Owned a series of the same vehicles. High end euro cars. Purchased my own exhaust, called these blokes and asked if they could install it. They agreed they could do this simple task. Mind you I’ve had this job done many times in the past. Usually around a hundred dollars. This time a 400$+ job! Owner stated that they had to patch a hole (the size of a half dollar). I expected around 200$? He dropped the bill and attempted some half a$$ed joke about my brand of vehicle. As if that would make the labor price ok with me? So let me get this straight…I bring you and exhaust, you install it in maybe a half hour. Plus the maybe an hour to weld the patch….400$+???? Hopefully this place in under new management since I was in last. Bottom line…Do yourself a favor look elsewhere for honest work.

Had a slight tire emergency tonight. A nearby gas stations pump ended up taking more air out than it put in. I drove over to Meineke in hope that I could get some help.Paul greeted me and asked how he could help. Turns out they had closed and the compressor was shut off, but he was willing to turn it back on and help me out. I was super pleased that he could give us a hand given the circumstances. This is the kind of service a good business runs on. Thanks Paul!

I would pay to have these mechanics never pick up a wrench again. It was a waste of my time and sanity to bring my car here. For 7 weeks I was told they would fix it tomorrow. 7 weeks!! For the price of the labor I could have bought a new car. Paul is trying to run his own business into the ground and I will happily watch it fail.Take your vehicle literally anywhere else.

Paul is extremely unprofessional. I had to drive my roommate around for over 7 weeks since Paul kept promising that the car would be ready soon. Not only that, but he kept claiming that there were more and more problems with it that absolutely had to be taken care of. Dishonest and sexist. When I went with my roommate to pick up the car, he ushered us out the door when I was asking him simple questions about how exactly the work was done. He didnt know or couldnt remember. Doesnt make sense to me.

Was supposed to have an appointment, showed up on time, and was basically told... Wellll, can you get a ride home? Gunna be a while. Im backed up. No phone call, nothing to let me know theyd be late. Not only did I take time off, but I lost 2 hours of my day, plus a wasted trip to dover for this. Would highly recommend JDR Automotive/or Milton Garage for any/all service needs. Wont be returning here.

Took 2.5 hours to get an oil change after the time I was told they could take my car. employees ripped apart my glove box in the process and didnt bother returning it to the state they found it. other people had been waiting there several hours longer than myself for small tasks for their cars, I felt bad. Should have just driven the 15 minutes to Rochester while the Dover PROMPTO is temporarily closed. Wish I didnt waste my time here. Manager was kind despite the shops problems. wont be coming back here again.

Got to say that based on some previous reviews I would not use this business for service but it was the only service station that my car could limp to. It was making a horrible grinding sound from the front passenger wheel, I thought for sure it was a bad wheel bearing and thought there goes $600 plus I knew at this late hour it wasnt getting fixed tonight and I was more than an hour from home with no easy ride to be had. I parked the truck and walked into a busy reception area where the fellow behind the counter read my facial expression and asked me what was wrong. Told him what I expected was the problem and after a short discussion he had one of the mechanics clear a lift and instructed him what to look for. 15 minutes later I was driving down the highway my truck good as new. Turns out it was just a faulty backer plate that was rubbing against a moving part. The charge for the service was so very reasonable. If the previous reviews are to be believed I would have been taken advantage of but not the case at all. I highly recommend this establishment it is top notch in my opinion. Paul at Meineke was honest and efficient. He went out of the way to be transparent in showing me exactly what what was wrong with my vehicle and explaining the options available to me. He found parts that I requested from the options he gave me, and my vehicle runs like new.I would absolutely recommend folks come to Meineke for an honest and positive experience.

Paul, the owner, is so friendly. He kept me company and we chatted while his team did the oil change. The car is a Mercedes Benz C230 kompressor, I called over 10 mechanics/body shops and Paul’s place was the only one who would take me. They ordered the filter same day.

I cant stress enough how much people should avoid this place. They totally made up extra work for my vehicle. I brought it to a different shop and they fixed it for a fraction of the price and said they saw none of the issues that Meineke claimed were there.Anyone whos dealt with these jokers wont be surprised to know that they dont wear masks and think pandemic safety is a joke.If I could give them Negative Ten stars, I would.STAY AWAY.

My experience was wonderful. I brought my car to this Meineke location for a state inspection. When my car was inspected, I was told that the bearings to the front control arms needed replacing but what impressed me was that the mechanic brought me into the shop to show me exactly what the component was and why it needed replacing. The mechanic likes to teach people how their cars worked so they understand why their parts need replacing and be honest with them. This Meineke believes in transparency and honesty. This Meineke has certainly earned my trust. P.S. the Dogs are cute too.

Wont return here unfortunately.No one inside was wearing face masks or coverings which was not a great start. Was told the state inspection for my car was going to take an hour, maybe 5-10 minutes more than that because they were finishing up another vehicle. They said theyd call once it was complete. 2 hours later I came back despite not having heard from them, my car was sitting in their lot not being worked on. I went inside and asked and they said it was all done just needed to print out the sticker. I waited another 20 minutes for them to simply print out a sticker.

Outstanding service! I ran into car trouble on a road trip, so I was nowhere near home. I stopped in to Meineke and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating! He got my car in and fixed in under an hour, despite being very busy. The price was very reasonable. I couldnt believe how quickly my car was fixed and I was back on my way. Cant recommend enough!

I brought my car in for state inspection. I should have known from past experience that this place tries to add unnecessary services for a ridiculous price. They tried to say that my front bumper wasnt properly attached, because one corner was slightly protruding. The car passed inspection last year in the identical condition at another very reputable and very honest garage. This place wanted $75 dollars to do the repair. Another body shop reattached the bumper in five minutes at no charge. This shyster is still telling me the bumper isnt properly attached. NEVER GO HERE, HE WILL TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

Thoroughly crooked!Failed brake inspection on 8 points, when they were pristine a year ago. Quoted a price of 49 for oil change and inspection, then informed that the car only takes synthetic, and the price would be more. The manual says 5w is fine. They were instructed to use 5W, and they agreed. Then handed a bill for 100, for $20 and synthetic oil, which I had declined

Neighbor went there took total advantage, this place should be shut down, here is the short car needed abs sensor, and actuator motor, they claimed it was fuel they spent thousands, said they would have to come back several times to have the fuel flushed, there and theres nothing wrong with the fuel

The owner Paul is terrificI have a feeling he took a little bit of a loss on our cars repairs but he gained 2 new loyal customers.Wed taken our car to someplace else to get it inspected and were told it needed $1,200 in repairs. We called around and Paul said he could beat their price. Now we have our car AND a completely trustworthy professional business owner with whom I plan to do business with from now on!Max is a great Service Advisor. His quiet demeanor and occasional suggestions are very reassuring. Hes good looking too. Did I mention he likes his head scratched?

Fair, friendly, and flexible! Paul has a great team at the shop and their friendly & furry representative Max has a great eye (and tail) for customer service. Theyve always been prompt for any work Ive needed, willing to stay late to meet a promised deadline, and clearly communicate what work theyre doing—including keeping a careful eye out for anything that might pop up as an issue in the future. My jeep has been in great hands with them and will continue to be for a while!

Went in with a noise that was muffler/exhaust related. Called at 8am and dropped car at 9am - they put new bolts by noon and charged $95 - great service and reasonable price since my husband who is handy with cars did not want to attempt this project because of where the bolts were located. The owner waited on me and was a nice, helpful man. My son and I enjoyed meeting the dog, MAX. Good experience all around.

Got my 01 Civic quiet again all while saving me a few $$!

I was leaking oil from my 2004 Subaru Outback. I brought it to Meineke in Dover because of the good reviews I saw on Google (and its walking distance from my house). I dropped it off when they were closing and within an hour of them opening the next day they called me if I was comfortable with the labor costs to remove undercarriage cover. A half an hour later they told me that I needed a new head gasket. They gave me a great price, but it was going to have a long wait time. They had an overflow of work and didnt have the machinery to grind the cylinder heads on site. I decided to go to a different company that had a shorter wait time since I dont have another mode of transportation (which was more expensive). When I came back in for my car, Paul was extremely nice and made sure the other company wasnt giving me a bad price. He also informed me of the process to fix the head gaskets to help me when speaking with this other company. All in all, Im very happy with this interaction. They went beyond what I expected.

Customer service was ok. I cant speak for their workmanship. I didnt like the price I was charged just to evacuate freon from my car. $75 to connect 2 hoses and press a button on a machine that does it automatically seems like too much. It took about 15 minutes.I gave them an extra star for taking care of me right away.

Went to this shop for a year before wising up. Spent $1,000+ Over the course of a year for maintenance. Because of the amount I spent my next inspection was supposed to be on the house. Made three separate appointments (over the phone AND verifying minutes before I went in) for said inspection only to be turned away for various reasons each time. Zero respect for the time I had to take away from work for nothing and zero respect for customer loyalty. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE.

After receiving an estimate for an exhaust repair from a different local shop, I called this Meineke for a second opinion. The owner was willing to accommodate me while it was short notice and went out of his way to provide prompt service, including ordering parts. He was able to remedy the exhaust for almost 1/3 of the cost of the prior shop, and took an additional amount off because I was extremely cost sensitive. Not only did I experience excellent service but the owner was personable and even offered me some of his lunch after I came in visibly distressed 😅I will 100% return!

Since moving to the seacoast in July my boyfriend and I have had to take our cars in to be serviced 3-5 times. Meineke is less than a mile away from us. Paul always greets us and is great to his customers. It is never fun having car issues, but his team always gets things done in a timely manner. At first we went to Meineke because of the close location and now we go by choice as we have had such great experience.Thank you!

I took a 2001 Ford for inspection at which point was failed by Vaughn and Paul told me the car has oil leaking onto the manifold. He said I also needed brake lights. He quoted me $250 This car with only 39000 origin miles, I took to the car wash and power washed it. Brought it back and Vaughn passed it. The point is Meineke is a sham and the break lights were working. I felt exhilarating because I knew what I was doing and called their bluff!! Shame on you Paul!!. I will never go back to meineke on central Ave in Dover again!!!!

They told me my car would not pass inspection without a new headlight and then tried to sell me the exact same lightbulb (exact same packaging, barcode, and part/model numbers) that I had already informed them was in the car’s glove box. They then called the police on me after I asked them to refund me the cost of the lightbulb - $157. They used my family’s customer history to contact my mother who is not on any of the car’s paperwork to demand I make them whole for their attempted scam by giving them my personal property. They then called the police on me for not giving them the lightbulb I already owned to make it “even”. Worst customer service experience of my life. I will never return.

Ive found a new garage that really understands the urgency customers sometimes come up against. Will never go anywhere else. Have brought my cars here every year for inspection, 5/6 times I have brought my cars here, they have passed with no issues, the other time was for a light that I knew was out. They are honest in their vehicle inspections and dont falsify their findings. They have never done work on my vehicles without calling to give me a price first. I had my tires replaced here earlier this year, and Paul called local businesses to see what they would charge then sold me my new tires at a discount of the average. I called around to double check, and found that he was being truthful about the figure. He has always gone above and beyond and can always get my car in that day, usually for less than I was quoted somewhere else. I have stopped going anywhere else and always call Paul first. They represent old fashioned customer service oriented care, which is something I hold high value to.

Went to three garages before this one. The other garages I took my car to the people were rude and prices were ridiculous. I stop into Meineke on my way back home to get an inspection and brakes. I told the owner and he said ok we will take a look. He called me an hour later and said the car does not need brakes they need to be cleaned and adjusted. I got off the phone and said to my wife wow there is still a honest mechanic out there. Also the owner and I were talking while the car was finishing up and he was honest and very nice. Not many people out there left like him. Bring your car to this garage you will not be disappointed.

If there were negative reviews possible, I would do it. I brought my car in multiple times after ordering a part through them. They took my car in for a whole day, took it apart, when they realized that the part was wrong. So instead of returning my car promptly, they worked on other cars and kept my car for a 9 hour day. The manager is dishonest and uncaring. Going to local places is a much better idea!!!!

All other garages told me take it to the dealership, we dont want to mess with it!! Here they did exactly as I asked, informed me that it could be a waste of money, but said theyd do it anyway if I wanted them too!!! Believed, I lucked out!!! Very friendly service/staff. Was having trouble with breaks so instead of calling the dealership I decided to call Meineke in Dover NH. Spoke to Paul who told me to bring the car in that afternoon. The work was done within a couple of hours. The service we recieved was fantastic. Paul was a great guy who worked with us and explained in detail the problem the car was having and gave us a great deal. I would recommend Meineke located in Dover without a second thought.

I have no idea where all these negative reviews are coming from, this place was great! I hit some highway junk and broke up my exhaust, Paul fixed it up at a very reasonable price and got me out the door in just over an hour. Top marks! Ill definitely make a return trip if my car breaks again.

Tried to give it no stars but couldnt. dishonest is the best way to describe this place. do not go here for an inspection - they will find a reason to fail you and even if the reason is not legit you still have to go fix it because NH has no way to protect the customers from fraudulent places like this.

I needed a car inspection done. Paul worked with my schedule to get me in as soon as possible. Once in, they were done in 45 minutes. Easy and friendly, I would recommend this place so far based on my experience.

Did not perform any service and charged me $75. Brought it in on thursday and nothing was done all weekend. Had to take my car back so I could go to work on Monday. Sleazy. Not to mentioned I emailed customer service and never got a response...

I had lost my brakes one day, I called Meineke and spoke to Paul, and made an appointment for the following day at 9am. I knew that I was leaking brake fluid and needed it fixed. Paul called me later that day and said that I had a broken brake line and rear cylinder. He said that he may have to pull the gas tank and that it would probable not be done that day. I tried to rent a car at Enterprise, but none was available. I told Paul that I did not have ride. Paul and his crew worked two hour past closing time to finish up my car so that I could have that night. Paid 400$ to get front brakes changed(pads rotors and caliper) and not 20 minutes after leaving the shop my caliper bolts came undone and wheel locked on the highway. Thanks. Never again.

Owner Paul is a bad man.. Overcharged me, my brother and various co-workers. Not accurate with wait times and replaces parts that do not need fixing. Last time I went in I saw a complete stranger yelling at Paul because he got screwed also! Stay away from this place!

I HAVE A 2001 SUBARU LEGACY WAGON. THAT WOULD NOT PASS NH. STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE OF THE EXHAUST. I WENT TO LOCAL SUBARU DEALER & WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF ALMOST 900.00 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THING. I SAID NO WAY ON A 15 YEAR OLD CAR. I CALLED MEINEKE & TALKED TO CHRIS .TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN FOR A LOOK. 280.00 LATER I DROVE OUT WITH A REPAIRED SYSTEM . GOOD FOR ANOTHER 2 TO 3 YRS. THEY CUT OUT THE ROTTED FLANGES & WELDED IN SLEEVES. LEFT VERY HAPPY.

1. My coworker warned me after I dropped off my SUV that the owner/manager was a shyster (his words).2. I had them fix something to do with my struts/suspension before a trip to NYC. On the second day down there, the bolts that they re-used snapped, leaving my vehicle undrivable. He paid for the Meineke down there to fix it, but I paid for the almost-$100 tow to get there, and it took a whole day out of my vacation.3. Recently, my friend, whose English is not very good paid way more than he thought he would be paying for a simple tune up and inspection. When I spoke with the manager on the phone, he said to tell my friend if you want to drive like a sport, you have to pay like a sport. I saw another reviewer was told this, as well. Chalk this one up to miscommunication if youd like.4. Im hesitant to write this one, but when I was there picking up my car for #3, lets just say one of the guys must have thought we were close enough buddies to do something that most people would find really inappropriate.

Paul , the guy who runs the place did not redeem the Mieneke coupons that were sent by mail when I showed it to him when he stated the final bill which was in excess of !$500. I automatically qualified for a $50 discount for work done beyond $500 but he said I will not honor it. I took my own parts to the shop so he probably could not make money on parts out of neand gence denied me the discount. Be carefull about the procing when you go here. Talk about the coupons you have first up even if you bring in your own parts. Dont know if he will honor it even then.

First I go in to talk about a noise in the front of my Lexus and I get told that it needs a ball joint which is gonna be expensive under 1000 I asked for a quote as that was high and was told if I wanna drive like a sport then I can pay like a sport. very rude and he didnt get my business.

I like many find reviews extremely useful but also misleading. Lets be honest here... I was concerned about the negative feedback provided about finding extra work, high prices, etc... Seriously??? If a car came in for a state inspection and or repairs doesnt it make sense that they should be finding any and all issues wrong with your car that you were unaware of? All I can say when I read these type of negative feedback is MORONS.Anyways, I need to get back on track and focus on providing you a fair account of the great service/experience I received today.Let me assure you when I say that I am not an employee, friend, or family of anyone at this location rather an active duty military member who is making preparations to transfer cross country and needed some repairs to my 2009 GMC Sierra prior to our travels. I have nothing but positive remarks concerning my experience with the Dover Meineke and the service they provided me over the last two days ( 05/14/2014 - 05/15/2014).In an attempt to paint a detailed picture of my positive experience let me break down the sequence of events for you. After having significant difficulties getting my truck in to various garages around down in a timely manner I contacted Meineke on 05/14 at approximately 10:00 and asked if they would be able to get my truck in sometime in the next couple of days. I not only received an estimate of all work to be completed (i.e. Rotors, Pads, Clips, Air Conditioning, Oil Change, Tire Rotation, Tire Balance, etc...) but I was told they could get me in immediately. Upon my arrival to the location at approximately 3:30 I was greeted by the owner and was advised that he will do his best to have my repairs completed prior to closing and that he would contact me with any additional repairs. As promised, I was quickly contacted and advised that my vehicles brakes were worse than I had originally expected and was recommended to have further repairs completed. Naturally, understanding the importance of needing to stop I agreed to the repairs and was advised that I could pick ol red up 05/14 at 10:00. True to military fashion... On time your late, and early your on time, my wife and I arrived at the shop at 9:00 only to find my truck being backed out by the owner for a test drive. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT!!!! The work was completed an hour early.Prior to check out I was shown all of my old parts and the disrepair they were in, which explains the reason I was being shaken every time I applied the brakes, and the provided a detailed brake down of parts and labor associated with the repairs which matched the estimate I received over the phone. I was then asked if I had any coupons and was advised if I did not that I could go to Meinekes website from my smartphone and any coupon I wanted to use all I had to do was show them my phone and they would accept it. After looking at the coupons the owner advised me that the military discount he offers beats all the coupons I showed him and asked which discount I would like to use. Naturally, I went with the one that is going to keep the most money in my pocket. The appropriate discount was deducted and I was able to pay with my major credit card, I received all copies, a friendly handshake, and a smile.Now the true test.... The back roads in and around Dover, Somersworth, and South Berwick. Talk about stop signs, bumps, road construction, etc... Truck run and drives just like new and when I brake its as smooth as a babys bottom. I could not be happier with the service to include but not limited to the timeliness, the price, the customer service, etc...Great job!!!! You have my thumbs up and my solid recommendation.

Failed my state inspection as ny car had a dent. He offered to fix it and try to make money off of me. Im not going there again.Ill tell every one I know to avoid this place.

My experience with them was not good, and they were expensive.

They had my cars brakes done in a reasonable amount of time, but they double charged me for my oil change.
