Barebones Auto has an excellent reputation and for a good reason. When I had concerns about my oil change situation, I was given a very in depth explanation about how the oil works in the car and what it means for me to have a certain type of oil. It wasnt like I was being talked down to either, but it was explained in a way to help me down the road understand my vehicle better. This was incredibly valuable to me. I would highly recommend taking your car to this business for servicing. Also, the lobby is very comfortable and has nice ameneties. The people are honest, kind, and very helpful. God bless.

Well at first l thought they would fix everything right, now lam not so sure. I was promised by the manager that after they worked on my air conditioner. That if there were any problems within two weeks or a month to bring my car back and it would be fixed at no cost. So l took it back because it wasnt getting cold ac and when l did they tried to charge me way more and l told them that l was told there wouldnt be any charge. I should not have to pay way more than l did the first time for them to fix something because it wasnt fixed the first time.

Even though the I had to wait for a part, Barebones staff was professional and nice. They kept me informed and as soon as the part walked through the door, I was prioritized and out in 5 minutes. I have never dealt with a shop as upfront and trustworthy as Barebones. My family and friends and anyone that will listen needs a professional shop like Barebones, but their is only 1, until July 6. Then there will be two, 1 in Denton and the new one opening in Krum. 😁👍

Went for an inspection, they were quick and friendly with very reasonable prices.

My ac needed to be recharged because it was low on freon they charged less than half that another place wanted to charge without even checking my car and the other business seemed uncaring or concerned. After reading the reviews for Barebones Im so glad I went to them, very professional, friendly and fair prices. They also fixed a part inside the car for free, theyve earned my business in the future.

Where do I start? The Barebones team were able to save me over $3,000 and a engine rebuild. I took my 2007 Infiniti 2 two different mechanics as well as a dealership at all suggested I rebuild my engine to get it to work. I had to sit in my car up for over a year because it would not pass inspection. In less than a week they were able to clear all codes and do all the repairs for a reasonable price! They were very great with communication and stuck true to their estimate. I would highly recommend them if you have any car troubles. I drove over 30 miles to get my car repaired and I would happily do it again! Thanks Barebones!

Although Barebones deserves this, finding quality, affordable, trustworthy mechanics, have been in my history, hard to find. Id send my family and friends with their last dollar to this place, because I trust them to do the job right.My Jeep Renegade was only 4 years old when I purchased it and I was 2 months in, at 72k miles when I was stranded on the side of the road on my way back to Oklahoma. It was July 4th. With a few minutes available to do a Google search and read reviews I went with Barebones. My engine went through 3 bottles of antifreeze and overheated several times after the previous mechanic I took it to said I was fine with driving it back to Oklahoma. I already knew what Barebones was going to say, I needed a new engine. What I didnt know, was that I finally found a mechanic I could trust, to do quality work, to give a fair price, only to do what was needed and all with respect. Everything was done over the phone. They were transparent and great to do business with. The only issue is that theyre not in Oklahoma. They will seriously still be my number one when considering who to go to again.

The staff is friendly and professional. I feel that they value me and my business.

I am very happy with their service. Basically you can say that you have a peace of mind .once you are there wait for the job and you’re out when it is done you don’t have to worry about anything. You can definitely say they are good people.

4 stars because they were really nice, and because they fixed an issue without charging me. However, I took my car to them to diagnose an issue that I KNOW was wrong with my vehicle to try to narrow down the problem, after fixing said issue they sent me on my way. I was unsatisfied because I was still experiencing the same symptoms, I took my car to a different shop to get a second opinion, and there at the second shop is where they told me exaclty what I wanted to hear. In other words I was told that there was nothing wrong with my vehicle, when there in fact was. Again I appreciate the minor work they did do, but beware, they dont seem all that thorough.

Got an expensive spark plug replacement, one blew off just when they were closed for two days. Because I couldn’t sit around waiting for them to fix it I went elsewhere. Then they wouldn’t reimburse me for the repair from their poor installation. All in all: friendly technicians but they’re not accommodating to customer circumstances. Wasted money.

Did not have vehicle repaired there, but I would have if needed. They were very helpful over the phone. Called me back the next day just like they said they would. Seemed very honest and trustworthy.

I’ve been coming to them for 2 years!! They are reliable and fairly priced. They treat everyone like family and genuinely care about their customers. I recently moved to Dallas, but I still drive to Denton to have them service my car because they are the only people I trust.

My recent visit to BB was get my car serviced for my drivers seat remote panel; which was cracked and needed to be replaced. I was initially quoted one price, however once the part came in, I was told it was damaged. So, Stephen told me he would research to get another part. Later, later in the day Stephen told me they found the part and it was cheaper than the initial quote that I was given!!! Excellent analysis of my check engine light. Told me exactly what needed to be fixed. And they were fine with my wanting to fix it myself and my paying them for their analysis.

Right when you walk in you notice how CLEAN the place is not just the lobby but the bathroom, the sitting area eating area and most importantly the shop was organized, completely visible, spacious and clean. A true rarity for mechanic shops! The staff is very knowledgeable and very kind! Plus my state inspection was $10 and took 10 min. Definitely recommend and will use again!Thanks

These guys are very good and extremely helpful. They have done work on my 2014 Ford F-450 at a very fair price and I have had no further issues with the items that were repaired. The work was done for the price quoted, work was completed on time and the truck was ready to go.I specifically mention they are very helpful. Two days before having to leave on a trip with the truck, the sensor in the DEF tank started acting up. I brought the truck in late in the afternoon and their mechanic worked on it that evening to diagnose the issue, had parts the next morning and the repair completed by noon. And all the work was done at a fair price.If you need vehicle repair work, this is the place to bring your vehicle. Fair price and great service.

State inspectionWent in to get it and was greeted right away! The guys were friendly and I was in and out within 10 minutes!Definitely would recommend!

I went in to fix a loose under car shield. They courteously told me they dont do car body works but they still went ahead to fix it. At no cost!

If you want to wait two hours just for an oil change.. Barebones is the place for you. Only two people in front of me.. And still took 2 hours. A person that arrived after me left before me! I could see they dropped my car through the wait room window and I still waited another 30 min to get it back. Good prices but I spent way more time then I wanted to, and my time is worth more than their prices. Also they didnt turn my car off all the way, so the battery was still running while I was waiting to get my keys back, 15 minutes at least. I recommend personal touch in Corinth for fast and reliable service. Do not recommend and will not be back.

Failure in every sense of the word. Guy on the phone didn’t know if they worked on American cars. Called backed and confirmed they could do I figured I would give them a shot. Worst mistake car sat for 3 days and didn’t even get a diagnostic on it when they promised they’d have it done by the end of the day. Rude staff, don’t waste your time if you have an American muscle car.

Awesome people , in 17 years of owning trucks I have never taken one to the shop. Always fix them my self. Had ball joints to replace in my older chevy. Ran into some issues so I took it to bare bones. They are not crooks like you hear about other shops. They fixed what I asked nothing more nothing less. Top notch work all greased when put back together. I gotta say Im very pleased.

Extremely satisfied with Barebones and their entire staff!! We will never go anywhere else! From the moment John answered the phone until the moment Stephan checked us out, the overall service was beyond professional and friendly. We had no idea where to go to get our Dodge Ram looked at the day before leaving on our road trip that we had been planning for months. We called the dealership first hoping they could get us in fast but said noway. We did a little google research and after reading the reviews for Barebones we decided to give them a shot. And we are so glad we did! The truck had a strong vibration and very loud noise. We didn’t want to drive it and planned on having it towed. John with Barebones sent the tow truck (saving me another phone call...thanks John!) and after just a few hours Stephan call with the diagnosis. He said it was the first time he had seen this.....a dirt dauber nest on a fan was causing the imbalance! All they needed to do was remove the nest and our truck was back to normal! We were prepared to pay for a brand new fan, or new engine maybe....so thank you Barebones for your honesty and extremely kind service. We are now your loyal customers!

My car broke down and I was worried itd cost a fortune and take forever, but it was super cheap and done in two days and now my car handles better than it has in years. Took car in for a water pump replacement, because I did not have the tools to do it myself. After already doing the disassembly to get to the part and facing a %20 mark-up that the person on the phone told me was there due to the fact I had the part already, the price was $260. That is on the high side when researching estimated cost for repair which includes the part. Because they had to remove a serpentine belt I then get a phone call stating the price jumped to $405. So $145 to remove and reinstall the SAME belt I had just put on the day before??! Thats just ridiculous.

We have taken all our cars to Barebones since John opened his doors. He is a Master mechanic and honest to a fault. His Manager Stephen is knowledgeable, courteous and goes the extra mile as well as the rest of his crew who work very hard. He also supports veterans. This is the absolute best auto mechanic ever! I was referred to the owner, John, back when he was working out of a rent-a-bay in 2009. I had fallen on hard times financially and he did high quality work at extraordinarily affordable rates. His quality work spread by word of moth so quickly that within a few years he owns his own facility with 16+ bays, lifts, front-end alignment, diesel repair, tires and window tint services. All of his mechanics care about doing the job right and his Service Adviser, Stephen, id both gregarious and extremely knowledgeable. John and his staff have saved me literally thousands of dollars keeping my two older vehicles in reliable, quality running condition! You cannot find a mechanic of higher integrity. They will never sell you anything you dont need but will never fix something and leave it unfixed either. They give warranty on all their work/parts. Love these folks!

Best Customer Service out of any auto shop I have ever been to!

I came to this shop to get new brake pads, and I couldnt be more happy about going here. I waited a few weeks to write the review to see how well the brake pads were installed and so far I havent had any issues with them. Their waiting area is very clean, and accommodating. Theyve got a coffee maker, which I recommend you use. Overall, their schedule and experience should be enough for newcomers to try this shop.

They are always great and very helpful. Never over charges for things like Firestone, etc. They usually have your car back you within a few days, if they can. They treat you like family. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Just wished they had a location closer The colony than Denton. But its definitely worth the drive out there every time my husband and I always take our cars out there for both of our vehicles. We tell all our friends and family about this place.

These guys are very underrated, and next to Daves, they run the most ethical shop that I know of in town. Will do a $10 state inspection, also. Very accurate with their estimates, and very fair pricing; I take my Ford Flex there, but I believe they handle pretty much all makes and models. For what its worth, they have a very nice waiting area too.

Updated at 04/12/2019:They explained what happened and gave me great service as I usually expected.What happened at 04/07/2019:They were really good, good service and good price. However, I am so disappointed this time. I was told I need to do some power steering service last Sunday, and they need to order parts for me, they wanted me to call them one workday ahead before the service. Then I called them in Thursday morning, they told me it would be ready for me on Sunday. Sunday morning, it took me about 30 minutes to drive to their store, then they told me it will take 3 to 4 hours or even all day for my service (I dont understand how can they change the mind so easily), and even worse, they did NOT have my parts at all. Finally, I have to spend another 30 minutes driving back. APPARENTLY, they did NOT respect my time and trust.

Ive been here twice now and will continue going back. They were super informative and always kept me up-to-date on how my repairs were going. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of or ripped off. Thanks for the great experience. Keep up the good work!

I have been going to Barebones for all of my car maintenance and repair needs for almost two years now. Whether its vehicular inspection, oil changes or repairs, this is the place to go. I can sometimes be confusing while communicating the issues I am having with my car - especially when describing funny noises - but they are patient and find the problem easily. Their quotes are usually accurate. At times they will over-quote so that customers are not surprised by a higher bill in the event that materials/labor end up costing more. I have no problem with being pleasantly surprised by a cheaper bill the off chance their price was overestimated. :) I am very impressed with their services and will continue to go there in the future.
