Loved the kayaking experience with them. Being on a kayak for the first time, I was very nervous. The check in process was easy. Had a tandem boat (2 person on board) for couple of hours. The staff were very helpful in helping us get on board the kayak and off board after we finished kayaking. Received simple instructions from the crew about kayaking techniques which made it even easier for me. Would definitely be renting kayak from them in future again.

I can’t believe this !!! We were sinking and sinking from the back of the kayak !! Don’t come here !! They don’t check their kayaks!! Water got inside the kayak . Go somewhere else . Is not worth it . Bad bad service!!!! Thank God nothing bad happened to me and my wife while being in the water . They didn’t care. I’m not coming back !! Never 👎 what made me more upset was that it was my wife’s first time kayaking and had such a horrible experience. We paid for one hour and only used 30mins of it! And they did not refund the rest of the time we PAID! As you can see on the picture the kayak was completely filled with water!

Pretty pricy for the rental. They do $27 for 1 tandem and $20 for solo kayak and it’s just for 1 hr. However, the people are knowledgeable and friendly. The price is just abhorrent.

Communication wasnt quite there regarding late return - felt like they specifically hide key things on verbal communication during the initial instructions time , and put it on the fine print to charge money later . Would not recommend this place . Perhaps having them on fine print is contractually correct, but to win over customers interest , they gotta do a better job of communicating about the late fee ,as its not a guided tour .

I’d like to preface that I don’t give poor reviews. I’m writing because I am deeply disappointed with the customer service I received for my FIRST time ever paddle boarding. I told 3 staff members that it was my first time paddle boarding with hopes that I would get a mini tutorial of how to use the paddle and turn my board. However they just pushed my board in the water saying “I would be fine.” I got stuck TWICE near dead ends of trees/bushes and one of the staff members did come to my rescue the first time. The second time I was stuck in the tree one my friends in the group I was with had to counsel and instruct me how to use my paddle back to shore, which took a while since it was my first paddle boarding and it was extremely hard to paddle against strong currents. Even the staff member that came to my rescue the first time said the currents were stronger than usual today. Because of the lack of instruction, I got stuck in the middle of the lake with the current; therefore I fairly believe I should not be charged since it was not under my control. The lady said I should have told the staff members that it was my first time and I informed that I did. I’m upset because I did not feel comfortable at all for my FIRST experience paddle boarding and I feel it is to charge me an extra $23.95, a first timer, for arriving late. I would NOT recommend White Rock Lake for any first timers like me for your first experience paddle boarding- especially if environmental factors, like currents, occur and you’re stuck in the middle of the lake because this company WILL charge you. This was NOT a great first experience. I would appreciate if this company did not charge me an additional $23.95 for being 45 minutes late because I was stuck in the middle of the lake with no help. I did not choose to stay in the lake an extra 45 minutes, especially for a beginner who does NOT know what they’re doing. I’m very disappointed from the discomfort I feel from my first time experience. Do NOT come here. My friend recommends the lake in Lewisville or in Austin for any first timers like me that want a wonderful, comforting first time experience where they WON’T charge an additional fee under any circumstance.

First time kayaking for me. So much fun. They even have paddles for your little ones. My teens are pros at it. So they were exploring the lake. Employees were great over the phone when I called the day before with questions. An just the same face to face. Will be going back.

Very reasonable prices. They let me take my small dog (14 lbs) on the kayak as well. I only wish that they could leave the rentals covered somehow on super hot day. When we first got into the kayaks we rented they were super hot so it was either burn our legs like crazy or splash some water in them but get our shorts all wet.

We planned on kayaking with some friends, due to potential rain we rescheduled to the next day. Everything was great. We soon realized that my friend and I had a miscommunication while rebooking our times. I rebooked 1.5 hours while he booked 1 hour. Not wanting to be out on the lake without them, we all were done after 1 hour. I was hoping that the staff would kindly credit me 30min for next time since it takes nothing away from them. I was a little surprised when they told me that they cannot help me. Staff were all warm and welcoming until you ask them some actual help. I was looking forward to coming back many times, since I did move close to the lake.

Super disappointed with my experience, I called in advance to confirm that they are dog friendly. So I made a reservation for 2 paddle boards and when we got there they told us dogs are not allowed on the paddle boards. No where on there website is this stated and it was not stated on the phone. If you have dogs and want to take them with you, don’t go here.Oh and according to the girl I spoke with the paddle boards are “too wobbly and unstable” so we won’t be going back.

Horrible customer service. We went to kayak only to be told we had to reserve online. There were 3 young ladies just sitting there, with a laptop plugged in. Their website is archaic at best so we couldn’t get a reservation using phone. They confirmed it’s very difficult to reserve online with phone lol. They just sat there and said sorry... owners won’t upgrade site. Two other groups came and went, lol. I kept waiting for them to offer to help, but nothing. I know they lost about $200 in the 20 minutes we were there... such bad business practices. I’ll kayak and reserve in the future, but I’ll go elsewhere, like Grapevine or Lewisville. I thought they were in business to make money, lol. A great study in non existent customer service.

The staff was great. They answered all our questions on the phone and were very nice and easy going once we got there. The kayaks we saw didnt have any back supports but thats about 50/50 with kayak rentals. The price was the best part! Very affordable. However, the reason we wont come back and it has nothing to do with the staff, is the high amount of pollution in the water. Once we paddled off of the main lake, which allowed much larger boats that created 3 foot wakes, and got back into the more secluded creeks, there was such a difference. The top of the water was covered with a film. The smell was putrid (different from a natural sulfer smell) there was garbage covering the shore banks. We would return if the water conditions improved. However, as of now we dont want to even get splashed with water that smells like rotting garbage.

Your website doesnt specify that you must reserve online, if so not clearly. It says that you can reserve online but not that you must. And i dont know what online reservations are going to do if we are still going to be in contact with the employees.Contact free???Contact free? I bought a mask, i got handed a life jacket, you guys push us into the water....? But thats fine i get it, but i would have reserved my spot online had it been specified right under it, not accepting walk up appointments or however you want to phrase it. Just think it should be more clear before driving 30-40 minutes to get told that you have to reserve online.

I decided to I just wanna go kayaking today, like right now! Found this place on Google, super close to our place. Got there around 2:30, it was online reservation only(which is great). Did my online reservation, helped my wife with hers. Ran into a little snag: we really really wanted to be out for two hours, I already paid for two hours for myself but they were sold out on her end. So we we accepted only being out for an hour. When we went to check in we let them know about the problem and asked if they could refund the extra hour I paid for. He checked our reservation, and us if it was okay if he could try to get an extra hour for my wife, of course we said yes. Unfortunately, they were in fact sold out for that intended hour, but he did issue my refund for the extra hour I purchased. Hands down the absolute best public experience weve had this year. Friendly staff, follow covid rules and safe practices.

If youre trying to rent a kayak or paddleboard in Dallas, this is the place to do it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hourly rates are reasonable, and the equipment is well-suited for the (relatively) calm waters of White Rock.A word to the wise: go early, before the heat of the day makes sitting on the open water miserable. This is a fairly popular place, so it is also a good idea to make a reservation ahead of time (this is especially true with COVID-19; it isnt obvious on their website, but a reservation is required nowadays). In short, a highly recommended morning outing.

Horrible online booking/inventory system or someone is pocketing money for on-site reservations. Tried to book 2 tandem kayaks and 1 SUP, but the system only allows for one rental transaction at a time. Good thing we called before confirming the non-refundable reservation because we were told the time we secured online was not accurate and they really didn’t have tandems available during the timeframe listed online today from 4:30-6:00pm.

This is one of my favorite things in Dallas. The rental prices are extremely reasonable and they have very good hours to enjoy all hours of daylight. I love that you can go into the lake in the openness one direction, or head to the right and there is a nature trail with tons of wildlife and bridges. The water gets a fair bit dirtier in that direction, but sometimes its nice to lay back, close your eyes, and just drift into the scenery around you. Heading into the more open parts of the lake instead, the water is very clean and great to swim in, or to see how far you can make it.I highly recommend this place if you want to kayak around the city without breaking the bank!

I went kayaking last summer, and it was a fun experience. They get you in and out pretty quickly. They dont have lockers, so you can leave your stuff in your car, or theyll hold some little stuff for you at their spot. The kayaks are reasonably priced. Its right on White Rock Lake, so you can go on the huge, open lake or go off to the side on this more narrow river part. My only complaint is my boyfriend and I had different kayaks, and his was pretty uncomfortable because it was for more seasoned kayakers, which he was not. They seem slightly disorganized, but its no biggie! Still a good time if youre wanting to go do something fun on the lake for an affordable price.

Great company! My only complaint is that they only have the kayaks with open holes at the bottom (which they dont mention on their website), so definitely wear something you dont mind getting wet/that wont be uncomfortable once wet (so not the jean shorts and t-shirt that I wore). Pay the extra two or three dollars to use their waterproof, floating bag for your electronics and such (or bring your own), and bring a Bluetooth, waterproof speaker! That will be awesome to have out there and really helps the vibe, trust me. The hour you get is plenty, and the area is very peaceful and relaxing. Enjoy!

They charge by the hour. That would not have been too bad IF they did not move up the road... to get to White Rock Creek now, you have to paddle no less that 15 minutes each way, and fight currents...The single kayak I rented had a staple on the back. The items I placed there were soaked within minutes. This was surprising to me because my personal kayak always kept things dry even though it was exposed. It was a great thing my cell phone case was waterproof!!!Furthermore, the seating section accumulated lots of water! Yes, I got soaked to my waist.Lesson learned, do not put kayak into storage, keep it closer so I do not have to rent.
