CAUTION ADVISED if you are taking a ring in for repair. My comments are from a 3-5 years ago, but I was not as computer literate to know how to leave a review at that time. I brought in my husbands triple band fitted wedding ring to be repaired.The ring is a combination of 3 bands that are fitted snugly together. (Fitted - designed to have with a narrower width on the underside of the finger to aid in finger flexibility, while allowing a wide band. The alignment is exact and the rings fit together as if 1 solid band.) The two outside rings has a curved bridge that attaches the two outer ring layers as one fixed piece, that the inner ring exactly fits (slides in) between. The needed repair was to reattach the broken bridge end to the outer ring. The top had separated from one side /ring and needed to be reattached. If you tried to line the separated parts up in your hand, you could easily see how it fit back into proper alignment. This was not a difficult design / repair.The gentleman jeweler that I showed the ring to, said he would be the one to do the actual repair. I showed him exactly how it fitted snugly together, and the break points confirmed the proper alignment for the wedding bands. The only thing that I did not accept, was his suggestion to have a coating applied to the rings to return it to shiny, as I did not think that my husband would want a chemical coating added to it.If the gentleman did not think he could do the repair, he could have refused the job. I expected better professionalism.When I went to pick it up, I complained that the location / angle he had attached it prevented the proper aligned fit. The jeweler got grumpy and didnt bother to fix his botched repair! Granted I refused to pay, but I would have preferred My husbands wedding ring to have been repaired correctly.I would have gone to the original jeweler that had made our rings, but he had moved out of state to care for his mother and was no longer in the business.Even after the couple of years, the ring has adjusted a wee bit, but there is still a noticeable gap that catches hairs.

My Fiance and I stumbled upon Gem Classics in our search for a jeweler that would create a replica of an Edwardian engagement ring setting for us.Upon walking in, Gabe greeted us and made us feel at home. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he immediately knew what catalog in his vast selection and, took me to the page with Edwardian settings.He ordered a sample ring for me to try on and then the customization went from there. Gabe was fantastic at guiding us on an appropriate stone to compliment the setting. He was also very considerate of our budget.I agreed to not see the ring until my fiance proposed which was 3 months from purchase to proposal. I cannot stop looking at my ring, its exactly what I imagined and so grateful Gabe listened and honored my request.Im looking forward to see what hell create for my wedding band.

I was desperately searching for a very specific Tissot mans watch for a birthday gift that was sold out at Tissot online. I called the customer service number and they provided me with a dozen or so phone numbers to jewelry stores, and very large retail shops that sell the Tissot watches. I called numerous shops just to be told they did not have this watch and it would be 6-8 weeks before it would be available. Then, I called Gabe Romo at Gem Jewelers. I told him what I was looking for and unlike all the others he said “let me make a phone call and see if I can find it for you”. And within thirty minutes he was messaging me back and letting me know he had located my watch in a warehouse and could have it overnighted to him in Dallas then to me in Hot Springs, AR !!! Now that is Above & Beyond Customer Service !!! I am beyond happy with my experience with Gem Jewelry and Gabe, and he is now my go to jeweler. Thank You again Gabe……..You Rock !!!

This family-owned store is truly a “Gem”! I took in a vintage Rolex watch that needed tons of repairs. Gabe thoroughly explained the process and walked me through all of the details so I knew what to expect. After that conversation, I trusted this store to take care of my watch. He not only completely fixed everything about the watch, but he took extra time to make sure it was perfect and did more than expected. The watch looks brand new! I just picked up my engagement ring and wedding band from having it polished and it sparkles as much as it did the day I said, “I do”. Gabe and his family provide a superior service that is rare to find these days. The quality of their work is superb & they treat you like a family member from the moment you walk in, always remembering your name. They take great pride in their work, are highly knowledgeable & pay attention to every detail. You won’t find a more compassionate jeweler out there.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Gem was a referral from a family member and they were great during the initial sales phase (the money taking phase). Ultimately though we DID NOT have the same experience that our family member did, I guess because we were unhappy with their work product and we had to go back and attempt to take advantage of post-sale service. If you are concerned about your jewelry store standing behind their work, you really should go somewhere else.We went in to have a tension ring re-sized, which they claimed they could do. We paid over $1000 for the resizing, and within 3 months the stone JUST FELL OUT!! Luckily after an hour or so on our hands and knees we found the diamond. We took it back for them fix it, which they did, for another charge of several hundred dollars. Guess what, almost immediately the stone became loose again. I gave them one more chance and to their credit they did not charge for the 3rd try. But within weeks the stone actually FELL OUT again (see picture). I went back in again, frustrated as you can imagine but calm, and they said they would stand behind their work BUT their work WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE DIAMOND EVEN IF their work caused the stone to fall out and lost forever! What kind of comfort is that? Are they afraid of their own work product resulting in lost stones apparently?But I digress, Gem now claims that the ring style is the real issue, not their work! They say that tension settings are an inherently unreliable mount. Really? I dont think so because my wife had this same tension ring for over 10 years and experienced absolutely no problems at all. I kept telling them but to no avail, its not their fault. In the end, I simple asked for my money back because they didnt do what we paid them to do! But, you guessed it, they would not accommodate at all, and had the audacity to tell me to go somewhere else and still kept my money So that is my recommendation to you, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! There are dozens of reputable jewelry dealers in the Dallas area that can sell a ring, but only the better establishments stand behind their work, and Gem is NOT one of those retailers.

I was in Addison and needed some new pieces. When I entered I didnt find anything on that day but when Gabe and his wife told me they customize rings... I knew I had some pieces that needed better diamond quality. Returned and they took care of the piece and me. Showed me the diamond before doing the modifications. Lets just say my artwork took an upgrade. The family is great and I endorse family owned and run businesses. Highly recommend.

I can’t rave enough about Gem Classics! They’re family run and are so personal with their customers. Their work is BEAUTIFUL and I am so pleased. I got a custom ring guard for my wedding band made from family gold and diamonds, my fiancé’s wedding band made from family gold, and a custom pendant for my mom made from family gold and jewels. This place is truly fantastic. I wanted to have my vintage engagement ring resized. Gabe went above and beyond for me! He gave me interesting information about the ring and took great care with it when resizing it! It was sparkling when I picked it up! Great watch repair service, fast turn around with a great price. Came in with a broken pin in my watch bracelet, Gabe called me and told me why the pin had failed. Not only fixed my problem but also the underlying cause so it wont happen again. Extremely knowledgeable! Id refer to anyone I know.

I took in some earrings for some new posts to be put on them on a Friday and the manage r was very friendly and gave me a claim slip and told me it would be about a week before the repair was finished. I received a call and an email 6 days later telling me that they were ready. I really appreciated the heavy dose of great customer service. The cost of the repairs was very reasonable as well. Will definitely be returning to Gem Classics as I always have some kind of jewelry or watch repair.

They finished the work before the due date they originally quoted me and the quality is very good - they used their best judgement to size the ring down a bit more than originally intended to fantastic result because the fit is amazing. They also offered to clean and inspect the ring any time I wished now that theyve done work on it, which is a great perk to be offered on such a minor transaction. Overall great experience.

Completely disappointed. Initially they were very friendly and helpful. For this reason we decided to get it appraised. The ring had never been worn, it had always been in its box, inside a plastic bag. We left it at the store, intact. When we picked it up we noticed scratches inside the ring. When we pointed it out to the son of the owners, he inmediately gave us a nasty defense attitude, definetely not appreciated. He tried to dismiss our concerns, as if they were not valid,because he is a jeweler and rings eventually get scratched. However, when you deliver an intact, unworn ring and get one back scratched, damage cannot be justified. He took it over to polish and steam, but it came back the same way. Very frustrating and disappointing experience given the great reviews this place had. Lesson for the owners son: lose the attitude, not good for customer service. Rings are really special for a girl, dont ruin the excitement by not being nice. (Mom and dad were great at the initial visit,just want to point that out.)FURTHERMORE, they cannot even take ownership of their mistakes. AFTER initially leaving them a 3 star review, they responded to it by challenging my integrity and making up some stories... Get your facts straight and own to your mistakes. We gladly paid (overpaid for your services no questions asked we were just leaving our honest/fair opinion online).Additionally while shopping for engagement bands we notice that they were extremely overpriced when compared to not just wholesale stores such as costco, but even other jewelry stores. I know they will probably mention that it has to do with quality, but it does not make sense that items with significantly higher (materias, clarity, carats) quality attibutes are cheaper elsewhere.Overall Im dissapointed and truly believe that most of their reviews are either paid for or made by family/friends.

I started out with a size (9) engagement ring. I got my finger sized at two stores and was told I was a size (7). I sent it out for my first resize. It came back too loose and the stone always slid down into my hand.I went to Gem Classics for my second resize because I didnt want to wait another 2 weeks to get it sized down again. After measuring the ring and my finger correctly it turns out my first resize from the original retailer was wrong. The ring was sized to a 7 1/2 and my finger is not a 7, its a 6 1/2. Gem Classics custom made a 6 1/2- 6 3/4 size. It fits perfectly. Although my custom engraving did not survive the ordeal from a size 9 to 6 1/2, I finally feel that my ring is in the perfect size and is no longer frustrating.Do NOT get resized in a chain store (Zales/Kays/whatever is in a mall.) These are salespeople, not trained jewelers that understand that your finger changes size depending on the seasons and when youre cold or hot.
