Mathias and Tyler and their team are great to work with. Tyler is the best at Duct cleaning guy. He is thorough by blowing the dust from each duct from top down, then vacuuming it out. We needed to have our chimney and fireplace box inspected before using it for the first time and 2nd Gen. Chimney came through! In the end, we needed to have our fireplace refractory panels to be replace and new bottom. They came out installed everything in a timely manner, very professional and even answered our concerns. After some time the back panel developed a crack (not from poor install but from bad panel upon cure). We notified 2nd Gen. and told them of the situation and they were out here within 2 days time! Put a new panel in under warrantee too! Top notch service. Dont hesitate with these guys!

Excellent experience working with 2nd Generation Chimneys as first time homeowners responsible for the safety and maintenance of our first chimney/fireplace! Upon 2nd Generations inspection, they recommended the entire lining be replaced as the existing tiles dated back to 1926. They drafted a detailed and fair work proposal, took the time to walk us through what it all meant and why that type of service was needed, and encouraged us to seek out other bids to feel confident about making such a big investment as new homeowners. In the end, 2nd Generation was the best bid we received that fell along the most ideal timeline. On the day of service, they arrived right on time to get the job done in a days work, walked us through all they had done upon completion, and took the time to explain what to do as the work cured and what to keep in mind when we used our fireplace for the first time. Well be sticking with 2nd Generation as our fireplace/chimney servicer moving forward because of their great work quality, communication about what theyre doing and why, and fair pricing.

The inspectors, sales rep and installation teams were all fantastic! They were responsive, knowledgeable and punctual. The install team arrived and the brick color did not match as well as we had hoped, he took the initiative to check with me and then went to get a better match. I was very satisfied with the service. The pricing was on the high side but the quality was very high!

My review is based on pricing. The service provided by the 2nd Generation staff who inspected our fireplace/chimney was great; they were professional, respectful, and explained things well. They even went above and beyond by telling us about an unrelated issue they noticed while on our roof inspecting the chimney.HOWEVER, this company’s pricing seems to be absurdly expensive. We were quoted $1400 to completely replace parts of our fireplace. Unsatisfied with this number, I reached out to two other local companies for estimates. I sent them the exact photos taken by the 2nd Generation employees of the damaged parts. Both companies, unbeknownst to each other, recommended very easy DIY solutions to repair—rather than replace—the parts, which will cost us no more than ~$30. Yes, $30. 3-0. I don’t think 2nd Generation was lying or trying to “scam” us in any way, I simply think their pricing is ridiculously high. Also, they only offered a replacement solution when clearly a repair was possible.*I should add that the other 2 companies were recommendations I saw on Nextdoor by people who have used them and both have positive Google reviews.

If you are seeking an estimate thats thorough, I highly recommend.Please, please, please, make sure you always inspect all chimneys before you close on a sale. Hiring these folks for a detailed inspection could save you from a $20,000 or $30,000 mistake.

Second generation chimneys was able to repair my chimney flu and replace the apron at the top of my chimney. Other companies told me I had to replace the flu with a stainless steel liner. While repairing the wall was still costly it saved me 2-3 thousand dollars. Tyler and his crew were very courteous and did a wonderful job. Highly recommended!!

Tyler and Hunter came out to inspect an older wood burning stove in our home. We suspected there were issues and, as a result of heir inspection, were able to make the decision to remove the wood stove so as not to put my family at risk of a house fire. I appreciated their candor and honesty in their recommendation to either - 1) repair the flue tiles, 2) replace the stove and repair the flue tiles or 3) remove the stove and seal up the chimney. They were efficient and helpful. We would recommend them highly.

From the office staff to the technician it was perfect. They are very respectful of my house and family. I would recommend these guys anytime.

Called them in because we had a squirrel in our chimney and wanted it removed and the chimney capped. They looked, said there was no squirrel and that one they saw on the roof was probably the one that was in there. Then they capped the chimney for a fairly high price. A few days later we heard and saw the squirrels trying to get out of the chimney (which was capped so they could not leave at all at this point). Had to solve the problem ourselves. A lot of money to pay to achieve very little.
