I’ve been going to Advanced Auto Repair in Denton for the past year or so for minor repairs on my car. They’ve always been very honest with me and have communicated everything very well. Recently, I brought my car in for a fuel smell issue, and they worked tirelessly trying to figure out what the problem was. Zach, my service provider, was in contact with me the entire time and kept me in the loop in regards to what tests they ran, what said tests meant, and what diagnosis they came to as they performed these tests. He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and communicative during this whole process. Zach and all of the employees at Advanced Auto Repair prioritized making sure that I have a safe car to drive while being mindful of what I could afford as a customer as well. I can’t recommend Advanced Auto Repair enough!

Vance was really nice. He took good care of me. Sadly, my car was not fixable but they were really nice and had genuine concern. They said that my car would not be safe to drive, and it would cost way more to fix it than it was worth.

My car had several issues wrong with it, something you may hear from any crooked mechanic; but it seriously did this time around.Instead of trying to take advantage of me, however, they were thoroughly honest. Even if their prices were a bit higher, Advanced Auto Repair is trustworthy and a highly recommended auto shop to use.They even have a car service to take you home if you need it.Glenn is amazing guy and pleasant to work with. Even on his day off he was more than willing to give me the news about my car, something I feel some shops would not do.

As you get a few miles on a vehicle having a good place to get it repaired at a reasonable price is the key to being able to keep that car. Byron is a great technician he diagnosed the problems accurately. If there was a problem he made it right. Had some front end work and a major a/c repair. Couldnt be more satisfied with the results or the price.Highly recommended and there is a reason folks wait in line to have Byron work on their cars. Hes fantastic! It took 3 visits to figure out what was wrong with my car and Im still not convinced. The guy kept calling me boss which is very annoying and readily admitted they are overpriced. Would have been half the cost somewhere else.

They figured out and fixed an electrical issue that even the car dealership service center couldnt figure out! Professional, Polite and Punctual! I have finally found a reliable place to get my car serviced!

Glenn was very professional as well as the whole business when they diagnosed my coolant system they were able to determine no issues with the coolant system except being a little low on fluid they could’ve charged a minimum of $80 For the service but charged zero dollars after spending over two hours on the vehicle highly recommend this place

Took it in for an oil change a couple of weeks ago and they diagnosed that I needed the front wheel baring be fixed. They always do such a wonderful job and the customer service is top notch. Love these guys and recommend them to everyone I know

I was told my car had a starter problem. Came here and they said it was a battery problem. The fix cost a quarter of what I was told by another auto dealer. They didn’t try to sell me anything extra or rip me off in anyway. Trustworthy and best automotive dealer around.

This is the BEST shop in DFW. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. This is my third time using Advanced and they are consistent, friendly and professional. We had a very bad experience with them. We called AAA for battery replacement and since the company who came did not have the right battery with them, AAA towed my car to Advanced Auto Repair on Sunday. They called me back on Monday and told me that it is gonna cost us $386 which is ridiculous. AAA price is only $199 for battery and installation. Even though they said they were affiliated with AAA, they would not honor AAA price. We are disappointed in the level of customer service they provided. So we picked up the car and called AAA and another company provided the service for us. We would not recommend this company to someone.

Medium size shop parking is cramped but enough. They offer a wide selection of services.Great customer service.Small reception area but you have a TV to watch while waiting and you get free snacks and drinks.

My Lexus RX330 was towed to Advanced Auto Repair after my left axle broke on IH 35W. I called the next day, and they were very informative of what was going on with my vehicle. While the value of it is depreciating due to the age (2006), and neglect (used vehicle), they were still willing to fix it at a discounted rate. I will be going back in the future for more repairs! When my AC stopped working I took my car to another mechanic in the area who charged me $230 just to return the car to me in worse condition than before, so it took it to Advanced Auto Repair and they were able to fix it for $150 in less than a day. They also told me to bring it in a week later to get it checked for free just to make sure everything was still working fine and my AC has worked perfectly ever since! The guys here are all awesome and extremely friendly and I will definitely continue to bring my vehicle here in the future as well as recommending them to my friends and family. I worked in the service side of the auto industry for twenty years one of the worst things about moving to a wonderful town like Denton is losing my contacts. Problem solved, bought a pre-owned Hyundai that wasnt cooling very well compared to the other Hyundai of the same model that someone just totalled. So off to Advanced Auto Repair: first it was easy to make an appointment their diagnositic charges were very reasonable. So scampered over like a heard of turtles.Now take this with a grain of salt but I got the kind of service that I would have gotten from a friend in the business. Byron my tech did it exactly right, went the extra mile to diagnose the problem correctly. The local Hyundai dealer told me I needed a new compressor soon because it was leaking, when doing a recall a week before.Id tried to add some refrigerant to see if it would make it through the summer. Byron figured out it was probably over filled before Id tried to fix it. So three weeks later on our 100° days its still an ice box in my car. But wait theres more.I did my own buyers check at the Hyundai dealer and Im semi-compitent. Bryon caught things I missed and the charge for that was nothing. The waiting room was full of happy folks including a 300K mile Lexus owner that had been a long term customer. My service advisor was awesome, Byron walked me through his procedure which was perfect and I saved about $1200 over the Dealer.If I read this review not sure I would believe it. Read the other reviews and go in for an oil change talk to the other customers. There is a reason they are always busy and have been that way for decades. They are doing it right.

I drive a 1999 Saturn and a 20 year old car you would think needs a lot of work, but mine doesn’t. A little bit not a lot. I was showed pictures and details of what would need to be done to keep my car in tip top shape to provide a dependable and safe car for me and my son. I worked with Service Advisor Joel McDaniel who recommended an appointment so I would be first in line for service. Did that and returned day later. They ran full diagnostic testing. Fixed what could be fixed and relayed what had to be repaired by a certified Land Rover dealer. No charged the whole repair so that I would return. It worked. Will be back when needed.

I have been using Advanced Auto Repair for almost ten years and have always been satisfied with their professionalism, expertise, and prompt service. Tommy and the entire crew have always treated my family as if it was their family and I truly appreciate their business.

Called and spoke to Joel about an issue with my sons car. Gave Joel the address and asked him to tow the car to their shop. Joel sent a service mechanic over to my sons apartment complex and they were able to jumpstart the car and drive the car over to the shop, avoiding a tow service fee. They ran the diagnostic test and discovered the issue to be the key fob. My only charge was the diagnostic fee and it was a reasonable fee. Cant express how thankful I am for the service and professionalism of this shop. Wish every business was run this way. Keep up the great work!

This place is not honest. The car was leaking coolant. They said $80 to run a leak check which i paid for. Then they said water pump was bad and the source of leak. They replaced pump for $700. They told me car no longer leaked coolant. But now after 5 miles of driving since picking it up -- coolant leaking everywhere. Its pretty simple -- they flat out lied and never actually fixed the problem. They had the car for 9 days. So beware.

Well, the courtesy was good. The advise? Ill say get a second opinion. My BMW engine represents the best in the automotive market with original miles. BMW integrity, reliability and durability as a driving excellence machine, must consistently be affirmed. It was during my visit. Thanks.

I recently bought a vehicle that appeared to have a few minor issues that turned out to be major. I dealt with Glenn from the service department from my initial call all the way through. He was professional and a very nice person to deal with.After it was found that there were very extensive issues, Glenn called me and broke the news. He was honest about the fact that the repairs needed that they had found so far would cost too much to be justified.I went to pick up my vehicle and was prepared to pay for any labor charges. Glenn said they do not charge if they absolutely can not perform a job to their satisfaction. I still offered for the labor but was told no because of their standards.Going forwards, this location will have my business. I was so impressed by the standard they hold themselves to. And that is something I will tell anyone who is looking for a referral. It’s been so long where as a customer I have been treated like that I can’t find the right way to say how grateful I am.

Fantastic place. The repair work was very quick, and it was done very well. My vehicle was checked out extremely thoroughly, and all needs and issues were explained to me in great detail, with the more important items prioritized. The staff is extremely friendly, and the owner, Tommy Nickelson, is always available if you need any additional assistance.I was in the automotive repair industry for quite a long time, but can no longer perform that type of work due to disabilities. My niece is attending UNT, and needed a reliable place to service her vehicle. Luckily, we found Advanced Auto Repair, and took it there. I cant be any more pleased about the overall experience and outcome, and feel much more relaxed and less anxious about her being up there now that she has someone that we can trust to take care of her vehicle for her.Thanks again to Tommy and the guys. Youve definitely given me one less thing to worry about. And Ill even be driving up from Carrollton to get my own vehicle serviced there. A really good automotive repair shop is very hard to find, I know from decades of experience.As a side note, its Advanced Auto Repair, and NOT Tommys High Tech, which is right next door, but IS NOT affiliated with this establishment. I almost made that mistake. Thank goodness I caught it in time.Five stars...six if it were possible.

Friday night AAA tow on a road trip across the country with rear brake issues... went in Saturday morning at 8 am when the shop opened, Charles is the man, he had already checked it out and had techs looking at it by 8 am ... rear brake caliper bolt came loose an fell out on Friday... my 05 Avalanche was fully inspected, fixed, test driven and out front for me by 10 am for $50 ... these guys are great, AAA recommended, coffee in the waiting room with a kids play room as well... and I’m sure they’re good drinking buddies too!! cheers to these guys, saved my road trip!! 🍻

Something flew under my car on the highway commuting to work this morning. I smelled burning and saw a few leaks so I decided to take my car here. The mechanics were so professional. They lifted my car for me to make sure there was not any damages. They figured out what the burning smell was and fixed it right away. All of the workers were very nice and friendly! They have earned a customer for life. I highly recommend this place!!

I appreciate the great work these guys do. Ive been taking my little car to this shop for the past 2 years and theyve taken care of me very well. I bought my car used 2 years ago so I could get around the area as a student at UNT. Of course, I wasnt well aware of all the problems that came with the car, but these guys have helped me with every problem thats come along the way. They truly do want the best for your car to keep it running for the long haul! I will say, some of the prices for certain repairs are a bit too high for me, especially as a college student, but I know they put the best quality care in what they do. I appreciate the peace of mind they leave me with when I am able to afford the repairs. And when it comes to general car maintenance, this is the place to go! I took my truck in for an oil change, asked if they’d check basic fluids and was told yes. After sitting forever I get my truck back with literally nothing but the oil changed didn’t reset lights didn’t fill any fluids my windshield washer fluid was bone dry. Hands down worst service I’ve ever had. Didn’t even rest my oil light. If I’m paying for it why should I have to go back to have something done AGAIN when it should have been done correctly the first time. Asked for a simple oil change and fluid replacement and somehow they failed at that

AAA dispatched Advanced Auto to tow my car during a recent snow storm. I waited over 1.5 hours and when the tow truck got there they just kept driving. AAA could not find another tow truck, so I was forced to walk home in the snow, and my towing cost ended up being hire because I couldn’t use AAA’s service. Not professional ! Not happy !

These guys are awesome! I didn’t know you had to make an appointment but they were super nice and still able to get me in for an oil change. They have great customer service and did a good job on my car.

I worked with Ray to get some hail damage repaired and he was very helpful! He kept me updated throughout the entire process and was very knowledgeable regarding questions and concerns I had. Found advance auto on Google and all of the reviews were good. So I took a chance and took my vehicle to them and was very much pleased. They fixed the issue I was having among a couple of other things. The price was reasonable,they were very professional, and Glenn was excellent with customer service and keeping me updated with my vehicle through the whole process. If I have any issues with my vehicles in the future I will be going back to advance auto repair

Theyre all about educating customers, theyve got a shuttle service, and once when I had an intermittent issue they told me next time it happened to just head straight there and call on the way so they could pull a technician to diagnose it as soon as I arrived. So caring! And you can tell theyre all friends, which is usually a good sign :)

My fiancé has used the shop frequently in the past. They are nothing but kind, accommodating and do good work. When I got a nail in my tire this morning on my way to work I knew where to go. They squeezed us in and patched it up. Their kindness doesn’t go unnoticed ! I know where we will go when the unexpected happens again.

When they quoted out the repairs, I was able to go online and research each one. Sure enough they were all valid repairs and services with the mileage I had reached. Id highly recommend this place for general car maintenance. The staff is always friendly and professional. If they recommend something be fixed, theyll thoroughly explain the issue and offer to drive you home if you dont want to wait. The prices are always similar to online estimates, and best of all theyre incredibly honest about if you need an immediate fix or if you can afford to wait a while. Ive been coming here for several years, and Ive always been treated extremely well.

AAA towing, a driver named Cody drug my truck rim with a missing tire across the ground without using a skate, till it ripped the rack and pinion steering cable out. Now driver refuses to admit to the loud pop noise, accept responsibility, or allow me to speak with the owner about this case when I call in. The owner may still be an honorable man and accept responsibly for his drivers mistakes...if so, I will take this post down. This is the first 1 star google review I have ever had to post.

These boys did everything they could to help us fix the van.They even shuttled me home home so I didn’t have to stay at the garage while they worked on the van. The shuttle driver was very courteous and friendly.When advising us on repairs they were very clear as to each problem, what needed to be done to fix them, and the cost of each.They took thorough pictures documenting the van before working on it, and each problem they came across (i.e.: cracked boots; monitor showing where the problems were.)I believe you can trust them and would recommend them whole heartily.Thank you all for your time and all you did to help us.The Evans’

In the beginning (day one), I was pleased with the customer service and how I was treated. The service advisor was knowledgeable on the processes on my warranty, he reassured me everything would be covered, and he even dealt directly with the warranty group. I was impressed with my initial visit when I turned over my car. He told me that it was easier for him to work directly with the warranty group, so I let him. Thought that was the norm, as this all was new to me. However, I was given limited communication and update on my vehicle thereafter. I had to call and leave messages, with no return calls, so I had to keep calling. Seems like only when I would get him on the phone he would then need to check on it and give me a call back. So progress didnt seem to be checked or made until I would call. During this, I was in a rental car from their neighbor with the promise that it would be covered under warranty and not to worry. Over three weeks go by, I finally get my car back, and I was also stuck with over nine hundred dollars in rental car fees that I paid out of pocket with the promise that it would be reimbursed, according to the service advisor. I trusted him to guide me through this new process, I trusted him to communicate with the warranty group, and now I cannot even get a return email or phone call.

I highly recommend this place. They were professional and knowledgeable. They updated me regularly and kept it reasonably priced. I’ll go back!
