I am new here but so far so good. I have been wanting a gym with a pool and they had to do some construct but now they are up and running. I was in contact with the GM and she was extremely helpful. Im pleased.

From the outside it doesn’t look like there’s a gym but once you arrived at the facility it’s spacious. Also there’s a lot of trainers and the equipment they have it’s good compare to blink, planet fitness and La fitness. Would recommend to others to join.

Today was one of those days that I reserve a class in the app , went to the gym at 7:48 AM I went to my locker put my stuff inside the locker lock my locker and head out to my cycling class.The class finish at 8:45 AM after that I did couple machines then I went back to my locker at 9:35 AMWhen I was trying to open my locker but my the door was broken. I went running to the staff The manager told me you need to call 911 the manager was really calm. I call 911 because all my belongings were stolen I went downstairs to check if they stole my car also thank God they did not.I did wait for the cops almost for 30 minutes and they show up I told the officer the whole story what happened, they went upstairs to check the locker and they find my bag in another locker. They stole my jewelry my money and one blue LV belt. They left behind my car key and my other phone.The first thing they say they’re not responsible for stolen items in the locker room I told the manager please speak to you employees I will not press charges I just need to get my stuff back she said no I cannot do that the police have to take action on the situation. They cannot show the camera videos because it’s corporate now is a big process for everything.but when I sign up for New York sports club they did not call corporate to get my money.If I was not secure at your NYSC I would’ve signed up for planet fitness for $10 a month,please I need this to be resolved as soon as possible thank you.Please I don’t want to take this to the newsThat happened today 6/4/ 21

This gym is a tiny bit expensive but it is very clean, the equipment is spread out nicely so everyone has ample space, and the staff is friendly. Overall, I really like it!

Back in the gym after COVID-19...I have a trainer who put me through some moderate body weight exercises...well increase the duration and intensity gradually over the next few weeks.

Great Workout!

I have tried cancelling for over 6 months (including sending a letter... they dont let you cancel any other way), yet Im still getting charged!! Completely unethical, and I dont see how this is legal. If you do a quick google search you will see that this is a common complaint since the pandemic. Unlike other struggling businesses, apparently NYSC has no reservations about forcefully taking money from their members on the way out.Update:I get weekly phone calls asking me to re-join. I have called to get my number removed from their calling list several times with no success... what a joy this place has been...

I try not to go here due to lack of sanitizing.This gym is the worse for the showers ! Worse for the equipment ! I understand wipe before and after the equipment , but regardless it’s still has stains . Not sure from over the years of sweat or what . The women showers are always filled with hair or looks to be grout on tiles.You would think a gym that has a lot of members would be able to afford a good cleaning staff or materials to clean this gym !As well no matter how many reviews this gym gets clearly the owner doesn’t care about his customers since nothing has changed -since I been here .

I love this gym. I came here from LA fitness and I have to say - what a breath of fresh air. The staff are nothing more than polite and accommodating! Not to mention the place is super clean and all the machines are working and have their working parts!

Super convenient and not packed

As you walk into the building, you are barely acknowledged by the group of staff talking about inappropriate things or doing something else on their phones. They will hand you a dirty towel which has been used to clean sweat, equipment, toilets, and etc. Walking into the daycare room is a nightmare. The young girl working in there has not training on how to handle children. The last time I brought my daughter there, there was a smaller child THROWING CHAIRS across the room. The girl left the other children with my husband and me while she fetched the childs parent. Walking into the locker rooms is nasty. Dirty, sweaty towels EVERYWHERE. Out of all the cardio machines, usually at least 5 of the machines are out of order. The walls along the back left of the weights section is filled with wide open holes (that have been there since at least January 2019). Most times, the weights are anywhere but placed back on the racks. I was at this gym two nights ago and had the last drop in my cup. I needed some open space for free squatting. I asked the front desk attendant if there was a good reason for the studio to be locked while there was a class with two people in there. She prompted me to squat along the corridors because some people do that. I asked to speak to a manager and was simply told no. That goes without saying that there is typically no background music. ONE water fountain. The televisions dont always work. This gym is a joke. Prisoners have better gyms than this...

This place is simply not the same and its heading in the wrong direction. Im going to rate all New York sports clubs in the area a 3.5. Ive been going to them for many years now and what can I say? There has been a steady decline in membership and quality help because of competition. I primarily have gone there to swim, use the steam room and sauna, shower and shave. The members keep the place going but management just falls short of the eyes necessary to keep them the great facilities that they once were. Yes, they are very diverse clubs and they offer a wide range of things to do to keep yourself fit. There was a time when they were the leader in this area. Competition has brought membership down thus lack of employees and standards diminish. However, I am very picky but I do recommend New York sports clubs to those who want a full service club with a variety of things to do. Enjoy!! Lots of renovations too.

Place is always packed, not enough weight machines and so many of them are broken?? They do have great spin instructors though.

This gym is a disgrace and an insult to the residents of the Rivertowns it serves. The gym is in a complete state of disrepair. The equipment is unusable as half of it is in a constant state of disrepair and the lockers and equipment look like they haven’t been cleaned properly in years. Whoever NYSC has running and maintaining this location needs to be fired as the neglect for this location shows a complete disregard and contempt for the members. Additionally, the staff are more interested in ordering their pizzas and chatting with friends vs going around and actually cleaning and picking up weights. (To be fair there are 1-2 good employees). Either show a strong commitment to update the gym and retrain your staff or I and our corporation will cancel their partnership.

Staff is friendly. Due to the small size and limited equipment it does get crowded; however it is still far superior than LA Fitness on a good day. The clientele is more lax and notably nicer. A lot of older people here. Parking is easy, too. Could do without the expensive yearly membership fee in top of the monthly fee. So far I am satisfied.

I really liked this gym but Ive been trying to get in contact with the General Manager Ramfis Lara since 1/31/19. I have sent three emails since then because I was told by an employee of this gym to contact the GM about a situation. I havent gotten a single response since. What a way to treat a member of your gym.

Kind, Courteous front desk staff. Madelina at the front desk is a perfect example of exemplary customer service. She always brings a smile to my face in the morning. She should be commended.The gym has good lighting, a great selection of cardio and weight training equipment as well. The personal training staff is friendly as well. James in particular is a kind, caring and positive personal trainer. I would highly recommend him. I will be joining this gym because of the great front desk staff, trainers and overall shape of the gym for the price point. It is not as clean as Equinox, but you are also paying 100 dollars less a month as a member. So I think it is more then adequate. Its a great value and can be cancelled at anytime.

We are Silver Sneaker members and this club welcomed us with an open arm. People are friendly and courteous. Plenty of equipment to workout for my wife. I enjoy the pool a great deal. Towels are always available and the locker room is clean.

Have been trying unsuccessfully to cancel my membership since february. no answers via email. club closed. no one answers phone. anyone have suggestions? already called Amex who stated that I am unable to block an auto payment.. and the charges may still come through even if I close my amex account. smh!!!

All the equipment you need but something about the frenetic atmosphere and pace of this gym, I dont like maybe its too cramped.

Staff is always incredibly pleasant and helpful. This club is not brand-new and has a few dents. However, the price/service ratio is excellent and thats why I give it 5 stars. I am aware that there are absolutely spotless clubs out there, but I would also have to pay a huge price for a bit more luxury. Overall, the NYSports Club works perfectly for me.

One of the worst gyms I’ve ever been to

Just joined the gym s month ago. Everyone is very attentive and helpful. The trainers James and Devone are spectacular! Its spacious and has all the equipment you could need, a heated pool, full court basket ball. Check it out you wont be disappointed!

Quit this club after one month. Its not for athletes. Kicked out of pool after 28 minutes. In the middle of 1 hour training. Was told that there is 30 minute time limit. What kind of club has a 30 minute time limit for exercise and training? Nobody returns calls. Not professional club.

THE TRAINERS AND A LOT OF THE STAFF ARE GREAT!!This place gets decents reviews because of the staff, but it needs to be held accountable. This place is horribly managed, and unclean for the most part.NYSC corporate has awful customer services and BS contracts that are really restrictive and its reflective with management at each location. The managers are not transparent and evasive when you need help.Youre better off with either a cheaper gym like Blink or a more expensive one like Equinox and if u want a trainer, private can be cheaper and youll get way better service while giving your money to an individual rather than corporation.But for real, this in place in between IS NOT WORTH IT!

The gym is dirty. The classes and instructors are very good, but the rooms are never cleaned! Water fountain has pink mold on it. Bathrooms are always a mess. You are handed a wrinkled towel from the front desk. Th staff is nice. and welcoming but immature and do not accomplish the tasks at hand .This is a hang out for the staff, no one is responsible.

I recently joined this gym and seeing the other reviews i completely disagree, the machinery is always clean, classes are fun, the class instructors are great and motivating, classes are not crowded, and people mind their own business. I go with my friend to most classes such as yoga boot camp and cycling, we also use the equipment and the showers are clean and soaps are always full. My only complaint is the high price (29.99 a month) and the fact the staff gives no tour or information when you sign up, i had to learn about lockers, what to bring with me, etc. by myself. Overall the gym is fantastic!

Nice clean facility, staff is pretty cool. Great basketball run Saturday mornings. Not the biggest gym so it can get a little crowded in the weight lifting area.

I cant believe people complain about this site. It is quite nice, clean, and with much parking. Many cardio machines of all types, everything was quite clean too.

After a full week of free trial, I have made a decision that I wont be coming back because of the sanitary situation. The womens locker room was dirty every single morning and I have been there for 5 days in a row. Showers were filled with hair, there was mold on the walls behind the soap shelf and tiles had old soap stains.After the free trial a manager called me and said that they hired more janitors and that if I dont like it I have 10 days to cancel the membership. So I came back. Yes, the place was cleaner a little bit but the difference was not big. For the past 4 months of my membership I saw the stains of sweat almost on each cardio machines, the handles were sticky, the holders for water bottles were dusty and overall everything looked old, dirty and dusty. A lot of equipments make squeaky sounds, some dont even work smoothly and some dont even work at all. Because of this it takes time to find good cardio machine.Weight machines, they looked like they have not been cleaned up at all - super dusty. Once I asked the front desk to give me a cloth so I can clean the machine myself. They gave me a white towel which they gave to customers. Ok, I cleaned it myself, but I should not have to. The next day I finally saw a janitor vacuuming the gym so I asked him to clean the machine I was using. He was offended, but he cleanend it. Worse thing is they turned the heater on! Therefore I couldnt even excersise longer than 8 minutes on the cardio machines. It almost seemed impossible to work out in a dusty, hot room. It was December when I spoke again with 3rd manager, hoping they would fix the problems, but nothing has changed since September. When I left the Gym, they kept charging me for 45 days and a $10 cancelation fee on top. This was the worst gym I have ever gone to because I have tried 7 different gyms, Bliss in Yonkers, Equalizer, 24 hours Fitness in Yonkers and Scarsdale, Planet of fitness in Yonkes and Scarsdale and LA Fitness in Rige Hill mall.NYSC in Dobbs ferry is in a desperate needs new working equipment and clean environment with proper ventilation.

I’ve been to a few NYSC in the area and this one by far is my least favorite. I work down the road and out of convince I was coming here but I won’t any longer. What turned me off the most aside from the fact that it’s small , dirty and there is always equipment issues, is the management in particular the rude from desk girl and the guy who manages this gym. Unprofessional and arrogant. I would recommend Nysc to my friends just not this location.

I swim a few times a month in the evening at the Dobbs NYSC. Most of the lifeguards seem bored and restless. They often appear to be staring at their cell phones, and worse, they often leave the pool area entirely. When they do leave, I have seen them sometimes sit at a table in the next room (other side of a glass wall) - occasionally looking up from their cell phones to check on the swimmers through the window. I have seen a few lifeguards disappear from view entirely for up to 5 minutes. This has happened several times.I was recently the only swimmer in the pool - and when the lifeguard left the pool room (and was completely out of sight for several minutes), I felt I had to get out of the pool for my own safety. Doesn’t NYSC realize that this is a safety issue? The role of the lifeguard is to keep a close eye on the swimmers at all times. The sign on the wall says that swimmers cannot swim unattended!I have complained several times over the last several months, but nothing appears to change. One manager told me that no one has ever complained about this problem before, while another manager said that she thought they had “fixed this problem.” Obviously, these are inconsistent statements.One of these days, someone is going to get in trouble (stroke, heart attack, whatever) while swimming in the pool and the lifeguard won’t be paying close enough attention to help.

The staff is friendly, professional and they know their business. Always ready to help. The place is clean well stocked and plenty of machines.

Bad customer services, I cancel my membership and they still charging me!! When I realize I went to let them know the problem, but they never fix it so I cancel my credit card so they call me from collections!! They are just a thief!!

Wish it was better. This club has become a filthy pit and more a community playground than a sports club. The locker rooms are filthy, the staff doesnt care. You join, you pay, and every month it gets worse. The kids parties have become a major revenue source, so you will often find them all over the club and in the pool. The pool lanes are narrow, and all but one are often closed because of swim lessons. If you are thinking of joining, check out the club around 6P or on weekends. Oh yeh, the room where you take classes is never clean -- even instructors and teachers joke about how filthy and dirty this club is. There is another club opening soon -- cant wait to blow out of this pit. $75/month is a ripoff.

Clean and well maintained gym. what can you ask for more when a gym has a swimming pool and basketball court! there is also a child care center which i need to try out at some point. compared to another NYSC location i frequent in manhattan, this is luxurious!

The gym could be a lot cleaner, and a lot of the equipment is dated and in need of repair/replacement. I cancelled after 3 months as there are better options in town.

Gym is clean, lockers decent. Has heated pool and a basketball court which always seems to be hogged up by regulars.

Dobbs Ferry NYSC has two new Lifestyle treadmills which is better than any Ive tried. Would recommend replacing some of the older treadmills with this type. I mentioned this to Sara and she encouraged me to write a review.

Update April, 2021:Last year Town Sports International was sold and is under new management. Dobbs Ferry reopened in September 2020, approximately six months after Covid 19 was forced to shut down most businesses. I was told that the towel service was suspended because the vendor did not comply with Covid standards. I wish I knew if that service will be reinstated. Overall the gym is very clean. The cleaning staff is cleaning non-stop as I can see. The locker rooms are in decent shape with a limited number of lockers available. That is of course to keep - yes, what else -social distance. The same applies to some machines which are taped off. I was told that ~130 persons were allowed at any given time on the floor back in January. So far it has not been crowded. The max. number I have experienced was ~50. Showers are open between 8-12p and 4-8p. The policy of using the showers is explained differently, dependent on who you ask. The outer four of the six shower stalls (male locker room) do not have a sign of do-not-use. The Sauna and pool remain closed (the pool is drained). Hairdryers are not available anymore. Soap, shower gel, conditioner, and lotion remain available as well as a hand dryer, facial tissue, paper towels. When you enter the club you take your temperature yourself (contactless). The front desk asks about any symptoms and check-in and out, so the club has a count of people at any time to comply with NY State regulations.Old review:Club has good amount of equipment. Towel service is a plus. Showers recently have shown a temperature control problem. The sauna requires a long term cleaning on its floor. I wish battery operated device would be banned in the sauna as they may explode under high temperatures.

This gym is ok. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is great and really cool. I just wish they had some of the newer equipment and equipment that isn’t broken ALL the time. 1 thing that bothers me is the have the tv on some of the machines but can’t watch them without plugging in headphones (I have Bluetooth) it would just be nice to watch it even if you can’t hear it instead of looking at a blank screen..... and don’t get me started on the punching bag, they have in a studio towards the middle of the room so you can’t use it. There’s ALWAYS some sort of class in there. It should be moved so members can actually use it, for the price of the gym and it’s location, it can be a lot better. It represents more to an urban area rather then a upscale area which Dobbs Ferry is. I’m sure some sort of staff will see this and somehow make my experience worse but it’s the truth. This place needs a Re-haul bad!! I’ve been thinking of going to another gym even though it’s out of my way just for a better experience

Wish I could rate it a minus 1. Dobbs Ferry is the worst NYSC ever. The pool is never enforced about showers pre-swim and swim caps. The classes are over crowded. Equipment is never wiped down. Oh and the parking. Employees do not park in employee lot, so members have to park in the open lot. No towels anymore. Soap not filled in showers. And the kids in the pool make it more like a community center than a sports club. The locker room is a disaster. How does a place like this stay in business? Management is not responsive. The person at the desk will not give an email of the manager. They charge to cancel, but Im out of here this summer. I think management has decided this club doesnt matter. DISASTER -- BAD -- TERRIBLE -- REALLY BAD - PUTRID - SMELLY -- POOR - AWFUL.

NYSC in Dobbs Ferry has a very inviting and knowledgeable staff of trainers whose goal is to continually improve your fitness level. Parking has become easier with the opening of the new parking lot.

After today my membership will be canceled. I used to love this location but over the last 6 months things have just been mediocre at best. Machines broken, the baby sitting club not allowing kids to have their snacks anymore among other things that were not like this when I first joined almost 2 yrs ago! And this review is in no way directed to the wonderful people who actually work at the babysitting club, they are awesome, especially Jordan and this other lovely young Latina woman who always greets my child any time she sees him at the front desk. Today I was approached by this nasty unprofessional woman named Trish ( I spoke to her once before when I inquired about my membership over the phone and she was nasty then too simply bc I was actually asking questions about my membership but I just took it as someone having a bad day) last night I was walking down to the parking after dropping off my child at babysitting to get something from my car before going right back to do my work out, she stopped me as I was walking back after my workout in the middle of the floor in front of the staff/ main entrance and stated rudely after pointing me out in front of everyone saying excuse me excuse me! members are not allowed to leave at any point. I was completely confused considering Ive been attending there for almost 2 yrs and Im very familiar w the staff, they all call my child by his name whenever we walk in .... I dont know who this woman is but Ive seen her be rude to others as well. I said ok is that new bc Ive had plenty of conversations since being a member of how babysitting works and Ive never heard of this not being able to go downstairs to my car to grab something. Her response was well then you should read the contract Then I called after I left and politely asked to speak to vinny the manager who Ive interacted w plenty of times and she picked up the phone and blatantly said oh I just spoke to you, yea vinny wont be getting back to you but you can call back tomorrow and so and so can explain our policies to you or I can just cancel your membership right now “( with an attitude ) I responded with please have some one from management call me and thank you so much for offering to cancel my membership simply bc I politely requested to speak with someone her response are you sure I cant just cancel your membership now?? And then proceeded to hang up on me while I was still speaking... not professional or customer friendly. Great gym! Has everything and a informative/friendly staff.

I’m not the first time use the nysc service, but this will be the last time I use that. I quit the account at March, they have 45 days cancel policy. It should stop charge from May 05, but it keeps charging me all the time...the manager didn’t pick up the phone and response the email... I will never come any more....so very disappointed about them...

Locker rooms are clean. Parking is free. Plenty of classes to chose from and no charge if you miss a class you booked previously scheduled.

I joined at the end of 2015 because NYSC offers a variety of classes as well as weights&cardio machines. I really wanted to be able to take YOGA classes...and end my membership with YogaWorks. Unfortunately, the teachers and the room do not compare with YW. Its used for everything! Theres no floating floor for safely of our ankles and shins, etc...when jumping, doing Zumba, etc. Shin split Heaven!But, I did discover something I thought I would never, ever want to do: Cycling/Spinning. I experimented with various teachers and landed on Dorian Pascoe as my #1 Fave. Shes incredible! So, I started taking her class 2x/week...learning how to spin safely...how to challenge myself...so many wonderful lessons. As I got stronger and more adept at spinning,, I added another class. And, another. Im hooked. So many teachers I like.Long-time spinners yearn for new bikes as the current ones are acting funky after so many miles. Some are leaving to go to the new J in Tarrytown...because they offer the newest, best bikes...+ a bigger more accessible pool, wider lanes and more...and a dedicated, clean, take your shoes off before entering Yoga room (with certified teachers and new, clean props).I am happy at NYSC, I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere where working out vigorously and regularly is not a fashion show! Gotta admit, though, the Trial Week at J is very tempting...at least to see for myself.Lastly, your Front Desk hiring of Melinda was brilliant!!! She gives NYSC a great vibe! Shes fun, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, helpful...gee, she can even fix mechanics/electronics! Melinda knows everybodys name...is a step ahead of us with towels, knowing what classes we like and having the cards at hand...and she smiles...and says GOODBYE to us when we leave. Melinda is outstanding!Thanks for asking.

Spacious, more or less clean, has a pool. Plenty of all kinds of equipment.

NYSC has gone completely down hill. This space has terrible customer service, diry facilities and does not offer other lower paying members towels to wipe up their sweat. Worse yet, the out of shape so called trainers will yell at you if you so much step foot in a studio thats not being used.

Absolutely terrible management. Do not give them your credit card information, once they have it they will charge you forever! Ive been trying to cancel my membership for months but the charges just keep on showing up. I have had to dispute these with AMEX twice now, and the first time the gym lied about the information they supplied to AMEX.I joined this gym years ago and together with my wife probable spent $40K as we both had high volume personal training session programs. The trainers Ive worked with were excellent, but poorly treated by management, which keeps changing for the worse. The club has become dirty and is decaying. There is no efforts to fix repairs like leaks and water stains, broken showers, pool issues that lead to multiple day closures repeatedly.Much of the equipment is broken...no towels available. The real horrible part is the poor management which seems to go all the way to the top at the corporate level...sad really. You will regret joining this gym...please save your money and find a better place...youll thank me later...also, major construction project on site translates into no parking ever available and long waits just to park even on the off site parking...I wish I could rate zero stars...I feel sorry for the personal trainers honesty, as the ones I have come to know are caring and knowledgeable and enthusiastic...their work environment is toxic and its from horrible dishonest management from the top most level down.

Great customer service. Very small place but it has everything, but not a first aid kit.

Its not the newest, or slickest of facilities, but it gets the job done. They added wi-fi, but its garbage. You cant stream music or videos, so dont bother. With the exception of a few trainers, I feel like the staff is mostly checked out. The cleaning staff seem more friendly and conscientious. Still, I go to workout and mind my business, and for the number of users, there is generally ample room and equipment. My small complaint is that they keep moving the position of the olympic benches, each time worse for both movement around them, and lifting experience.Until today, though, I really didnt care about any of that, I just want to workout. Today, however, my experience took a total nosedive. I was verbally abused by a manager (Eileen Toledo-Ortiz) at the facility, because THEY made a mistake on my membership, and wont be accountable. I dont see how this woman has any business being in any kind of managerial position, or customer interface at all. I dont care whats going on, you never scream and physically threaten a customer. It was really gross.I feel like its all about the sales there. Like working out at a used car lot, which is not what I thought I was paying for.

I went try to cancel my membership because I used 2 times in 2 months. The blond girl in the reception was so rude with a attitude. I seriously should have a attitude back but I didn’t. Costume service the wrost place I ever been ! Very unprofessional and disrespectful

Just made a move to Ossining NY, attempted to transfer my home gym of Dobbs Ferry over to there. I was told from the staff of Ossining that they would charge a processing fee of $24.99 for me to switch or I could go to my home gym and switch for no cost.I go into this dobbs ferry gym location and speak with the manager here about this fee. But instead, I mention a fee of $50. The supposed MANAGER says that its actually $49.99 for the transfer fee. She not only was about to take extra money from me, but she even went as far as changing my stated $50 to $49.99! I questioned the price and she said thats what its always been.Canceled my membership completely on the spot.

All the stuff people complain about here is a joke, youre all oversensitive, show me a gym that doesnt have minor flaws and ill honestly applaud you. This type of hyper critical crap is exactly why i hate places like westchester, people complain too much around here. They complain so much that they never stop to smell the roses all that they see is negativity because thats all they think about. This place has large weights, I dont find it to be overcrowded, and its very conveniently close to my house honestly. Look at the bigger picture before you complain.

This is the worst club in NYSC. The club is poorly managed, the locker rooms are a mess, the studio is always dirty, the place is a shi-t hole. Also, when you try and cancel they tell you things that are not true. Look for alternatives.

Terrible management, I tried cancelling my membership and it was a serious nightmare, they just wont let you! They make you go through so many hoops, and tell youth manager is not there every single time, and then when you are finally able to get the manager, they will come up with all these fees to try to prevent you from doing it! Its terrible!

Still havent updated the equipment in the past 10 years.

It’s a good atmosphere and people don’t look like models so you don’t feel embarrassed to go and loose weight.

Nice gym with helpful staff, but parking/access has been terrible due to construction.

Need newer equipment. Cleaner rooms. Meh. Borderline gross!

Its a joke or a gym. Worst employees and customer service. Horrible experience.

Is clean but the management is poor too many equipment are not working, and parking is ridiculous and now is getting worse because the open so many store around
