be a number. They treat you like a human being and thats a Dying Breed. Extremely friendly staff very knowledgeable staff they do whats asked and if theres more work that needs to be done they will give you a phone call. Not too many places do that anymore! I would highly recommend Pat small engine to anybody who has a lawn mower or any type of small engine that needs to be repaired. Five stars all the way!! I definitely will be back many many times. Great little shop located on the West side of 65 in East Bethel. Online ordering system is rather primitive but works easily enough to find anything you need from their entire available inventory. Great customer support by email and would recommend them to anyone in the area.

I bought a set of SPI pistons online from psep at the end of summer with plans to start working on my snowmobile. Things happened and I was not able to start working on it until mid November. I measured the pistons before installing and found them way out of specs. They were both too small for my brand new cylinders. They also sent me chrome rings which are not supposed to be used in the model I ordered the parts for. The part # was correct for my sled. I have used SPI pistons before and have never seen this. All I can think is there was a mistake in manufacturing. Pats would not take the pistons back on return saying the purchase was beyond 90 days. The guy I talked to at the parts counter over the phone was even rude about it. I wasted over $100. Every other place I have bought parts from over the years would refund for selling me a defective product. I sent a number of emails to their contact center with photos of actual measurements and descriptions. They never responded. Pats Small Engine Parts would not stand behind their product. I am not Impressed

Walked in to buy a mower, the place was very busy but Pat took the time to answer all my questions and make sure I was well informed prior to purchase. Over $2K and completed transaction with credit card payment. 2 days later we received a phone call that the price online was wrong and she wanted another $250! Gave us the song and dance that she was just one girl trying to keep up with everything and it was just too much. Well if you are running an online business and cannot keep up with what you are selling then just a suggestion..... try another line of work. I walked in and walked up to the counter and there was the employee and a customer talking about whose wife mowed the lawn worse.....this went on for about 3 minutes. Both of them made eye contact with me when I walked in, so they knew I was waiting. This all happened after I had called earlier and was put on hold for 18 minutes. I can see why, because the 3 employees talked amongst themselves the whole time, even when the guy finally came around to help me. Now I know why I was on hold for 18 minutes. They must be the owners buddies or something, dont know. To bad I cannot give them a zero star, because I would.

I’ll never do business with these hacks ever again. Brought in my chainsaw for a spring fresh up. Clean, adjust , tune . They said they were competent and would welcome my business. Turns out it needed a part replaced and they recommended throwing my saw in the garbage. “Not worth fixing” were there exact words. I told them order the part and fix it anyway. My 20 year old Jonsered is a better saw than the plastic Saws they manufacture now. They just wanted to sell me a new saw. When I went to pick up the saw it was dirty, greasy, and covered in grime. It wasn’t tuned up, they didn’t even replace the spark plug. This hack couldn’t even take the time to wipe it clean and show some professional pride. Not a small engine repair shop they don’t have any competent mechanics. All their “mechanic” is good for is assembly. I am in the market for a new zero turn lawn mower and I will be visiting the John Deere dealer just a bit north of these hacks. They just put in this fancy new building right in our neighborhood and this was a test. They failed miserably. I did my own fresh up as I should have from the start. But learned a valuable lesson never to do business with them ever again.

I ordered the wrong part, wanted to exchange it for the right one...it costs twice as much to ship it than they were going to give me for the exchange., not to mention they would only give me a fraction of what they charged me for the part to begin with. If I agreed to pay an additional $55 dollars on a $150 part and wait an additional 5 to 7 days then they will be willing to honor their committment. I ordered a short block for a John Deere F620 lawnmower, gave them all the necessary information regarding the engine [Model Number, serial; number etc] and was assured that they would send the correct block. I received an incorrect short block and they gave me a hard time about taking the useless block back. They finally reluctantly agreed to take the block back but kept 25% of the total cost and in addition I had to pay return shipping. I contacted the Better Business Bureau where they are located and was told that the BBB does not grade them on business ethics or competence. The BBB grade is based on how long they have been in business and the volume of their business??!!! AMAZING! My wife says its my fault for not reading all the negative reviews about these thieves. Between return shipping and withholding 25% of my payment their mistakes cost me almost $300. BEWARE!!!

Buyers beware!!!! Stay away from this company. I ordered a pump and repair kit online and paid for overnight shipping. I received my confirmation email that my purchase went threw but no shipping information. So when I called this morning they told me that my item is being dropped shipped from the supplier and they would call back in a few minutes. Almost 3 hours later they called and said that the product is at their location and that the guy had went to an appointment and nobody checked the order. However, if I wanted my product shipped I would have to pay more and it would be 4 days till I might get the product. I told them no and that they should ship it for free as this was there mistake. Brandon then transferred me to Ryan who was extremely rude and stated he would just cancel the order and hung up. I called back same outcome. Third call was to owner who was just as rude and arrogant. He told me that if I wanted the product I would have to pay extra and that I should have called to get an overnight shipping quote. I actually did call first and they said to order online it would be cheaper. I then explained that I wanted to cancel my order and that I was calling my bank for a chargeback on them and I would give a bad online review. The owner Pat got mad and said that I was extorting him by threatening a bad review. He stated he wasnt going to lose money and if I wanted my pump Id have to pay more. when I told him that this was bad business and asked is this how business is done in MN he said I guess so and depends on where you go. Bad business should have read the reviews. STAY AWAY. Im pretty sure its illegal to sell a product, allow the customer to pay for it and then hold hostage the product unless you pay more.

I purchased an engine rebuild kit and a tune up kit. The tune up kit was not in stock but was able to ship everything out just a few days after purchase. They do not tell you if an item is in or out of stock nor give you an estimated wait time. I did call and the lady who helped me out was very helpful and accurate on shipping timing. Ended up rebuilding the engine and turned out to be an issue with the pistons ( all the rings were stuck in the piston groove due to a clearance issue closer to the inside of the piston). When working with the warranty guy is was very apparent he does not know a lick about customer service. This was apparent after telling me that I ran the engine without oil and how the damage was because I did something wrong.... the engine was burning white smoke, which of course the guy told me that was due to rich fuel mixture... not sure what 4 stroke fuel mixture burns white but I digress. I even told him Pats small engine was not at fault and if he could send the items back to Kawasaki for them to look into manufacturing defect. What comes in the mail today... my pistons with a service manual telling me I need to prove that there is a manufacturing defect... what company tells a customer to find the problem in order to get a warranty. Being a mechanical engineer and working on engines daily I think that I have a pretty good understanding of how to correctly put a small engine together. It was $100 of new parts to get the engine going. If I did something to cause the damage it isnt worth $100 to argue with someone who is willing to make up stuff (white smoke lie mentioned earlier) to prove that the customer is wrong. I do want to mention that the parts are priced well and everything came well packaged but when one rotten apple will ruin the whole basket. If you order from them just be aware if there is an issue you will never see your money again...even if it isnt a problem that pats small engine caused. Look at the BBB ratings to see more issues to be aware of when buying. The current A rating seems fishy considering it has 7 negative reviews with only 2 good reviews... I will update this if anything is resolved.

I ordered a part on May 3, 2017, received a confirmation immediately & now its May 11, 2017, I have not received at least a tracking# and have not received the part. My invoice# was 12345, isnt that bogus? I tried to call but all I received was a voicemail message. I couldnt even leave a message. I tried sending an e-mail to the response e-mail, it was undeliverable & Microsoft said it was spam. I believe these guys are scamming me. Dont use Pats Small Engine Parts, you wont get your part.

I placed an order on their website. I paid more than the order total for 2nd day air. I received my order confirmation by email. After a couple days I called to get an estimated time of delivery. I was then told they will not honor their posted price. The only option offered was to give them more money or they would cancel the order. The only reason I gave one star is its the only way I had a chance to explain the bad review. I would not recommend this company to anyone that has strong beliefs of what is right or wrong.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Order and engine kit and wanted to replace pistons with oversized ones once i tore engine down. Return rates matched none of the prices listed on website and they wanted over half the cost of a full master rebuild kit for the replacement pistons. Refused to email me another copy of my invioce to leave in the return box so im afraid to even send them back and never get a refund. Definitely will never be ordering from them again

Horrible customer service. Had to return an unneeded item and took nearly a month to receive a refund. Delivery confirmation showed they received the item two days after I sent it. Every time I called the person I spoke with blamed another department and said it was being processed. However - none of these people even got my information to confirm it was being processed. This sounds like the same response they tell every caller just to get them off the phone.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM PATS SMALL ENGINE PLUS. They advertise same day shipping. I ordered it in the morning, and they didnt ship it until a week and a half later, without any communication as to why.Ordered a spindle shaft and housing for one of my Hustler Shortcut mowers, and received it in timely manner. After installing, discovered another one going bad, so I checked all and found all about to fail before long, so I ordered 5 more housings on June 28, 2011 and received a confirmation letter of receipt. On July 7, emailed to find out where my order and if they could send me a tracking #. I received an automated letter telling me they would respond after 36 hrs. The next day,Friday, July 8,2011, I receive a notice from FedEx that they picked up my order at 4:42 pm. Apparently, my order slipped through the cracks and they didnt find it until I reminded them a week and a half later. Here it is Mon. July 11, 2011 still no package from PSEP. AND STILL NO RESPONSE TO MY EMAIL.

Ive dealt with these people three times in five years and the only reason I go back is because I live ten minutes away. If there was ANY other option I would do it. Their customer service is horrible, prepare to be insulted on the phone and treated as a general #sshole. Waiting on the phone today was pretty typical (9 minutes) then the guy was rude and ignorant on the phone. Dont go here, dont deal with them, dont do it.

Ordered the part from amazon, than checked on-line to see where the part was coming from (I am in Kaukauna WI). The site I went to was a complaint site that had me wondering if I had made the right decission.Just the facts.Part was ordered on the weekend, shipped the following Monday and I received it by USPS on Wednesday. Installed it today and my 12.5 hp Kohler runs fine. (Second ignition module I had to replaced)Pats had the lowest price for this part and yes, I would consider them again for any other parts I need.

Dont buy from them unless you want to wait forever, no communication, and price to high. I ordered and received payment confirmation both from them and paypal. Sent them an email 3 days later to see if item shipped and they said I did not pay and wanted me to pay again. Opened a dispute with paypal sent them two more emails with no response. Ordered another impeller from ebay at almost half their price with free shipping. Pats charged me $7.95 for shipping. Received part from ebay had it installed and two days later received item from Pats with still no communication. I guess the dispute threat from paypal did the trick. I guess I have an extra impeller for my boat now. Will never do business with them again.

Will not order from again. Ordered part, and few days later they called to say they could not honor internet price, that the price increased 20%. I agreed to pay the additional charge (even though I didnt believe it) if they would cover the shipping. The refused, and I cancelled. POOR customer service. Buyer Beware.
