Duluth Tree Service is comprised of a group of hard working, professionals who did an excellent job of taking down 5 mature aspens that were leaning over a garage. We lost a lot of trees because of the storms on 7/21/2016 and 7/21/2017. We cut & hauled 98 truck loads of trees & brush, but there was more to do, so we decided it was time to hire help. I texted Hans at Duluth Tree Service. He responded quickly and quoted me a reasonable rate for a 3-man crew for a full day with equipment: truck with chipper, bucket truck, and a pickup truck / trailer / walk behind skid steer. Dan came out to our property on Friday, May 3 and did a walk-through with us. He was on time, professional, courteous, and enthusiastic :) The crew started on Monday, May 6 - they showed up on time, worked all day, and left at 4:30. Dan, Lee, and Shane were very friendly and did everything we requested - they took down birch that were too close to the power line, huge poplar, bent pines, and nasty balsam. They were always wearing safety gear, and worked well together. We were very happy with their progress and decided we had more trees that should come down... the guys were able to return on Wednesday, and worked another full day. My family and I really appreciate their hard work. We highly recommend Duluth Tree!

Five stars. Just a fantastic job, I couldnt have been more impressed with the whole operation.. Hans was quick to get us an estimate for the overall cost as well as when they could get us on the schedule. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would, removed our trees quickly and professionally and cleaned up the yard before leaving. We were VERY impressed with Duluth Tree Service. After becoming frustrated with a couple other companies for their lack of response, Hans was a pleasure to deal with on the phone and was very prompt with his communication and estimate. When the crew arrived the next day, Dan and Lee (and another man whose name we unfortunately did not get) were the epitome of professionalism, even though it was at the very end of their long day. They provided a recommendation for our two huge old trees, which we completely agreed with, and then they proceeded to demonstrate how amazingly skilled and professional they are at what they do. We were in awe of their work! We highly recommend Duluth Tree Service, and we definitely look forward to working with them again!

Good work ethic, I would have liked better communication. I wish theyd told me when they were coming back to grind the stump so that we could have been prepared for them. Things didnt go smoothly as I wouldve liked but things seldom do. I was impressed with the work ethic of Hans and the crew anyway. Trees are gone and so is the stump so I guess that Im satisfied but not overly impressed.

We called Duluth Tree Service to remove five trees on our property and we were very pleased with the experience and services provided. We received prompt, professional and friendly communication, the crew worked incredibly HARD, and their prices were fair! We would not hestitate to use them again and would recommend them to others!

We had a great experience with this company. Calls were answered or returned promptly by Hans. He came out and did a walk through and estimate, he was very knowledgeable and we felt the estimate was reasonable. Lee, Dan and the rest of the crew arrived on time, were very polite, professional and skilled. They took out 6 huge spruce trees all of which were near our house as well as two large aspens, they chipped what could be, hauled away the larger logs and cleaned up all in about 6 hours! Would definitely recommend!

Duluth Tree came yesterday and took down a very large dead birch from my yard. The crew was very professional and courteous. I would certainly recommend them. Hans put me on his list as urgent and followed through on his promise.

The guys at Duluth Tree Service were responsive, honest and very professional. We were very pleased with the work they did taking down our trees, removing them and grinding out the stumps. They even helped us save a little money by setting aside some burls for us to sell and encouraging us to call MN Power to get some trees that were near the powerline on the ground at no cost. We will use them again without hesitation.

I had these guys to my house twice this year and am very happy to recommend them. The first time, they took down two large aspens that were precariously close to my neighbors fence. The second time, they took down a smaller pine and a very large, multi-trunked mountain ash that was leaning over the street. The crew was efficient, friendly, and polite. I wish I had taken video of those five guys working together! It was really impressive. Their equipment was professional and they were very conscientious about safety. They raked and cleaned up everything. Minus the trees, I would not have known they had been there. There were several other trees and shrubs near all of the trees they took down and there was no damage to anything else. I was able to ask for advice about the condition of another huge maple. When I called and asked for a bid, he was there the next day. I thought the cost was reasonable. I am thoroughly satisfied with their work and wont hesitate to call them again or to recommend them to others. Thank you.

I hired Duluth tree service to remove a large tree that was nextto my house and in between my house and my propane tankand in front of the tree was my septic system. I asked Hans the owner if it was even possible to remove this tree. He told me what he was going to do and then he did exactly as he said he would. He climbed the treeremoving branches as he went higher the tree was about 100 feethigh he climbed about 90 feet of it using ropes to guide it away frommy propane tank. I watched the four-man crew work with incredible skilland teamwork. These guys have all the right equipment and all the rightskills. I highly recommend Duluth tree service

Ive used other tree service companies in the past and never will again.Thankfully, Hans got back to me right away and worked with my schedule to fit me in. My yard was actually left tidier than before I hired them to do the work. They even raked up their mess, that other companies had left behind for me to tend to. They took down three dead spruce trees that I had been worried about, which were hovering over my sauna building, and sandwiches between power lines and a fence. Very skilled and careful work. A week later, we had a nasty wind storm and my neighbors lost several huge spruce. I recommend this service.

The Duluth Tree Service gentleman who took my call was not a very nice person… he did not want my business and we are talking about $7K worth of work.I told him I have 3 large trees that definitely needed to be dealt with and I needed 3 other trees evaluated to see if they should be removed. There are also about 6 trees that are on the property that I would have liked to have looked at for removal if possible... they might be healthy though so I was not sure... I dont want to take down healthy trees just because I want them down. We have quite a few acres and would have liked some trees take out in front of the house as well.He asked me describe the trees… I said they were very tall, brown, and slowly turning green on top… he was not amused. I thought… if I knew all about trees why would I be calling you about them!!He went on and on about how far it was to get to us… I apologized and said “I thought you were in Duluth.” He said “We are”… I live the same distance from Duluth as Hermantown and I am sure he has business up there… but after dealing with him I am surprised they have business anywhere.He gave a big sigh and said… OK what is your name and phone number… I told him to not worry about it… I will continue to call around for tree people…The bid we got from the other two companies we called were $6.5K and $6.8K for all the work we wanted done. I guess the job was just not big enough for them or it was too much work for them.

Duluth Tree Service (DTS) is an outstanding company. I called the office for an estimate at about 8am; Hans called back within minutes; and we had a quote for our job by the end of the day. After a week of calls to other companies, only one other came out to give us a quote, and they were more than 30% more than DTS. Although DTS was ten weeks out, they followed through with every date they set. Finally, on the day they came out, they completed our big and complicated project in less than four hours: six medium-sized spruces removed, one medium-sized basswood removed; four stumps ground out; and they even removed a 70 feet dark spruce threatening both our house and our neighbors! Finally, they cleaned up so well; it was like they were never even here. They even gave us these great t-shirts displaying their logo. The skill and professionalism of DTS is truly outstanding, amazing, and awesome!

We are completely impressed by Duluth Tree Service! We had about 12 or so trees cut down in our yard last week and the guys that came out were amazing! They are extremely effecient and hard working. We had a three man crew who worked really well together and got a ton of work done, more than we thought possible, even getting a tree down safely that was close to our house. They went the extra mile and got so much wood ready for us to use as firewood, even stacking it up for us in our yard. They even raked up the stray branches! We cant say enough great things about their work ethic, endurance, and strength with what they accomplished for us. They did in a day what would have taken us a month! We highly recommend this very hard working and motivated team to get the job done safely, efficiently, and correctly.
