Most uncaring, sarcastic, rude and impatient staff ever. This is by far the worst hospital experience ever. I was there several years ago. Disregarding psychiatrist, female nurse or tech at desk obnoxious and rude, male tech let me not go to groups, then became disinterested. I should have been encouraged to attend I realize. Like I said, horrific experience with calloused staff. They just wanted me discharged from the hospital quickly and put me down while I was there.

I have been coming to this office since moving to Denver in early 2018.I just love this place!! The front office staff is amazing, and Dr. Brandt is the best doc I’ve had for a psychologist in ages.I feel as though I owe this office a lot, they continue to help me and others become able to live our best possible lives.

2020 is an exceptionally stressful year: COVID-19, election, economy and more. Working with my private therapist we determined additional coping skills could be advantageous. My experience with Porter Centura’s mental healthcare program was over before it could begin. Things were misrepresented, lies were told. I question the competence and the accreditation of this program. The first expectation of any program or proposal is to actually show up, Porter Centura, Denver, Colorado, FAILED!The accumulated 2-star rating Is earned and deserved. Avoid this healthcare provider.

I love my psychiatrist, but the front office needs to get it together. Calls are never returned same day, there is never an easy way to get in contact with you doctor or the front office or medical staff. For a behavioral health center, they need to be more on top of communication because it is terrible.

I have no idea why people are so upset with this place, where do I even start? Good stuff first:Number one, they listen to their patients. They acknowledge the understanding you have of your own mental health and any experience you have and no doctor or PA I or anyone I know has ever been dismissed as not knowing our own brains just because were a patient and theyre a doctor. Theyre so easy to talk to.Furthermore, Ive had to reschedule appointments on short notice--like fifteen minutes from my scheduled time stuck in traffic short notice--and have never been threatened with a fee/talked down to about it, let alone experienced refusal to continue seeing me. (If there is a fee--I fully admit to not looking at my receipts closely enough--it cant be more than about $90, which is standard for psychiatrist offices.)As for medications, theyve been great about trying new things rather than upping my doses on the same old same old like my last doctor did. Im not maxed out on my meds anymore. My doctor is open with me about side effects and drug combinations, and keeps me appraised of why Im on any given medication and why we think it will work. I feel well managed and like I have options if I need to make adjustments. They also schedule future appointments based on my refill schedule, so Ive never had an issue getting my refills. Anyone who has been doing psychiatric treatment for a while knows that you cant just call in a refill for these substances without an appointment--thats standard practice. NO psychiatrist is going to just say oh yeah just go ahead and have 40 mg of Prozac we cant confirm that you need and your insurance DEFINITELY wont go for it. And yeah, that means you have to think ahead about your appointments and understand that you cant just call and say get me in this week because I screwed up and have their schedule magically open up for you. There are other patients. Theyre a doctors office, not your babysitter.I also love that they have everything under one roof. It is so much nicer to be able to get therapy and psychiatry and everything in one place. Now, one issue I have had is that if you call with a question and have to leave a message, they can be slow to respond. Ive had one call where I never got a response and one where I got one right away, but theyre amazing in appointments so I put up with it.Also, some of their receptionists are kind of stuffy, but its not like theyre out here messing up my appointments or anything. Their nurses are also a little detached, theyre there to do their job and keep moving. If you want to be coddled through your pre-appointment screening you wont get that here, but Ive seen nurses do far worse, and I cant say Ive ever been bothered by it.And finally: really, people? Were going to whine about the decor? Yes, it is in a dated building. Yes, the waiting room looks like it was put together in the early to mid 80s. But youre not getting treated by the decor, now are you? Grow up.

These folks have helped me turn my life around. I am grateful to have found this place. They have been highly instrumental in my recovery. Annanda is an inspirational and caring therapist . I personally had a beautiful experience here. I believe it takes a bit of effort on the patient’s part to partake in the group therapies, but I found the staff to be above and beyond caring and interactive with us patients. This place made a difference in my life. I didn’t want to leave.

I have been a patient at Porter for almost a year and a half now and have yet to have anything other than delightful experiences with them. The receptionists are super nice, my psychiatrist Carolyn actually *listens* to me and has been so incredibly helpful in finding the right treatment for my issues, and my therapist Stephanie is an absolute delight. I have no idea why their google reviews are not more positive, because I love this place so much that Im willing to drive over an hour to get there.

I have received absolutely horrible patient service here, I strongly recommend steering clear. I saw the negative reviews and thought it couldnt be that bad, but its actually worse than anticipated. While trying to sort out a simple insurance issue that should have involved a total of 2 faxes (or ONE phone call), I left around 7-8 messages for the staff with no response, they had misinformation, and at one point I could clearly hear the receptionist named Kate talking loudly and negatively about me while half-hardheartedly covering the speaker. The MA, and person in charge of dealing with insurance named Alexis, could not be more unresponsive or unhelpful. If you dont want to go to a psychiatrist that makes you feel truly hopeless about getting your medication squared away, do not go here.

I requested a medication refill. My pharmacist said they’d have to call the doctor. The doctor denied it twice and said I needed an appointment. Well my doctor no longer works there and they gave no advice as to who I was supposed to continue to see. I left 2 voicemails indicating I was leaving town and needed a small supply of my medication. No one ever called me back and they never called the prescription in to help me out. They never even called back to schedule an appointment. I highly do not recommend coming to this facility. It is outdated, decor like a grandmother’s house from 1950s. The nursing staff is clearly unhelpful. My doctor left and they never pointed me in the direction of a new one. I am also left prescriptionless and had to abruptly stop taking it.

The psychiatric nurse, Sarah Matson, accidentally prescribed me half of my usual dose without informing me which resulted in having to go to the emergency room. When dealing with medications that can be life threatening if dosage is rapidly changed, I trust my provider to pay the upmost attention, as my life is in their hands. Do not go to this facility.

If you need real psychiatric help DO NOT GO HERE. The doctor I saw should not have been employed at as an outpatient psychiatrist. When I needed a prescription refill I called multiple times for a week and never heard a word back. I had to go without my medication for a week after that. At my following appointment she stated that she assumed my neurologist was filling that prescription which is why she disregarded my calls. I explained that my neurologist was not filling the prescription. The next time I needed a refill she ignored my calls again and then filled my prescription at a pharmacy over a thousand miles away from where i needed it. Each of my appointment charges were over $200 for 15 minute sessions with little to no help.

I had been seeing another psychiatrist who was not associated with this office who had me on so many psych meds I was having neurological symptoms that simulated early dementia or Parkinsons. I switched to this practice and have been under the highly competent care of Jessica Fynboh. She got me off of all that harmful medication and I now take only one med. She is by far the best medication manager I have ever seen. The staff is always helpful and courteous. Highly recommended.

I went here in about 2013 for very helpful DBT therapy and had high hopes when i found out a nurse practitioner was there and recommended by my therapist for medication. The only thing that has set me off is the disgusting staff members for scheduling who are extremely rude and abrasive. My first appointment was at 7 am and all the doors were locked. I went to call them and they denied it, called me back to argue with me about it, and then said they would get me in as soon as possible. I got another appointment on the following Monday only to be told the day of on a voicemail that the doc was sick and they would be calling me back to reschedule. They never called back, i ended up calling them back and voicing my frustration only to have back Ok we can get you in a month out from today. That is horrible business practice, a horrible way to approach someone with issues with mental health and all out a horrible experience before i even got in for an appointment. Horrible.

REAL STORY PLEASE READ: CAROLYNN DACRES: I told her all adverse side effects on medicine she put me on and instead of placing knowledge or doing her research, she would instead increase my dose. I got pharmacy manager to help and she showed me the adverse effects and recommended I never seen Carolynn so I found a different provider who cares for my health and NEVER will take medicine she prescribed again. Thank you god.

The hospital itself is fine. Most of the staff is ok, some awesome-particularly on the 3-11 shift. But if they assign a psychiatrist by the name of katznic or something like that, RUN and refuse admittance to him. He is the worst Doctor Ive ever met. No bedside manner, no desire to know you other than off of what he reads in a chart, dismissive, holier than thou, scary that he is allowed to practice. Ruins Porters reputation to have him on staff.
