Ive been taking my car to Emicks for about five years; I was referred to Emicks after my former mechanic sold his business. I have appreciated everything Dave has done for my car. He helped me to maintain it, advised me when it was time to stop trying to repair it, helped me sell it, and he even helped me to better understand how my new car works. Dave is a great person who really knows how to take care of his clients cars. I highly recommend him!

I cannot recommend Emicks Auto highly enough. Dave is incredibly honest, knowledgeable, and kind. He leads with integrity and he is always efficient and communicative. The prices are always fair and and he never once tried to upsell me on anything. I love supporting this local, family-owned business and hope he stays around forever - I wouldnt trust anyone else with my car.

I dont often write reviews. But I felt compelled to write a review for Emicks Auto Service. I took my 2001 Jeep Cherokee to a couple of other local mechanics, and he was by far the most fair and honest. Dave has been a pleasure to work with. He is honest, intelligent and generally just nice to talk to. I would highly recommend Emicks Auto Service.

Fair, thorough, honest. Ive taken two cars to Emicks Auto Service over the years, and have always gotten good work done in return for my patronage. I agree with some of the other posts that underscore the ethical and straight-forward business practices of the owner, and the dependable work that he provides.

I was quite pleased with my service at Emick’s! There was a bit of a hiccup and miscommunication on the date of the appointment I had set, yet they were still accommodating and made sure to get the car in. As I’ve read in other reviews, they were very honest and transparent about the work that needed to be done, how serious it was to be fixed, and didn’t try to push anything that I didnt need, just to make an extra buck. I would definitely suggest Emick’s to others.

Dave is a professional, honest and competent mechanic. My coworker recommend him to me and I have past that recommendation on to others looking for a good mechanic. He has taken care of my car needs for several years and has done excellent work on time, every time.If you are looking for a friendly neighborhood mechanic, go see Dave at Emicks Auto Service!

This was one of the best experiences Ive ever had with a mechanic. I brought my Honda Fit in for a general inspection in preparation for selling it. I told him about a few minor issues that needed fixing and that I was pretty sure I needed new brakes (they were squeaking). He called me back just a few hours later and let me know that my brakes were fine and just needed to be cleaned. He could have told me I needed new ones since I was already so convinced but he was 100% honest about that and everything else. The price for everything was very fair and he got it all done so quickly. I would make Emicks my go-to mechanic forever if I werent moving out of the state. Very highly recommend!

We were contemplating buying a used SUV and needed a quick inspection and Dave at Emicks was able to get the car in and up on the lift the following day. The price was reasonable and boy, was he thorough. Dave inspected every nook and cranny of the car and even got it up to speed (where he diagnosed a problem). Without Daves thorough work we would have probably been stuck with a lemon. Thanks, Emicks!

In August I was traveling from Tennessee to Washington state on a cross country move. My vehicle broke down in Denver. I found Emick’s auto service. I do not remember the mechanics name but I believe he is the owner. He did not sugar coat anything with me. He was honest and upfront. Laid out all the options for me and didn’t make any false promises. After a couple days in the shop he finally got me back on the road after putting a new fuel pump on for me. It was great service all around.

I would HIGHLY recommend them, especially if you are new in the area looking for a reputable place or know nothing about your cars and need expert advice! They really went above and beyond to help me get my car back into shape while doing everything possible to keep it affordable. They are very fairly-priced and did the work very quickly. (Also, as a sidebar, they seem to be taking good precautions with the COVID situation.) All in all, would recommend!

A true lifesaver. I received multiple quotes prior to taking my car to Emick’s and all were an exorbitant amount to fix a water pump. Emicks came in beneath competitors costs and did not only quality work, but had my repair completed within two days. No gimmicks, no added services, just straight forward and honest work. I will only use Emicks moving forward for all of my repair/maintenance needs.

Trustworthy quality service. Prices are very reasonable for the work, and when Ive had maintenance done, theyve let me know what issues to keep an eye on for the future without pushing a fix before its necessary. The communication about the work being done is great, and I had a chance to let them know I would swap out my own battery and cabin filter (though in retrospect, the price they quoted for a new battery installed was pretty close to what I paid just for parts at a shop).

Took my truck with a bunch of mysterious ailments in, the mechanic communicates via text and phone which is super helpful and he let me know everything that needed to be done, very fast, affordable and a great trustworthy neighborhood mechanic. If you’re worried about covid concerns, the place was very equipped to deal and there were Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer at a table that had been moved toward the bay door to process payments. Thanks again, definitely coming back!!

Dave and his staff are fantastic mechanics. I drove a jalopy pickup for many years, and they kept it running for me at a very reasonable price. I especially like that they are straightforward in their assessments, willing to triage major repairs, prepared to prioritize repairs, and always reasonably priced. If youre looking for a some glad-handing and free donuts, dont go here. If you want quality work completed by skilled professionals, Emicks is your place.

I went in for a routine oil change and also asked them to tell me where the hole in my exhaust was located since they would have my car lifted already. They ended up doing a bunch of stuff to my car without asking me prior then charging me $117 for all of it. The woman working, Jess, told me it was “standard” pricing. $117 for an oil change and a quick look at the exhaust while it’s lifted is not standard. I highly recommend going elsewhere for any work on your car. Will not be back.

No BS Car Repair. David and Jess are fantastic at assessing exactly whats wrong with our cars. They always tell us whats wrong, tell us an approximate price, and ask what wed like to do. No pressure, just a simple diagnostic, recommendation, and price. Ive been burned so many times elsewhere. I was fortunate enough to be recommended to these folks by a friend, probably 6 or 7 years ago now. I wont take my cars anywhere else. Youve got a client for life. I send all my friends here too. Highly recommend!

I recently brought my car into Emicks to be worked on, and I had a great expereince. Im new to the neighborhood, and they are just a quick 10 minute walk from my place. It has a very neighborhood vibe--small shop where they seem to be fair with prices and upfront about what needs done to the car. Also the front desk girl was really friendly and polite. Ill definitly be making this my regular spot.

I brought my car to Emicks, fully believing I needed a new power steering pump. I was able to bring my own pump and they were going to install only. Surprisingly, upon my arrival they looked at the car timely and stated that it could be belt slippage, and tire wear. They suggested i start with the cheaper options and they were right. At the end of the day i ended up spending a fraction of what a new power steering pump swap would have cost. They took a very ethical and honest approach. They have my loyalty going forward.Thank you,

These guys are amazing. So honest. I came to them with a diagnoses from another shop ready to pay about $2000 for fixes. After inspecting my vehicle they gave me a much better understanding of what was wrong with it and told me it was in my better interest to cut my losses and look for another vehicle. Most shops will simply fix what you ask until you run out of money. I would recommend this shop to anybody who is looking for a lifetime mechanic. They are a no bs shop with straight forward advice. These guys are real deal mechanics.

If you enjoy a good scolding, and being made to feel like a nuisance for asking your stupid questions, then this is the place for you. Took a car there that I had recently purchased as a second vehicle. Its an old car with lots of miles, but the seller had receipts for lots of new parts and it seemed like it would do what I needed. Still, I wanted to know what was on the horizon for repairs, so I took it in to get it checked out. Here is where Emick Auto earned their star. They correctly diagnosed the rust on the hood, the cracked fog light lens, the dash clock that was not working, few other visually apparent items. Also included in the report was loud engine noise, and poor braking. Here is where they lost the other four stars. When I asked to speak to the mechanic, to elaborate on what kind of noise, and what might be the cause of the poor braking. I was told repeatedly (at different times of the day) they are really busy, and probably wont be able to talk to you. So when I went to pickup the vehicle, I asked for five minutes to explain what the noise was- that indicated I needed a new engine. (The new engine info was divulged in one of the phone calls) Thats when Dave (the owner) came out and said your engine makes a lot of noise. If you listen to other peoples engines...they dont sound like yours. Then proceeded to list all the things on the report in a manner and tone more often associated with a parent discussing with a child why its a bad idea to leave their bike in the driveway, for the five hundredth time. It was clear at that point, that he was p.o. at having to speak with me, and I had chosen to do business with the wrong shop. So I started to leave. But then I looked at the invoice and it said- if you are unhappy, please let us know so we can make it right. Well thats fair I thought. So I went back into the office to offer a little feedback. Jess was immediately apologetic, and was about to offer some words of kindness or contrition or something, when Dave came storming in defending his actions because he doesnt have time to explain whats going on....You get the picture by now. I never asked for any money back. Just described that the report was vague, to the point of being useless. And that I didnt appreciate the way I was treated. The owner of this business did not want to hear any of it. I paid $105.00 to learn not to take my car there. Seems pretty steep for one lesson. If a 100 people can learn from my experience, thats a little better R.O.I. Dont waste their time -or your money.

Had my car towed to this place after it broke down, got a $700+ quote for repairs, the man working immediately displays frustration with us for telling him we cant afford his repair cost. He proceeds to slam the keys on the counter and treats us as if we are his enemy. So angry that I cant afford to fix my vehicle and he is the one who is upset. In the end I am extremely happy I didnt give him a dime for repairs.
