Great shop, great haircuts, great guys. I’ve been coming to Jeff for 15+ years. I was introduced to him by my Father, who Jeff cut as well. When my Father became sick and could no longer come to the Barbershop, Jeff came to him. Jeff came to my parents home once a month for over two years to cut my Fathers hair. He did this until Dad passed away. My Family and I can’t express enough how much this meant to us and Dad. This shop will forever be endeared to us.

I have had my hair cut by Jeff for about the last year. Got good cuts, but had to endure his pontificating on many topics. Always tolerated it until my last visit when he opined that Dr. Fauci needs to go back to the laboratory instead of being so in love with his TV appearances. Jeff does not believe the scientists know what they are talking about as their advice changes frequently. Scientists continue to learn while others do not. When I expressed that “He went to Walter Reed, All we got was the Dump virus”, Jeff told me I needed to leave. So, if you want a haircut with pontification, do not disparage Dump, or you too will likely be asked to leave.

Garys cuts are THE definition of superior and high quality. He is always very meticulous and makes sure to ask exactly what you want and how you want it before he starts cutting. Very friendly guy while cutting your hair as well. There arent too many vintage barbershops around anymore, but Jeff and Garys will give you a cut that Supercuts and Great Clips just cant compete with. Would recommend!

They give pretty good haircuts, both have been doing it for a while, and Ive recommended them to friends. However, its a very negative atmosphere, both guys tend to complain quite a bit and arent exactly the friendliest to customers, or on the phone. Ive gotten my haircut there each haircut for a few months and each time they havent remembered me. I would recommend making an appointment if you go.

Just got down to UD as a freshman, and this by far is the best haircut I have ever received. Gary is very easy to talk to and gives an amazing haircut. Not only do they give great haircuts, the atmosphere within the barbershop is unmatched by any other place. It has a retro 1930s charm, and their haircuts are stylish and classy! I would recommend this barbershop to absolutely ANY man regardless of age. You will not be disappointed!! I can assure you that I will always be getting my haircuts down here from now on and not back at home. 5/5

This place has been a barber shop since the building went up 119 years ago. I dont know how many owners its been through but theyve all been barbers and Jeff & Gary happen to be the current ones. Gary is who I go to but Jeff is just as good. They hook it up with style and a razor finish. Kids too! Give em a call. You wont be disappointed.

Jeff and Garys is the only place I go for my hair cuts. They are well-situated for both college students and professionals to visit. The atmosphere is relaxed, and they always are able to accommodate my crazy schedule between the two of them. I also take my young son, and we leave with great cuts every time. Highly recommend.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a good barber. After trying two or three I was recommended Jeff & Garys Barbershop by a friend. These were the barbers I was looking for. Ive been really pleased with every haircut and their attention to detail is excellent. Both Jeff & Gary are very friendly and welcoming and Ive always been able to get my hair cut when Ive wanted. Jeff and Garys is a great barbershop. CLEAN cool laid back atmosphere. Both do nice cuts but Gary is the bomb wont let anyone else cut my hair. Make an appointment and they are ready for you at that time no waiting. 10/10 for sure go visit these guys.

I dont know if Joshua cant read or maybe doesnt know how to listen but Jeff and Garys closes at 1 on Saturday and I myself have gotten several haircuts around that time in the past. Not only is this place a neat store due to its vintage old barbershop look, with many retro old signs and portraits , but the barbers themselves are excellent. I get a haircut there at least once every 3 weeks and a beard trim once every two weeks and have never had a problem with them nor the service. Its cheap, clean, fast and both Jeff and Gary are great people and one can speak to them for ours on end. By far my favorite place in Dayton, I will be continue being a customer for years to come.

I drove up from Cincinnati (an hour drive) based on a recommendation from a friend. I was VERY happy with my haircut and beard shaping. Ill be going up to see Gary on a regular basis from now on. Great shop with great guys.

Was greeted with we are closed while the barber was cutting hair, it’s 12 PM and they don’t close until 1 PM, I work two jobs and don’t have much free time and this is what I get when I come to get a haircut. Sad

I am a frequent customer for a couple reasons. They are great guys who do an outstanding job. They dont take walk ins so its as easy as calling ahead. They always make sure you are 100% satisfied with your haircut. Highly recommend!

I was in Dayton for the First 4 of the NCAA Tournament. Due to quick travel I was not able to get a haircut at home so I had to find a local spot. I was able to get an appointment and one of the best hair cuts I’ve ever got!

Normally, I have just stopped in and between the two of them, they have always been able to accommodate me for which I have always generously tipped them.On a tight schedule before flying out of the country, I decided to call for an appointment on the day of my departure.The guy on the phone was a jerk (stronger language MORE THAN applies here) to such an extent that I eas taken aback and accepted the time that he gave me.I immediately revisited that agreement, called back, and cancelled in a very clear manner. No more patronage from me.

Decor is nice, but thats the extent of my positive comments. the owners were engaged in some ugly conversation throughout my visit. the barber began cutting my hair without asking me how i wanted it done. upon leaving, having given him some direction, the haircut looked fine, and i suppose that from a distance it still looks fine, but upon inspection the left and right sides are tremendously uneven and front to back is askew as well.im certain many a good cut has come out of that place but i would not count myself among them. cant really recommend it.

At first I was full of hair, glorious hair, and I never felt better. I spent a year growing a beard that left other men with inferiority complexes. Prior to my haircut, I could satisfy any woman I wanted. I could fix everything. Then I went to the butcher and he cut me in ways that he will never understand. My dog wont even look at me.

Terrible barbers and to make matters worse are incredibly rude both on the phone and in person. Not sure why they think being a jerk to the costumer is a sound business tactic but then again they dont exactly come off as well educated individuals...

Great place its a dayton gem, Traditional Barbershop. Im a really picky person when it comes to my hair. Jeff and Garys always does an outstanding job. Appointments are preferred but i like that walk ins are also welcome. Awesome atmosphere great conversation, Highly suggested.

Went in and received a very rude response by the owner. Was a few minutes late to an appointment with no one in the barber shop and he refused to cut my hair while acting angry and unprofessional. Strongly discourage going here as most barbers provide a comfortable environment. Look for tension as the owners seem to be only looking out for themselves.

I was warned about this place. I went anyways for over a year. I thought it was a barbershop where I could have a honest conversation, but I was wrong. Gary is crazy, dont discuss any opposite opinions with Gary, he goes crazy (it was the NFL nothing important). Trust me you are better off with other barbers. The customer is never right with Gary (3 people warned me but I didnt listen). He was so rude to my 4 year old son that my son asked to never go there again.

Wanted to provide an update review.With these tough time and in the middle of a pandemic, it should be known that Jeff and Garys Barbershop go above and beyond by taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of their clients. During my appointment, Jeff made sure to sanitize the chair, his equipment and himself both before my cut and right afterwards. Additionally, Jeff was in a mask, worn properly, the entire time and made me feel very comfortable knowing the shop was clean and Covid free.While normally the shop will allow walk-ins they have changed the procedures to appointments only and while that may be incontinent for some, it ensures that appropriate social distancing measures are in place and I cant thank them enough for that. I have had my haircut a handful of times during the pandemic and all these measures have been present and I never had to worry with social distancing as Jeff made sure it was just me and him in the shop during my appointment.If you are looking for a great barber, a cool atmosphere, and a good haircut experience please give these guys a call to schedule an appointment. 5 Stars no doubt about it!
