I appreciate your contributions around the metroplex, like the others in the metroplex, Dallas County Texas will need your participation.

99+ trackers on the website. Strange for a news outlet that promotes itself as Alternative. I would expect that from the Dallas Morning News, not the Observer. I guess Im being Observed more than I thought!I have emailed them about it and asked for a response. They havent responded. They Observe us, I guess, and dont seem to care.

Ive had a chance to use the Dallas Observer as a marketing tool for my business. I will say Ive been overall disappointed with everything start to finish.Holli was friendly and upfront. She will tell you all the great marketing they have, SEO, blah blah.Compared to other marketing tools Ive been using, all Holli cares about is securing you into a contract. Beware, attempting to break the contract results in you paying the full term as penalty.Unlike other marketing tools that actually spend time strategically evaluating the ad in attracting the target demographics and delivering the ad to the desired target demographic, Holli at Dallas Observer did not offer genuine interest in helping my ad succeed. In fact she has not reached out to me to see how Im doing. Compared to Valpak, my rep sits down with me every month planning and strategizing on how to target all demographics thus expressing a genuine interest in my success. All I hear from bi-weekly is Kait, my account manager, Any changes to your ad next week? and then almost $300 is charged.I get monthly reports on their tracking. They do not record calls and I get an average of 14 calls per month. To be honest, I get 122 calls from Google Adwords spending the same amount on Dallas Observer AND I get recorded calls. I will also mention that Valpak trains my front staff on how to answer phone calls to increase phone call conversion.A few months in and I actually received one phone call stating they are calling because of my ad in the Observer! It only took 3 months! Guess what though, he never showed up.Back to Kait. One week I asked her to add must present couponKait replies I can say mention but we dont do coupons for people to cut and bring in. Will that work?Understandable. Its not a coupon. I reply No. Id like to have it say must bring in this ad.Kait replies Our readers arent the type to cut out and bring in a coupon...If you look through our paper, you dont see couponsMy last response had ad, not coupon. I reply back to her Im not telling them to cut out and bring in the coupon. Just to have them bring in the Dallas ObserverMy overall return on investment is negative with Dallas Observer.Summary: I would NOT recommend using Dallas Observer as a marketing tool. Spend your marketing dollar elsewhere.
